I was born in a small mining town called Bosoco, WV in 1938, the youngest of 5 kids and the only girl with 4 older brothers. I grew up as a tomboy so I guess that is why I have always loved sports. In high school girls wasn't allowed to play any sports so I just watched the boys play all the games. I graduated from high school and then met my future husband who was from San Francisco, CA.. Living in CA really gave me the chance to watch the Warriors, SF Giants and the SF 49ers. I actually worked at Candlestick Stadium as an usher so I could see the different baseball teams that come to play against the Giants. I loved watching Joe Montana play at Candlestick and was at the game when the "CATCH" was caught by Dwight Clark. I went crazy over that catch. Of course the "9ers" went on to win the Superbowl that year against the Bengals. My favorite basketball player was Rick Berry and I just loved him. I did get to meet him in person one time when he was signing basketballs at a auto show.
