Five Keys To The Wolverines Success In 2009-10
10/26/2009
I just graduated from the University of Michigan and I am hoping to get a job as a journalist. It hasn't been easy going to school at one of the worst stretches in the history of the football team, but hopefully that's about to change. My first love is the Detroit Tigers, I also love the US men's national team, the Pistons and the Red Wings.
Aside from loving sports and looking for a journalism job, I'm also a huge fan of music. My favorites tend to be 60s pop, 70s punk, and late 90s early 00's underground hip hop.
Another new article, this one's about the rookie head coaches in 2009 and their outlook for the upcoming season. It's kind of long, but I'd appreciate your feedback and input.

Thanks for the edit and the feedback. I thought about doing veterans and rookies separate and I don't have much explanation why I didn't... I just felt it like I wrote it, it's interesting that you saw it that way because I wasn't sure what I was going to do... I also thought about doing it by position, division...etc...I'm planning on doing offensive and defensive.
As far as Honorable Mention list, I thought if I put the honorable mention list at the beginning, it would give away some of the players that didn't make my top 15... a little more dramatic affect...I guess... and then some post-disappointment consolation for the fans whose team doesn't appear on the list. I could definitely be wrong there and appreciate the standard protocol lesson and will look at writing the next half in that manner..
Great feedback... thank you.

Thanks for the feedback and POTD Charles. And you're exactly right about some of Lloyd Carr's previous classes which were ranked higher than Ohio State's nearly ever year, but only beat Tressel's teams once.

thanks for the feedback
the reason I put "All Conference" is because it is verbatim from those publications for that era
the AFL (fourth version, which some forget) was one reason, even when it had merged...the reverberations were still felt then
Parker, yes...was a thought to mention it
but thought I'd leave that tidbit for the Lions Almost Team
I had made reference to that time in a piece I did on the "Bobby Layne Curse" about a month or so ago

Thanks, buddy...
I did publish them all initially as individual articles...
But, I like to consolidate them at the end of the week so that I can send my friends a link to BR so they can read all at once....
They would not like 3 separate links...
Thanks for for your time and feedback.

Thanks for the edit. RE: your criticism, if anything, I'm picking on teams that didn't repeat. Since the merger, eight NBA teams have won one title and failed to win another with the same nucleus. Two of those teams are last year's Celtics and this year's Lakers, whose windows are still open. One of them is the 1983 Sixers, (rightly) considered to be among the greatest teams of all time.
That leaves five one-and-done champs in a sea of other teams that won multiple titles. I singled out four of them as less impressive than the repeat winners, and also singled out what I considered to be the least impressive back-to-back champ.
I'm all for team chemistry, but NBA history says you need star power to win as well. Otherwise, wouldn't the teams I discussed here have more than one title?

Thanks for the edits, feedback, and suggestion. I got the impression from JC that my piece was part of a grander scheme, so even though I was trying to be thorough, I was trying to leave some angles for others. I don't know if it worked out that way, otherwise I would have done precisely what you suggested.
Thanks man!

Thanks for the edits on the Packers article. I made my own edit and went a bit further on Aarond Rodgers as you suggested. Thanks again.

DeleteI'd appreciate your feedback on my most recent article on the Patriots. This is the first in a series, where I'm checking in with all of the different positions on the roster and seeing where the Patriots stand. First up is the offensive line. Your read/feedback would be greatly appreciated!
