The outpouring of love, support and sympathy for myself, my mother, my wife and the rest of my family has been most touching. I'm a 44-year-old freelance writer and artist living and working in Burlington, Vermont, where I recently moved to from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple.

I was born in Hollywood, Florida, and raised in California until joining the Navy. I've played football, basketball, and baseball with some success in high school, and am a huge fan of those sports.

I'm also a fan, to a greater or lesser degree, of many other sports, such as hockey, soccer, golf, boxing, racing, etc. To me, sports is one of the greatest pastimes man has ever come up with, combining the strategy and thinking of warfare with physical acheivement and comraderie.

Joe is a recent graduate of THE Michigan State University and has developed an unhealthy obsession with soccer over the years.

As one of the MLS community leaders along with Thomas Leemon, he hopes to give the league a wider exposure through his writing. He is also always looking for new MLS writers to help the community grow.
