I am a 25-year-old journalist and Mets fan living in Brooklyn, having moved from England in June 2009.
I am obsessed with baseball, basketball, New York sports and statistics.
I am excited to report that I am no longer set for another season of sleepless nights in front of the computer watching internet streams of sports games happening 2,500 miles away from me when I have to be at work a mere few hours after they conclude.
This summer I married my beautiful fiancee Lisa, and now I have the daunting task of trying to move all of our belongings into our new apartment.
I studied for my BA (hons) in journalism at the University of Central Lancashire in England and at SUNY Plattsburgh in upstate New York.
For the last three years I worked as a journalist at a weekly newspape...

Michael Whooley lives in the happiest place on Earth. No,not Disneyland; rather that beautiful city known as San Bruno in the wondrous state of California. A graduate of Providence College in Rhode Island, Michael has also done his time on the East Coast and has come to the conclusion that the West Coast truly is the Best Coast. Seriously, who needs snow? Michael emerged from his mother's womb decked in the red and gold of his beloved San Francisco 49ers. Growing up in the Bay Area in the late 80s and early 90s, Michael was spoiled and got to enjoy some of the best football any team has ever played (not just opinion, but a fact as solid as the fact that the male seahorse has the babies - look it up!) Trips to Candlestick Park to see the 49ers with his grandma were frequent occurrences. ...

Growing up in a suburb of San Francisco during the ‘80s, it wasn’t hard falling head over heals for the local sports teams. The Bay Area squads were at their pinnacle and it seemed like the products they were putting on the field were immaculate. And at times they were.
Having parents that were not die-hard sports fans didn’t really help my progress in learning the ins and outs of sports, but it didn’t hurt that my next-door neighbor was Fred Quillan, the center for the San Francisco 49ers at the time. Seeing him leave for games and practices was surreal, almost like watching a warrior right before he heads off to battle. It made me want to learn everything sports related. And the sport really didn’t matter, Football, Baseball, Tennis, whatever.
I have followed the 49ers an...

A native of Memphis, TN, I currently reside in beautiful Bellingham, WA. I've always harbored an affinity for the West Coast, and once the stars alligned, I moved here on a whim in 2005. I write for a music magazine up here, but with the advent of March Madness, I felt compelled to commence writing about my OTHER passion, sports; hence my appearance here.
In addition to writing about music, I also play it. I'm a veteran of several bands up here in the Northwest and Memphis as well.
Although I love to write, I find it hard to write about myself in one all-encompassing blurb, so henceforth, I'll let my articles do the talking.
Take care!

I'm an avid fan of College Football and the NFL. I also enjoy some Basketball and Nascar (but hate the Chase).
I love to travel, go to the beach, and go places I've never been. Traveling is a great way to find the world, find out how other people are and their cultures, and a great way to find yourself.

Boy, post graduate life is surely different than I thought.
I'm a local Florida kid with Idaho roots, and pit stops in Maryland and Virginia. Love to read and write about anything Boise State, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins and occasionally the Caps. Biding my time on Bleacher Report (possibly the greatest thing since fries in a Frosty) until Baseball America calls my name (still waiting Jim Callis, still waiting).
Clearly, a passion of mine is throwing out my opinions on the minor leagues, and hey, when you're an Orioles fan, that's about the only place to look for hope. Aside from my Jim Callis obsession, I also enjoy the writings of Roch Kubatko, formerly of the Baltimore Sun and now a full-time blogger for MASN Sports, Peter Schmuck, Kubatko's heir to the throne at the...
