A sportswriter is neither a homer nor a fan. Instead, a sportswriter is a fan of the game, a fan of the sport he or she is covering. Though we might have favorite teams that we root for, when it comes to reporting, we call them as we see them.
We heap praise or lay blame whenever or wherever we feel it is justified. Even our favorite team’s most hated adversary can receive our profound admiration. And our team’s most beloved player or coach can be the subject of our admonition.
I am a sportswriter. It’s as plain and simple as that. I have no problem calling out the players and coaches that I admire when I feel their actions warrant it. But the game itself remains beyond reproach.
In addition to sportswriting, I have been a screenwriter, a media writer and an educator. A...

Writer bio
I just recently received my Masters degree form Cal State Northridge and am considering the pursuit of my PHD in social studies/history. Along the way, I have developed a passion for USC football, which I have followed for more than twenty years. In a somewhat less myopic state of mind, I also follow all things college football and most sports in general. My other passion is politics and I am very involved in following the day to day workings of the Washington DC movers and shakers. Now single after my ex-fiance got smart, I have decided that my next relationship will be with a woman who matches my interests or can share me with the things I love. In the meantime, I will get along following the things that make me happy.

4 - Greg Huntoon
Writer bio
Greg is a creative director and graphic designer, and avid sports fan. After two years of writing on the staff of his college's weekly, Greg became the paper's editor-in-chief where he took the paper from a cut-and-paste pre-press operation to a fully digital pre-press process. In doing so, he learned the requisite Adobe layout and design programs which fostered his love for design and ultimately became the basis for his career.
An athlete by passion, Greg grew up in Arcadia, CA and played baseball, football, soccer, and basketball before deciding to focus exclusively on baseball. After a successful career as a starting pitcher in college, Greg hung up the pursuit of playing professional ball to focus on his studies, earning a degree in Ecological Anthropology and Writing from the U...

I am the best high school football and basketball game writer that ever lived. I'm a standup comedian now and if you want to rip me for my opinions, that's fine. I could really care less. About 90 percent of them are right on the money. I miss sometimes, nobody is perfect.
Worked as the Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska (sometimes Kansas) correspondent for CBS/MaxPreps for three years. Worked as the sports editor of a newspaper in Oklahoma City, covered teams like the New Orleans/OKC Hornets, the Oklahoma City Redhawks, and the OKC indoor professional football team. Covered some of the best high school hoops talent in the country, along with some of the hottest gridiron recruits in America. Covered the best national high school rivalry in the country, the Ba...

I am a UCLA graduate and a longtime fanatic of Bruin sports who joined Bleacher Report because I'm pursuing a writing career, and feel that I can combine my love of sports with my love of writing to write some articles and to get my opinions out there.
I have also been a baseball fanatic, having been involved in the game as a player and a coach for over 25 years. Like my grandparents before me, I have been a Dodgers fan since age 10. I also like the Padres and the Cubs.
Officially, my favorite sports are baseball/softball to play, and college football to watch.

I usually explain my near savant like knowledge of football and love for the game like this: I have brothers. And I went to USC. That shuts about 50% of inquisitors up. heh.
So yeah, About Me. I figured it was time I put something on this page for my readers.
Hi! I’m Amy, and I am Your Gridiron Goddess. I am a West Coast based writer and fanatical USC Trojan fan. I was born in Chicago, so claim as my birthright my love for Da Bears, The Cubbies, Da Bulls and even the White Sox. My family moved to Las Vegas when I was in 6th grade and they all still pretty much reside in Nevada. I moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to go to the University of Southern California where I majored in changing my major, staying in school forever, and being the best damn Delta Gamma ever. ha ha. In all serious...

I'm a die- hard Michigan State Spartan fan, first off. I love baseball, and I myself, like many of you on BR, am an aspiring writer! I'm the head sports writer at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan; home of the Bears, and I will now be covering The Flint Generals Hockey Team as well. Go green, restore the roar in Detroit (Tigers), the Lions never had a "roar"... I'm also a huge Wings fan, and I'm awaiting the day the Pistons become an Eastern Conference powerhouse like they've been all decade long. You can find me on facebook at www.facebook.com/gogreensparty (or just add me, Adam Biggers).... please check out my Fanaddicts interview, and subscribe to Tony and Brian's channel... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYzRhP6RfQk baseball, baseball, baseball

I'm 21 and a current college student who loves college football and Boston College football. Also pretty much anything to do with Boston/New England sports.
I go to so many Boston College games I should just become a season ticket holder which might happen real soon.
I'll write a lot about Boston College and the Atlantic Coast Conference. Also I will write stories about teams and conferences throughout college football.
I follow College Football so close its like a second religion to me.
Also I've found some people who comment on articles make baseless ones at best and also make ones toward others that are demeaning and geared to boost their overall personal agenda.
On an other note...when talking about the team/s you support never use "we" or "your&quo...

15 - Dr. E. Joseph Arias
Writer bio
Dr. E. Joseph Arias graduated from the University of Southern California in 1986. He was a gymnast/yell-leader for the USC National Championship Trojan Football Team in 1979-1980. Joseph's Bachelor of Arts degree from USC is in Humanities with a Cinema/Dramatic Arts emphasis. After singing in Broadway musicals, Joseph received his Teaching Credential at UCLA in 1998. In 2004 and 2009, respectively, he received a Master of Science degree and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA. Two of Joseph's greatest memories of his USC gymnast-yell-leading experience was cheering at the Rose Bowl and being on the field next to the end-zone as TB Charlie White made the game-winning (controversial) TD against Michigan. Also, it was fun to play University of Hawaii ...
