Oklahoma Sooners Football Top Writers

1 - SportMonk

Writer bio

I'm a junior at the University of Nebraska, majoring in news-editorial journalism with an emphasis on sports writing/editing. I'm on the sports desk of the Daily Nebraskan, the campus paper. I'd like to one day write for The Oklahoman (and turn the pape to national prestige) and get big enough to work for ESPN.

Westboro Baptist has been protesting at Nebraska games this season, condemning the state with claims that Memorial Stadium is a temple for the worship of its gods, the Huskers. This caused me to think: If sports is my religion and athletes are my gods, I must be a monk.

2 - Jeff Johnson

Writer bio

Sooner-born and Sooner-bred, Jeff Johnson brings a unique perspective to Oklahoma Sooners football and the Big 12 Conference. Educated as a computer scientist, he shares an appreciation for breaking down the game and its players.

Always striving for improvement, Jeff welcomes your feedback. For Jeff's other interests, visit http://myspace.com/doublejaay/.

Ron Johnson
Height: 6'1

If there was ever a man who lived to shake up the foundation on "perfection," it is the enigma known as Ron Johnson. For the past two years, Johnson has been rocking the nation with countless submissions that challenge not only the conscience, but also the sports mind. From his censor filled "My Two Cents" to his comical "Dem Apples," Johnson is living proof that no name wannabes can even have their name etched in history.

6 - Justin Potts

Writer bio

I am a current resident of New York City but grew up in Tipp City, Ohio. Being from Ohio, most would expect me to be an Ohio State fan, but I am an avid Michigan fan and went to my first Michigan football game (the 1983 Rose Bowl) just 62 days after being born. As my parents say, I was ok the whole game, but when it ended and Michigan lost to Washington, I started crying - and that's when they knew I was a Michigan fan.

I have covered the Indianapolis Colts for three years, including at Super Bowl XLI, and worked for the Cleveland Browns and the National Hockey League. I have written blogs for NHL players, Sheldon Souray and Ryan Miller, that have been published in Maxim and AskMen.com.

I am married to a life-long Notre Dame fan, which only adds to the family rivalry I grew up wi...

14 - Alex Ferguson

Writer bio

I'm Alex, I'm from London, and I have a job as a journalist. About insurance. If there's anything that can drive the person truly mad, it's years of writing about insurance. Trust me. I know.
But my biggest love is sports. In the UK I love my soccer teams, but I have my big American passions: baseball and football. Sure, I can deal with the odd NBA game and March Madness, as well as a bit of the NFL, but give me Ken Griffey's swing and a Penn State White Out any day of the week.
So here I am. I have a blog - http://viewfromnorthamerica.blogspot.com that I hope you'll look at at some point. And I love writing.

15 - Bob Warja

Writer bio

I am a lifelong Chicagoan who loves sports, especially baseball, and especially the Cubs. I could die a happy man if the Cubs could just once win the damn World Series. But I refuse to die until they do, which ensures a long life I think.

I have a passion for writing, am opinionated, and I don't bathe frequently. I do try to be balanced and fair, but I look forward to your comments, I love feedback.

On a personal note, I have three kids, one of each. If you want to know more about me, first consult a therapist. But if you still insist, Sam Wenk was kind enough to do a brief profile on me for BR:

16 - Lou Vozza

Writer bio

Only follow two sports closely. College football and golf. SEC fan, Gator fan. Known for my enthusiastic opposition to any kind of college football playoff system.

A small format mini-playoff will create more controversy than it will solve. A playoff system must have at least 24 teams to be credible. I am against a 24 team playoff because it will destroy the drama of the regular season.

18 - Taylor Gram

Writer bio

Hey, I'm Taylor-
I live in Texas(No I'm not a hick who lives on a farm, and rides a horse around town, that's just a Texas stereotype), love sports, and have a huge devotion to any team in the Dallas area. I HATE the Spurs, Warriors, Yankees, Giants, Redskins, Eagles, and Lakers.

I've been following the Cowboys and Mavericks for all of my fourteen years, and yes, I've seen Aikmen, Emmit, and Irvin. Unlike most kids these days, I know and care about past and retired players, and try to learn more every day.

The only sports I'm almost uknown to are Hockey and Soccer. My excuse for Hockey is that I do live in the South, and it's not widely spread like it is in the North. I have no excuse for soccer, well, I guess not being able to understand the commentaters for soccer may be an...

I'm a die-hard college football fan and love the game more than just about anything else in this world. I can never get enough of it and if the right situation ever arose I might want to get into college football coaching. 32 - Joel Barker
