Writer bio

I have loved sports for as long as I remember. Growing up in Texas I grew to love high school football. I spent my college days at Texas Tech University so I like to keep with the BIG 12 and absolutely LOVE college football! Currently I live in Hoboken, NJ, just outside NYC. While I haven't converted to a Yankees or Giants fan it is hard not to get swept up in the lore of new york city sports! I don't root or follow one specific sports team; I simply love to watch for the sport of it. Currently, MMA takes up most of my time in regards to sports. I remember watching the first UFC's with my high school friends and it has been great to see the resurrection and meteoric rise of MMA.

3 - Jon Grilz

Writer bio

Jon is a graduate student working on his Masters Degree in writing. He is a fan of all sports Minnesotan, but ranks mixed martial arts as his favorite sport. He was a late bloomer to MMA, not really getting into the sport until the Tito/Shamrock feud began, but doesn't really feel like he missed much leading up to all the ado.

Depending on what article you read, Jon is between 5'4"-6'8", between 120-320 pounds and may or may not be a member of the Communist party. He is single/married/divorced/widowed and enjoys drinking in the dark.

Jon is also the first winner of the Bleacher Report Humor Bowl, which he attributes either to not being held enough by his mother, or a little too much by his "uncle".

Your looking at an avid Yankee and MMA fan. As far as sports go I was once a huge fan of the sweet science but have lost interest as of late. I grew up on the border of VT and NY on an island in the middle of Lake Champlain. You might say this means I should be a Sox fan by demographic but thats exactly why I love the Yanks. Im a proud father of two munchkins by my beautiful wife and thats about it. I love an intellectual discussion on either topic of interest with anyone who will listen or give input. Take care.

11 - Joseph Lupoli

Writer bio

Joseph Lupoli resides with his wife in New Jersey. He is a U.S. Army veteran who has over thirty-five years of martial arts experience. Joseph is not interested in disclosing which forms of martial arts he has studied or what ranks he has earned. He, instead, prefers to post and write articles about MMA and related topics. Joseph is a published writer, having penned fiction and non fiction short stories and magazine articles. He is currently working on his second full length non-fiction book titled, "The Climb." His first book drew so many rejections that he had enough fireplace kindle to last him two winters. (Hey, that's nothing to sneeze at)! In fact, about ninety-eight percent of Joseph's original stories have been rejected by numerous agents and publishers.

I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I'm actually a big MMA fan. Remeber watching my first UFC event in 1999 and have been caught up in all the action since then. I'm also a big wrestling fan but I feel that wrestling has been lacking since MMA has gotten so much bigger.
I actually started training in MMA in montreal several months ago and I'm eager to learn, haven't seen any big names yet, but I heard GSP was there sometimes, can't wait to see him there.

I go to college in the Northeast, with a major in Communications. I'm focusing on becoming a sports journalist one day, hopefully with a concentration in Mixed Martial Arts. I'm very young and raw as a writer, but I'm constantly learning, and any help and/or feedback is greatly appreciated. Leave a note if any questions or comments!

The life of a sales manager is filled with ups and downs, and lots of downtime. Until you kick me out I'll be spending some of my downtime here, taking to task the Red Sox Pink Hats & MMA fans that think Tito Ortiz is still relevant.
The majority of my writing up to this point in my life has been boring technical equipment proposals and Zzzzzzzzz.

Writer bio

I'm a custom home builder. I own two companies currently and am thinking of adding a few more. Normally we build new homes with the occasional larger addition or remodel thrown in for fun but right now we are doing lots more remodeling and small repair type jobs. We're building almost no new homes and just generally trying to keep employees employed.

I'm a fan of MMA. I've done a little training before but nothing really worth mentioning although I am starting to get a bit more serious. My hobbies are lifting weights, MMA and Motorcycles both dirt and street.

I'm not married but have a girlfriend of almost 7 years so I might as well be, no kids but I do have four Rottweilers who can be like kids when the pack mentality takes over.

30 - Joe Burgett

Writer bio

Hi I'm Joe Burgett and I am one of the most informed in wrestling you will find here or anywhere, not that I know everything in wrestling history, but when it comes down to today's news, rumors, storylines, releases, signings or anything I am the guy to talk to.

I am #1 in the wrestling section, and I will make sure it stays that way. People hate me in that section, mainly because of a my rise to the top, I am not cocky, but I am glad I am ahead of some of them. Ron is the community leader, but to me he is the boss, he is the only one I answer too.

I am not the guy to mess with, I come back time after time, so insult me and my articles all you want, but remember this, I will always be better than you, to those who like me, this is not to you, but you know who you are for the one's...

My family includes my beautiful wife and two sons. My wife and I have been married for five years, and I love her more now than the day I said "I do." My boys are both very young. My oldest will turn three in January 2009, and my youngest just turned a year old in August 2008. They are 19 months apart, and have been a blessing in our lives.

My favorite sport is Mixed Martial Arts. I have been a fan since viewing the first UFC event back in November, 1993. I have attended a number of local MMA shows in the Tampa area, as well as UFC 44: Undisputed featuring a main event between Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz for the undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight championship. I have been to high profile sporting events including NBA Finals and NFL playoffs games. None of those games...

Writer bio

I'm an MMA "nut" for lack of a better word. I love fighting, I can sense it in my blood. I'm mostly a fan of the UFC, and while I do watch other promotions, nothing compares to the UFC for me. My memory isn't really as good as it should be, so while I do know my stuff, if you asked me who my favorite fighters were, it might take me twenty minutes to remember their names. I took British street fighting (kind of like Mina Jiu Jitsu), for a year in Israel. I continue to learn Krav Maga from my brother, a former sniper in the Israeli Military. If I can manage to pull some money together, I hope to start taking BJJ and maybe Aikido, on a regular basis.

I'm just an average guy with an average life. Nothing above average ever happens to me, but nothing below average happens to me either. To break the boredom of my life, I like to write down some of my random thoughts about MMA. No doubt most of you will find my rants to be undoubtedly average, but it's better I rant to the Internet masses than to the few friends I have.

I'm currently a student pursuing a degree in philosophy. In the past I have been a lifeguard, technical support agent at a call center, grill cook at a steakhouse, and once, spent a month playing poker online for money. Out of these things, the only one of those occupations that I would now recommend for a young person is being a lifeguard. That's just my opinion.

While thinking about some philosophical questions on occasion, I have always been fascinated by sports and the incredible people that compete in them.

While I am a hockey and basketball fan, and keep up with a little bit on golf, football, soccer, boxing, I have really become most interested in two sports: MMA, and Tennis. While I do not actively participate in tennis, I am training in mixed martial arts.

Writer bio

My names Travis, I have been an avid fan of mixed martial arts for years. I took a year of boxing and then took some time off, during that break i discovered a mixed martial arts training center known as Thaishodo MMA. I have watched pretty much all the TUF's, every UFC since 50 and I have found the older ones on video or online. The same deal comes with Pride i started watching that just about the time it was dissolved, once it was i went to best buy and bought most of the past ones. Those i couldn't find i found online. I also watch Elite XC though many MMA fans find it to be a disgrace, I myself have mixed feelings about it all. I went to college for one semester so far, most of you who chose to go to college instead of jump into the job market, congrats i learned that lesson the har...
