A recent university graduate with a passion for football.

I’ll be focusing mainly on international football on here, mainly on the Three Lions as an avid but realistic supporter.

A couple of my regular pieces are on England's past games and historical record against their next opponent, see here for the latest: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/287620-brazil-vs-england-the-history

I also preview upcoming England squad annoucements and have a look at who might be in or out with varying degrees of success, see here for the latest: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/285241-england-squad-preview-capello-faces-injury-crisis-ahead-of-brazil-test

I’m also looking to branch out into the French and Portuguese national teams as particular interests.

I’m also the first winner of ...

Choose Football. Choose a team. Choose a vocation. Choose a family. Choose a stadium, choose bad catering, no leg room, whingeing glory seekers and cynical die-hards. Choose wing wizardry, midfield dynamos, and twenty a season strikers. Choose fixed interest season ticket repayments. Choose your seat. Choose your friends. Choose over-priced replica kits and matching accessories. Choose a reserve team striker on loan from a range of bigger clubs. Choose going out on the lash after the game and wondering who the hell you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing grand slam Sundays, stuffing junk food into your mouth. Choose going home and away til the end of it all, pishing your last on a miserable terrace, nothing more than an embarrassm...

B/R World Football Writer of the Year 2008.
Former B/R Staff Editor
Now B/R World Football Team Leader

I am both a history (BA) and journalism (MA) graduate, which is only impressive when you consider they are just about the only combination of degrees that guarantee you won't get a job in the current economic climate.

Nevertheless, I hope to one day make it as a sports journalist of the highest level. If nothing else, a man can dream.

I spent over a year as a Staff Editor here at Bleacher Report, responsible for editing contributions and polishing articles for the World Football and Cricket sections of the site. I'm now Team Leader for the World Football section, trying to assist the ever-growing ranks of Featured Columnists with article ideas and advice.

I am trying to m...

Hi!

I'm Barney Corkhill, the Liverpool Community Leader for Bleacher Report! Obviously that means I'm a Liverpool fan and I look forward to celebrating the league title finally coming home this season! Other than football, I like playing and watching rugby, cricket, tennis and any other sports really!

In terms of music, The Beatles are by far the greatest band of all time (fact), and it just so happens that they come from the greatest city of all time as well (fact)! I play drums and can play a lot of the Beatles songs on the piano! Anyway, this is a sports site not a music site so I'll stop there! My favourite film is Green Street - It was good enough to almost turn me into a West Ham fan for an hour and it certainly had "I'm forever blowing bubbles" in my head rather ...

Hey all, its been a while since I'v eupdatd this but since then I've started my masters, got a car, learnt the difference between a washing machine and an oven and many other things that young butch men such as meself do nowadays.

Sadly never got to complete my editing intership at Bleacher. Amazing how they've changed the site so hope to resume the roundtable series next month. In the meantime feel free to roam through my articles and leave some inflammatory messages in my inbox.

I grew up in the Bay Area, and watched all the bay area sports teams and the various dynasties (Niners, Warriors, Giants, A's). But once we hosted the '94 World Cup, I became hooked on soccer, er, football! This was only confirmed when I traveled abroad and met football fans in other countries. The camaraderie, the international language that is football, it really unites and bridges the divide among sports fans around the world. I began to follow the US Mens National Team during that time and haven't looked back. I watch every match and read as many articles as I can about the team, it's players. It's great watching the sport grow in our country and it's awesome to be able to write about US Soccer too, that is my passion.

When I'm not watching soccer, you can find me writing about ...

I have been here now for seven months, and I finally will write a proper bio (somewhat).

I originally became a sports fan by watching some major sporting events without realizing it (1998 World Cup final, 1999 Champions League final, 1999 MLB Playoffs etc), and from the excitement that I got from watching these games, I started to take a deeper interest into many different types of sports all throughout the world.

Around six months ago, I was searching Google when I came across an article that criticized Federico Macheda after he scored the winning goal for Manchester United over Aston Villa that Sunday, which was on this site. After seeing it and reading it, I realized that I could write something better than that, and that caused me to start my career here on B/R.

During my ...

I am a fan of just about all sports. I know football the best and love to break down games and do my best to try to predict winners. I have taught myself the game of hockey and now enjoy the game and would love to see it grow. I will write about any and everything in the sports world and I hope everyone enjoys.

In the draw for World Cup 2010 Spain and England will mysteriously get the easiest groups.
During the cup all decisions will also go their way and their main competitors for the title should find life unpleasant or unlucky decision- wise in their respective matches.
SB prediction posted Sep.10, 2009.
