In late August, 1951, I went home to watch Flash Gordon on New York's channel 11, but I was disappointed. There was a baseball game on channel 11. I started to watch, and that was it. I became a Yankees' fan.
We have many roles in our lives, but we are told that we are individuals and that our baseball team is not us. To each her own. Few things besides family ever came before the Yankees. One can agree or disagree, but one cannot deny I had the right to that choice.
I received my doctorate from NYU in science education in 1968. I remember during one of my final conferences with my advisor, the Yankees beat the Angels 1-0 on a Frank Fernandez home run.
I taught at various levels, ranging from graduate school to junior high school for 39 years. I always enjoyed writi...

I'm a teacher, caddy, writer, and daddy.
There are three deep cuts in my heart. My sports heart.
1976. Final Four. A Jersey-boy roots for Rutgers. I'd graduate from RU fourteen-years later.
1977. The Sun Bowl. From snowy New Jersey, that same Jersey-boy would watch the orange-helmeted University of Florida Gators play Texas A&M. I'd leave my heart in Gainesville as an undergraduate.
My whole life. New York is the baseball capital of the country. Born and raised in New Jersey, I had no choice. The Yankees were offered to me. They stuck.
And to this day, I die hard for all three teams. I'd been scarred.

I am a 25-year-old aspiring baseball writer. I grew up to stories of Willie Mays, the Miracle Mets and the Bronx Zoo from my father. Although my playing days never amounted to much, baseball has always remained my passion. I moved to Boston from the midwest and have come to both enjoy and loathe the hype and hysteria of living in the heart of Red Sox Nation. The Twins are my team, a result of being born and raised in Iowa and attending college in Minnesota. Although I'd consider myself a baseball fan first and foremost and a Twins fan second. If you're ever in the mood to talk baseball, or any sport for that matter, you can drop me a line or leave a comment on my blog.

I am a young Lebanese-Canadian writer who has great passion for football. I am the co-community leader for Serie A alongside my friend Daniel Penza on Bleacher Report.
I enjoy watching, talking, playing, reading and obviously writing about football. I am a huge fan of Serie A football and my big, impersonal mission on B/R is to hype Serie A and help B/R continue on growing.
My favorite kinds of writing include sarcastic humor which is best-flavored with a good story as a background for an article in order for the humor to have a clear objective which is to criticize a flow and try to provide a motive to bring change.
I hold rebellious ideas in the world of politics. Yet these tendencies are covered up with a modernized mentality and yet some classical beliefs that are essentia...

A simple Nascar fan from Cali trying to bring a different writing style, as well as a different perspective to our sport! I’ve met alot of drivers there, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, David Gilliland, JJ Yeley, Jason Leffler, Ron Hornaday, Joey Logano just to name a few. I can be very opinionated at times, because of the high energy level that NASCAR brings out in its fans. I always try to write for the sport, without being biased towards any driver or team. I admit I used to play the game where I was focused on moving up the ladder at B/R, trying my best to be the top writer and all that. But now I no longer pimp my articles, or look for websites to artificially increase readership, and I'm satisified writing what I want and not some nonsence just to attract reads.
Yep, I spent about a year ranked #1 in MLB and the Cubs, and was ranked as high as #2 overall on the site at one time. These days, I am happy simply contributing to the site and allowing others to take the mantle.
I think I am still the Chicago Cubs community leader, and I know I am a featured columnist for the Cubs and Bears. I have written more than 500 articles, though I ca...

I'm from a small town in central Pennsylvania named West Decatur, which is about 45 minutes west of Penn State University. That is where I got my Bachelor's Degree in Communication, where I specialized in writing and broadcasting. My main focus was on sports, as can be seen by my articles. I'm into football, mainly the Steelers and the Nittany Lions (obviously), basketball, baseball, and also some MMA fighting, but my real passion is motorsports.
Since I was five, I have been a fan of anything that had to do with motorsports. I am a huge fan of NASCAR. The first driver I cheered for was Davey Allison because of his exuberance and driving. He had so much ahead of him that it was tragic that it all ended so suddenly in 1993. Since then, I have jumped on the wagon of Jeff Gordon ...

I enjoy four things; eating tacos, watching people eat tacos, making taco sand castles and watching old Bengals highlight videos. Also, when I'm in Pittsburgh I like to do whatever I can to make the city a worse piece of trash then it already is, this could include peeing on a sidewalk, giving alcohol to their homeless, littering and making sure my car is letting out extra exhaust.
I was born three days after the Bengals played the Chargers in the Freezer Bowl which is actually rather depressing because it means that I popped out of the womb just in time to see the Bengals get smashed 20-0 in the first half of Super Bowl XVI.
I graduated from Miami University in Ohio (2005), I hate the University of Miami in Florida because every time I tell people I went to Miami they say, 'Oh...

I have been writing sports since 2000, covering the NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers for the now-defunct Football Network, and for Lindy's online. In recent years, I have blogged about West Virginia football, following the Mountaineers during their 2006 and 2007 seasons, both of which ended with January bowl victories. I really cannot take credit for those wins, but it sure was fun being a part of it.
I have also written two novels, with a 1970s pine-riding college football wideout protagonist in the earlier one, and with the same guy as a loser stockbroker during the go-go years of the '80s in the other.

I have been following college football, specifically Auburn football, since 1994. I was a co-host and eventually host of a sports talk show called "The Dream" on WEGL 91.1 FM for two and a half years. I am just an amateur sports guy, and I always have an opinion on what is going on in the world of sports. My opinion is usually never "objective and un-biased." I'm a fan first, and one is to never forget that in the world of sports. Feel free to contact me at any time at P_Tiger_scrug@yahoo.com.

Tom Kessler believes that it's bad luck to be superstitious.
He is unapologetically apologetic.
Kessler prints all his black and white photos in color and will kill anyone who challenges his pacifism. He gets strange looks at traffic lights with NPR's "All Things Considered" thumping from his sound system.
Kessler has an unusually large "personal space" requirement…and if someone invades his space, he'll start talking like Richard Simmons very loudly.
Kessler lives in Central Florida, and is an alumnus of The University of Florida. He spent 15 years working for The Walt Disney World Resort including a four year stint in production at The ESPN Club. While there, Kessler had the opportunity to meet many high profile athletes. His conclusions? They all make...

As a former FSU student, I have been a close follower of all things 'Seminole.' I am still friends with of some of the players of the 1999-2003 teams, whom I often tutored in subjects ranging from Sociology to Economics. I hold a typical 9-5 job, and I just find blogging and writing a worthwhile means of escaping the typical daily routine. I am a statistics guy, and I do a ton of homework to find that one "did you know?" factoid.
I am more interested in writing as a means to consider the extraordinary, the unique, and the surprising, rather than things people find themselves rehashing over and over again.
A famous quote I once read was, "We do what we have to do, until we can do what we want to do."
Well I hope that you find my opinions intriguing, and fi...

I am a journalism student at Loyola University Chicago. I am a junior, and have been a Cubs fan since 1997. I'm engaged, to an incredible woman named Maria, which should probably have been the first thing I wrote but which I'm sure is less important to all of you than to me.
I envision myself as both a writer and a baseball analyst, and am committed to writing only articles that are well-researched and thought-provoking. I'm trying to be objective and to treat issues regarding my Cubbies with cool restraint, but you'll find that at heart, I'm a pretty unabashed homer.
