I grew up in Pittsburgh and bleed black and gold. I'm most passionate about the Steelers and Penguins but also follow the Pirates (when they aren't 100 games out of contention). I am now a roving member of Steelers Nation, having lived in several different places over the last twenty years, but have never had a hard time finding lots of Steelers fans regardless of where we have ended up. I'm also a big college football fan, following Air Force (and the Mountain West Conference), Pitt and Penn State. My wife and I have three girls who I am working on turning into Steeler diehards.

The 1st picture of me ever taken was in a Steelers' shirt. The Steelers (and the NFL) are my passion. Until last season when I was able to change my days off to Sunday & Monday, I would take a vacation day every time the Steelers played. I bleed black & gold.
I also love Penn St. football. I became a fan of the Nittany Lions during my freshman year of high school. Until then I would watch college football but focused mainly on pro football. I was drawn to the Nittany Lions for a couple of reasons. One being that I live in the heart of Buckeye country and for whatever reason just didn't like them. And two being that I like and respect Joe Paterno.
The Cincinnati Reds became my favorite team while I was playing Little League, I played SS and was looking for ...

5 - Brian Carson
Writer bio
Brian Carson was born in Central Pennsylvania in 1966 and fell in love with sports by the time he was six years old. Football and hockey were his favorites and he has spent many frustrating, sometimes exciting, years rooting for the St. Louis Rams and Boston Bruins.

Sports never left him and Brian continued to write for various Internet sports sights and blogs - including the Pennsylvania Football News.
Brian is now committed to coming back as a sportswriter on a full-time basis, on the Internet, with the Bleacher Report as his launching pad.

I will be attending CSU East Bay, and will pursue my Masters Degree in Public Relations, with a minor in Journalism. I played Football in High School for the East Union Lancers, in Manteca, CA. I coached a Junior HIgh Baseball team known as the Woodward Mustangs for two years, but figured out that Football is my passion, baseball is a hobby.
Thank you all who have shown support, and continue to read my work.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and have grown up a die-hard Steelers fan. I've also grown up with two Virginia Tech graduates and so I developed a loyalty to the Hokies. My other major loyalty lies with Coach Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils. My Grandfather played basketball for Duke and it is his influence that has made me one of the Duke faithful. I am currently a Newpaper Journalism Major at Syracuse University with aspirations to become a profesional sports writer. My weak point as a writer is most certianly my lack of skills in the area of spelling and grammar. So if you find mistakes in that catagory please point them so I can improve in this area.
