My name is Steve Thompson and I am writing in Bleacher Report because I love writing and would love to be doing sports journalism as a full time paying job. I live in Toronto, Ontario. Currently I am stuck in a dead-end job that doesn't pay me much so any readers of this profile who enjoy my writing and can help me get a job in that profession will be much appreciated. I also have written 3 novels, 40 short stories, 2 plays, and 4 poetry books, all unpublished. Again, anybody who would like to help me get published would be most appreciated.

I aspire to be a sports journalist.

During the summer, I got a job with the Regina Leader Post newspaper. I have been working their for a couple of months doing local sports roundups and recording scores. I never though I would have a job at a newspaper in my first year of university.

I played hockey since I was 5 years old both as a player and a goalie. First as a goalie for my first 5 or 6 years, then as a player for 4 years to finally go back to good old goaltending since.

Goaltending is my forte as I am currently (secretly) training for next season.

I am not talking about NHL here right off the bat, just relax hehehe...

But am sure will be looking for a pro training camp come next june/july/august. I am browsing different european leagues and north american leagues right now.

J.R. is a proud alumnus of Cal State Long Beach, after already earning a couple AA degrees at Long Beach City College. Currently, he is working towards a couple of Master's Degrees at Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.
