Analyzing the Hitman's Claims: Should Melina Be Spoken of As the Best?

Melina, the current divas champion...and the best wrestler in the world? What? That can't be true.

If you are anything like me that is the exact reaction you had when you heard that Bret Hart had said he felt Melina was the best wrestler in the world. I mean, sure she is an okay diva and a decent wrestler, but what has she done to warrant being called the best in the world? Or what has she done to earn praise from Bret "the Hitman" Hart, one of the best technical wrestlers to ever step in the ring?

These had to be the same thoughts that were moving through your head when you read this article .

Now at first I thought that perhaps my favorite wrestler ever was getting senile in his old age, or perhaps the concussion that retired him was finally getting to him. Then I thought about it —Melina is an okay wrestler and surely she has done something to earn such high praise from Bret. So I decided to give Bret's claims a chance and take a look at exactly what made him say such things.

After a little research and watching a fair few of matches, this is the evidence I have found.

1) Innovation

Melina has taken part in a little bit of innovation in her WWE career. She was in the first women's falls count anywhere match in WWE history, a Women's Championship defense against Mickie James. More than half of the match took place outside the ring, and it featured slamming into the barricades, the floor, and the ramp along with a great deal of hair pulling. The match ended in the ring after Mickie missed a top rope Hurricanrana and Melina picked up the pin.

Melina also had the honor of competing in the first ever Women's I quit match at One Night Stand 2008. This match was a losing effort against Beth Phoenix. The match featured a lot of good in-ring action. The better spots in the match featured Melina reversing a glam slam attempt driving Beth's head into the middle turnbuckle and when Melina reversed a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker into an armbar.

The end of the match came after Beth Phoenix hit a Glam Slam and had Melina locked in it for a full twenty seconds. Melina, however, refused to quit until Beth readjusted the hold and hooked underneath Melina's chin and contorted her body into basically a ball. Melina lasted another full ten seconds before quitting.

2) Matches

Melina's matches —what can be said about them? Well, recently they have been a little botchy; however, she has been working non-stop for the last year, so we can take that with a grain of salt. We should not be so selfish as to only include recent matches —we should look at all of them. However, I can only narrow it down to one signature match.

If I had to pick a signature match for Melina it would have to be the "I quit" match. The match really was good and it had a decent timeslot. It showed off Melina's technical skills fairly well. The match often gets a bad rap because it was featured on a card that had all matches with extreme stipulations and really wasn't that extreme. However, from a technical stand point the match still holds up.

3) Flexibility

When one is making a case for Melina as the best in the world, it would be fool hardy not to include one of the best things she has going for her. Melina's natural flexibility is just phenomenal; it is best showed off in her now infamous entrance in the form of the split. As impressive as her natural flexibility as, it is useless when standing on its own but does come in handy when discussing our next section.

4) Spots

Melina does have the ability to pull off fairly memorable spots in her more "high profile" matches such as at PPVs which in some ways can make or break the match. When one is thinking of Melina's spots please remember these aren't high spots, so please do not think of anything too Hardy like.

One of the spots that really shows off Melina's flexibility came at the Royal Rumble from this past year in a match against Beth Phoenix. The match, while it was fairly good, was largely forgettable except for one key spot when Beth Phoenix had Melina locked in a Single Leg Boston Crab. She had the hold locked in very tight, and it seemed sure that Melina would submit when Beth did one of the weirdest and sickest things I've ever seen done in a wrestling match —she actually started to hit Melina in the back of her head with her own foot. Now this spot may seem strange to you, but it would have been impossible without Melina's natural flexibility.

Another of Melina's better spots also came earlier this year at Night of Champions in a match against Michelle McCool. The match had the two spill to the outside a number of times, but the highest point in the match came when Melina and Michelle were fighting on the barricade. McCool actually hit Melina with a DDT onto the barricade. It is also noteworthy that this was one of the better woman's matches of this year. That is something to be said in this current day and age, but it is often overshadowed by a woman's match that took place later that night, Mickie James versus Maryse.

5) Opponents

Melina has had her fair share of matches and opponents over her career. However, it can be said her signature opponent when she was a heel was Mickie James, and her signature opponent as a face is Beth Phoenix. Whenever she meets either one in the ring the outing is sure to be decent, and if you aren't the biggest fan of woman's wrestling, watchable.

Melina has also locked horns with Candice Michelle, Torrie Wilson, Ashley Massaro, Trish Stratus, and Michelle McCool. Many are also looking forward to the upcoming matches she is going to have with Maryse.

6) Move-set

Melina has got to have the largest or second largest move-set of any diva on the current WWE diva. It consists mostly of mat-based moves and submissions and is not that bad from a technical standpoint if I do say so myself. Some of her more notable moves include the Pendulum Backbreaker, Bodyscissors, Neckscissors, Armbar, Bow and Arrow strech, and the rear Chinlock.

Her finishers are also a fundamental part of her move-set. We have the two she currently uses a leg trap sunset flip powerbomb known as the Last Call, or the L.A. Sunset for those familiar with her Indy days, and the inverted leg drop bulldog into a pin she calls the Primal Scream, named after her signature shout.

Then we have the finishers she used as a heel, which I feel are significantly better. One of them is the California Dream, or the Kyrapractor from the Indy circuit, which is a Muta lock. The other is called the Extreme Makeover, and that is charging bulldog.

7) Championships

Melina has had a lot of success in terms of titles in the WWE. She is a three time women's champion and is the current diva's champion. In a kind note, she is also the first person of Mexican descent to hold the women's championship in its prestigious history. Her title reigns last long enough for her not to be considered a transitional champion.

Her first women's championship title reign lasted 64 days, her second lasted 41 days, her last women's championship lasted 154 days and her diva's championship title reign was at the 55 day mark at the time of publications. It should be noted that her first women's championship title reign ended the same day her second reign began. Both changes took place at a house show.

That is a total of 314 days, which translates to about ten months, as champion. That isn't that bad considering Melina has only been an active singles wrestler for about 2 1/2 to three years.

Final Thoughts/Analysis

Melina's extreme matches in comparison to some of the extreme woman's matches on the Indy circuit, and even some of the matches in TNA, are, in truth, not all that extreme. However it does say a lot of her that the WWE would trust her enough to allow her to compete in matches that are "firsts." Firsts are very important in a lot of aspects, mainly that they set a standard. Melina's matches did set some form of a standard, and if WWE ever has one of these firsts again, I think I know where they will turn.

When one looks at Melina's spots we must take special care to make sure we are talking about spots, not high spots. One thing I noticed about Melina's best spots is that she is on the receiving end of them. This indicates a very special form of trust between her and her opponent and this trust proves a lot.

Let us take another look at the spot with the DDT on the barricade, with any spot there is a chance for injury, but this one had so many things that could have gone wrong with it. Melina could have gotten a concussion, McCool could have landed wrong, they could have missed the barricade, etc. However nothing went wrong and they pulled it off. Furthermore, Melina was able to finish the match and walk away unscathed. This shows that she knows how to take a bump, a very important feature in any good wrestler.

When talking about her matches they are good, but just look at her opponents, her two best opponents, Mickie James and Beth Phoenix, sure they are at the top of the division and sure Melina has had good matches with them but just look at who they are. Mickie and Beth are two of the best female wrestlers in the company. It would be difficult to not have a good match with them. However this does say something about Melina because if you can't have a good match with someone whom is above your level as a wrestler, there is no case to be made for being the best in the world, and you'd be like the Great Khali.

Let us turn instead to another one of her more noted opponents, Michelle McCool. Melina has had good matches with McCool. This says a lot about Melina because McCool is, at least, at Melina's level. Melina has shown that she is capable of having good matches with wrestlers at her level. However there aren’t many circumstances when Melina has been in there with someone at her level, so we lack evidence to see if she can do it consistently. We may have our answer to if she can if this feud with Maryse goes well.

To my extreme annoyance, I have found that Melina's matches with wrestlers at a lower level than her have either been too short or an absolute joke, so I cannot determine if she is capable of carrying someone at a lower level than her to a good match.

Melina may have one of the best move-sets out of the current crop of divas; however there is one issue with this. Due to the current staple of divas matches being three or four minutes in length, Melina lacks a stage in which to show it. This makes her matches feel unfinished at times. They start to build but she has to end it quickly due to the weak timeslot.

Melina seems to be one of the people WWE knows they can count on when she is holding a title. She has the company's trust which is always a good thing to have. This makes her title runs fairly good, and strong, if not always memorable. She may need sometime off, however, as her performance is degrading slowly.

As for Melina's flexibility, I believe her trainers at Empire wrestling federation, a promotion that watchers of wrestlevision would be familiar with, said it best when many of them said of her "she has the most natural ability of any woman who came through our school."

Conclusion

So overall does Melina deserve the title of best in the world?

No, I don't think so yet.

Melina is great in the ring and she does deserve praise from both peers and fans alike. She does have a long of potential, a good skill set, and hopefully a long career ahead of her. She is definitely one of the best female performers WWE has right now, and when one is discussing the top twenty or thirty woman's wrestlers in the world she has a strong case to earn one of those spots.

However, she hasn't shown enough consistency to earn a number one spot. She may earn that spot in due time if she is given the platform to show off her skills and develop her potential. TNA, whom shows a good deal of respect towards its woman's division and have their fair share of great female talent, may be that platform. The WWE can also be that platform for her if they layoff with the short timeslots and give Melina and all their divas a chance to show what they can do. If they do so, we may see Melina cash in on her great potential and truly earn the title of best in the world.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

A New Monday Night War Is Upon Us: TNA vs. WWE Is On

It is now set in stone, TNA will take on WWE, Jan. 4, in what will be the first time the WWE has had Monday night competition in eight years. This is a very exciting time for wrestling fans as it could bring in another new era.

WWE has had almost no competition since Vince bought out WCW and ECW in 2001. TNA has been the closest thing to them and they only draw in the ratings of ECW at their best, but this could all change soon.

With the signing of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to TNA, along with the recent acquisition of Bobby Lashley, TNA has been making headlines.

This newest venture by Dixie Carter and TNA is sure to garner even more main stream media attention. TNA has stated that their show will be a three-hour long special, and it has also been rumored that WWE will combat this with their own three-hour special.

This means that we will have six hours of wrestling to watch to determine who did it better that night.

Something that TNA needs to do in order to look like a serious competitor is have the show in a real arena, and not on their sound stage. By doing this, they will have the look of a real wrestling company and not the look of WCW in 1991.

Carter has been making a lot of waves in the wrestling community lately with all of her appearances and business decisions.

We have seen her more times in the past year than in TNA’s entire history before then. This says something to me, it say she is serious about making a splash.

What will TNA do during this special to attract viewers? Could we see a collegiate battle between Angle and Lashley, arguably the two biggest names on the roster?

Could we see AJ Styles take on five other guys in a cage for the title? Could we see a Team 3D ladder match just to throw it in WWE’s face? The one thing I am sure we will see is a major surprise.

TNA has made a trend out of having big reveals and keeping them under wraps. Jeff Hardy’s first match comes to mind. Having Jarrett smash Hogan with a guitar years ago was a bit shocking. Perhaps it is easier for the smaller company to keep secrets because they get less attention.

I will certainly be DVRing both shows in order to make my decision of who had the better line up. It's still a while before this new war will begin, but it is still exciting to think about.

Who do you think will emerge the top dog after the fight, WWE or TNA?

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

What If No. 1: What If Goldberg Never Ended Bret Hart's Career

I have decided to start writing some articles which focus on what the landscape of wrestling might be like today if certain events either never happened or simply happened differently.

For my first entry, I have decided to write about Bret Hart and the career that could have been.

Any wrestling fan knows how Bret Hart left the ring for good.

He was given a botched mule kick by Bill Goldberg, which caused a serious concussion, thus ending the career of "The Hitman."

Bret has gone on record saying that he doesn't blame Bill for what happened and that he knew the dangers of pro wrestling a long time ago.

But I can't help but wonder what might have happened if this tragic incident never occurred.

Bret was World Heavyweight Champion of WCW when the injury forced him to leave the ring.

He was one of WCW’s most popular wrestlers, and he was sure to have many more years in him at that point.

Now, no one will argue that Bret’s time in WCW was a complete waste and that the company never fully utilized him to his fullest potential.

Granted, he was a two-time world champ in WCW, but that was after he was mistakenly put into the U.S. title hunt by Bischoff.

Both Vince McMahon and Bret himself have said that WCW had no idea how to use a guy like him.

Instead, they threw him into matches with his old opponents from the '90s, like Flair, Henning, and Piper.

These were horrible choices by the WCW team, and they resulted in Bret being overshadowed by the same guys we had seen at the top for a long time at that point.

Goldberg ended Bret’s career on Dec. 19, 1999, only two years before the WWE would buy out WCW.

A lot of people will say that his career ended on Sept. 6, 2000, but it is well known that his post-concussion syndrome was started during the match with Goldberg.

What If Goldberg never hit Bret, and he never suffered multiple concussions?

Would Bret have gone to the WWE during the Invasion?

Would he have quit wrestling altogether?

Would we being seeing him in TNA right now?

The sad thing is that no one knows the answers to these questions, because we were robbed of these possibilities by an inexperienced wrestler, who was pushed to the top too fast, only to fall from glory a few years later.

I personally don’t blame Goldberg, but I know a lot of people do. And that’s fine, those people are welcome to their opinion.

So, If Bret had never had to retire, would he have gone back to WWE during the buyout?

Probably not.

He still, to this day, says some negative things about Vince and, at the point of the buyout, had not made up with him yet.

I know that Bret is in the HOF, but that happened only a couple years ago and almost didn’t happen.

He only recently expressed an interest in doing anything with WWE again, so a return at that time would have been unlikely.

The fact remains, we don’t know what would have happened.

It is possible he would have returned to WWE, but only Bret knows what would have happened.

Would Bret have retired when WCW went under?

I think that is even less likely than him going back to the WWE.

Bret is a born wrestler, and he would never have stopped just because his company went out of business.

He was at the top of his game and could have worked anywhere in the world for any wrestling company he wanted.

I think he would have ended up in Japan for awhile after WCW, if he had been able to.

Would Bret be in TNA right now?

This is one that I can’t decide on.

He has said many times that he respects what TNA has done for the business, but, because of their fledgling status up until this past year, I think this most likely would not have happened either.

He could have begun making appearances around now, since TNA is growing at a quick rate.

Unlike Sting, I don’t think Bret would have gone to TNA so early in their development.

He was a huge star and would have been too big for the tiny company.

The possibilities are all there, but, unfortunately, no one will ever know what would have happened.

What do you think would have become of "The Hitman" had he never been forced to retire due to injury?

It's Confirmed: TNA iMPACT Vs WWE RAW On January 4, 2010

We all saw it coming when Hulk Hogan signed with TNA Wrestling. It was only a matter of time before TNA decided to move a show to Monday Night. It looks as if they are testing that out, as Spike TV has allowed TNA to have a LIVE TNA iMPACT on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010.

This will of course go head-to-head with WWE RAW, and is the first time two promotions went against one another head-to-head on Monday night since the Monday Night Wars in the '90s.

This will also be the night Hulk Hogan makes his iMPACT debut. On top of that the show is going to be a three hour special, which means that it will be on an hour before RAW, which would hopefully help to steal some RAW viewers.

However, the WWE is not taking this lying down of course. It is rumored that the WWE has asked USA Network if they can do a three hour RAW on the same night! This is not confirmed as of yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it come to pass.

The WWE has a lot of pull with the USA Network, and usually when they want a three hour show, they get it. Some have even been hearing that this Monday Night RAW will also be commercial free, which means no one would have time to switch over to iMPACT. This is also rumored and not yet confirmed.

The WWE did do quite well in their last commercial free show, scoring some of the highest ratings for RAW since the '90s when they went head-to-head with WCW.

I know what you are going to say: Joe the only reason they scored so high was because there were World Title matches and on top of that Donald Trump was there as the new owner of RAW and people wanted to know more about it, so they tuned in.

You think the WWE won't do something similar this time around? I'm sure Trump won't make an appearance, and RAW won't be sold. But there may be World Title matches and on top of that The Great One is rumored to be hosting RAW in January.

It has been talked about for some time now that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be hosting in January. So the WWE may want to bring him in at this time seeing as it is a big show for them.

TNA won't move to Monday Night if they see RAW getting massive ratings against them. Sure, they can't do gimmicks weekly, but neither can TNA. Hogan can only make one debut, meaning if he is there every week it will be nothing special.

Rocky would be similar, but at least with RAW you have a different host every week and some of the top names in wrestling who can still go are there, not so with TNA.

TNA has some big names of course, but because WWE is still the powerhouse in the industry, TNA is not going to dethrone them anytime soon. Also, I remember during the Monday Night Wars that both promotions in WWE and WCW really stepped it up.

I am all for another war, simply because of the great shows we would see. But will TNA get the best ratings? Probably not. At least with WCW they had a ton of top names and their marketing was really good.

TNA doesn't have that, and not many top names are clamoring to go to TNA like they were with WCW. The only people who go there are ones who are let go by the WWE. So basically TNA is getting WWE rejects.

Now, there are a few who are there that simply let their current deal with the WWE expire or quit the WWE before going to TNA. But when you think about it, all of those people are older vets who are really not great in the ring anymore. Sure, Kurt Angle is still pretty good, but he is probably the only top name vet there from the WWE who can still go just as good as he did in the WWE.

TNA has a lot of work to do to get to the level of the WWE. Think of this, back when WWE and WCW were at war, the WWE was not as big as they are now and they still ended up winning in the end. Now they are huge in the public eye while TNA is still trying to get there.

Will I watch both shows? Yes. I mean the invention of TiVo and the DVR has really helped me out, and that is something WCW and the WWE didn't have to help them back in the '90s. Also, those recordings count as ratings as long as they are watched within a week after the recording.

So both will get views, but which will the fans prefer? That is the question that will hopefully be answered in 2010. It looks like the year is starting off well for wrestling fans if you ask me. But if you had to choose between which show you would watch, what would it be, RAW or iMPACT?

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

WWE: How Much Longer Can It Continue? No More Dead Wrestlers

I've added this revision because after re-reading my piece; I feel it needs this. Though my article focused more on the wrestling industry as a whole, the death of Eddie Fatu, Umaga, has adversely affected me more than I revealed in the original writing.

As I said, this piece was more of a reach out to the wrestlers who are still left, but I feel the need to add this one bit of previously unwritten information.

Eddie Fatu was one of the greatest big men in the wrestling industry and will always be my favorite big man to watch in the ring.

Godspeed Eddie Fatu and my thoughts and prayers are with the Anoai wrestling family. On behalf of the wrestling world, he will be missed.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to write a piece about this. I certainly have no intention on being the guy who writes a sensational article, blasting WWE for the topic at hand.

And I'm no dirt sheet writer: I'm not here to talk about drugs and how screwed up pro wrestlers are, and how its their own fault that tragedies like this one continue to happen.

As a fan and most importantly, as a human being, I'm simply paying my respects and getting my sentiments out on the table.

Former WWE Superstar Eddie Fatu, better known to the WWE Universe as the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga, died yesterday in a hospital at age 36.

Umaga's release from the WWE in June is really no secret. Anyone who gets released for drug related issues gets their story plastered on the Internet dirt sheets, not to mention WWE's new policy of announcing names and infractions when it comes to their Wellness Policy.

Eddie Fatu was released on his second strike, not even making it to his third strike for his refusal to enter rehabilitation for his drug problem. And though we don't know if his fatal heart attacks were caused by drug use, his life still ended so much sooner than it should have.

My question for you, the wrestling fans, is a simple one: How much longer will we let it go on?

Sure, there are things out there. There are rehab centers such as Talbott Recovery Campus which, to my knowledge, is still the best addiction treatment center in the country. There is also Wrestler's Rescue , a program devoted to helping professional wrestlers, past and present, battle their demons.

But, how many have been saved and how many have been lost? Though it pains me to do so, and many of you will probably want to roast me on a spit, I have to go through the laundry list.

Since 2003, the WWE alone has lost Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Bam Bam Bigelow, Miss Elizabeth, Crash Holly, Andrew "Test" Martin, Sensational Sherri, Curt Hennig, better known as Mr. Perfect, and as of yesterday, Eddie Fatu, better known as Umaga.

That only scratches the tip of the iceberg. According to stats given on Yahoo! Answers:

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

MORE than 100 wrestlers have died before reaching the age of 50 in the last 12 years.

Of the 106 wrestlers who passed away between 1997 and 2009, 42 were full-time professionals who worked regularly for a large promotion or territory in the United States and Canada.

The other 64 wrestled part-time for many of North America's smaller independent groups, in the hope of one day finding their fame and fortune in the industry.

Twenty-five percent of all 106 of these wrestlers have at one time worked under WWF/WWE. The other 75 percent have never once step foot inside a WWF/WWE ring.

Credit to Yahoo! Answers. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090314170532AAwA8Uv

That figure is not only disturbing, it's extremely saddening. Though some of these gladiators died of natural causes or disease, a lot of the deaths have been drug related.

There are lists out there if you want the exact names and causes of death. I'm not a mortician and as I said, I'm not here to sensationalize it. I'm simply writing because it helps me to vent.

As someone who grew up watching most of the wrestlers who show up on these lists, it saddens me to know that so many of them died before they reached the age of 50.

If that's not disturbing enough, the age seems to be cutting back into the 40s and even the 30s. Eddie Fatu's death was saddening, but not as saddening as the fact that he was only 36 years old.

So I can ask the question again and perhaps, now that I've vented a bit, I can rephrase it so it isn't quite as harsh: What can we do to prevent it from continuing?

There isn't much that wrestling fans in general can really do to intervene. Donate to Wrestlers Rescue or do fundraisers. Whatever fits into your schedule and time.

The way I look at it, these men and women go out night after night and ravage their bodies so I can be entertained for several hours at a time.

So, the least I can do is offer up a few hours of my time to try to help save their lives. Even if there's nothing I can do, I'm not going to be satisfied until I know I've at least attempted. That's all I'm asking any of you to do.

You guys read my articles and give me feedback because you enjoy reading my articles. So, this is my outlet. This is my forum and my soapbox.

Take a moment of your time and research the statistics and the harsh reality of the professional wrestling industry. Try to figure out if there's anything you can do to help the men and women that are still alive and still battling their demons.

Eddie Guerrero was an inspiration to me. Anyone who has never read his autobiography, Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story, needs to get themselves a copy because it's truly an eye-opening read.

And even though he found his place of inner peace and rid himself of his demons, his salvation came a bit too late. His body shut down on him, as a result of what he did.

There is perhaps no death in professional wrestling that hit me as profoundly as Eddie Guerrero's, because if anyone can be called a success, if anyone in professional wrestling history has earned a place amongst the legends that line the walls of the Hall of Fame, it's Eddie.

As a writer, this is a biased article, and I expect you, my readers, to understand that. Though biased writing is not typically my thing, this is a subject that is near and dear to my heart.

Anyone can make comments, or pass judgment on these people for the mistakes that they have made and in the case of many of them, their mistakes cost them their lives. But they were human beings and had just as much right to life as any of us do.

So, I implore anyone reading this: Check out the Wrestlers Rescue site, research the facts if you haven't already, and let's give back to the industry that has sacrificed and given so much to each of us. Let's do whatever is in our power to reach out and try to help the wrestlers that are still among us, that are still battling their demons.

I'm not saying to go out and pledge a hundred bucks of your hard earned money. I'm not asking you to line the streets like PETA and protest anything. Even just taking a few minutes of your time to understand the situation that many of these men and women are in would bring them one step closer to help. To life.

The people I've spoken of today have devoted their lives to us, to people they don't even know. In the case of many of them, their lives ended the same way: In service to millions of people they've never even met before.

Let's take a stand and let them know:

We believe in you. We understand.

Comments and questions may be left here or through email at KidMikaze2007@aim.com

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

If Drug Addicts in Wrestling Didn't Learn Before, They Did Now

As many of you know by now, the wrestling world lost Umaga (Eddie Fatu) yesterday, Dec. 4, 2009. It was quite a shame, too, as Fatu was probably the best wrestler ever at his size.

Over 300 lbs, he could fly around the ring like a guy half his size. He was amazing to watch, in my opinion, and will be missed.

However, as I said when I reported the news on Fatu yesterday, the death is believed to have been caused by prescription drugs. Now, no one is clear on that of course, and until the autopsy comes back in a few weeks, I can't confirm that either.

But we all know Fatu had a drug problem. He was suspended twice by the WWE after failing a wellness test that they instituted around the time Eddie Guerrero passed away. After he failed his second test, he was offered two choices:

Go to Rehab

Decide against rehab, and be released

Fatu chose the release, which is sad to see. It is believed that he had a prescription pain pill addiction and was using them a lot more around the time he failed his second test mainly because he just got back from a leg injury, of which he had surgery and missed significant time away from the ring.

Like a lot of people, Fatu had trouble getting off of the pain pills after his surgery. It is not unheard of for a person to be on pain killers given to them by doctors and then have trouble getting off of them afterward.

In fact, I know a few people who had the same issue. It was believed that Fatu was getting away from pain pills as of late and rarely used them according to those close. He probably thought that going to rehab when the WWE asked him to would hurt him more than help him.

He was said to have had more issues than just a pain pill addiction, and that could be why the WWE wanted him to go into rehab.

He thought he could get off of the pills on his own which is why he decided against it, and as I said before, it was believed that he did get clean.

Of course, no one can keep an eye on him 24/7, not even his wife. So, he could have shown people that he was okay, but away from them he was abusing drugs.

People such as Jeff Hardy were offered rehab and decided against it as well. Hardy, like Fatu, was released as a result of that. Hardy has been known to have had a drug issue, this much is documented.

He went to TNA, where they could really care less about their wrestler's health as long as they are making them money, and wrestled there for a while.

He made his way back to the WWE after his run in TNA, and just when we thought Hardy was doing alright, he gets suspended right before Wrestlemania. And because he was going to be a part of the Money in the Bank Ladder match that year, the WWE took him out of it and he missed the show.

Hardy came back in the summer of that year, and vowed that he made a mistake and it wouldn't happen again. It seemed for a while that he lived up to his word. It seemed that, before he left the WWE a few months ago, he was finally clean and people didn't need to worry.

Then, all the sudden we hear of him getting into drug trafficking charges, of which many believe he was not selling, but using the drugs he had.

Another example is Hardcore Holly, who also had a drug issue, but unlike Fatu and Hardy he decided to go into rehab when the WWE offered it to him.

This is why he left the WWE all of a sudden and his partner Cody Rhodes became the new tag champs with Ted DiBiase.

Holly never really returned, as he left rehab early and it was thought he still wasn't clean. The WWE released him, which was sad to see.

The fact is that rehab was needed for all the above, and they needed to stay there until they were clean. Sure, a former drug addict could always go back to using again, but when a person goes to rehab, a lot of the time they manage to stay clean because they learn how to do so.

Rey Mysterio came out recently and said that he was going into rehab for his pain killer addiction. He said that he had has so many surgeries and injuries, and on top of that, he has to wrestle four to five times a week on the same places he hurt before.

Pain killers were needed for him to even move half the time he said. So it is understandable that he used them, but he said that he abused them a lot, too.

He mentioned that he didn't want to end up like his friend Eddie Guerrero, who died as a result of a heart attack that many believed happened because of his past with pain killer abuse.

I say good for Rey Rey; he has a family and wants to be there for them after his career is over and rehab can help him get clean.

Chris Benoit, a man who many in the wrestling world really hate for killing his wife and child then himself, also had a drug problem.

He never failed a drug test in the WWE, and many wondered how it was possible because the autopsy showed both pain killers and steroids in his system.

It was discovered that he had a brain issue, and that caused him to do the things he did. However, it was believed that because he had so many drugs in his system at the time, that the combination of those drugs caused him to do what he did.

The brain issue was caused by drug abuse according to doctors. It may have not been the steroids that caused it alone, because he combined drugs he went nuts one day.

Some think that he could have had thoughts of doing what he did before, but was not around his family at the time to do it when he went through the rage he was in.

Rehab has been wonderful for many people, and it can help wrestlers out a lot, why not go if you get a paid trip by the WWE to do so?

I am so tired of seeing people with such talent go down this road when they really don't have to do so.

We love watching these men and women, and sure, we want to see them do everything they can to entertain us. But if something is too much for them, they need to say so.

Pro-Wrestlers are used to being these big men or women who always do everything themselves, ones who never need help.

They need to get off their high horses and realize that it is not a question of wanting help, it's the fact that they NEED help sometimes.

If all of the other deaths due to drugs didn't get to them before, after Fatu's death wouldn't you think that something has to click?

You can die at any time for drug abuse, or for a past of dealing with it for so long. When you realize things are getting out of control, or notice something is for someone else, ask for help.

It doesn't make you weak to save a life, especially if it's your own.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Eddie "Umaga" Fatu: Bulldozing Into Fans' Hearts Until the Very End

This article was originally posted on TheSportsCourier.com .

On Dec. 4, 2009, the world of professional wrestling suffered yet another untimely loss. This time, it was Eddie Fatu, better known to most as former WWE superstar Umaga.

It has been reported that Fatu suffered a massive heart attack, which led to his death.

It's a real shame. He was one of the greatest super heavyweights ever and among my favorite competitors.

Usually I'm a wordsmith with articles, even ones that have touchy subjects, but it's really hard to put into text (or verbal words) how terrible of a loss this is.

For those that never witnessed Fatu's greatness, I have to say you missed out and should YouTube him A.S.A.P.

From the incredible intimidation to the phenomenal psychology to his ability to move like a cruiserweight at well over 300 pounds, the man known as Umaga wowed fans on a nightly basis.

Whether it was his hip-head-smasher-thing move, the Samoan Spike thumb strike to the Adam's Apple, or more importantly his great matches, Fatu always put on a show.

It sucks having writer's block, especially due to the shock of Fatu's death, as I really wish I could write a better tribute to the man.

At age 36, he was way too young to die. The man had a family, great career, and friends that loved him dearly. I don't know how else to say this but this sucks.

This is one of those days where quite frankly, it sucks to be a wrestling fan. I'm not saying drugs played a part in his death, despite WWE releasing him last June over his refusal to attend a rehabilitation center after a failed Wellness test.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in Fatu's passing. Should we be surprised anymore? I won't begin to speculate. There's plenty of sites that can do that.

Have wrestling fans become desensitized to death?

I don't know the answer to those questions above. I just know that one of my favorite wrestlers and greatest performers of his generation is dead at 36—another unfortunate victim of the wrestling epidemic.

Don't forget, folks, a wrestler doesn't have to be on drugs to suffer what happened to Fatu.

The human body can only take so much physical and emotional stress before it quits on you. That may very well be the case here.

No matter what led to his death.

It's important that fans remember Eddie Fatu as a great wrestler, a superstar who headlined WrestleMania 23 a.k.a. the highest selling wrestling pay-per-view ever (in a match vs. Bobby Lashley that also featured Vince McMahon and Donald Trump's hair on the line), and a family man that has exited this earth far too soon.

Rest in peace, Samoan Bulldozer.

Wrestling stars' on Umaga's passing via Twitter:

WWE's Maria: So sad. Eddie was a friend. He loved wrestling and was a great entertainer. My prayers go out to Eddie's beautiful family. A great loss.

Chris Jericho: Eddie Fatu was an awesome guy and one of the brothers. I trusted him and that's a rare thing for me. I am devastated.

Chavo Guerrero Jr.: Thank u 4 your prayers 4 Umaga. He will be missed!

JBL: Had a ball tag teaming with Eddie Fatu (known as Umaga in WWE) in some of my last house show (non TV) matches, I will miss my friend.

Eric Bischoff: My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Eddie Fatu (formerly known as Umaga). He was a great performer and a wonderful person.

Lilian Garcia: Just heard news about Eddie aka Umaga. So sad. Loved him. Prayers 4 him & family

TNA President Dixie Carter: On behalf of everyone at TNA, our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Fatu family.

TNA's Pope D'Angelo Dinero, said: "This is rough, very rough. My heart and prayers goes out to Umaga's wife, his boys, and family."

JTG: RIP MY FRIEND

Shannon Moore: R.I.P Ecki....Mad love and respect. We will miss you and I will cherish the times we had together.

Daniels: RIP Eddie Fatu. I'm glad I got to know you in the short time you were here.

Maryse: prayers for UMAGA and all his family!

Torrie Wilson: Much love my friend. Much love

Gangrel: Have a good journey ecki see you soon you where a ray of light in dark time one love uce

Matt Morgan: Me and my family's condolences to Eckie(Umaga)'s family. This just plain out SUCKS! Yet another great guy taken from us too early.

PAUL HEYMAN: The world is minus one very cool Samoan tonight. We offer our most profound condolences to the Fatu Family.

Eddie Fatu: WWE Releases Statement On The Death Of "Umaga"

The WWE has released the following statement on the death of Eddie Fatu (Umaga), who passed away earlier today at the age of 36:

“WWE would like to express its deepest condolences to Mr. Fatu’s family, friends and fans on his tragic passing. Mr. Fatu was under contract with WWE at various time periods and most recently performed under the name ‘Umaga.’ Mr. Fatu’s contract was terminated on June 11, 2009.”

Fatu suffered a second heart attack after being hospitalized when he was found unconscious while bleeding from his nose and his mouth. It is believed that pills were involved, but obviously nothing can be said until the toxicology reports come back.

If the drugs are in fact related in his death, he will be yet another famous wrestler to pass away from such a cause. Others include the tragic death of Eddie Guerrero in 2005 and the double-murder suicide of Chris Benoit. The latter is often linked to use of performance-enhancing drugs.

I alongside my site, SportsFullCircle, would like to wish condolences to the family of Fatu.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Eddie "Umaga" Fatu- The Man, The Job, and The Passion 1973-2009

Since writing this, I have learned that Umaga has indeed passed away. It is with a heavy heart that I write this and I only hope that he and his family know how much he was respected, admired and loved by the wrestling community. Rest in Peace Edie Fatu. Tell Eddie we said "Hi."

Most wrestling fans have heard by now about the tragic situation with Eddie "Umaga" Fatu. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack and is currently in the hospital in Houston, TX.

Rather than focus on if Umaga is still alive, or what may have happened, I have decided to write about the man's life.

Umaga was born on March 28, 1973 to Vera Anoa'i. He was born into a family that would go on to have a great lineage in Pro Wrestling. His three uncles were Afa and Sika, the Wild Samoans and Chief Peter Maivia. His brothers are Tonga Kid and Rikishi, his cousins are The Rock, Yokozuna, Matt "Rosey" Anoa'i, Samu Anoa'i and Afa Anoa'i Jr. and his grandfather was Reverand Anoa'i Amituana'i.

Growing up in a family of wrestlers made it an easy decision for Edie to begin training.

Eddie's first taste of fame came when he was brought into the WWE as part of an angle with his cousin Rikishi. He was a part of 3-minute warning and went by the name Jamal. The WWE dropped the angle before it reached a year and Umaga and his brother were both released from the WWE.

Umaga spent a short time in TNA as part of the Island Boyz team. He also spent some time in Japan before being called back to the WWE.

He was supposed to reunite with Rosey to bring back 3-minute warning but Rosey was released and Umaga was born. Umaga took his name from the Samoan tattooing process, Umaga meaning "The end".

Eddie "Umaga" Fatu was featured as a similar Samoan character to that of his uncles. He was uncontrollable and spoke no English, which made it impossible for a ref to do anything about his attacks.

He was paired with Armando Estrada and the two ended up making a great pairing. Over the next year Umaga and Armando ran roughshod over the WWE. Umaga was even given chances at the WWE title at PPV and Raw tapings.

Umaga gained victories over all of Raw's top performers including Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena, who was still champion at the time. He also ended up sending Kane to Smackdown after winning a loser leaves Raw match. He was undedeated for several months

During his first year with the company many observers noted that he moved quicker and better than any other man of his size. His gimmick and heritage combined to make him a shoe in for the WWE title. Why he was not elevated to the title is still beyond me.

Umaga was given another big push in the right direction when he was chosen by Vince to be his enforcer for the Battle of the Billionaires at Wrestlemania 23. Even though he lost, he was featured in the show's main event, further upping his status in the company.

Umaga would go on to feud with Jeff Hardy, having some great encounters, including a falls count anywhere match at the Extreme Rules PPV. Over the following months Eddie would suffer a couple of injuries which would keep him off TV, and lower his standing within the WWE's ranks.

Edie Fatu was released from the WWE after his second Wellness policy violation. Even though it is customary to be released on the third strike, Eddie was let go. His history had a lot to do with the decision.

Recently rumors had begun circulating that Umaga was set for a WWE return upon completion of his Australian tour with Hulk Hogan. Unfortunately, it appears that he will not get the chance.

In my opinion, Umaga was one of the most talented big men this sport had ever seen, and his return would have really shaken things up within the WWE. He is a great performer and loved by many fans.

I pray for him and his family.

Edie was an amazing performer and a unique talent. No one in recent history has combined power and speed the way he did. He will truly be missed by everyone who watched him perform.

I had originaly asked for a speedy recovery for Edie due to the article being posted before anything was really known, but so many people seemed to think that now that he has passed I should remove that line. I was conflicted about making the change but I decided to do it to quell those who felt the need to dwell on it. Please feel free to leave any comments about your impressions of Edie "Umaga" Fatu.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Former WWE Superstar Umaga Hospitalized-In Life Threatening Condition

It is being reported from various news outlets that former WWE superstar Umaga (Eddie Fatu), 36, has been hospitalized and is in life-threatening condition according to a long-time friend.

Details are not clear at the moment, but some are saying that Fatu feel asleep watching TV last night and several hours later, his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose. He was then rushed to the hospital.

Many believe it was drug related, simply because he has a history with drugs. I will not say that, for certain, Fatu is in the hospital over a drug overdose. However, even if he was clean at the time he was hospitalized, his past drug usage may be to blame for what happened.

We have seen people die from drug use some in the wrestling world. Eddie Guerrero was a guy who had a problem with painkillers. He was clean at the time of his death, but many believe, including doctors, that his heart attack was caused by his past abuse.

Rey Mysterio came out and said that he went into rehab for painkillers simply because he didn't want to end up like Guerrero. He mentioned that he has had so many injuries to his legs and he competes a lot in the ring, so the painkillers were needed. He knows that if he gets hooked now, when he probably needs them, it could cost him his life.

Fatu is another type of person. He has abused painkillers before, but he also got caught with marijuana. There are apparently other drugs he had issues with, too, but no one is giving specifics, so I won't post all that are out there.

In any case, he was released by World Wrestling Entertainment months ago because he failed the WWE Wellness Policy for the second time and when offered rehab, he refused.

Jeff Hardy also refused rehab when he was caught a while back and Jim Ross, who was the head of talent relations at the time, told Hardy he would have to go to rehab or leave the company. Hardy chose to leave the WWE instead of rehab.

He left the WWE and was said to have gotten clean before he went to TNA Wrestling. When he left TNA and came back to the WWE, he failed another test, which resulted in a suspension and also kept him out of Wrestlemania.

With all the problems he is now suffering because of drugs, it looks like rehab may have been a good idea in hindsight. So, if anyone is offered rehab, taking it would be wise.

If Fatu doesn't make it through, and it is proven that drugs did this to him, other wrestlers with drug problems should sit back and think, "Do I want to end up like that?" Especially if they have a family.

Now, I am discussing all things drug related, as if Fatu being hospitalized was caused by it. But I just want people to know I am not saying Fatu was hospitalized due to drugs, even though it makes a lot of sense due to his past.

Also with what little information given, drugs make sense as well. I mean blood coming out of one's nose doesn't happen for just any reason. If he is not breathing, and his nose is bleeding, he could have drawn a line or two, if you catch my drift.

I hope Fatu gets better soon and if drugs are the cause, wouldn't one think that rehab is a good idea at this point? I'm just saying...

UPDATE: Pro-Wrestlers have come out tweeting about Fatu such as Bobby Lashley, who tweeted: "Very sad day. A good friend is gone" and he is right from what reports are now saying.

I can now confirm to you that Eddie Fatu has passed away after suffering his second heart attack within 24 hours while in the hospital. He was taken off life support earlier in the day and doctors told his family to get in town and to the hospital quickly when things looked grim, which was why the plug wasn't pulled sooner when they found no brain activity.

People are saying he this is a result of abusing prescription pills, but until an autopsy is performed, no one can confirm that. My condolences to his family.

It is indeed a shame to see him pass on, as he just got back from Hulk Hogan's Tour in Australia and said that he may be returning to the WWE, which no one could confirm yes or no on. It is a big loss, as he was one of the best wrestlers ever at his size. He moved so quickly for a guy over 300 lbs and was said to be a good person.

As I mentioned earlier, this should open people's eyes. Death can happen at anytime, especially for a person with a drug problem, and Fatu was believed to have had one. Anyone with a drug problem should have learned from past deaths of others who also did, but maybe this one will be the one that finally makes them say no more. We can only hope.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Vince McMahon, Give the People What They Want: The Rock vs. HBK at Wrestlemania

Yesterday, I wrote an article about the possibility of The Rock coming back to World Wrestling Entertainment for one more match at Wrestlemania, against John Cena.

My focus was mostly how much of a bad idea this match was. I offered a counter match of Triple H versus The Rock since those two have some much history with each other.

However, in the comments section the people were overwhelming in favor of The Rock coming back to take on the Icon, Shawn Michaels.

Given that I've been the biggest Shawn Michaels fan since the AWA, I can't disagree with them. In fact, I'm a bit jealous that I didn't think of it first. You go, Dub Sizzle!

Despite my love for HBK, I am a journalist (sort of), so I'll weigh the pros and the cons.

Pros: You have maybe the greatest in ring performer in the history of pro wrestling in Shawn Michaels, and the most electrifying man The Rock, who can send an arena into a frenzy just by raising an eye brow.

These two would absolutely bring the house down. It might not have the technical finesse that HBK vs. Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, or Bret Hart had, but just about every move (especially signature moves) would have the arena popping so loud that ears might begin to bleed.

It could honestly be the be-all-end-all match in Wrestlemania history. People might actually forget Wrestlemania III ever took place when they talk about matches that changed the business.

We all know of The Rock's amazing microphone skills, but Shawn isn't half bad either. The promos leading up to Wrestlemania would probably be the most entertaining thing about Raw.

Also the two have unfinished business to attend to. Do you remember the first episode of Smack Down?

I do. The main event was Triple H vs. The Rock with the special guest referee Shawn Michaels (sadly in those horrible tight booty shorts).

It appeared that HBK was going to call the match right down the middle, that is until the end.

The Rock was in the middle of the People's Elbow, when slightly off camera Michaels comes into view with some Sweet Chin Music. Costing The Rock not only the match, but, if memory serves me correctly, the title as well.

So, if The Rock were to comeback, he could go on about how he's beaten everyone, except the one man who ruined the premier of what at the time was The Rock's show.

Oh, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it.

Now for the cons, come to think of it there aren't any, and if you can think of some well then sir you are obviously Canadian. I'm looking at you Bret Hart.

Will HBK vs. The Rock happen? Hell no it won't, it's too awesome, and the fans want it too much. If there is the one thing the WWE doesn't do, it's listen to the fans.

So we'll all just have to dream about it, in fact I may put Modern Warfare 2 down and dust off WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 and create this storyline myself.

Until next time, loyal reader.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

A Response to a Women Wrestlers Article: Is There a Top-Five List?

Before I begin, let me say that work and everyday life have completely taken over in the past two months, and now it has slowed down to give me a chance to write.

Also, neither women's division in WWE or TNA have really done anything to write about, though I have a feeling that will change. I do have two other articles in mind to write which will focus on Melina and Mickie James.

I read an article on 411mania.com the other day that really had me thinking. This article has some of the websites' writers give a top-five list of greatest women wrestlers of all time.

I personally found almost every list a bit disappointing and completely one-note.

Each list is mainly compiled of WWE or former WWE Divas, a few Japanese wrestlers are named, and the luchadoras are completely ignored. My question about this article: Can women wrestlers from different era and different countries truly be compared?

When I think back to being a kid, the first woman in wrestling that comes to mind is Miss Elizabeth. She made a bigger impact on me than any woman in a ring could.

The first woman wrestler that I can think of truly enjoying watching on a weekly basis when I was in my early teens is Chyna. But can I all her one of the all-time greats? No.

To me, her impact was more on wrestling itself because she was different, but it didn't really change much in women's wrestling for a long time. Do we now compare all WWE Divas to her no? Only Beth Phoenix, it seems, gets that.

The one everyone gets compared to is Trish Stratus.

Is that fair? No.

The Divas and Knockouts of today aren't in the same time-frame as her and aren't allowed or able to be in the same kind of storylines or matches she was able to be in.

I would not deny that Trish is the greatest of all time...in the WWE. She's one of the greatest of all time...in America.

People today, unless they seek it out on the Internet, aren't exposed to Japanese or Mexican wrestling. If you want to just see women take it to each other in every single match without the skin-flashing or hair-flipping, these are the kind of women to watch.

But is it truly fair to compare Trish Stratus to Manami Toyota? Chyna to Bull Nakano? Melina to Mariko Yoshida? Lita to Faby Apache?

In the end, where it's a bit easier to compare the men to one another, it's just not that simple for the women. Women's wrestling has a different impact in each part of the world, and the styles and look of them are also drastically different.

Even I can't pick five because to ignore anyone else is simply unfair. Even if I was obligated or forced to make a list, it's simply too difficult. If women's wrestling was treated the same all over the world, maybe the choices would be easier.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

The Rock To Take on John Cena at Wrestlemania?

Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm back with another, and probably useless, rumor.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI)—you know, that magazine we all read in elementary school that was packed with "so-called" insider information—is reporting that World Wrestling Entertainment is trying to secure a Rock versus John Cena Main Event at Wrestlemania.

I highly, highly, let me say it one more time, highly doubt this even has a chance of happening.

The Rock, now known by his legal name Dwayne Johnson, has expressed zero interest in wrestling ever again.

Though I believe he could be a fantastic actor, his choices for roles absolutely boggle the mind. If he keeps choosing roles like Game Plan and The Tooth Fairy, a return to the ring probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

However, I'm going to play devil's advocate here and pretend that this rumor will turn out to be true.

Let's say the WWE manages to convince The Rock to come back for one night and wrestle John Cena.

This would be a horrible no-win situation.

First off, The Rock wouldn't need to put Cena over, since, well, he's over. I also don't think The Rock would come back to Wrestlemania just to lose.

So that would mean he'd have to beat the Champ. That is assuming Cena will still be the champ by that time, and if the WWE stays as predictable as they've been for the past decade or so, it's a good bet Cena will be going to Wrestlemania with the gold intact.

So if the Rock wouldn't come back just to lose, that means the Champ would have to lose.

However, as much as I'd love to see The Rock come back and whoop Cena, what does that say about the WWE?

A guy who hasn't wrestled in several years and has lost a good amount of the bulk he had when he did wrestle comes back and beats the best the WWE has to offer.

Sure, pro wrestling is staged and outcomes predetermined, but that just makes the whole company look bad if that were to happen.

Not to mention, there isn't anything between Cena and The Rock. Cena was still a nobody when Dwayne left for the green pastures of Hollywood.

I will give credit to PWI, they are hyping up the rumor by claiming Cena has been jealous of the Rock's previous success in wrestling and in acting. Still, nothing there to draw The Rock back to the squared circle.

I guess the WWE could have the match end with someone like Orton running in and having The Rock and Cena team up and ending the match in a draw, but if I'm paying the 55 dollars for Wrestlemania, I'd be pissed if that's how they ended the main event.

If by some act of the Almighty, The Rock were to come back for one night, I'd have him have one last match with Triple H.

Now, those two have a long history together—and outside of feuding with Austin—I dare say, Hunter brought out the best in The Rock.

So in the end, I think this rumor is absolute hog wash, but one can only dream that the People's Champ would return home, even if it is only for one night.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Jeff Hardy's "My Life, My Rules" Is the Best WWE DVD This Year

I just bought and watched the Jeff Hardy DVD and I have to say, it is an impressive outing from the WWE.

The documentary is set up like that of the old boxing documentaries. It begins it's story during the preparation for Jeff's last match. Then it bounces back and forth between that match and interviews, clips and reactions from Jeff on certain moments in his career. It was really a great documentary and should have been given more hype.

The documentary has Jeff discussing, among other things, some of the superstars he has enjoyed facing since returning in 2006.

He had high praise for John Morrison and Triple H, even saying HHH is the best at what he does. He also gave a lot of credit to Matt and also discussed his straightedge/free spirit feud with CM Punk before ultimately taking a break from wrestling.

The big emotional moments of the documentary were when Jeff discussed his two drug suspensions and his house burning down. He was especially emotional about the death of his dog Jack, which is understandable; who wouldn't be upset at the loss of a beloved pet.

During the interviews we got a chance to see Jeff with his friends and girlfriend at his newly built house, as well as some of his opponents like Edge and CM Punk. The comments from everyone were very positive and seemed to indicate that this was not the end for Jeff.

The documentary portion overall was the best part of the DVD for me. It was closer to a shoot interview than anything else WWE has put out, even including comments from Jeff where he said he disagreed with some of the rules of the wellness policy.

There were plenty of extras on the DVD. My personal favorite was when Jeff and Matt sang a song with their father, who seemed to truly enjoy singing with his sons. Some of the other features were about Jeff's love for motorcross, music, movies, painting and The Hardy show, Matt and Jeff's online reality show.

The match selection on the DVD is what you would expect; they tried to put in great matches that haven't been on a bunch of other DVD's.

The first match was Jeff as a teenaged jobber facing the 123 Kid. It was hilarious to see Jeff's Vanilla Ice hairdo.

Another standout match was the first triangle ladder match between the Dudleys, The Hardys and E&C. This match was not featured on the Ladder Match DVD so it seemed like a good choice.

They also featured the matches you would have expected, including HHH vs. Jeff for both the number one contendership and the WWE title. The triple threat where Jeff won the WWE title and of course his final match vs. Punk in the cage.

Some surprising match selections were Jeff vs. Shawn Michaels from Raw, Jeff vs. Carlito in a ladder match for the IC title and Jeff vs. Shelton. All great matches, but still surprising to see some of them included.

One of the best parts of the whole set was Matt and Jeff doing commentary on the triangle ladder match. They said that they felt it was the worst of the matches those teams had because they were moving a mile a minute and there was no real story telling, but both admitted that the spots in the match were amazing.

The Hardy Show segment was shocking because it was WWE advertising something that wasn't owned by them.

It's good to see the WWE support what Jeff is doing outside of the ring. He even has his SummerSlam art show on the DVD. He painted a large canvas face before the summer time event and it was quite impressive for only 45 minutes of work.

Overall this is the best DVD WWE has put out this year, or for the last five years for that matter. They really do have a great production team who made a great, moving docudrama about Jeff's last three year run up to his final moments in the WWE.

Five stars from this guy.

What did you guys think of the Jeff Hardy DVD?

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Breaking News: WWE's ECW Brand Set to Die in 2010

In a very sad story, it is being reported that WWE's ECW Brand will most likely end in early 2010. The WWE has been meeting with the SyFy Network the past few days about re-branding the show.

Both the WWE and SyFy are in agreement that WWE’s ECW has been a bust and plans are already being made for a new weekly series. Several ideas have been tossed around including a magazine-style recap show.

However, as of now it appears that WWE wants to make the new Tuesday night brand a “WWE Minor League” and feature young up-and-coming stars.

This most likely means that the big name stars on the brand or people good enough to leave will move to RAW or SmackDown at some point in 2010, even before the annual WWE Draft.

ECW has been in the WWE for about four years now as it launched early 2006, the WWE saw the amazing success of the One Night Stand PPV and the "Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD and decided to make it a new brand. When we first saw it in the WWE, the normal ECW rules were around and the brand was doing well.

The WWE put ECW originals such as RVD, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, and Sabu on the brand to give the fans some of the same faces they loved. Then we saw the addition of Kurt Angle and Big Show which also helped get attention to the brand.

It was doing very well, and then all the sudden we start seeing the WWE take it over and put their style in it. ECW of old was gone and we see what we do today. If we were seeing the same ECW show that we once loved, then of course the brand would get higher ratings.

It is the WWE that killed it off, simply because they knew the show would be bigger than either RAW or SmackDown if the hardcore action was around under the WWE Banner.

The ECW letters will disappear, and no one is clear on what the new name. Some are thinking because it could be a minor league, that FCW will be the new name seeing as that is the WWE's developmental brand.

It is clear to me that if they make the new brand a minor league, we will see a lot of the FCW youngsters come up to WWE TV pretty fast.

I don't know what they would name it, but that would be my only guess as of now, if you have one then by all means leave a comment below telling me what you would name the new brand.

ECW will be hard to not see anymore, but it is clear that the ECW of old has been dead and gone for a while now. I feel bad that ECW died, but it is not surprising the WWE basically killed it off for good.

I think that the new minor league show sounds cool, as we will see a lot of new stars. It is the reason I, along with many others watch ECW anyway, so why not?

If they are not going to give us the ECW we once loved, and basically make their own brand out of them, then changing the name in the end has no effect on me.

One thing that will be something to wonder about will be the ratings. ECW currently has some draws in Shelton Benjamin, Yoshi Tatsu, Christian, and a few others. If those people are gone, then really who is going to be their top guy?

I would think the WWE would have guest stars from RAW and/or SmackDown come on the show, seeing as ECW tapes with SmackDown a lot, we could see more SmackDown stars there than RAW.

I personally do not want to see another Superstars show, as I feel it has no substance, the new brand with the people no one has really heard of would be interesting, simply because we will see people that we never have before.

People from FCW such as Justin Angel and Kris Logan are very interesting guys, who could be huge for the WWE. Giving them some limelight on TV would do wonders for them.

People like seeing new stars, especially if they are good, so the new show will have views. But of course, since they are new, you'd have to watch the show to be a fan of anyone on there, or know them from seeing them in another promotion or something.

If people don't have a fav on the show regularly, such as Benjamin or Christian, will they watch anyway? It is something the WWE needs to think about. But like I said, seeing guest stars every week would most likely help that out.

Also, how would the minor leagues work? If they suddenly get popular will they be put on RAW or SmackDown? Or will they have to be there for a certain amount of time?

The WWE has made loopholes before, such as putting Sheamus on RAW out of nowhere. So that could be possible.

The weekly recap show seems to be a dumb idea, seeing as we see enough recap on WWE.com and the other two brands. So the minor leagues seem to be the big idea as of now.

The ECW letters may be gone soon, but many fans will remember the once great promotion. WWE can't stop them from that, I'm just saying.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Behind the Music, Vol. 2: Breaking Down the WWE Theme Song Lyrics

It was so good the first time, the fans demanded a sequel.

The entrance themes of wrestlers are there to get the crowd pumped for the impending appearance of their favorite wrestlers. But are the lyrics in these songs true to life? Do the superstars keep it real?

Well, I took the time to break down a line or two from some of your favorite themes and how they relate to the stars who use them.

I will provide the line in italicized font first, and then give the honest thoughts of the wrestler who holds the song. With that, let's begin.

Sheamus - "Too Many Lies "

"It’s a shame for they lost their head."

So true. Have you heard all the uproar from the fans because I jumped right to the main event?

"It’s written in your face, and the shadows of my eyes"

As pale as I am, are you surprised that you can see shadows on my body?

Mark Henry - "Some Bodies Gonna Get It "

"Always in the hood, number one wig splitter."

You know I know all about being number one in stuff. Anybody else had a hand for a child?

Michelle McCool - "Not Enough for Me "

"Acting all ghetto with them cheap ass stilettos."

Perhaps if I acted as ghetto as those cheap ass stiletto-wearing chicks people might say I have some kind of personality. Hmm...

Kane - "Slow Chemical"

"When she's not around I feel it coming down."

Geez, the guy can't seem to get over Katie Vick, huh?

Kelly Kelly - "Holla Holla"

"Hop in my Jag, baby we can go.
Just remember, you gotta keep it up for me."

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! This is a PG-show there, lady.

Shelton Benjamin - "Ain't No Stopping Me "

"Coming from the bottom on the way to the top"

Damn, the WWE took that seriously and placed him on ECW.

R-Truth - "What's Up?"

"To be one of the baddest-ass [expletive] to step foot in this game
And I haven't even started yet!"

From the looks of it, you've never really gotten out of the starting blocks in the WWE...in both of your runs.

Dolph Ziggler - "I Am Perfection "

"Go check the scores again
All mine are perfect 10"

Please, someone check the score because I'm unsure how many IC title shots I've had and have yet to win the damn belt.

Kofi Kingston - "S.O.S. "

"SOS (I hear them callin')
SOS (I hear them shoutin')"

I bet he heard them calling and shouting when they tried to tell him that he wasn't Jamaican.

Christian - "Just Close Your Eyes"

"Deceived by my eyes, and all I was told I should see"

Deceived by my contract, too. I said I would come back if I got a world championship run, they didn't tell me it would be ECW.

Praise From Caesar: WWE's Melina Called "Best in the World" By Bret Hart

During a recent interview, Bret Hart said that he feels Melina is, in many ways, the best in the world right now. This has got to have Melina walking on air.

Melina is currently one of WWE's top featured Divas. She has been a women's Champion and is one of WWE's tough enough alumni. While she has been in many good matches, the WWE doesn't seem to have a whole lot for her.

Melina is easily one of the most athletic divas in WWE history. Her agility, flexibilty and charisma make her the perfect package. Bret Hart has said many times in the past that he does not watch all of WWE's programming, but for him to say something like this is great for Melina.

If WWE really wants to push the Divas division then they need more wrestlers and less supermodels. TNA has women's wrestling down to a science right now, WWE, on the other hand, has bikini models train for six months and then become valets.

The system is clearly flawed and Melina is one of the few good women's wrestlers in the WWE, but she is clearly suffering from having no real competition. If Melina had a program with Natalya then I could say with confidence that the matches would be great, but right now she is just stagnant in the WWE lineup.

I hope she has a great career, but a move to TNA would put her more in the spotlight. I don't think it would happen due to her on again off agin relationship with John Morrison, but never say never in the wrestling biz.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

WWE's Undercard, Where Veterans Go To Die

There is something going on in the WWE right now that I can't decide if I am happy with or not.

While the WWE can be given credit for recently pushing many newer stars like Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Kofi, Punk, and Ziggler, there is certainly something to be said for how they are treating their veterans.

I'm not talking about HBK, Undertaker or HHH, the guys who get pushes no matter what, I'm talking about guys like Finlay, Chavo, Dave Taylor, and Mark Henry.

I know that Henry has been featured more notably on Raw, but he is still not in a position to win a title anytime soon.

Chavo is a guy I feel is being totally mishandled. His ongoing feud with Hornswoggle is just plain stupid at this point, and his streak of losses is piling up faster than lines at the stores this past Friday.

He is a great wrestler, probably better than 90 percent of the roster, but because his look isn't quite right, he is pushed down.

Vince likes his guys to be muscular and good looking, Chavo is smaller than most and his receding hair line is not helping him any. After Eddie died, he was given a brief boost but that soon faltered and Rey got the bigger push.

I love watching Chavo wrestle guys like Punk and Mysterio because not only is he up to their level, he is above it. He may not be as good of an "Entertainer" as some of the names mentioned, but his in ring skill is second to none and he is from a legacy of amazing wrestlers.

WWE missed the boat on putting him in Legacy because his family history in wrestling goes back as far as the McMahons.

I know I'm probably not going to get my wish, but If this is how the WWE plans on treating Chavo for the rest of his career, then he should just go to TNA and have more of a smaller spotlight. He would be with family too, Hector announces for their Spanish team.

Chavo was once a great superstar who held titles like the tag, Cruiserweight and ECW titles, now he is fighting a midget every week. Whats wrong with this picture? I'm all for equal opportunity employment but the WWE has been using Horny for too long and its time to put him out to pasture.

As for Finlay, the WWE touts him as a tough-as-nails Irishman, but it seems like they only ever have him win a match, if he will lose to the same guy the next week.

He is used as an "enhancement talent" which is not a bad thing if that's what he wants, but I think he is more deserving of a push than Regal, who is looking to take the ECW title.

Finlay is one of those rare talents who have continued to get better every single year. He can have a great match with just about anybody, and his long career tells a story of achieving your goals by pure grit and determination. If anyone should take the title from Christian, it's Finlay.

Mark Henry has been around for over 10 years and has only held two titles, the ECW Title and the now-defunct European Title. The WWE's first Olympian is being treated like he has no value at all.

I realize that compared to other huge men like Big Show he isn't as entertaining to watch, but he has gotten better over the last few years and seems to have a new vigor with his new team with MVP.

He seems primed to win tag gold soon with Montel, which would be a step in the right direction, but for a 10 years veteran with WWE he has held less gold than anyone else with the same career.

Dave Taylor is known to many as the man who debuted Drew Mcintyre on Smackdown a while back. This debut of course sank and Dave was released and Drew was sent back to developmental.

This was a good thing for Drew as he is now featured prominently on Smackdown these days, but what happened to Dave Taylor?

He is currently hitting the Indy scene but has no real contract or deal with anyone. This vet is one of the better mat technicians in the world, and yet he has no place to call home.

He is very popular in Europe but they have no real organizations to support his talent over there. He could do well in Japan, where they still treat pro wresting like a real sport, but I don't see him making a permanent move.

Dave Taylor is up there with Regal and Finlay in skill, he just doesn't have the personality or charisma to be a top guy, but he is certainly better than he is given credit for.

Just my thoughts on the way some vets are treated. What do you guys think?

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

CM Punk's Cult-Like Crusade

CM Punk is NOT wasting away.

Despite what many fans and critics have said lately—myself included—the WWE appears to know exactly what they’re doing with CM Punk.

In my Survivor Series recap, I stated that I felt his talent was being wasted in subpar midcard feuds with the likes of R-Truth and referees.

I’ve since been involved in many conversations regarding Punk’s future direction, and I’ve found myself repeating the same dream scenario for Punk.

I want Punk to become a cult leader.

His recent ranting and raving on Smackdown has him coming off as preacher of sorts and, logically, the next step should be to acquire followers.

The WWE took the first step in the right direction on last week’s Smackdown by having Luke Gallows, formerly Festus, accompany Punk down to the ring.

Punk then proclaimed that he had “saved” Gallows from a life of drugs and neglect.

Festus—who was last seen as a balding, overweight mental patient—was “born again” as Luke Gallows, a menacing giant with newfound loyalties to his personal savior, CM Punk.

Gallows aided Punk in his match with Matt Hardy and eventually laid Hardy out with a sloppy yet effective new finishing maneuver.

When it was all said and done, fans saw a brilliant pose as Gallows sat overtop of a fallen, beaten Hardy, and Punk stood over Gallows as though he were his personal hound who had done his master’s dirty work.

Punk figures to continue his “crusade” to convert those in need to a straightedge lifestyle.

My hope is that they’ll use this as a chance to build Punk an army of his own, a church of followers much like Raven’s Flock from ECW/WCW.

This would serve multiple purposes.

First and foremost, it would allow Punk the chance to shine as the leader of his cult.

He has become a more impressive heel with each passing week and having an army of ruthless—and eternally loyal—minions would only paint him as a more despicable heel as he works his way back into the World Heavyweight Title picture.

Imagine a Royal Rumble that consists of Punk and half a dozen of his reborn, straight-edge slaves. The thought is very intriguing.

The second major purpose of a CM Punk Church of Followers would be to put over some lower midcard talent.

Rebranding Festus as Luke Gallows is the first of what could be many superstars shedding dead-in-the-water gimmicks to be “reborn” as Punk’s disciples.

The list of superstars currently going nowhere in WWE is a lengthy one, and if WWE pushes through with a CM Punk faction, superstars like Carlito, Primo, Chris Masters, Evan Bourne, and dozens of others could be brought in to revive their faltering careers.

Thirdly, this faction would provide opportunities for other midcarders who are currently searching for a storyline.

John Morrison is currently without any real direction. The same could be said for Matt Hardy and, for the most part, Christian in ECW.

Any of these midcard faces could use a feud with a diabolic heel stable to push them to new heights in the WWE.

In the end, the WWE may decide that Gallows is all Punk needs for a sidekick, and that’ll be the end of the story.

If the WWE decides to press on with this storyline and give Punk the reins of his own heel stable, it could finally be the move that puts Punk on top for good and helps rebuild an otherwise floundering midcard in the process.

Either way, I’m very impressed with what I saw out of CM Punk last Thursday, and I now know for sure that Punk is not wasting away on Smackdown.

Rather, he’s still evolving, and we’re all going to be the benefactors of his evolution.

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Is the Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania 26 a Done Deal?

With all the news that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is wanting to do something special in the WWE, some speculated that he was bringing a new show to the table. While that appears to still be rumored, another big rumor has come out recently.

John Cena has been kind of on Johnson's case for a while. When he was promoting the WWE and 12 Rounds , he took a few shots at Johnson. He claimed that he left the wrestling fans after saying he loved them and the business.

He has said for about a year now that he would love to face Johnson one day. And Johnson has been asked numerous times about that in interviews. He never really said anything about it, other than "John Cena is a funny guy."

So it looked like he figured it was said in a joking manner and he didn't want to dive into it that much. For some time now, people have wanted to see a marquee matchup such as this.

Last year we saw a big match in the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, which was my personal favorite Wrestlemania match of all time. And at Wrestlemania 26, we could be seeing John Cena/The Rock.

Many feel it would be a passing of the torch moment of some sort. We saw Rock/Hogan at Wrestlemania 18, and that was supposed to be the defining passing of the torch moment, but Rocky left the WWE full-time just a few years after.

Now, the reason rumored matchup came about was because next issue of Inside Wrestling features The Rock and John Cena on the cover of the magazine with a headline reading: "Hot WrestleMania Rumor—John Cena vs. The Rock."

This is a sister company of Pro-Wrestling Illustrated, who is a very notable and legit source. So they wouldn't do something like this if they didn't think it would be possible or even hear about it from anyone within the WWE.

The synopsis of the article says:

"The relationship between The Rock and John Cena is strange. Cena respects all The Rock has accomplished yet seems to resent it at the same time. That is why "The Champ" is pining for a match with The Rock at WWE's showcase event. Word is, this mega-bout is close to being signed."

The magazine hits news stands Dec. 8.

As I mentioned, Cena has been clamoring for it to happen. And Johnson came out in an interview saying that he wanted to do something big with the WWE and felt he had more time to give back to the fans.

This also could be the year that The Rock goes into the Hall of Fame, so many speculate that he would do this as a last favor to the WWE.

It is said that he will be hosting RAW in January to promote The Tooth Fairy , which is a Disney Film about a hockey player (Johnson) who hits people so hard that he knocks out their teeth, so much so that he acquires the nickname "The Tooth Fairy." Somehow he has to repay a bad deed by becoming the real life tooth fairy.

Seems interesting, but has the same sort of plot The Gameplan had. Of course, Johnson said that he loves working on Disney projects because they are something his daughter can watch. Hey, if you get paid for it and can make your daughter happy, then why not, right?

Still though, many feel that once he comes in for the hosting gig that the storyline will be set up for he and Cena.

There is a rumor that Cena could be facing The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26, but if Rocky signs on to work at Mania, then that will be scratched, of course. 'Taker can face anyone and put on a great show at Wrestlemania, so I'm not worried about what he will do.

Would we see Johnson come in weekly around Wrestlemania time for storyline purposes though? I'm not sure. One would think he would if there is a match between he and Cena.

I mean there is a lot of greatness that can be done here. And if treated right, this could be a massive Wrestlemania.

And one thing people would love to see is a Cena heel turn. Believe me, if he faces the Rock he won't be the face, so a heel turn for the storyline seems right to me.

Again, this is rumored as of now. And I can't say that this is close to being signed like some are. But, do I think it should happen and would be great to see? That would be a heck yeah!

Read more WWE news on BleacherReport.com

Randy Orton Rips Into Kofi Kingston In What "Should" Be His Next WWE Promo

Monday Night Raw opens to a standing ovation as the people in Baltimore, Maryland await the introduction to the night's live event.

While it seems as though everyone in the arena is excited for the upcoming program, their dwells one man backstage who appears to be less than enthusiastic.

A video is played on the titantron to recap the events of the previous week's program which is then followed by an elaborate display of fireworks that works the crowd into frenzy.

Much to the disappointment of the thousands in attendance, the program begins (much as it did last week) with the sound of Randy Orton's entrance music.

Randy Orton begins to slowly make his way down to the ring, looking much different than he has in recent months.

His hair looks to be a little bit longer, his five o'clock shadow more pronounced, and he has gone back to wearing jeans (instead of trunks) with his usual "gas mask" t-shirt.

Gone is the generic "grumpy" Randy Orton facial expression which has been replaced with that evil look in his eyes (think back to the night he broke Batista's arm).

He makes his way into the ring and picks up the microphone to begin his promo...

"Kofi Kingston.

It saddens me that this issue between the two of us has had to continue, but then again, there are a number of things I regret having done over the past few weeks.

You know, my father always told me that there comes a time in life when a man has to take responsibility for his actions. And he was right.

It was wrong of me to jump you from behind the night after Bragging Rights.

I took an unsuspecting man and threw him off the stage in a fit of rage.

I'll admit it; I've been having a bit of an issue with self-control lately.

Had I taken the time to think things through, perhaps I wouldn't have let my issues with self-control dictate my actions.

For that Kofi Kingston, I must say that I am sorry.

I'm sorry for throwing you off of the stage like that, those actions were not fitting of a man who deserves to be champion.

I'm sorry Kofi Kingston, that I didn't do worse.

I allowed my issue with self-control to get the better of me.

Here I stood a 6'4 former champion and I pitied the little man who cost him team a victory at Bragging Rights.

Sure I was upset that you decided to interfere in my championship match with John Cena but it was my pity that allowed you to remain conscious.

My mistakes than managed to continue week after week.

I underestimated you which should come as little surprise. After all, what did I have to be intimidated by?

A man who has held the United States championship, the Intercontinental championship?

Santino Marella held the Intercontinental championship so don't even get me started Kofi Kingston!

Until Survivor Series, you had done absolutely nothing.

I've main-evented Wrestlemania, three times! You couldn't main event a house-show!

Your "fluke" victory over me at Survivor Series will prove to be your undoing.

Shawn Michaels might like to call himself the "main-event" but I am the one who has carried this company for the past two years!

When was the last time any of you people spent your hard earned money to buy a PPV that wasn't main-evented by me?

And now I have to deal you Kofi Kingston?

Your actions over the last few weeks have been reprehensible.

First you were upset that I attacked you instead of being grateful that I allowed you to remain an active part of this roster, so what did you do?

You decided to destroy my car!

You caused thousands of dollars worth of damage because you were upset that I got involved in your business after you got involved in mine.

Let me ask you something Kofi Kingston, do you really think I would have wasted my time putting my hands on you had you not gotten involved in my match?

But you did Kofi, you did decide to stick your nose in my business and for that you paid a price.

What kind of example were you setting for all these young children who look up to you when they see you destroying valuable property?

How many children do you think thought it was cool to see someone they look up to destroy a motor vehicle?

Now Kofi, it doesn't really matter to me what any of these people think of me, but at least I don't go around pretending to care.

Then, all those same people who look up to you, were the same people you put in danger a few weeks later.

Think back Kofi.

YOU decided to get involved in my business with Roddy Piper.

YOU decided to save someone who has done far worse things than I ever have and why?

So you could try to put your hands on me.

You knew you couldn't compete with me one on one so you decided that one of your typical "sneak attacks" would give you the upper hand.

But that Kofi Kingston, wasn't enough.

You could have faced me one on one in the ring but you were smart enough to take me out of my element.

The same ring that I have defeated countless legends in was not a place where you were brave enough to face me.

You had to bring the fight outside the ring and in the process you endangered the very people that seem to care about you.

It was YOU who threw me into the live crowd at Madison Square Garden.

It was YOU who brought a dangerous physical confrontation right next to the women and children in the audience.

It was all fair game to you so long as you got to instigate another fight.

You felt perfectly comfortable throwing punches next to a live crowd of people who had nothing to do with your little issue.

I tried to bring the fight back to the ring but you would have nothing of it.

You threw me back over the guard-rail a second time and continued to put all of those people in jeopardy."

Orton begins to draw a lot of heat from the crowd who are reacting as though his accusations are inaccurate.

He responds...

"You people think I'm making this up?

Roll the footage!"

The titantron plays the footage of Kofi Kingston's brawl with Randy Orton at Madison Square Garden.

"The footage doesn't lie Kofi.

It was YOU who decided to risk to well-being of all those fans, and for that you should be ashamed of yourself.

But our story didn't end there.

You picked up a "fluke" victory at Survivor Series, something that would NEVER happen if you were to face me one on one right here in the middle of this ring.

Then you cost me the chance to win back MY title last week.

So now the time has come Kofi Kingston.

As sick as it might make me to have to soil myself by competing against the likes of you, I'm willing to do it if it means I don't have to see your face ever again.

You can join Ric Flair and the countless other people I've put on the shelf by staying at home every Monday night and watching me continue to achieve my destiny.

My destiny is the WWE Championship, you're just a temporary fix.

After I take out whatever is left of you come TLC, the board of directors will have no choice but to give me another shot at my title.

You might not like it Kofi Kingston, but I want you to remember something important.

When you’re sitting at home, a broken man and your family wonders why you can't run quite as fast or why you can’t jump quite as high, I want you to tell them that it is because of the decisions that you made.

Allow your family to learn from your mistakes, allow yourself to be another example of what happens when someone decides to get involved in my business.

I might have apologized to you earlier tonight Kofi Kingston but I assure you that after I put you down as TLC, there will be no more apologies to be given.

That is, if you're even conscious enough to understand anything after I’m done with you."
