Atlanta Falcons: Keys to Success in the 2008 NFL Draft

I believe the falcons should pass on matt ryan i mean really why would they need another QB when they have 3 others perfectly able to fill the postion the Falcons dont need another franchise QB they need a TE, OT,OG AND LB. they should use there new RB combo of Norwood and turner to wear out the teams the use ronnie white or a new TE to go over top and make a big play. Some good OT the Falcons should look at is Jake Long he has amazing footwork and explodes on defenders. and he will be perfect for the falcons new running game. In the second round they should look for a TE OR LB. this years TE prospects are looking mighty good. USCS TE Fred Davis is not just good he is amazing. Great off the ball speed and amazing hands all in a big body. Hes blocking ability can use some work but other than that he is amazing. if the falcons are looking for a more balanced TE Brad Cottam is the one. he is basically Jake Long and Fred Davis mixed into a 6 foot 7 body he is an excellent steal. another great OT or could possible be guard is Jeff Otah he is just a big boy. which specialized in run blocking which would fit the Falcons in a great way.

2008 NFL Draft: What the Atlanta Falcons Really Need

People are saying the Falcons need Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan, but they already have depth and talent at that position in Chris Redman and D.J. Shockley.

What they should be looking for in the first round is a talented tight end or offensive tackle, and there are a few I've had my eye on.

If they go the TE way, they could choose USC's Fred Davis who is nothing but a WR in a tight end's body.

Another great TE possibly available to them would be the huge 6'7" Brad Cottam of Tennessee. Even though he did not play much this season, this monster of a man displayed some true talent in the Senior Bowl.

If the Falcons don't decide to go the TE route, there are a couple good tackles they could pick from.

Jake Long of Michigan is the top tackle and has enough size and power to bolster the Falcons' offensive line immediately. This big guy could be a great resource with his fast feet and quick punch off the ball.

He'd fit into the Falcons' scheme perfectly.

Another great OT comes to mind: Ryan Clady of Boise State. He is a great pass blocker and is mentally ready to play with the big boys.

One other OT who would fit with the Falcons' run scheme would me the mammoth Jeff Otah. I can only describe his size as massive, but he is exceptionally quick for his frame and would match up well with the Falcons' running game.

Michael "The Burner" Turner in Hotlanta with the Falcons

With the release of the once great running back Warrick Dunn and the negative press on Michael Vick, the Falcons really needed another star to fill the seats of the Georgia Dome.

Sure they already had Jerrious Norwood, a six yard per carry running back. But now they have two solid running backs with good running styles and good hands out of the backfield.

Other teams could be surprised when they step onto the field and see the blazing speed of these two soon-to-be premier backs.

I also believe that next year these two backs could have 2,500 combined yards on the field.

This could be the lift the Falcons need to put them back at the top of the NFC South.
