Smart, Sexy and Powerful? Divas of the WWE, Need More Training.

Short & Good

Divas are nice to look at, but they really have not come far since the days of "Puppies!"

Every PPV and every show, there is always one Divas Match. I know that this is the time I can get up, walk around....Because essentially, Diva matches are as entertaining as the commercial break.

Recently, I asked J.R. what the whole "Smart, Sexy, and Powerful" campaign is going to go on for. (Because how many times can we hear....?) He told me, "It is merely a marketing slogan." So, it could go on for a while, but I can't help but think, "This may all have something to do with Jerry Lawler's "Puppies!""

So how about the ring performance...

Several years back, before Finlay made his on-camera return to the WWE, He was actually training the Divas, full time.

I asked J.R.: "Do you think the Diva training has gotten better or worse, since the days of being trained by Finlay?"

J.R.- "If Finlay trained the Divas full time they would be much more fundamentally sound, but unfortunately he doesn't. I feel that WWE Divas need more training before they are put on TV."

And there it is. When I watch, it seems like I am watching wrestling from 20 years ago. Uneventful, but also, very easy to see mistakes and fakes.

Sexy, but dance competitions, holiday themed matches and bikini contests, don't exactly conjure up the words, "Smart and Powerful."

Thanks for the time

-Blue

Remember When...Our Superstars Were Hungry?

We all see our Superstars today, after years of trying to "Make It." Trying to be unique and entertaining, enough to get noticed, and be elevated to the fast track of the Title Hunt.

Don't worry, most of the slides are not this long.

Perhaps this is one man's opinion, but I feel as though we may love our favorite athletes for those actions/ antics, from their introduction. Perhaps we associate their old ways of entertaining us, with what we see now. We may attribute that Wrestler with more charisma than he once had.

We start with John Cena. Unlike most, I am a Cena fan. But I can't help fondly remembering the days of "Basic Thuganomics." Cena would walk out as a cross between Marky Mark (Funky Bunch days) and Vanilla Ice.

He would free-style about his opponents and talk trash as he laid into each of them verbally, prior to physically. .

Now....Just another Superstar.

Is Wrestling Real? That Age-Old Question

My roommates think that wrestling is absolutely ridiculous. A joke! I love it! I see those stats each week, when Smackdown and Raw come back from a break.. I see the fan base, but that is for another article.

Right now, I have to say, I am immersed, as all of of us are. But the one area, I will not falter on, is the insinuation we are watching something fake. We are infact, watching something real.

We see wrestling with amazing athletics, impact, brutality, blood (without the razor from the trunks!), injuries, that are legit, that are worked on, we go from a 2x4 from “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, and a match with Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior, for the WWF title and the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania.

Clotheslines that did not even connect, when Hogan fell. A “punch,” that was almost at the face, when Hogan hit the Warrior, and he decided to sell it.

NOW!?

We see the days of ECW past., we can refer back to the “Hardcore championship” matches and title defenses, to see that. We can even see, today, plenty of TNA and WWE action, with full impact, full hurt on. Tacks, Tables, flames, ladders, chairs, Kendo sticks….

But what else has changed?

Well, my skeptic roommates did not expect to see the pure athletics we see today. The kick (for example) from a common match between John Morrison vs. Charlie Haas, with FULL IMPACT. We see the Great Kahli or Big Show vs. others, with full-on chops!

We would not have seen this back in the old days, and there is no way anyone can say, that is not real.

So what is not real?

The outcome is predetermined. The turning point and key points are pre-existing….

But who is to say that this is different from any other sport these days?

In the Olympics, we saw 12-year-old girls doing gymnastics (Olympics used to be my favorite because they were pure!)

Point shaving amongst basketball, baseball, football…

Coke is used, along or with amphetamines. (that must give them some sort of advantage) there is steroid use now, even in those sports!

There is boxing, UFC, which is now fixed to a point of embarrassment.

I love hockey, but at some point, I have to figure people are being paid to handle it differently.

So what is left as a “pure sport these days? Unfortunately, nothing.

I apologize to sports fans, but WWE is now, almost up there w/ the others……give it a few years. W/ athletes, like Benjamin, Jericho, Jeff hardy, Kofi Kingston, .. we see hard hitting, pure, athleticism.

I would not be surprised to see WWE take a turn toward a “New Japan” wrestling, sort of style. More realistic, less storyline. The story is what we call the “rope opera.”

We know the story to be fake. Announcers, timing, I touch on these in other articles, the posters, for the PPV will show who will win.

All in all, when asked the question, "is wrestling real?", I can only answer, “the moves, the impact, are real. The rest is scripted, but still, full impact."

A man does not allow another, to “slingshot" another into the buckle. I, you, would instinctively, drop to the floor, slide, the keep going.

The fans want to see a show, that is what they give us. We see pyrotechnics!, Spectacular atmosphere, Titantrons, and banners throughout the arena.….

So what can I say when asked that 20 years ago, wrestling WAS fake...now, a bit more real.

Thanks for reading.

           The Blue Chip

The Real Super Powers of the Undertaker: Let's See a Champ

When I saw WrestleMania 25, The Undertaker leaped over the ropes to half-complete a flip and then landed directly on his head! As if that was not enough, he completed the match!

Mind you, not another five minutes or pinfall, but continued as scripted!

At the end of the “Smack Down” opening, he is the last one shown. Usually, on other shows, the champion is the last clip on the theme.

The Undertaker stands at 6’10” and weighs 310 pounds!

When Taker was at Wrestlemania 25, The Undertaker put on arguably the best match we have ever seen—at least in WrestleMania.

With pure fundamentals and no weapons used, this match kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The normal man, the average wrestler, does not stay in the spotlight for nearly 20 years.

When the Undertaker debuted, I was a kid, and I admit, I was scared. He was menacing.

The Undertaker has “risen from the dead” many, many times. He has been in very brutal Casket, Hell In A Cell, Ironman, Last Man Standing, I Quit, Cowbell, Elimination Chamber matches, and has always come through.

In the famous "Hell In A Cell" match with Mick Foley (at the time, "Mankind"), Foley received the credit. If you see just the Taker in that match, he was pretty damn good!

The Undertaker has become a wrestling icon who has commanded an army at one time called the “Ministry.”

The Undertaker has re-invented himself three times now.

First he was an ominous presence who rarely cut a promo. Next he was influenced by “Kid Rock” (in my opinion.) He then began the phase of “American Bad-Ass.”

He rode a motorcycle to the ring and cut his hair as he opened up the door for a storyline with his wife.

The Undertaker left for a few months and magically returned to his old persona, with modification moves and presence this time. (The magical part is the full growth of long hair within three months.)

If his intermittently redone image was not enough, to constantly evolve, the man's moves have been new, fresh, and amazing over the years. Tombstone, "Last Ride," "The Devil's Gate," and the latest (and my favorite), the flip over the ropes!

His in-ring fundamentals are underrated as well.

The man has kept up an undefeated streak for several years at WrestleMania 25. The 17-0 streak has become historical as well as something to be revered.

I thank you for reading, but before I go, the one thing I cannot deny is that dive at "Backlash."

If the man is nearly seven feet tall and weighs 300 pounds, it is bad enough to land on the head from a standing position. To jump over the ropes—at that height and weight—you have to figure 14 to 15 feet at least, and not landing on the mat, but on concrete, and directly on top of your head!? That is not normal for a human!

To see 'Taker in action the next day...that is truly astonishing! The man does have super powers.

Thanks for reading.

The Backlash of Backlash: What Are the Implications of Tonight's Events?

Tonight we saw a Backlash that was really worth the money! Arguably, better than several events at WrestleMania XXV!

While the Entertainment was something to be had, the injuries and repercussions seem to be heavy.

Match No. 1: We saw Swagger vs. Christian. When Jack Swagger was pinned by Christian, a new Champion in Christian and an omen of things to come, set off the night.

Implication= we have not seen a 2x ECW champ since Bobby Lashley. This will be Jack Swagger fulfilling the prophecy of being the "future of the WWE."

For Christian, as they say, this validates his return.

Match No. 2: Chris Jericho beat Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

Match No. 3: CM Punk vs. Kane- Kind of a filler match.

Implication= If CM Punk can be beaten by Kane, his chances of winning against a champ are bleak.

Santino is the funniest man Quite possibly in the WWE ever.

Match No. 4: Hardy vs. Hardy: Jeff wins, and Matt apologizes and grovels.

NOW HERE WE GO! THE REASON FOR WRITING THIS, FROM HERE ON OUT!

Match No. 5 - Legacy vs. HHH, Money and Batista. Legacy wins, but, we may have all known the result, we did not know how.

Implications= HHH will be injured

Batista will chase the title.

Batista will be confronted by HHH when he returns in a few months and blames Batista for his loss. This will most likely make HHH a heel.

Legacy may now chase Tag titles.

Match No. 6: Edge vs.Cena, Edge won. He proved to be a hell of a lot tougher than anyone thought.

Implications= Fans could EASILY file some frivolous lawsuits, from Cena throwing Edge into the crowd.

Cena could also, be on the shelf for a little bit.

Edge will now be "complete" hopefully, this will make him happy enough to be "fun" (as he said when he talked to Christian backstage at Backlash) and maybe just talk to Christian again (NOT TAG)

Show will want a crack at the title now.

Thanks for reading.

The Spoiler Alert That Will Always Come from a Commentator

We all love to hear those familiar voices, who are experts in these fields. The voice of Jim Ross, when teamed with Jerry "the King" Lawler, a veritable word symphony is the piece of constant love of the sport. Triple H once said that "Good Old" J.R. has enthusiasm in his voice, second to none.

The phrases, that are so stock, "Stone Cold!, Stone Cold!" He's stompin' a mud hole in him and walkin' it dry!" The favorite, phrase that is a J.R. staple, the most synonymous with wrestling jargon: "Swanton!"

Jerry Lawler has a stream of hilarious jokes that never seem, to get old. They are corny, but always make me laugh. Michael Cole, even has' "That's Vintage"...(insert name of veteran here).

Over the years though, I have noticed a consistent pattern. I somehow see the spoiler alerts though, in each commentary, for each match.

The formula seems to be what outcome they do not seem to say. I guess the best, and latest example was the match between the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels atWrestleMania 25.

Leading up to the big match, we were listening to the pattern beginning. An Unvarying lines of Shawn Michaels winning the match. Shawn talked about how he was going to "strike down the Undertaker."

Shawn preached his gospel, he mach the Undertaker. In a promotion, the tombstone read "16-1." We saw Shawn taunting the Undertaker without any doubt of the undertaker keeping his streak.

J.R. never mentioned a possibility of a 17-0 result. A concern for the Undertaker was expressed, but never Shawn "Playing with matches." We heard "Shawn is getting in his head!" There was a line of inevitability when we heard, "No man has ever done this before."

When we hear about how one man seems to have an advantage, a better chance, that man is usually the loser.

The ultimate of indicators is in the match itself. When in a championship match this seems to be the mark of where the belt would go.

A man pins another we hear, "Could we have a new champion?!" The shout of, "this will be (insert name here) last chance at the title, if he picks up the win.

There is the call or stipulation that a championship will change hands if... For example, in a triple threat match, (inert name) does not even have to get pinned to lose his title.

The match at Backlash has a stipulation where any man can pick up the win on another to gain the belt. We know where this is going now.

In the end, I still love the sport. I am still surprised by the outcome plenty of times. I will always love the sound and stock voices of these great commentators.

WrestleMania 25 Results, Summary, Opinion, Predictions and Slam of the Night

I also wrote in the four slams of the Night! All short/quick, easy! Another easy read.

So Results, then Summary, then Opinon, then predicton outcomes. short reads on all. I will go by each match, recap in a few words and throw in a few thoughts (short ones.)

Key: R=result, S=summary, O=opinion and P= my prediction, was I wrong or right.

Match No. 1 - MITB

The first match we saw, was the "Money in the Bank, Ladder Match."

- the result = C.M. Punk takes the match for the second time! we also found out, what I always suspected..C.M. Punk = Chicago Made Punk.

S= stars put on a great, short, match. all of them made it almost to the top.

O= highlights were the bridge of ladders; innovative. We saw the match that was too short and the Kofi climb and jump over the ladder..not to mention the S.O.T. night.

I wish it would have been longer, this would have been better. I thought Benjamin would take it as I was watching. I was a bit disappointed with the outcome. We should have seen something new. I am a C.M. punk fan, but....

P= my prediction did not come true, nor did the worst.

Match No. 2 - 25 Diva battle Royal

R= "Stantina" Marella wins. He was in drag; he also directly eliminated Beth Phoenix.

S= quick,un eventful match. started before the bell, lasted only a few min.

O= I loved the result, but we could have seen credit given to the girls. They were thrown in w/o announcements.

P= wrong.

Match No. 3 - Chris Jericho vs. Legends

R = Jericho won, lost after, to Mickey Rourke.

S= Jericho ended up in final stage of elimination w/ Steamboat. then he called out Rourke, who knocked him out, (boxing style.)

O= steamboat was a bit slower, but still damn good. Rourke should NOT have ended w/ upper hand. Jericho was right. He is a real "tough guy," not Rourke.

P = prediction came true, w/ combo of the WORST!

Match No. 4 JBL vs. Rey Mysterio

R = Rey wins! New Champ. JBL QUIT!

S = JBL made his history; he lost the title/match in 22 seconds. He then QUIT!...History

O= I did not see this at all. This was a good one.

P = I was wrong.

Match No. 5 - Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy

R = Matt won

S = The two put on an okay match. They could have been allotted more time, but it was still good.

O = I just wish it were longer. I mean brother vs. brother? Please give me better matches. They know each other.

P = I was right on both of these

Match No. 6 - HBK vs. Taker

R = Taker won..17-0

S = Long match, full of close calls.

O = WOW! I did not see it coming, but match of the night fo sho!

P= Prediction right, worst did not come true.

Match No. 7 - Edge vs. Cena vs. Show

R= Cena wins title.

S = Shorter (Raw Like) match. Edge took out Vicki again.

O = Could have been a bit better, but it was good. This probably should have been done earlier in the night, as opposed to the back-to-back w/ WWE champ. match. I like Cena. I think he is jeered because he has not re-invented himself as the times adjust.

P = I was wrong about both, except I predicted Cena would win, I just saw it coming along differently.

Match No. 8 = HHH vs. Randy Orton

R = HHH wins, still the champ.

S = Longer match. Both battle it out, un-interrupted.

O = This could have been a "match for the ages." I thought it was kind of about as exciting as a "Koslov match."

P = I was so wrong. I did not see it coming.

NEXT=========================

Slams Of The NIGHT! Only four, but we go from wow to OH MY GOD!

4. Hardy Match - There was a cool table set up w/ 2 tables on top of each other, with a chair and Matt, in between. Jeff Splashed on to this off of the top buckle.

3. Shelton Benjamin, in the MITB ladder match. Benjamin jumps off of the tallest ladder available. He started on the one in the aisle and tried to do a flip. he more or less landed short, but on his upper back! (Holy S@#* chant.)

2. Jeff Hardy, leap frogs over a huge ladder, from a shorter one. He landed on his lower spine/ass, looking for one of those double leg drops. (he did not look okay afterwards).

1. Undertaker jumps for Shawn, over the ropes, to the outside. Taker lands with a dive, straight into the concrete, head first! Somehow, he kept going! Damn Taker!

No match No. 9! What happened to the lumberjack, undisputed tag title match ?!?!

WM 25 itself?

R = good show, could have been a bit better.

S =star studded, stone cold!...and well, we should have seen a bigger fuss!

O = great parts. this show would have been a bit more exciting with cages or diff. match types for the last 2 champ. matches.

P. = I was right about Stone Cold, and the Kid Rock performance. I was wrong about other gen. predictions. (McMahons and Legacy, stayed back stage!) Wow!

Thanks for reading

WrestleMania 25! What's the Worst That Could Happen? An Easy Read

The worst thing would be if this article was right.I am looking forward to tonight's P.P.V. This looks as if, WrestleMania will be the greatest event of all time.

Just like when I wrote the Royal Rumble article we will examine the worst outcomes of WM25.

I will also include my predictions if they differ. I will indicate a prediction with a "P-" and a worst thing, with a "W-" I hope none of my predictions would come true. There would be no surprises.

Well, getting to it:

Chris Jericho vs. WWE Legends

P - Chris Jericho wins, but is then beaten down by Ric Flair. or at some point the Hulkster steps in.

W - The legends beat him down, with the eventual help of Mickey Rourke.

25-Diva Battle Royal

W - This would go on as planned, and Michelle McCool or Maryse would win.

P - Gail Kim wins and Santino would only make an appearance. (I hope he wins) Oh yeah, it will be a relatively short match. Also, this becomes an annual event/crown.

WWE Tag Team Champions vs. World Tag Team Champions (Unified Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match)

W & P - A lumberjack gets involved, and Miz and Morrison win.

Intercontinental Champion JBL vs. Rey Mysterio

W - JBL tries to do something history making, but it ends like a Cena attempt to make history on Raw. JBL loses the title and is somehow humiliated.

P - Mysterio wins, but is unmasked (Last time he was unmasked, he looked like a kid).

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker

W - Shawn Michaels wins and/or somehow uses the stage as another chance to preach.

P - Undertaker devastates Shawn, with a 17-0 streak and somehow "Mr. WrestleMania" still manages to make a great spectacle.

Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy (Extreme Rules Match)

W - Matt and Jeff have a short, usual match similar to Jeff's previous extreme rules matches on SmackDown.

P - Matt wins and the two put on a hell of a show.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

W - Two people win, they both get the spoils of the match and it is short

P - Kane takes it. I would love it if Christian won, but the problem is..we all would.

World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. John Cena vs. Big Show (Triple Threat Match

W- John Cena wins the title, only because of the love triangle.

P- Vicki turns on one of the two (in the triangle) and the other wins.

WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton-

W - The match is going as planned, then the Legacy or McMahons change the course of the match...live performances (Kid Rock) and un-wrestling related stuff, take up too much time, taking time out of these great nine matches. and finally, nothing I haven't mentioned.

P- Legacy and McMahons both make appearances, then somehow find a way to keep the match between the two stars.

Other Predictions: Hulkster, maybe The Rock, show up in some capacity. but most definitely the McMahon family and Stone Cold (too predictable), and McMahons love the spotlight. At some point, JR and King reunite to announce.

Also, a wrestler somehow makes a comeback (RVD, Batista, a guy from TNA...).

Hi, I'm Blue Chip, and I'm Addicted to Pro-Wrestling

When I was five, I used to draw pictures and I was interested in things that were somewhat pointless, like most kids my age.

My mom saw my pictures and told me to get a new hobby, so I went upstairs and saw wrestling on TV.

I loved it from the get-go.

I saw the pagentry, I saw the trash talk, but I saw the violence as well. This was truly a sight to behold. From then on, I was hooked.

As a five-year-old, I loved it all, and as I grew older it seemed to grow with me. I saw my favorites at the time like Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake, Mr. Perfect, The Million Dollar Man, and Rowdy Roddy Piper.

So what is it that I love, as an adult?

The wrestling has become real, the moves now are more complex, and we see super-human performers, such as Evan Bourne.

We catch Brock Lesnar giving an F-5 to the Big Show! Rob Van Dam gives a "Van-Daminator" from across the ring, while Mick Foley works matches with tacks and barbed wire, and the Dudleys throw opponents through flaming tables.

We've seen growth from corny storylines, cheap acting, and more docile in-ring abilities. Now, it is a soap opera and the acting is not as bad...Okay, maybe there's still room to improve there.

But the wrestling itself is damn good.

I saw a special on pay-per-view on the history on the Intercontinental Championship. As the show touched on older matches, I noticed something: The wrestlers weren't even close to actually hitting their opponents.

When I was a kid, I did not notice things like clotheslines that obviously missed. Now, contact is made.

Now, the injuries come as a result of the moves and not just the script.

I am 27 years old and I am addicted to wrestling. Is there a 12-step program for me?

Thanks for reading.

—Blue Chip

What is A Wrestling Ring Really Made Of?

I have wondered about this, since I stayed late, after a house show, at 5 years old, and saw the ring being dismantled.
When Mick Foley fell off of the Hell in The Cell, We were all amazed. However, When Mick fell through the cell and on the mat, the locker room was much more shocked. Why was it that all of the wrestlers were so shocked by what seemed to be a cushioned fall? There are standards, as to how a ring is built. I will explain how the WWE, of today, constructs a wrestling ring.
Begin Slideshow

WresleMania 25!!-11 Reasons Why This Will Be The Event, Ever! Prove Me Wrong!

Wrestlemania 25 ! The reasons are many, the critics are plenty, but this is THE most anticipated event! Ever! Wrestlemania 25!

This year, we have a wonderful, historic, Wrestlemania to look forward to. This is shaping up to be the best event I can remember, in a long time, if not, ever!

Here are my reasons, this is going to blow the top off of Texas.

1. The line up, the card, is amazing, with just the matches in quantity alone.

Normally, we have had 5 events, for every, single, Pay Per View, since 90's, 2000. In the past, all of the events, especially, the "big 4," (as those were the only ones) always had 8 matches.

The matches sometimes sucked and were only on the cards because of the standard for those event's match quantity. Now, we already have at least 9 matches! That is more than I can recall for any event before this.

We will most likely see Swagger defend at WM as well, making 10 matches!

2. Back when the "big 4" were in play, WWF did not have the large amount of superstars that they do now. The roster was limited and had the same stars over the years. The WWF had the smaller roster for a couple of reasons.

The first, is that WWE simply did not have the following it does today. WWF was a circus show/ carnival, in the eyes of many, when the big four days.

The wrestlers, or potential wrestlers, saw the promotion in a similar light. Not many wanted to watch wrestling, be a wrestler, or could afford to spend the large amount of time, for such a small income.

3. The budget for this event will be astounding. At every Pay Per View, there is always a larger budget than a TV show. Even on television, we have seen beer and milk trucks, limousines and rising platforms...etc. for a simple entrance.

Each Superstar, has more pyro. than ANY entire TNA event. At the very beginning of each show, we see the huge amount of pyro and we see a full screen set, accompanied by a Titantron for each entrance.

This time, that will be a mere joke, as to the cash thrown into this event's set and execution. The PPV's are huge, but this one has to top them all.

If WM25, is to make history, the set alone, has to be a pure spectacle. We need to see pictures of past events, that will make this one historic, we need to see a unique amount of decorations and stimulating props, we need to see...

4. The quality of these matches. We have a great card!

1. Taker vs. HBK, 2. Orton v.s HHH, 3. Cena vs. Show vs. Edge. 4. Diva battle royal, 5. Money in the Bank, 6. Dirt Sheet vs. The Colons, 7. Jeff vs. Matt, 8. Jericho vs. Legends, 9. ECW Title Match, 10. JBL vs. Rey... These are looking DAMN good!

5. The fact that we have these new match ideas. These days, we have triple threats, we have the " Orton rules", we have M.I.T.B., we have so many types.

6. The build up. We have not seen a Pay Per View, for two whole months! That is a long time for the WWE to go, without trying to make that cash.

I have to admit though, I miss 'em too. This makes me, other fans, much more eager to see anything.

7. The story lines we have now are so much better than the big-4 days. We have great rivalries that have been brewing for some time. Potential for more surprises...

8. The quality of the stars themselves. Today we have a roster filled with tried and tested Superstars of the past, who we now pay more respect to, than we ever have in the past.

We havea roster of new blood. We have a promising amount of yesterday's, today's, and tomorrow's future H.O.F.

9. Financial WWE troubles. They need to bring in more fans. We know the WWE has fallen on hard financial times.

There are, and will be new fans, seeing this event, that are not into WWE or never have been. WWE must draw in more fans to keep it going.

10. My opinion—we need to see something that will make us all say, "DAMN!" not just in story, not just in spectacle; we need to look back and have dvd after dvd; we need to see a real, "historic night."

I also love where this is all going. Also, dropping Koslov from the scene, was like a warm blanket.

11. Hard financial times for all of us. In all recessions, especially the depression(s) the entertainment medium has traditionally stepped up its game.

To pull us all out of our financially depressing, emotionally sad, and bleak times, we need to see something that is damn good. This has always been the tradition in times like this.

Damn this one was long!, if you stuck with me 'til the end of this one, I gotta,-

---------Thank you for reading,

The WWE Turns to Seasons, Like a Real Pro Sport Franchise! More Money and Stars!

Modeling themselves after a Professional Sports Franchise, World Wrestling Entertainment will save money, shake things up and protect stars.

How can the WWE save money these days?

I have an idea that might work. If the rosters were divided up into seasons, (like professional sports teams) except they had interlocking seasons, the WWE could go all year round.

The stars may get less money, but the benefits of this would be great for the company, as well as the superstars themselves.

If the company were to instill titles that would only be available for each season, (Hardcore title and Cruiser weight (Smackdown tiles)...etc in season 1, Intercontinental, divas, World title, TV title, (Raw titles in season 2) Wrestlers could go back to wrestling both, or all three shows. The wrestlers do not have to work 300 days a year, they do not carry as many injuries, and they may be used longer, over the years.

The WWE would win, as each of the seasons would create excitement and change. As far as the big 4 PPV's.

That is when story line could build up over seasons, as each would change at one of the "BIG 4." for example a wrestler (from season 1) could start a storyline with superstar (from season 2) they cut promos., then meet the major PPV.

They could perhaps even exchange, or trade titles through matches at the PPV.

Fan Ratings would go up dramatically! We could see an evenly balanced roster, no more mass injuries. No more overcrowded rosters with too many champions!

I think this would save money, carry more stars, draw more crowd and attention (boosting ratings.) This would be easier on the superstars, and prevent injuries. Perhaps even the commentators and general manager would change as well.

In the end, who would NOT benefit?

Thanks for reading.

Why Do Professional Wrestlers Use Drugs? If You Don't Know, Now You Know

There are so many reasons to use drugs as a Pro Wrestler. The press, the media, society, all are quick to chastise the Professional Wrestler for this. This, however, is the choice of the wrestler, no longer, the force of a boss. There aren't simply one, but three drugs to be sought.

The demands of a professional wrestler are many! A professional wrestler is not simply asked to display a great body. Wrestlers are not simply asked to stay awake, on track, during tedious hours and a no-vacation, year.

Wrestlers are not simply asked to fight, wrestle, through injuries. These superstars and wannabe superstars are asked to do all three.

When signing that contract, with a big promotion, for many, this can be a dream come true! This moment, can also lead to a man/woman, who will sign ANYTHING to get this opportunity.

Wrestlers have traditionally been asked, nay, expected to have a super-human body. In the 80's and 90's, Vince McMahon has undergone trials, under which he was indicted for pushing Steroid use. He was ultimately acquitted.

The First demand, is steroid use, and or other "performance enhancing" drugs. To keep up with that traditional look as a wrestler, "juicing," is a well-known, common practice.

To use these drugs, one can achieve a body that is muscular, without as much work as a body builder. If the quick body type is not the desired effect, one can use Human Growth Hormones, along with Steroids.

This combination, can give a man the "carved" look. This will make a man stand out.

The second demand of this job or career, is the demand to work through the pain and tedium of the body and injuries, both in-ring and after effects. There is a need to work every week, stay on a show, to appear either once every week, sometimes, even three or four times a week. How does one keep up?

A wrestler can "work through the pain" by using even their first, legitimately prescribed, pain killer. When that first injury/ pain occurs, it is eased by these drugs and the wrestler can keep going after that first RX.

When the star needs to keep going, why be in pain day, after day, week, after week....? Why not simply increase a bit, get more money, while working more?

The third demand is pure tedium, boredum, and the need to stay awake during arduous travel and conditions. A common practice for people who are living a fast, rich, famous life, is the use of traditional street drugs.

One drug in particular, which seems to be the most prevalent, is cocaine. This practice is not limited to wrestlers, but film, music, and other types of celebrities. Many Celebrities die in "Hollywood," yet this is seen as a romantic way to go.

When a wrestler uses drugs, be it a "performance enhancing," "recreational," or a prescription drug, this is a sought after result for the media. Wrestlers are chastised for all of this, due mostly, to the trials of Vince McMahon. Wrestlers have always been outcasts of common society.

Wrestlers, as wrestling itself, have been seen as a televised carnival act.The mainstream press has never bothered to watch this sport, in the same fashion as the NHL, NBA, NFL...

The wrestlers themselves, will therefor, not taken seriously. This status in society, is what makes a member of the media look at the sport as they "dip-in," rather than watching, and understanding the sport for what it is.

In an interview with Kurt Angle, on a show called "Off The Record," He says this best. A man signs a contract to follow the demands, both physically and mentally. A work schedule is to be observed as well as a tedious schedule.

When a person signs that contract, it is up to that person, individually, to carry out those demands how they see fit. If the star needs to take a set of 'P.E.", "rec." or RX, that maybe the only way to keep up, in their mind.

Vince asks quite a bit, but does not push. The "Wellness Policy" of the WWE may not be a solution, but this is a step in the right direction.

Thanks for reading.

Test Dies: Another Wrestler Falls Due to Drugs—Never More Than a Footnote

This photo was a Mugshot after a DUI. Sad to hear about yet another wrestling tragedy, as another victim falls to drugs.

This is not unusual in the pro wrestling world, but always sad to see. Test was not Hall of Fame material, he simply died at a young age. He was not pushed or given more, as it was not something he earned.

Test, who died last night, fell to drugs. Unfortunately, this is "Par for the Course," as a Wrestler, or former pro wrestler.

In the film, "The Wrestler," Mickey Rourke's character, "The Ram," was hanging on to his career. The same seems to be true for several wrestlers. As Chris Jericho says, there are many "Wrestling Tragedies."

As "The Ram" kept going, he was never able to let go of the drugs. The point of all of this is pertinent in the "Test" situation. Several wrestlers have been on drugs, then drugs, then other drugs.

In the end, Drugs are DRUGS! I know it sounds unsympathetic, but the fault is ALWAYS that of the user.

Test was also not a "stand out wrestler." Test was not someone who should have had a bigger push! Test earned what he accomplished, nothing more or less.

Frankly, Test did not really have mic skills. He was a bit "above the cut," in the ring, but that is never going to be enough.

As far as the Hall of Fame goes, this is not appropriate in the case of "Test." There was no longevity in the career. There was nothing in particular, to remember Test.

Entering Test in the Hall of fame would preclude genuine qualifications. The prerequisite to the Hall of Fame, cannot simply be dying by an overdose.

I am not saying Test was not a good person (I never knew, or met him), I am not saying this man deserved what he got, an early death, especially due to personal "demons" is never warranted.

This death will always be sad. This death was unfortunately not the first nor will it be the last end of this nature. This article may sound harsh, but romanticising the deceased is not what I do.

There were career highlights, such as The T&A tag team. There was the storyline of engagement to Stephanie Mac.

Intercontinental Champ, Tag Champ, w/ Booker T, World Tag Champ with Booker, Hardcore Champ. 2x, European Champ. The man did it.

3 drug demands/ types attracted. the job demands, some use diff. tech. #1 performance enhance. #2 rx drugs #3 good old fashioned illegal.

I know... too early

offic. autopsy= heart failure, due to roids.

if you disagree, with the article, or its content, the problems are- w/ the article, NOT ME as a person.

The style may not be your first choice, but it is not my usual style. This does not make my responsibility for this article any less. I never claimed to be a journalist! This article is listed as opinion. This is simply MY opinion.

Christian, Christian! : At Last He's On His Own!

One of the most rumored, anticipated returns to the WWE roster. Christian is back, but to what end?

I have been away for a bit, so I don't know what others have been writing on this subject.

I love this guy! He has the nickname Captain Charisma for a reason. He is the Instant Classic, for a reason. TNA seemed to have seen something in Christian, that the staff at WWE, apparently, does not.

I was thrilled to simply see his return, it was off-putting however, when it was on ECW. I thought, "at least he'll come in and grab the (not so coveted) ECW title," right? but not only did he lose his title match, but it was fair and square! Swagger simply out-wrestled Christian!

This beginning to a comeback has been less than impressive. I was hoping Christian would at least win the ladder qualifier, to be seen at Wrestle Mania 25! Obviously, it would be preferable (in my mind) to see him take the match, but the way things have been going...

I simply do not see that push that I feel he deserves. Why come from TNA, where he is a baller, to WWE, as a flunkee? The money must be much better in the WWE, but I really hope the WWE does not keep him below Mike Knox level.

One Of A Time? : Rob Van Dam Made a Comeback at The Royal Rumble.

Before you read this, did anyone else see a preview of "Next Week's SmackDown!" Before the end of the broadcast, the winners were declared and lined up. Now RVD!

Rob Van Dam showed up at the Royal Rumble, last week. When he was seen, he immediately commanded the attention and adoration of the crowd. Every one has been wondering what's next for RVD.

When I first saw the arrival of "Mr. Monday Night," I was completely taken off guard. I heard the music, I didn't even recognize it for a few seconds. It has been so long since I saw the "Hardcore High Flyer" in action.

As I watched him going all out, Rob Van Dam style, I was psyched! I was amazed, how he had no "ring rust." Rob was in full swing, great as ever! My first thought was "I hope he wins!" On the other hand, it has been all too cliche to see a comeback and a victory.

After RVD had been tossed out, I was just about as upset as the live audience. My next thought, however, was "What show is he going to be on?" The announcements were made, that there would be an "Elimination Chamber" match. I just knew that he would have to be in one. He has always been amazing in those matches.

The only problem was, I looked on WWE.com and as I was searching through the rosters while writing another article, I saw no evidence RVD had even been in the "Rumble," or in any roster.

There are no pictures of Van Dam. There is no info on Rob. He was back for as long as Kizarny's debut. Horrible to think RVD would compare to Kizarny in any way.

Either way, he pulled a Kaiser Sosay. "And like that, (hoo) he was gone."

IS Gary Busey Jack Swagger's Father?

How Long is too Long to carry around a Slammy?

Why does Jack Swagger look like Gary Busey when he smiles?

What makes Awesome Kong awesome? And not just a fat chick who wants to wrestle?

What is the difference between TV ugly and Vicki Guerro ugly?

Are the "Beautiful People" simply beautiful by comparison in the roster? (TNA)

Can a person be famous on ECW without being Champ?

Did Maryce win the title because she used 5 minutes of unorthodox hand movements, prior to pointing at the belt?

Is a person gay if they check out Lita?

Did the movie “the Crow” come out before or after sting changed his face paint?

Is John Cena a lost brother of Marky Mark? (the looks, not necessarily the rapping)

Does oil on a wrestler make the difference between fat and muscular?

Why do girls never oil up where it counts?

Why does the name Dolph Ziggler remind me all too much of the role of Dirk Diggler in Boogie nights?

When does a steel cage match turn from steel bars to chain link?

Now that John Cena is playing a Cop in his movie, will he wear a badge, then kiss it before he wrestles?

Does DJ Gabriel, look like Sylvan Granier

Is raven just plain lazy when he sits in the corner?

Do you think Mark Henry gave up his sexual chocolate with his “O-Himry” bar?

When Gold dust takes off his make up and keeps his wig on, does he look like the guy who is the torturer from Princess Bride?

When RVD is wrestling, does he look stoned?

How do they fall through the ring?

When Manu has his hair down, does he look like the fat guy from Lost?

Wrestling is a sport which requires an amazing amount of cardio. How does someone like Samoa Joe lose the weight?

Is anything of importance, actually stored under the ring?

Do you think HHH’s favorite drink is actually an “Apple-tini?”

Does it take more work to stay in the royal rumble, or go out on the first try?

Do you think Natalya grew up learning wrestling because they didn’t find out she was a girl ‘til it was too late?

Is it rude to spit in the ring? Several wrestlers do, but they have to get on the mat in like 10 seconds…eww.

When Stone cold sprayed beer at Vinnie mac, did any of the kids have their mouth’s open

When Kurt Angle sprayed milk, did it ruin clothes?

Do single girls ever just go by themselves to a wrestling events?

Why do some wrestlers look like they are in trunks, then others just look like they are down to their underwear?

Where does Jerry Lawler get his shirts? Does he have more than three?

Does Stephanie McMahon look like the “Cholula” girl?

Why is William Regal from “Black Pool” England, But Kahli is just from plain India?

What is on Kahli’s chest?

When wrestlers are whispering in each other’s ears during a match, is it dirty?

If I get knocked out, can someone put me in a striped shirt; roll me into a ring, so I can be okay immediately?

Do wrestlers wear deodorant?

Can Raw start, just one week, with a wrestling video synced to the opening theme from “Cheers?”

Does ECW seem like when Friends went off the air, then they made that spin-off called Joey?

Do you think that you could put peanut butter in Festus’ mouth, to make him look like he’s talking?

Would I still write about wrestling if I was a wrestler?

YOU READ IT! YOU CAN'T UN-READ IT!

Thanks for reading

Royal Rumble : Matt Hardy Lays It Down!

The twist of fate that almost no one saw coming.

Tonight at the Royal Rumble, Edge and Jeff hardy were scheduled to face off in a title bout for the WWE Championship. The moment the music for the two superstars came to a close, there was a last minute twist.

Vicki Guerro announced she had decided to make the match a no- disqualification match. The two squared off in a great way. Both Edge and Jeff were putting on a wonderful match. These two were flying, and there were a ton near-pin falls and risks.

Chavo Guerro decided to jump in and handicap Jeff, but Jeff made short work of him, as he jumped off of a 15-foot ladder then plummeted through the announcer table and Chavo Guerro.

The match seemed to be in control until Vicki approached the ring. She arrived with a chair and plans of hurting Jeff's chances. To "even the odds," Matt Hardy slid into the ring (after losing his rematch ECW Championship bout with Swagger) and grabbed a chair as he sent Vicki to the other side of the ring.

Edge seemed to have a "CONCHAIRTO" in mind. He was about to complete this until Matt arrived. As Edge lay prone on the ground, the brothers were deciding who was to hit Edge with the chair shot.

Matt swung for the fences—at his brother. The crowd was surprised, all were shocked, including Edge.

My prediction: Edge and Matt form an alliance. Matt is sick of living in Jeff's shadow. He has become embittered.

Jeff Hardy will seem alone, until Christian makes his return. The pair will team to engage in a long feud with Matt Hardy and Edge (at least that is what I hope).

Royal Rumble! Tonight: What's the Worst that Could Happen?

The Royal Rumble is tonight. This will no doubt be a great Pay Per View to watch. These matches are set up to please the WWE fan nation. Every week we see some great shows. The WWE may have its flaws, but they are tyring their best.

Imagine the WWE Universe, from the perspective of the company. They have had massive budget cuts. The WWE has had to lay off several superstars, on their roster. The office in Australia has been shut down. This may sound frivolous, but Vince McMahon has had to fire his personal entourage.

The story has been what is acceptable to the creative team. There will always be better ways, that we can all think of as to how the WWE can improve. The thing is, no matter how much we think it should improve, we all still watch.

Now ladies and gentlemen, I will practice hypocrisy to the level of my satisfaction! the worst that can happen at the Royal Rumble, in my opinion, would be the following.

Match No. 1: ECW Title match: Jack Swagger vs Matt Hardy

MatchNo. 2: Beth Phoenix vs Melina (Women's Championship)

Match No. 3: John Cena vs JBL Heavyweight Championship.

Match No. 4: The Royal Rumble itself. Here is a list of the participants.

Finlay, Mark Henry, C.M. Punk, Miz, Morrison, R- truth, Carlito, HHH, The Brian Kendrick, HHH, Big Show, Koslov, Benjamin, Taker, Orton, Jericho, Kingston, mysterio, cody rhodes, Dibiase, Marella, and Kane...But that is only 22

Match No. 5: Edge vs Jeff Hardy

The worst could be as follows:

No. 1: In the ECW match, a Mark Henry Run-in. No clear cut winner and Swagger is left with default.

No. 2: Women's Champ, Marella distracts Melina and Phoenix pics up the cheap win.

No. 3: Cena World champ match—HBK doesn't know what to do, so he seems conflicted and leaves the ring.

No. 4: Rumble match, Koslov could win, as more of a push.

No. 5: WWE title, the match could go on as planned and we find out that the person behind all of the attacks has been Vicki Guerro, or Chavo.

Thanks for reading.

How ECW Lost its Place in the Wrestling World Part III

This is a long one. This is NOT a biography, or "the story of" ECW. This is simply MY ECW.
I have seen the progress and regress of ECW. I have watched as this has gone from what I call "our ECW" to "their ECW."
This was a unique, bloody, new brand. There was a new excitement, more spectacle, and crazy, dedicated men behind it all. This was Extreme Championship Wrestling!
This was the idea, was the unique vision, sparked by the inspiration, of the WWF. This ECW of old, was the fruition, of a man's dream, determination, and "follow through."
Please, keep in mind, I loved ECW. I still love watching wrestling. There will always be ways, to love wrestling. One brand, or the next. One form, or the other. Wrestling will always be...wrestling.
Begin Slideshow

WWE Champion Jeff Hardy Has Pyro Accident! Who Is To Blame?

What happened to Jeff hardy's pyrotechnics display tonight that may have caused him to be blind? Why did Vicki just stand there and watch all of this happen? Will Jeff be able to wrestle for the gold at the Royal Rumble?

All of these questions and more answered....well, now.

Tonight on Friday night Smackdown: Jeff Hardy is blinded and according to WWE.com, "burned," as his entrance to the ring. This was the result of a pyrotechnics malfunction.

In tonight's video, and aired program, Jeff was on his way to the ring, with the intent to become a guest on the "Cutting Edge."

As many stage hands and fellow wrestlers tried to help, the struggle was to keep Jeff in one place. Jeff was holding his eyes and appeared to be in an extreme amount of pain.

As E.M.T.s rushed to his side, they were able to bring with them, a stretcher and help Jeff off of the stage.

Vickie Guerrero and Edge seemed to look on with concern, as they watched Jeff receive assistance. There appeared to be nothing Edge, Vicki, nor anyone else for that matter, could do to help.

This came as a huge shock to the concerned fans, as their faces were wrought with concern.

This is where my "Late Breaking News" becomes an editorial.

It is my opinion that this being the third week in a row, of Jeff Hardy having accidents, is all to convenient. Last week it was a car accident, which happened to have full video and audio coverage, in addition to perfect blocking.

This would not have been so odd, if there were not a second camera.

This week, I see Jeff in the middle of a fireworks display. The pyro starts prior to it's normal entrance Que. I suppose this again would not be so suspect if there were not horrible actors surrounding the injured superstar.

As if this were not enough, it seemed quite odd to have everyone perfectly attached to audio at that point. There is also my recall of never seeing his pyro center in that close.

I do not think anyone can argue with the following facts, which are not suspect, simply proof.

1. If there were cause for concern, there would have been an entirely different personnel situation.

2. This is all too convenient to have all of these accidents occur in succession.

3. This is by far the most convincing, (in my opinion.) The "Cutting Edge" was Edge scheduling an interview with Jeff. Were Jeff to meet in the ring there is no doubt, this would have taken at least five minutes time.

Yet, Jeff is on his way in, and the pyro problem hits. This is all over with, in about two and a half minutes. This time is conveniently appropriate to end the broadcast, down to the second, as he is carried back stage.

Who is to blame for this? If Christian does not make his return, and assume blame for all of these attacks, I would be somewhat surprised.

There is alway the possibility that Christian never returns to the WWE and the storyline was not a build up for a surprise debut. If he never returns, I would simply make the assumption that the culprit would be Edge.

At this point, there are two people who could be behind these attacks, who would be surprisingly refreshing. The first would be HHH, looking for a title match. The most intriguing however, would be Matt Hardy, from a "jealous brother angle."

If Jeff Hardy will make it to the Rumble, there is always doubt. Realistically, there is a 99.99 percent chance, he is just fine wherever he is. There could be a story of Jeff being too injured to compete, however. Time will tell, how far and long this storyline will run.

HBK, Shawn Michaels, Heartbreak and Triumph!

I understand, this will be a controversial article to those who read it.

Maybe you could explain the love everyone has for HBK to me. It is not my intent to be derogatory in any way, I simply don't understand your love. From my view, I see a guy who has more or less complained his entire career. He seems to have an amazing amount of baggage. There is always an angle of "working through so much adversity".

He brings his substance abuse issues to the public, and then we are made to reward him for the accomplishmet of quitting and "Finding Jesus".

He is always talking about his love for his family, yet does not seem to spend much time with them or travel with them. There is also the chronic back issues.

He always seems to have some amazing obstacle to overcome. Even this current angle of being out of money seems to just be more baggage. It is simply my opinion that HBK has a very limited amount of creativity in the ring, or that what he had has simply passed.

I also feel that Michaels has little to offer for the microphone. The impact, in my mind, seems to have left, as well as the possibility of ever seeing anything new.

One could argue that he is a legend because of how long he's been in the business, or because of all the titles he's held, but I don't think that is the case.

The reason for writing this is not to take away from HBK or his fans. I just don't understand his appeal.

I know that's an unpopular view, but I ask that you respect that it's my opinion, and nothing more.

What Is a 5 Star Match? WWF, WWE, ECW, WCW, TNA

When I think of a five star match, I think of the best matches I have ever seen. Not a top ten list, not what someone else thinks is a "five star match." This is an article for the rest of us who also enjoy wrestling.

To get started, I think one of the best matches was the match at the tournament for the Undisputed Title. That match had variety, so much suspense, an incredibly surprising ending.

I think it was always a great match when Stone Cold and The Rock were in the same ring. With Jericho, (who is always gonna be my favorite) in the mix, that had the superstar ingredients. The in ring performance was nothing but a full delivery.

Another was the first "ultimate X" match ever. The company was still finding its bearings, trying to do something new. This match was all of TNA management trying to do something revolutionary.

This concept match came out of nowhere and was amazing to watch. Even though Chris Sabin lost, he was clearly the star of the match. This fruition of Don West, imagination, was amazingly unsafe and unpredictable.

The best thing was the willingness of the wrestlers to go so far and risk so much. This was purely because TNA was trying to gain footing, the wrestlers were incredibly hungry to make that impact.

An ECW match that stuck out in my mind, was also deemed one of "ECW's most violent matches." This was the match between the Rotten brothers. We saw the first ever, " Taipei death match."

This was where each opponent taped up their fists. They would then dip their hands in glue, then into broken glass. This was an idea that sounded as bad as it was.

The brothers worked around the entire arena and left a bloody mess of each other. This was an incredibly disturbing reminder of how little we have changed since the Romans watching gladiators.

A WCW match that I thought was an amazing one, was Mos. Def. the first ever, WAR GAMES MATCH! This was the brainchild of Dusty Rhodes. It was an amazingly ridiculous idea, in that it was such a reach to do "something new." This worked!

The match had mediocre wrestlers, the best of which were the Road Warriors. The amazing thing about this match was not the talent. This match was purely spectacle and brutality!

A great WWF match, perhaps by my opinion only, would be the "Inferno Match!" That match was such a spectacle. This match had a great meeting of the Undertaker and Kane, who carried on a great rivalry. Flames everywhere! Kane on fire! On fire!

This match had the sounds of the gas when an impact would spike the flames. This match had the heat! Everyone at ringside, the fans, the announcers, and especially the wrestlers were hot as HELL!

The smell of the superstars, when in flames was talked about by many fans, the smell of hair, talked about by commentators! Everything except for taste, this match hit 4 out of 5 senses.

One of my favorites, and still to this day remains, the Elimination Chamber!!! This was an amazingly revolutionary idea by Eric Bischoff. The suspense of the first one, just hearing how it was built, the lengths of chain, the glass, the size was sooooo cool!

The appearance of this circus tent, shaped hell hole, delivered everything it promised. Talent, (amazing talent) has always been a part of these matches. Jericho, Angle, HHH, Goldberg, RVD...The first match we saw glass break, we saw blood from friction with the chains. We even saw wrestlers on top of the pods and jumping onto each other, More painful was the steel grating at the bottom!

Now there are the classics, that almost everyone can agree on. The first is most definitely the Hell in the Cell with Undertaker vs. Mankind. The next, The first ever boiler room match.

Next we have the barbed wire matches. Just about all of the replacement of ropes, with the barbed wire (rather than placing the wire over the ropes) has always been great. The first ever TLC match!

The tables were a gimmick of the Dudley boys. The ladders were the specialty weapon of the Hardy's. Then there were the chairs, which were the E&C thing. putting a ladder on top of an area with tables beneath, then hitting the opponent off of the ladder with a chair, through the tables...that's just...well..amazing!

I am sure there are plenty more great classics. I am also sure I haven't nailed them all. I am also sure you can add a few. I am also sure I have reached "the suggested" amount of sentences in a paragraph when writing an article.

Top Ten Worst Gimmicks in WWE History

We have always seen different gimmicks in professional wrestling, that have been less than desirable. We see them from the moment we are watching, and ask ourselves, "are they serious?" "I can't believe that is all it takes to be a wrestler!

We also know that the WWE put out a list like this before, but I think one that WE could put together, would be better and much more fun.

Often, we are into the whole thing. We are either too young, or too immersed in the plot to realize anything is wrong. We don't see how bad it was until a few years later.

In most cases, it is easy to constantly look for a flawed gimmick, or one you may not like. This list is not for those crazy gimmicks that somehow still work today (boogie man, Undertaker, Great Kahli. )

This is an area reserved specifically for those superstars and storyline, that all of us, everyone that is not even a regular viewer, would stand back and say....."I can't believe you watch this crap!"

We have had the "homosexual marriage," The gooney thing, the "3 minute warning," the "Booger guy," the Survivor series Turkey," and even the "spirit squad." and so much more...
Prime example was the ruthless, senseless beatings of zach gowan.

Begin Slideshow

Chris Jericho FIRED? Save Us!

Can it be that Y2J is gone from WWE for good? Usually when "Vince Mac" says "you're fired" that is it. The career is over and no one can remember a comeback from those two words.

So why is it that this doesn't seem to be real? I suppose the main reason is that it was not "Vinnie Mac." If there is a resemblance of truth in the speech he gave about Vince coming back, then perhaps we can "be saved."

Chris Jericho has always been my favorite wrestler, by far. Lately I have been wanting and waiting to see the "highlight reel." Jericho is always better as a heel and will always need more mic time.

I think that Michael Cole kind of gave it away when he said, "Jericho is out of the Rumble." I at least hope he did.

"The King" had to step in a bit later and say he was out of the whole WWE. I hope this is all there is. I hope that Jericho is simply out of the Rumble. Perhaps all of Stephanie's comments leading up to the firing were true.

Jericho does not have to try for the "World Title" again. Between the fact that there are several top contenders for the gold and one of them needs a shot, this would make sense. I also think this is a great way to take him out of the title picture in a justified way.

When Jericho does come back, I hope he is brought in as a heel still. He is already a man who is a cheered heel. It could be that he needs time with his family. Jericho could need time to recalibrate his gimmick. Chris could just be out for good but that seems so far from right.

Jericho cannot go. I was listening to a talk radio interview, and they were asking Vince, HHH, Big Show, and Jericho about their injuries.

Jericho was the only one in the group to say that he had never been injured. A person doesn't train a lifetime around the world, stay free of injuries, become a crowd favorite, while a heel, debut for a while, and then fade away six months later!

Save us Y2J!

Where Is M.V.P. Going To End Up?

Who doesn't love M.V.P.? This guy is hilarious, fun, cocky and filled with charisma! Montel Vontavious Porter has Mic. Skills, in-ring ability, and never leaves us waiting for an "up moment." So why has he been on a steady and pronounced losing streak? Usually when a wrestler is a "jobber," they are fading away, or trying to find footing. M.V.P. however, is not doing/ experiencing any such thing.

Every week, Montel is in the ring and has made a point of losing and being on a streak. He has had his pyro. taken away. Porter has had his archway taken. This last week he even had his "V.I.P. lounge" taken down.

To add to the odd story angle, Ken Kennedy has been interrupting his speeches with movie plugs and trash talk. This M.V.P. storyline in itself, seems like pulling back a veritable slingshot. When released it would be great to see him with an amazing winning streak. Possibly starting with a P.P.V. win or a title match.

The only thing I cannot put my finger on, is the Kennedy angle. If Kennedy were to somehow work in a way to slowly talk to M.V.P., this would be the start of a great tag-team. Maybe Kennedy turns Porter to a "face" and they work together.

In my opinion, I can't really see much reason for all of this obvious build up of both careers only for it to end with Kennedy pinning M.V.P. Likewise, I cannot see why Kennedy would lose to Porter, after a long awaited debut, (which everyone knows, a debut match is always a winning match).

Goodnight.

Kizzarny? Kizzarny Whizzo?

Hizzee Wizzent Izzout Lizzike Thizzat!

In the teasers, the double dutch was a little much, but was somewhat tolerable. Kizzarny had that guy next to him all of the time, and they would do carny tricks.

The teasers stopped and weren't seen again for about a month. When we saw these promos, again, we saw nothing new, unfortunately.

The next week, it was time for Kizzarny (or Sinn Bowdee in FTW) to make his debut. Sadly, this was not much of a debut for him. Between the predictable carnival music entrance and what looked like a mixture of "Voodoo Queen" and "Boogie Man" movements it was already off to a bad start.

Once Kizzarny was in the ring, he was not an amazing wrestler. He was mostly weird for the sake of being weird (and not in the boogie man way).

His finisher was not all that wonderful, and the commentators were left with nothing to say except for..."that's strange." This reminded me of that list compiled of the top 25 worst wrestling gimmicks put out, released by the WWE.

All of the negative being said, let's start with a bit of constructive criticism. How much cooler would it have been to see the man from the promos as a valet?

In the promotional ads, that guy was doing some pretty cool stuff. If he would have come down the ramp, hanging a bowling ball on his lip, or something dangling from the eyelids, that could have really helped.

Every week, the manager could have done different carnival acts and drawn our attention. This would have helped the spectacle. Nothing though, could have been cooler than to see Kizzarny doing this on the way, or in victory.

Another thing that could have really helped, is if he would have only brought out the "double dutch" for effect, rather than speech. The more one heard it, the worse it sounded.

Kizzarny would definitely have helped himself by playing to the crowd more. He could have also spoken in a way to relate, on the mic. I think that when speaking that way, whether you realize it or not, you are distancing yourself from the audience.

The end result...Kizzarny's picture is gone from the website. He will never be spoken of again, and he most likely won't be remembered in even a year.

It is tough to be a wrestler. The man did not look young, and has most likely been working at this for a while, only to be trashed the first night, without finding a footing.

One opportunity, I must admit was a bit unfair, would be that he wouldn't be able to do any of this in any house shows.

I'm tired, I'm goin' to bed.

OVW On TV: The Prospect

"The Wrestler" movie could happen on TV! It is a plausible idea, simply just MY plausible idea.

First of all it should be said that Vince absolutely hated the movie, "the wrestler." for this to work he'd have to "get over it." that said...

This is a company that is NOW and has been a local televised division. As everyone knows, this is a company owned by the wwe. This is a place for the future superstars, breaking in, to practice before a debut.

Unfortunately, this is also a place where they come to die. where wrestlers start the aftermath of wrestling tragic story, shawn michaels is constantly talking about in his new angle. I think the local television could still be broadcast, as well as a wider viewer base, with little investment on the part of the wwe (to help solve their economic crisis).

I believe in making a reality television series simply filmed at ohv. many will never make it, many may and many will go back there to fizzle out. if this were accompanied by interviews with wrestlers, not so much storyline, but a real raw, backroom, tone, this would be big.

With tough enough, they were never groomed properly and it was a reality show in the most traditional of senses. people who wanted to be on tv. this would be people who want to wrestle and happen to have a camera there. I really think this could work!

A Better WWE for 2009

I suppose the way to start improvement is the roster, and replacements if in sight.

For example:

Vladimir Koslov

This man has to have another angle, something more than simply being Russian.

I recall the match with HHH at Judgment Day, where the crowd was shouting, "boring, boring..." The man has no mic skills and that is a double threat of "meh."

He could be replaced perhaps by Christian or muscularly appropriate.

Ezekiel

He is attached to Brian Kendrick (to keep up his angle of being obnoxious.) This, I believe, would be a great angle, except the unforeseen.

If Ezekiel develops some mic skills, he should have that push that Koslov is getting. Kendrick could find a tag partner, perhaps equally obnoxious, then a fun tag team to hate.

Vicki

Vicki, Vicki, Vicky! We realize Eddie is gone and that was a place, not the first place, she should have been. However, she did have potential.

Through the years, she has become boring, predictable, and dry. In addition to this, her mic skills, acting, appearance, and angle all need improvement.

Kane

He should put the mask back on. It worked for Abyss. The issue with Kane has always been his lack of pinning a finger on a functional storyline. The more he talks, the less sense we make of it, the less we care. His acting seems labored.

A super sweet dream is a stable of Orton, Jericho, Christian, and Edge! That would be a faction of power comparable to that of Evolution. Enen, banding a new evolution to counter with HHH, Batista, and two more (maybe Hardys) would be so sick.

John Cena

Cena needs an equal. A charismatic "Stone Cold" to his "Rock." It would genuinely help if he could get some marketable pump-up shoes again, and bring back free-style.

With cut-backs in the budget, I suppose it is too much to expect spectacle, such as beer and milk trucks or HBK on a line.

Jericho

In an interview, Jericho said he came back to do something interesting and creative. Unfortunately, as my favorite wrestler, he has not been all too creative and a mere shadow of his old persona.

He has the mic and in the ring he had his push. He needs a new storyline written for him.

As a replacement for Vicki, who wouldn't want another McMahon, Teddy Long, Bischoff, or Heyman.

Okay, this is long enough. Hope you liked it. I'm going to bed.
