Career Totals

Mr. Big Shot has been the leader of the Eastern Conference team of this decade, and Chauncey Billups has been their best all-around player throughout that run.

In 2004 he won Finals MVP (21 ppg, 5.2 apg) when the Pistons knocked off the Lakers for a ring. He also led the Pistons back to the finals a year later to a seventh game, but came up just short of a repeat.

He has garnered some regular season MVP talk since then — most notably in ‘05-06, when he averaged 18 points and almost nine assists on a 64-win Pistons team.

He’s got four All-Star berths in an era where the Eastern Conference has been stacked with high-quality guards. He made the All-Star team this year in Western Conference is loaded with quality guards for example Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

He's won a gold medal with the Redeem Team last year. Billups has been on the all-NBA second team once and third team twice. He's also been honored on the all-NBA defense second team twice.

Billups is the only player to lead his team to seven consecutive conference final appearances.

The question I pose is if he ultimately wins another title and leads the Nuggets to at least the conference finals or even the NBA Finals, should he be in the NBA Hall of Fame when his playing days are over?

If he can take the Nuggets to three or more straight conference or NBA Finals appearances and wins a title. It will be 10 straight conference finals, two or more NBA Finals appearances and two or more NBA championships, and stays at his career averages every season, he's a sure fire NBA Hall of Famer in my eyes if not already.
