The Top 10 Fishing Locations in Pennsylvania

So the famous statement holds true: "A bad day of fishin' is better than a good day of work" (author unknown).

When I think of fishing, a few things come to mind. It's not a hobby; it's a lifestyle. Like anything else in life, you have to love it. If you go out the first day of the season and then call it a year—don't call yourself a fisherman.

One last thing comes to mind when I think of fishing. The Chinese proverb that states "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

Throughout this article, I will fill you in on the "hot spots" in Pennsylvania. The list consists of the top 10 fishing locations through the entire state, ranging from creeks to lakes to rivers.

10. Wiconisco Creek

The Wiconisco Creek is located in Central Pennsylvania, approximately 20 miles north of Harrisburg, flowing over 42 miles long. The creeks watershed covers nearly 116 miles throughout Dauphin and Schuykill counties. The creek covers 11 different townships and seven different towns throughout its entire flow.

The Wiconisco Creek ends in Millersburg, PA where it enters into the Susquehanna River. In 2003, the Wic Creek was the most stocked creek throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. The Wiconisco Creek is stocked with numerous amounts of beautiful trout. These trout consist of rainbow, brown, brook, and palomino.

9. Slate Run

Slate Run ranks among one of the best trout fishing streams in all of Pennsylvania. The creek is located in the North Central part of the state. Slate Run is known for it's significant mixture of pools, pockets, riffles, and runs that are stocked with a large mass of trout. The creek is known mainly for it's clear water and great fly fishing. The Slate is stocked with rainbow, brown, brook, palomino, and tiger trout.

8. Youghiogheny River

The Youghiogheny River is referred by many as the "Yuck waters." The river is located in the Southern western part of the state and ranks among the top trout fishing waters.

Although the Yuck is known for its trout, there are many other fish that roam the waters consisting of walleye, saugers, small and largemouth bass, along with spotted bass. The Youghiogheny River held the Bass Master Classic in 2005. The Yuck is best fished starting in late spring.

7. Penns Creek

The Penn is located in State College, Pennsylvania. Penns Creek was voted in the "America's Top 100 Trout Steams" this past year and continues to be publicized due to it's great fishing. The major why this creek is so popular is it's large Green Drake hatch May through June.

The Penn is known for its inconsistent waters ranging from still to some of the most rapid moving waters in the entire state. Penns Creek ranks among the very top in fly fishing within the state of Pennsylvania. Penns Creek is swarmed with numerous amounts of trophy sized trout.

6. Ohio River

The Ohio River is considered the best catfishing waters through the state of Pennsylvania. The river's rapid moving water is accompanied by stretches are still areas. The most frequent catfish caught in the Ohio are the flathead and channel catfish.

A number of fisherman have ranked the Ohio the rest fishing in PA, not only because of the quality fish, but the quantity. Besides the catfish, the Ohio provides other great fishing opportunities with other fish consisting of trophy sized striper, crappy, smallmouth bass, and much more.

5. Monongahela River

The Monongahela River is considered one of the "Big Three" Rivers in Pennsylvania. The river is located in the south western part of the state and flows nearly 128 miles. Until this most recent decade, the "Mon" was no where near the tops of fishing in PA. In fact, many believed that the great fishing had faded away completely.

Over the next few years, the "Mon" improved greatly because of treatment facility upgrades. Now, the Monongahela ranks as one of the best Sauger fishing areas in the entire state. With the improvements of the "Mon" over the years, it is now known for it's smallmouth bass, pike, walleye, and much more.

4. Kinzua Dam

The Kinzua Dam is located in Warren County, Pennsylvania and ranks among one of the largest Dams in the entire United States. The dam was opened in 1965, and has been heavily fished ever since.

For many who don't know, the word Kinzua actually means fish. When many say the Kinzua is loaded with fish, that is not an understatement. The Dam is filled with mass amounts of trout consisting of rainbow, brown, brook, tiger, palomino, and hybrid. Not only is the Kinzua known for it's trout fishing, but its exceptional musky, northern pike, and walleye.

3. Lake Raystown

Raystown was voted the second-ranked Lake for fishing throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. The Lake is located in Entriken, right outside the central part of the state. Raystown Lake is accompanied by a numerous amount of guide services, tackle recommendations, and tournaments. It's also filled a massive amount of trophy fish.

The Lake is filled enormous catfish andcarp, along with several different types of bass such as striped, rock, small and largemouth. Raystown is also known for its great trout fishing with a number of rainbow, brown and lake trout. Atlantic salmon, crappy, bluegill, panfish, yellow and white perch, andsmelt can also be found in Raystown Lake.

2. Susquehanna River

Arguably the top fishing location in the entire state of Pennsylvania, the Susquehanna flows approximately 444 miles long running through the states of PA, Maryland, and New York. The Susquehanna is the largest river on the East Coast, and ranks as the 16th largest in the entire United States. The Susquehanna is connected to many well-known bodies of water such as the Chesapeake Lake Bay, Otsego Lake, and the Wiconisco Creek (No. 10).

The Susquehanna River can be fished at it's best through private tour guides. Two of the best tour guides in the state consist of Tony and Anthony Sissero. The Susquehanna is well-known for it's large mass of smallmouthbass. The 'Hanna is also filled with a great deal of walleye, catfish, and smaller panfish. Other fish consisting of musky, northern pike, pickerel, American shad, and much more are found within the bases of the river. Due to the smooth flowing water of the Susquehanna and it's large population of fish, the Susquehanna ranks among the top of rivers in PA.

1. Lake Erie

As you may have assumed, Lake Erie ranks at the top of the charts for the best fishing location in Pennsylvania. Being one of the five Great Lakes, it is obvious why Erie has earned this honor.

Lake Erie is connected to Detroit and Niagara Rivers. The Lake itself is over 220 miles long, one of the largest lakes in the United States. As for fishing, Erie is one of the largest freshwater fisheries in the United States as well. The Lake is swamped with walleye and yellow perch.

Lake Erie is highly targeted for it's great steelhead fishing as well. Lake Erie is also known for its well-rounded amount of salmon that surround the waters of Erie and it's consistent fishing of smallmouth bass. The number of fish species in the waters of Lake Erie are countless and that's why Erie is considered the fishing capitol of Pennsylvania.

A Tribute to a Man Who Played the Game the Right Way: Ken Griffey Jr.

Throughout this most recent decade the game of baseball has been all but ruined.

Since the Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa home run chase, the game of baseball has took a left turn and hasn't slowed down since.

In fact, many have completely lost their love for the game because of one word.

This one word has changed not only baseball, but the entire sports world.

Steroids.

A word that has torn apart the meaning of baseball, and has caused many to forget those who came before us who did it the right way.

Roger Marris, Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, the list goes on and on.

Now when I make a list of the best players in last decade my list consists of Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemens, and many more.

The majority of my list consists of cheaters.

Ones who needed an edge.

Ones who would take an extra five million dollars over their livelihood.

This article is a tribute to an athlete "who would prefer to even to fail with honor than to win by cheating"—Sophocles

Enter Ken Griffey Jr.

Son of the great Ken Griffey Sr, young Griffey was put under the spot light since the day he tried on his first glove.

Being the son of a professional athlete isn't all it's cut out to be.

Just ask Ken Griffey Jr.

At the age of 18, Junior tried ending his life, swallowing over 200 pills of aspirin.

Yes over 200.

The pressure seemed to be too much, but his attempt failed as he lives to speaks about it.

"It seemed like everyone was yelling at me in baseball, then I came home and everyone was yelling at me there," "I got depressed, I got angry, I didn't want to live."

If Ken Griffey Jr had not made it past that day in 1988 we would be missing one of the greatest baseball players ever.

No, that is not an understatement.

After being drafted first overall in the 1987 draft, Griffey Jr had a stellar beginning to his career, posting a batting average of over .300 in five out of his first six MLB seasons.

In 1993 he posted 45 home runs, and in 1994 he jacked 40.

In 1995, due to a number of injuries, Griffey Jr found himself on the outside looking in.

He went on to only play in 72 games that season.

Following a disappointing season, Griffey Jr went on to post four of his best seasons, which were later found to be his last four seasons in Seattle.

Griffey Jr posted 48-plus home runs in his final four seasons in Seattle, including a career-high 56 in 1997 and 1998.

Griffey also knocked in over 130 runs in all four seasons and a career-high 147 RBI in 1997.

In 2000, Griffey was traded to Cincinnati where his career began heading downhill.

Since leaving Seattle, Griffey Jr has never been himself. Injuries have caused this all-time great to be sidelined unwillingly.

Despite a numerous amount of injuries, Griffey continues to play the game he loves the right way.

Steroid free

No one knows how much time Ken Griffey Jr has left.

But I do know this, he's saved the game. He's one of the best ever and that's unarguable.

Here's a tribute to a future Hall-of-Famer, Ken Griffey Jr.

Six NFL Teams That Will Rebound in 2009

The 2008 season was a disappointment for many NFL fans. For some, the aches and pains will continue for years to come, but for others, things are about to change.

In this most recent postseason, only five teams returned in hopes of a Super Bowl title—none of which included 2007's 16-0 New England Patriots or the NFC runner-up Green Bay Packers.

Here are six teams that will bounce back from devastating failure to playoff seasons.

Chicago Bears

Although Chicago showed its inconsistency in 2008, you have to be impressed with the play of first year starting quarterback Kyle Orton, throwing for nearly 3,000 yards and 18 scores to only 12 interceptions.

The uproar of rookie running back Matt Forte has heads turning in every direction. In just his first season in Chicago, Forte rushed for 1,238 yards and eight touchdowns. Not only was Forte effective on the ground, but he also grabbed 63 receptions for 477 yards and four more scores.

It's clear that Chicago's defense was not the same as previous years. Chicago failed to make the top 12 in total defense, passing, and rushing (ypg) in 2008. The Bears must utilize their draft position and improve their defense for the upcoming season.

Chicago’s defense is not the only thing that needs improvement. In 2006 Devin Hester had five return touchdowns, and in 2007 he had six. Hester returned neither a kick nor a punt return for a score in 2008. Special teams have been a huge reason why the Bears have seen success in the past.

If Chicago can learn to trust Kyle Orton as their quarterback, and continue to hand the ball off to Matt Forte, look for Chicago to get back in the playoff mix when 2009 rolls around.

Green Bay Packers

No, the Packers don't need Brett Favre to be successful. They need a defense, and they need it now. How many coaches did the Packers fire this offseason? One? Keep guessing—how about six, which includes defensive coordinator Bob Sanders.

The Packers' 6-10 record is the worst since 1991, excluding their 4-12 season in 2005.

The Packers also struggled with injuries this past season, which included their leading tackler for the past five seasons, Nick Barnett. Four of Green Bay's six wins came when Barnett was on the field. Since he's been in the league, he's gone over 100 tackles every year. This season he accumulated only 49 stops. The Packers need him to be successful.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers exceeded all expectations in his first season as a starter, as he ranked fourth in yards passing with 4,038 and passing with touchdowns with 28. Rodgers only threw 13 interceptions and started all 16 games in 2008.

If the Packers want to make it back to the postseason, they need to improve their defensive status. They need to get their “hard-nosed” attitude back and play like the Green Bay Packers we once knew. If Ryan Grant and Greg Jennings continue to make plays for Rodgers, there’s should be no reason why you don’t see Green Bay in the playoffs next season.

New England Patriots

Does anyone honestly think the New England Patriots will fail to make the playoffs for two consecutive seasons? No, I don’t either.

Despite an 11-5 record in 2008, somehow, some way, the Patriots found a way to miss the postseason for the first time since 2002. Let’s give them a break though; four of their five losses came to playoff teams, one being the Super Bowl champions in the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Who was the other team that made the Super Bowl this past season? Was it the Arizona Cardinals? Yes, the Patriots lit them up in a 47-7 win in week 15.

The New England Patriots were also missing Tom Brady, the NFL’s best quarterback, who suffered a knee injury in week one of the regular season. With Brady returning, who is going to stop the New England Patriots?

Wide receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker aren’t a defense’s best friend either. Since Moss has been in Foxboro he’s totaled over 2,500 yards and 34 touchdowns in just two seasons. Welker hasn’t been much different, as he’s tallied over 2,300 yards and 11 scores. Welker also has grabbed 223 balls in just two seasons in New England.

If the New England defense can keep teams under four touchdowns a game, there is no reason why you won’t see the “dynasty” back in the playoffs competing for their fourth title in the last nine seasons.

Houston Texans

Yes! This is finally the year the Houston Texans make it out of the regular season. In 2008, the Texans put up their highest win total since entering the league in 2002. Six of the Texans' eight losses in 2008 came from playoff teams.

If the Texans want to make their first ever postseason appearance, the defense needs to improve—a lot! Even when Houston won, they still managed to give up three-plus plus touchdowns. Only on four different occasions did the Texans hold the opposing team below 21 points.

Young talent such as Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans will continue to improve, but if the Texans do in fact want to make a run towards playoffs, the improvement needs to come in the secondary. The Texans intercepted just 12 passes all season, four of them coming from CB Jacques Reeves.

It’s clear that the Texans have no problem scoring, as they averaged nearly 23 points per game in 2008. The Texans also ranked third in the entire NFL in offensive yards per game with 382.1

It doesn’t matter who’s the quarterback for this team—just continue to throw the ball up to Andre Johnson, who posted over 1,500 yards receiving and 115 receptions. If that doesn’t work, hand the ball off to Steve Slaton, who bulleted for a Houston-best 1,659 total yards and 10 touchdowns.

See you in January, Houston.

Dallas Cowboys

I think it’s fair to say the Dallas Cowboys were the biggest disappointment in the entire NFL in 2008. With two games remaining in the season, Dallas was in complete control of their destiny. They then lost to Baltimore in a 33-24 final. Approaching the final game of the season at Philadelphia, it was win or go home.

Dallas was defeated 44-6 and went home. The Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game since 1996, when they beat Minnesota in a wild card game at Texas Stadium.

For Dallas fans, the past is history. Dallas’s defense was not the problem in 2008, as they were ranked eighth in total yards, fifth in passing, and 12th in rushing.

Dallas accumulated 59 sacks throughout 2008, 20 of which came directly from linebacker DeMarcus Ware. Dallas also received eight sacks apiece from Bradie James, Jay Ratliff, and Greg Ellis.

An injured Marion Barber didn’t help Dallas’s chance in pursuing the postseason; for the fourth year in a row Barber failed to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark. Dallas ranked 21st in rushing yards per game in 2008. It is clear the Cowboys need to improve up front.

Dallas does not have a starting lineman under the age of 30. It’s time for young legs, and it’s for time for them now. If Dallas wants to return to the playoff picture, they need to make changes, starting with the offensive line.

The weapons are there. Tony Romo will continue to throw touchdowns to Terrell Owens and Jason Witten. Barber will continue to bulldoze, and the Dallas defense will be all over the field as usual.

Dropping Adam Jones (I call him by his correct name) was the best thing Dallas did in a while. If they keep their issues in the locker room and play as a team, look out for Dallas come 2009.

New Orleans Saints

Before you tell me that the Saints play in one of the best divisions in the NFL, I already know. The worst record in the NFC South was 8-8, which was indeed the New Orleans Saints. The division is so equally spread out it’s almost hard to comprehend. It’s a constant battle every time one of these four teams plays each other.

The Saints obviously have the edge in the offensive category. In 2008 the Saints ranked first in the NFL in points, total yards, and passing yards per game. No one in the entire league can slow Drew Brees down, as he threw for over 5,000 yards and 34 touchdowns in 2008.

Seven different Saint receivers caught 30-plus balls or more. Zero Saint receivers went over the 1,000-yard mark. Sounds like a pretty balanced passing attack.

With Deuce McAllister aging rapidly, the Saints have to turn to all-purpose Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas. If Bush can be consistent and stay healthy, the Saints will have absolutely no problem putting points on the board through the '09 season.

The big question is New Orleans' defense. In 2008 the Saints had one of the worst defenses, ranking 23rd or higher in almost every category.

The addition of John Vilma helped a little, but the Saints need help in secondary. The Saints need to sign a playmaking safety this offseason. Throughout 2008, New Orleans' three safeties combined for three interceptions, zero forced fumbles, and zero sacks. Philadelphia’s Brian Dawkins would be a great addition to the Saints' less than mediocre secondary.

If New Orleans can find a way to stop the passing game and still manage to put up like numbers on offense, you will see the Saints back competing as they did in 2006.

Dear Philadelphia Eagles: Please Sign Anquan Boldin or T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Anquan Boldin is a six-year NFL veteran that helped the Arizona Cardinals go all the way to Tampa, FL for the Super Bowl. Not many people believed the Cardinals would make it, but they did, eventually losing a heart-breaker to Pittsburgh.

Boldin has two years remaining on his contract, but reports say his chances of returning to Arizona are very slim. The "mouth battle" between Boldin and Todd Haley on the sidelines during the NFC Championship game was widely publicized and the apparently strained relationship is a big part of why people feel he will play elsewhere this coming season.

I realize that was unclassy and, quite frankly, the wrong time to call out his offense coordinator. I also am aware he left the locker room without celebrating with his team.

But he is no Terrell Owens.

This guy hasn't stuck out like a sore thumb like many other receivers in the National Football League. At least the guy doesn't celebrate every time he scores (which is a lot) and then get in front of the microphone and make an even bigger mess of his problem.

In four of six seasons, Boldin has gone over 1,000 yards. He's caught over 100 balls in two of those seasons. Boldin posted 1,038 yards along with 89 catches and 11 touchdowns this season.

Oh, I almost forgot, he did that in just 12 games!

Boldin isn't the only one I'd like to see in Philly.

Does the name T.J. Houshmandzadeh ring a bell?

Houshmandzadeh is a eight-year NFL veteran that was just recently apart of one of the worst teams in Cincinnati Bengal history. That didn't stop the guy from being one of the best receivers in the league.

In the last five seasons, Houshmandzadeh has gone over the 1,000 yard mark twice. What about those other three seasons you may ask? How about over 900 yards in every one of them.

The guy is a great receiver. Much like Boldin, he has never had the opportunity to show what he can do as a No. 1 receiver. If he comes to Philly, he certainly will.

Houshmandzadeh is far from the laughingstock receivers in Cincinnati, such as Chad Johnson (is that his name now?), or Chris "I've been arrested ten times" Henry.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the Philadelphia Eagles need a big-time receiver to compete for the Super Bowl in the 2009 season.

Yes, I love the young and quick DeSean Jackson but I'm sorry, he's not a No. 1 receiver.

Do you expect Kevin Curtis to take us there? How about Hank Baskett or Jason Avant? Greg Lewis?...No Thank you!

When's the last time the Philadelphia Eagles had a big-time receiver?

2005.

No, I'm not saying I want Terrell Owens to return to Philly. Of course not, he ruined our franchise . . . but he was good.

What I'm getting at is Anquan Boldin is good, really good. T.J. Houshmandzadeh is good, really good. I want one of them in Philly. They will finally be the go-to guy. No longer will they take a back seat behind the two of the NFL's best receivers.

These guys are great receivers, and for Philly to make it all the way in 2009, they need to sign one of these guys.

Sounds like a match made from heaven to me. It's up to Philly now.

Philadelphia Eagles Fan or Not, Let's Start Praying

Today I received a text message from one of my friends, Bryn Swartz.

It said this..

"ESPN NFL- Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson has melanoma skin cancer that has metastasized to his spine."

I replied with, "It's time to start praying."

Jim Johnson, the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive coordinator, arguably the best in the entire National Football League at his job, found out he has had a recurrence of cancer. This time, it's a lot more serious.

Johnson, 69 years of age, has been diagosed with melanoma skin cancer. According to reports, it has spread to his spine and a tumor has formed in his back.

Right now, I am absolutely heartbroken.

It doesn't even matter that he's a Philadelphia Eagle right now. Nothing matters right now, except his future.

Johnson, who is currently going through radiation, has spent 23 years in the NFL.

Johnson started his career in Arizona, where he spent eight seasons as the defensive line and secondary coach. He then spent four years in Indianapolis as the defensive coordinator.

Following one season in Seattle, Johnson became Philadelphia's defensive coordinator, where he still resides today.

Since Johnson has been in Philly, the Eagles have recorded the third best record in the NFL. He has produced 25 Pro Bowl players on defense, and remains as one of the most respected men ever to step foot on the sidelines.

Jim Johnson, a coach that is respected fully throughout the NFL, a coach that genuinely cares about his players, is a coach that I have the utmost respect for.

No one knows Johnson's future as a coach or a man, but I do know one thing.

I'll be praying. I'll be praying really hard for him.

As fans of the National Football League, we need to come together as one.

Right now, it doesn't matter if you're an Eagles or Cowboys fan. It doesn't matter if you're a Steelers or Cardinals fan.

All that matters is this guy's future.

I'll be praying. I hope you do the same.

You Want To Hear a Funny Joke? Stephon Marbury

I'm really not a huge NBA fan at all. I watch it occasionally when Kobe or the Celtics are playing, but that's about it.

I hardly ever find the time to write about the NBA.

But I have time for this article.

Stephon Marbury.

A man who has done more than just ruin his reputation as a player. In fact, I don't even look at the man as a player anymore.

Wait. Did I refer to Stephon Marbury as a man? I apologize. I really didn't try to do that.

Marbury has posted 20.0 points per game in eight of his 12 seasons in the NBA. He's also dished out 7.0-plus assists per game in a season on 10 different occasions.

He was the fourth overall pick in the '96 draft. He was drafted before Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Jermaine O' Neal, and Ray Allen. He's a two-time NBA All-Star.

He's also a joke, getting paid $21 million to sit on the sidelines and watch.

He is the biggest disgrace to a sport I've ever seen. He has ruined the New York Knicks and, more importantly (since it's always about him), he has ruined his own reputation forever.

To quote another article, he is the "highest-paid towel boy in sports history." He is just another example of a spoiled athlete who doesn't care about the integrity of the game.

He obviously doesn't want to play the game he once loved, and even if says he does, he's lying. He has made it clear he doesn't.

Ever hear of the Greek team Olympiacos? Neither have I. And guess what? They don't want him, either.

He's acted like a kid, so I'm going to refer to him as one.

When Marbury gets his passion back and shows a little enthusiasm, I'll lay off. Until then, he will go down in my book as perhaps the biggest disgrace to ever play the game.

NFL's Tarnished Players Have Caused Many To Go Unnoticed

This article isn't written about anyone specific. It's about those who fly under the radar. It's about those who don't care about the fame, and don't need to be recognized because of their accomplishments.

I searched the words "class act" and he's what I found..

A classy, distinguished, conspicuously refined person, whether because of talent or demeanor, or some other notable characteristic.

Now I ask you, when you think of class act within the National Football League, who do you think of?

The list is limited isn't it? I think so.

It seems to me the National Football League isn't even the National Football League anymore. It's a celebrity show. It's all about the money, the fame.

I'm certainly not saying everyone in the NFL is unclassy. Because a lot of guys aren't. But then again, how many aren't? Think about that.

So often I sit down at night to watch ESPN and what do I see?

T.O's latest celebration dance. Pacman Jone's 52nd arrest. Hey, someone new failed a drug test.

It's ridiculous.

Someone shot them self in the foot. Is this league turning into a joke? Players need to carry weapons to protect themselves?

It's gotten way too out of hand, to the point where I felt I needed to write this article.

How many times do you turn on the TV and see another person tarnishing our National Football League?

Every day.

How many times do hear people talk about the "Class act" of the NFL? Never.

So often players around the league go unrecognized because they don't celebrate when they score touchdowns. Players don't get the publicity because they don't fail drug tests. If you're a guy with character you will fly under the radar for a long time.

It's sad, but it's the truth.

So it's time to recognize those who don't need the fame, they just love the game.

When I think of the words "class act", I think of someone who's a team player. Someone who plays the game right. Someone who doesn't need to holdout because they didn't get that extra 10 million dollars.

When I think of the word "class act", I think of guys like Peyton Manning and Larry Fitzgerald. I think of guys like Brian Dawkins and Fred Taylor and Warrick Dunn. I think of offensive and defensive lineman who don't get credit. Coaches like Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith. The list goes on and on..

I don't know of every player, but I do know one thing. I don't have time for the Terrell Owenses of the world. I'm tired of seeing Pacman Jones. I don't want to hear about Chad Johnson's name change.

This league is filled with criminals, murders, and thieves. But it’s also filled with classy individuals who don't speak out because they have more respect for the game.

This is a tribute to the guys who play the game right. This is a tribute to the real football players in the National Football League.

You might not be recognized with the fame and publicity, but you're recognized by us. Us--those who care about the reputation of the game.

Continue to set an example for all of us and maybe someday the world will recognize what a true football player is.

Thank you to those who do it right.

Why No One Deserves a Super Bowl Ring More Than Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald.

As an Eagles' fan, this guy broke my heart last week.

So you ask, why am I writing an article about him? Good question.

I like him. He actually reminds me of a football player. He's classy in every category that you can think of—he's humble and the best NFL receiver.

Fitzgerald reminds me of Hines Ward—except he's better.

He's played in the NFL for only five years. He's gone over 1,400 yards in three of those five years. He's caught 100+ balls in two different seasons—catching 96 this season.

This postseason, Fitzgerald has helped the sleeper Arizona Cardinals make it all the way to the Super Bowl. In the process, he has gone over 100 yards in all three playoff games.

Look at these stats:

ATL: 6 receptions, 101 yards, and 1 TD
CAR: 8 receptions, 166 yards, and 1 TD
PHI: 9 receptions, 152 yards, and 3 TDs

I'm speechless.

I thought the guy was an amazing college player, but he's an even better NFL player.

Fitzgerald plays with so much emotion and pride. How can you not like him? He never speaks out, never complains, and is a role model for everyone.

Whether or not he lit up my Eagles is not a factor, Fitzgerald deserves more credit than anyone.

He's only 25 years old. I can't imagine what he has in store for us in the next couple of years. I'm already afraid. I hope the Eagles don't have to play the Cardinals ever again.

Worst Super Bowl team or not, Fitzgerald has taken this team to the top. He's opened up the field for Boldin and Breaston—both went over 1,000 yards.

Come Feb. 1, I'll be rooting for the Cardinals.

Do I think they'll win? No, I don't. But I didn't think they'd beat the Atlanta Falcons either or the Carolina Panthers. And, I definitely didn't think they'd beat my Philadelphia Eagles.

If anyone deserves a Super Bowl ring, it's this guy right here...Larry Fitzgerald.

Why the Chargers Should Keep LaDainian Tomlinson in San Diego

I'm sure by now you've heard the rumors involving San Diego and their All-Pro Running Back, LaDainian Tomlinson.

Could it be that Tomlinson, a for-sure future Hall of Famer, could be leaving his eight-year home in San Diego?

To be honest, I have no clue.

I have no clue what the Chargers are thinking. I have no clue what anyone in that organization is thinking. I can't even picture LT in a different uniform. Can you?

Tomlinson gained a career low in rushing this season with 1,110 yards. He also ran for his second fewest amount of touchdowns since he's arrived in San Diego.

Is it that LaDainian Tomlinson is aging too quickly, or the number of injuries are taking a toll on the 29-year-old's body?

Let me say this. This guy is not washed up. Not even close.

Did anyone take into consideration that LT has rushed 292 times this season? That's a career low. The Chargers are also not establishing a passing game in LT's favor like they have in the past. Tomlinson brought in 52 receptions this season, which ranked second lowest in his career.

I admit, the guy is dealing with injuries. But who hasn't?

Anyone else who runs for 1,110 yards and 11 touchdowns is a big deal. But not LT.

Everyone expects more from him because he is, in fact, LaDainian Tomlinson.

The guy has never had a season less than 1,100 yards. He's scored double-digit touchdowns every year of his career. He has never caught less than 51 catches in a season, either.

Tomlinson has ran for over 1,400 yards in five of his eight seasons. Sounds pretty good to me.

So injuries have slowed down Tomlinson a little. But doesn't the decrease in LT's yards have something to do with the defenses he plays against? A team doesn't prepare for the San Diego Chargers, they prepare for LaDainian Tomlinson.

He is the reason Philip Rivers is excelling at the quarterback position. He is the reason Vincent Jackson went over 1,000 yards receiving this year.

Take Tomlinson out of the offense and see how well Rivers does. See how many yards Vincent Jackson puts up. See how many wins the Chargers get.

Chargers Replacement: Darren Sproles

Sproles reminds me more of a returner or a receiver than an NFL starting running back.

Granted, Sproles had a stellar game against Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the playoffs. But what did Sproles do in the following game? He ran the ball 11 times for 15 yards.

He is not NFL running back material whatsoever.

I don't know if Tomlinson will actually depart from San Diego following the season, but I do know one thing.

San Diego, if you do let him go, you might be letting go of the best running back ever to play the game.

Be smart. Keep LT.

Pennsylvania Turnpike: A.K.A. Super Bowl XLIII

Could the Philadelphia Eagles and the Pittsburgh Steelers meet in Super Bowl XLlll to become the third duo ever to meet in a Super Bowl from the same state?

No doubt about it.

In fact, I think it will happen.

Now, I'm definitely not counting out the Baltimore Ravens. That defense is like no other I've seen. Wow. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, you name it.

My question is Joe Flacco. I know he just became the first rookie quarterback to win his first two playoff games. But it's not too hard to win a game when your defense only gives up nine and 10 points in the previous two games, respectively.

Flacco has only completed 20 passes in his first two postseason starts and is completing under 45 percent of his passes.

Let's not forget that the Ravens were already defeated twice by the Steel City earlier this season.

Trust me, I have nothing against the Ravens. They whipped my Eagles 36-7 this season. I don't want to play them at all.

But the Steelers are going to put up points, and if the Ravens can't match them then the Steelers will be heading to Tampa in search of their sixth Super Bowl ring.

I'm also not counting out the Arizona Cardinals.

Laugh if you want—I don't care.

Do I think they will beat the Philadelphia Eagles?

No, of course not.

Did you think they would beat the Atlanta Falcons or the Carolina Panthers?

No, of course not.

The Cardinals' defense is stopping the run better than anyone this postseason, and with Larry Fitzgerald running down the field they have to be considered a contender.

But I'm confident in my Eagles, and I believe we'll be moving on to defend our Pennsylvania pride down in Florida.

I would love nothing more than to have a hard-nosed Pennsylvania football game.

The 'Pikes of PA are gonna be busy come Feb. 1.

Mr. Overrated: Go Favre, Farve Away

Sick of hearing about Brett Favre? Me too.

I can't take it anymore. I can't take hearing the two words, "Brett Favre". I want to hurl. Seriously.

Yes, I realize I'm going to be torn to pieces by all the Brett Favre lovers, but I don't care.

He needs to hang it up. Not in a couple weeks or next year, he needs to do it now.

Favre is the most overrated athlete in sports history. Yes, I said it. Yes, he has one Super Bowl ring and three NFL MVPs. That's great. I'll give him that, but that's all I'm giving him.

The guy is not only overrated to the max, but he reminds me of my high school years. He's a drama queen.

When Brett Favre announced his retirement last year I was the happiest guy in the world. I no longer had to hear those two words ever again.

Then he came back.

I was thrilled to hear that his home for 16 years, the Green Bay Packers, no longer wanted him. I now love the Green Bay Packers. Why would they take him back? He retired. They had a young quarterback drafted in the first round in Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers already has proved himself in one season, throwing 28 touchdowns to only 13 interceptions. He also finished ranked fourth in the NFL in passing with 4,038 yards.

On the other hand, Favre threw 22 touchdowns to as many interceptions. 22 interceptions? Favre led the league in the category, the closest to him being Jay Cutler at 18. On three different occasions in his career, Favre has tossed more interceptions than touchdowns in a single season. Twice he equaled his interceptions to his touchdowns in a season.

Favre has posted similar statistics in interceptions several times throughout his career. In 1993 he threw 24 passes to the other team, 23 in 1998 and '99, 21 in 2003, and a career high 29 in 2005. He led the league then in picks then, too.

20+ interceptions in a season is just unacceptable. Favre's done it six different times. He is the only player ever to throw 300 interceptions. He averages 18 interceptions every season. And let's not forget he's fumbled 157 times. The guy is a turnover machine.

You might make the argument that he is a winner. You're right, he is. Favre has posted 13 winning seasons. But he has only one ring to show for it.

He has tons and tons of records. Most passing touchdowns, passing yards, completions and attempts.

He also holds the most interceptions ever, most career games with at least three interceptions (that's shocking), most postseason interceptions, and most career playoff losses as a quarterback.

A quarterback rating of 81.0 this season ranked Favre 18th among all starting quarterbacks. He also has a lifetime rating of 85.4. Not impressive.

Besides the fact that Brett Favre turned the ball over more than anyone ever in the history of football, there had to be a reason why the Green Bay Packers didn't welcome him back.

Was it because he's too old? The Packers wanted a new start? I believe it's because he's not a team player.

I'm starting to think I'm not the only one tired of Brett Favre. Thomas Jones jumped aboard.

In a press conference earlier this week Jones expressed his anger with Favre's play by saying, "The reality is, you throw interceptions, I'm (ticked) off, I don't like it. You know what I'm saying? I don't like it, I know everybody else on the team doesn't like it."

I'd be ticked too.

Farve's unacceptable play and self-centered attitude has possibly led to the end of his career. Teammate Kerry Rhodes was asked if he would like Favre to return.

"If he's dedicated and he wants to come back and do this, and do it the right way," Rhodes said about Favre's possible return. "And be here when we're here in training camp and the mini camps and working out with us...then I'm fine with it. But don't come back if it's going to be half-hearted or he doesn't want to put the time in with us."

In a nice way Rhodes is basically stating that Favre isn't a team player and wants to do things his own way. Rhodes should have just come out and said "No, I don't like the guy." I would have.

An anonymous Jets player came out and said that he felt that Favre was distant from the rest of the team, and spent most of his time alone. Doesn't sound like a team player to me.

Favre actually said it the best.

"I'm an emotional guy, and I'm sure people are tired of seeing me get emotional. People would probably say, 'Oh, here he goes again.'"

Actually, yes, you're exactly right. That's what we are all thinking.

Brett Favre, please hang it up. You're the most overrated player ever to step on the football field. Your legacy is getting worse every day. Go far, far away.

Eagles Fans, Get Ready For A "Giant" Upset

The roller coaster ride continues.

From a 2-3 start in which all three losses were by a total of 14 points to a 3-0 stretch, the Philadelphia Eagles have been on a roller coaster ride I'll never forget.

Following their three straight wins, the Eagles hit another bump in the road, going 0-2-1. Losing to their division rival, the New York Giants, tying with one of the worst teams in the National Football League, the Cincinnati Bengals, and getting smoked by the Baltimore Ravens. Wow.

McNabb benched.

I'd like to believe the benching of our quarterback benefited us in the highest way. Following the pine riding of McNabb, the Eagles won four out of their last five games, including wins over the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, and Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles had little hope heading into their final regular season game with Dallas.

We needed:

The Houston Texans to win: They did.
The Oakland Raiders to win: They did.
A win over the Dallas Cowboys: We did.

Somehow...some way, the Philadelphia Eagles' ride landed in the final wild card spot. But has the roller coaster ride come to an end?

Not even close.

I'm still shocked. We had every opportunity in the world to clinch the playoffs throughout the year, and we didn't.

We waited 'til the last game of the regular season to punch our ticket. Well, guess what—we did it. We pounded the Cowboys 44-6. Yes, I repeat: 44-6.

A trip to Minnesota was our only guarantee.

The Eagles defense dominated the game with a 26-14 outcome.

I'm still in shock we're here. I can't believe it. We shouldn't be, but somehow we are.

The Eagles head once again to New York to take on our division rival, the New York Giants. I've never been more confident in us like I am now. I don't know why, but I am. We are going to beat New York. We are going to the NFC Championship game, and we're going to win that too. I guarantee it.

I'd go as far as saying I believe the Eagles are honestly going to be crowned the 2009 Super Bowl Champs. Somehow this roller coaster ride will lead to fate. It has to.

I love our chances. No Tom Brady and the Patriots. No Peyton Manning and the Colts. We are going to win it all.

Is this our year? I think so.

Greatest Rivalry: Tobacco Road or Yanks/Soxs?

North Carolina Tarheels vs. Duke Blue Devils

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees

UNARGUABLY the two greatest rivals in sports history
Do not argue that statement.

For those of you who just opened a new Internet Explorer and searched "google" for "the greatest rivalries ever," you won't find anything else. I promise you. This is as good as it gets.

There is nothing greater than kickin' back on the couch and watchin either two of these great teams battle it out

But, which rivalry is greater?

These rivalries have been going on for longer than I can remember. I think its safe to say that each of these rivalries absolutely hate eachother. When I say hate, I'm being nice.

North Carolina vs. Duke

Personally, I believe this rivalry lit up in 1968 when Duke prevailed over Carolina in a triple overtime thriller, 87-86.

How about 1974. Carolina trailing by 8 points with a lone 17 ticks remaining in the game. Someone once said, "It's not over til it's over." Walter Davis of Carolina banked in a 30 foot shot as time expired to send the game into overtime. Carolina took the edge in the end, 96-92.

In 1979, North Carolina was shut-out in the first half. Yes, I said it. They didn't score a point! In fact, they only took two shots in the first half, both being Airrrr ballssss. Duke went onto to win, 47-40.

Michael Jordan's final game at North Carolina was one to remember. Would you think it wouldn't be? Carolina won by a 13 point margin only by fighting off Duke in two overtimes.

I could go on and on and on about this rivalry. I won't. Not at least til I cover one more game.

March 4th, 2007...aka "The Flying Elbow"

One of the dirtiest plays I've ever seen in a sporting even. Duke guard, Gerald Henderson went airborne with a flying elbow right to the center of Tyler Hansbrough's face. Was it dirty? I think so. I honestly thought I was watching WWE for a second. I could see it happening earlier in the game unintentionally, but the game was clearly iced with only 14 ticks left when Henderson jumped off the top ropes.

Hansbrough fell to the ground while blood flew everywhere. Henderson was ejected, and the rivalry just ignited. One of the greatest games I've ever seen. Hands down. Carolina went onto win 86-72.

Next...

Yankees vs. Red Sox

This rivalry dates back to over 100 years ago. Similar to the North Carolina-Duke Rivalry, there are some memories that will never be forgotten.

In 1920, The Redsoxs possibly made the biggest mistake in baseball history. Trading Babe Ruth. Yes Babe Ruth. America's greatest pastime. 714 career homeruns. Not only did he dominate as a hitter, but he posted two 20+ wins seasons as a pitcher.

In 1978, who would have thought these two powerhouses would have ended up tied for the division lead 162 games later. The Redsoxs led the division by 14 games at one point, only to blow a one game playoff to the Yankees

The Yankees and Redsoxs have only met on three occasions during the post-season in the last ten years. In 1999 the Yankees dominated the series in a 4-1 deficit.

The 2003 ALCS Game Seven was a night i'll never forget. Extending the game into the 11th inning, Aaron Boone stepped to the plate. On the very first pitch Boone sent a shot into left field that sent the Yankees onto the World Series

Just one year later the Yankees and Sox once again met in the ALCS. The Yankees dominated the first three games on the series, taking a 3-0 lead. The Soxs marched back with two straight extra inning wins, including a walk-off home run by David Ortiz. The Redsox's went onto win the final two games of the series, and eventually onto win the World Series.

As I stated above, I could go on and on about this rivalry, but I won't. If you don't think this rivalry is heated, then ask Alex Rodriguez or Jason Varitek. Once you ask them, then ask Don Zimmer. The guy is 77 years old and was tossed to the ground by Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez.

So I'm done.

There is no denying the greatness of either of these rivalries. Countless number of bench clearing brawls or dugout's clearing's. When either of these two meet, throw the records out the door. It doesn't matter. These two sets of teams truely represent the true meaning of the world "rivalry." Hatred.

So, which is greater?

Mr. Reggie Bush or Bust?

With one of greatest college careers of all time, Reggie Bush entered the NFL in 2006 with arguably the highest expectations ever for a player. Has Bush lived up to those expectations?

Not even close.

Piling up over 2,200 total yards and 18 touchdowns his senior year at powerhouse USC, Bush's name was too quickly thrown in with names such as LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook.

Bush went on to win the Heisman Trophy in honor of the greatest player in college football. He was a for-sure No. 1 overall pick to the Houston Texans, but that didn't happen either. Did the Texans see the light at the end of the tunnel?

In place of Bush, the Texans drafted defensive end Mario Williams from North Carolina State. At the time the Texans were absolutely ripped apart, chewed up, and spit out. Looking back on the decision, I'd like to think it was one of the best moves of all time.

Although you can't compare a running back to a defensive end, the numbers don't lie. The Texas also saved a load of money in the process. Williams has the edge in his early career while Bush continues to struggle from the college transition.

Quite frankly, I don't think Mr. Bush should be considered in the same sentence as fellow draft mates Maurice Jones Drew, Joseph Addai, or DeAngelo Williams. All were drafted after Bush, AND all have posted at least one 1,000-yard season. I'd even go as far to say LenDale White has proven himself more reliable.

I compare Reggie Bush to Leon Washington, who was also drafted in 2006 (fourth round)—a flashy, quick, and shifty running back, but never able to take on a lead role in an offense.

In Bush's defense, he has proven himself as an open field threat, and he does catch the ball well. Bush posted 88 catches his rookie season, but Bush's rushing touchdowns compared to that of his receiving touchdowns are almost similar since he's been in the NFL. That is a sign of a mediocre player.

This isn't college anymore, Reggie. You can no longer run sideline to sideline and expect to gain more than a yard. Since you've been in the NFL, you haven't posted over 600 yards rushing. You might be a good receiver or even a returner, but not a solid NFL running back.

With that being said—

Reggie Bush or Reggie Bust? You make the call.

Tim Tebow: A Step Out Of The Spotlight

Arguably the greatest player in college football history. The winner of the Maxwell Award, the Davey O'Brien Award, and the Heisman Trophy. An All-American, AP Player of the Year, SEC's Offensive Player of the Year, and the SEC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Meet Tim Tebow

In Tebow's first year as a starting quarterback, he broke the SEC's all-time record for both rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns accounted for in a single season. He became the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman Trophy and has potential to repeat.

This athlete possesses unimaginable talents that put him above all others. But what is so often unrevealed within this 21-year-old's life is the passion he carries on a daily basis.

Tebow isn't just an All-American football player at the University of Florida or the Heisman Trophy winner—he's more.

Tebow's passion and desire seen on the football field is incomparable and not seen by many. Born and raised in a Christian family, Tebow has a desire to be more than just a quarterback. "I want to be an example for everyone, not just football fans." Tebow is blessed beyond words—and he realizes it.

"God gave me this gift for a reason," Tebow says. "There's a sense of purpose in everything I do. It's not me in control; He is. There's a great amount of comfort knowing that."

Never in my life have I witnessed a man more mature not only as a football player, but as a Christian. Tim Tebow is truly an example for all us.

In the offseason, instead of preparing for the upcoming season, Tebow decided to pursue a different path: a mission's trip to his birthplace, the Philippines. Tebow communicated with heads of state, preached to prisoners, and, yes, circumcised young children. Please tell me how many college athletes with fame such as Tebow's would pursue such a mission?

Prior to the season Tim Tebow was nominated as a Preseason All-American by Playboy magazine. Tebow declined the offer because of his deep religious views. How many athletes have declined such an offer? I'd like to think none.

Tim Tebow is the Ultimate Christian Athlete in every aspect. Tebow is an example for all, including myself. If this guy never upholds a successful NFL career, I won't care. He has done more than enough to be considered one of my favorite players of all time, and that won't change.

Penn State: Why Not Us??

Let me begin by saying that the whole BCS disgusts me. It makes me sick to my stomach just hearing those three letters. Bowl Championship Series huh? I like to refer to it as Bull Crap Series. Its nonsense and it should be dismissed just like Andy Reid from the Eagle's coaching staff.

Now I'm not specifically saying Penn State should be in the Nation Title, but I am saying we have a valid case.

Currently my Nittany Lions are ranked 8th in the BCS Standings. Again, I hate even mentioning those three letters. So let me start with the teams ranked higher than us beginning with...

Texas Tech

So you beat Texas, congratulations. There's not doubting the explosive offense in Harrell and Crabtree, arguably two of the best players in the nation. But, not only did you lose to Oklahoma on the most watched game in college football history but you lost by 44 points. That means you lost by over 6 touchdowns! You got spanked in the biggest game of the year by 6+ touchdowns? No team that loses by 44 points should even be in the top 10.

Utah

I compare this team to last year's Hawaii. A joke. An absolute joke. All I heard last year was, "Why Not Hawaii". Well to start, how about you got pounded face first to the ground by Georgia 41-10!! Utah is no different. They will get torn apart by 30+ points against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. A team in such a conference should have no consideration for a BCS bid.

USC

Easy Killers. Finish reading my article before you pull the trigger on me. So often the BCS decides who will be ranked higher according to "who beat who". Well, the last time I checked the unstoppable Trojans got embarassed on live TV to Oregon State. Yes, Oregon State. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated, USC trailed 21-0 at one point. That is indeed the same team Penn State kicked to the curb by 31 points. Need I say more?

Alabama

I like this team, but I believe Penn State is better. I look at their win column-Impressive, then I look at their win margin—not impressive. Bama snuck one out against the powerhouse Tulane- I was being sarcastic for those of you who didn't catch my drift. A three-point win over the SEC's worst team in Kentucky, A 4 point nailbiter to Mississippi. Then you lose to Florida in the biggest game of your life. A win doesnt matter to the BCS, a dominating win does and I don't see it anywhere here.

Texas

This team is good. Real good. I think they got snubbed a nation title to be honest. They not only win, but they win big. They beat Oklahoma and they beat Oklahoma State. But...we forget one thing. You lost to Texas Tech. That is the same team that was ranked No. 2 in the nation and lost by 44 points! I can't get over that. How do you lose to a team that loses by 6+ touchdowns? Now your stuck playing Ohio State—Oh that's right, Penn State beat them too.

Oklahoma

Explosive, firing on all cylinders offensively. Destroyed the overrated Texas Tech by 44 points. But, I'm not completely sold on Oklahoma's Defense. They gave up 4+ touchdowns seven different times this year. And, When it comes down to it. You lost to Texas, who lost to Texas Tech. Remember the team you beat? Maybe you shouldn't have beaten Tech so bad after all??

Florida

This team reminds me exactly of Penn State. A hard-nose tough football team. Both one loss teams. Both teams lost by a lone one point. Both have dominated the majority of their opponents. So how can someone say Florida deserves a shot more than Penn State? You can't, but the BCS did. They somehow found a way to hose my team once again. The Nation Title should be- Penn State (11-1) vs. Florida (12-1). No questions asked.

Maybe I'm a bit bias towards my Nittany Lions. Maybe not. But either way I believe we deserve a shot at what the BCS refers to as "The National Championship". Similar to Florida, we lost to a team by one point who we would beat nine times out of 10. We have one of the best defenses in the entire country.

We beat 5 ranked teams, destroying most of them. So, I ask again..Why Not Us? Why not Penn State for the 2009 Nation Title?

The LeBron James Sweepstakes: Who Cares?

Let me begin by saying that I actually like LeBron James.

I like the way he carries himself and I like the way he plays. The guy is good! No. He's great! But is the whole "LeBron's landing in 2010" being blown out of proportion?

No doubt about it.

Again, I am taking absolutely nothing away from LeBron's great play. His rookie season James averaged nearly 21 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out six assists per game. Since then, James has posted a career high in PPG in '04-'05 with 31.4, and 30.0 just last season.

As of late, I can't even turn on the TV without hearing about where LeBron is heading in 2010. It makes me sick to browser to ESPN.com and read the front page, "Where Will He Land?"

Are you kidding me? Let me ask you again, Are you kidding me? Can someone please tell me the year?

Its 2008 for those of you who didn't know.

That means LeBron has to complete the remainder of this season, and all of next season before he can even opt out of his contract. Not only does this topic of discussion make my stomach want to hurl, but I have reason to believe LeBron likes all the attention.

As a team leader LeBron, you need to put this issue aside—at least for now. Your becoming a distraction not only to your team, but the entire NBA. The Cavaliers trip to Madison Square Garden last night wasn't even about the Cavs. It was about LeBron James. It was about his future in New York.

Never in my life have I heard an opposing team's fans go insane for an opposing team's player. Maybe a return of Michael Jordan to the Bulls, or Iverson to the 76ers, but not LeBron to a team hes never even played for. This is becoming ridiculous!

LeBron, All you had to do was get in front of the microphone and say, "I'm a Cleveland Cavalier and I will be until 2010."

No, instead you got in front of the media and said, ""I don't know. We'll do our best to win it this and next year. Like I said, July 1 is a big day. I know that. I can't sit here and say I don't know how big July 1 of 2010 is, it's going to be a big day, but for me to give to an answer of whether I'm staying or not, or where I'm going or playing, I don't know."

Can we please forget about July 1st, 2010? Please? At least until it gets here. LeBron can't even win a title with Cleveland, how do you expect the man to win a title with the NBA's worst basketball team? It won't happen and if it does it won't be happening until the year of 2010.

So once again, LeBron forget about the future because it is never guaranteed. You have almost two full seasons left in Cleveland to fulfil your chance at an NBA Championship.

Until you do that, enough about 2010.

Reid, McNabb: Head For The Hills

Let me begin by saying that I've been an Eagles fan since I was 12 years old, and never have I've been more disappointed, disgusted, and angry with a team's performance in my life than after watching the Eagles today.

If you haven't already heard, the Philadelphia Eagles were absolutely blown away by the Baltimore Ravens today by a 29-point deficit.

The Eagles managed just a hair over 200 total yards for the entire game, and the fault should lay completely in the hands of Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb.

In the last three outings, McNabb has accounted for a completion percentage of 47 percent and six interceptions, while only throwing four interceptions in the previous eight game.

Never in my life have I been so sick to my stomach after watching a performance such as today's. My thoughts are sorrows go out to Eagles fan across the nation. Not only did McNabb toss two interceptions today, he lost a fumble, was sacked twice, and over threw and under threw receivers on a constant basis the entire game!

So, you might have the argument that McNabb has been more than a blessing to the Eagles franchise over the past 10 years.

Wrong. Other than making one Super Bowl appearance, in which we lost, what has he done for us? In the NFL, it's not about the past, its what have you done for me lately, and to answer that question, Donovan, you haven't done anything!

Not only did you make a complete laughingstock out of yourself last week, stating you didn't know a game could end in a tie, but that fact that the team you tied with consisted of the one and only 1-9-1 Cincinnati Bengals, who remain dead last in the AFC North...Unacceptable.

To see you get benched today and roam the sidelines all by yourself made me realize how much of a disappointment you are to Eagles and the entire National Football League.

Now for Andy Reid who for the second straight year will fail to make the playoffs. Coming off a very disappointing 8-8 season, you thought Andy Reid might change his ways...Nope! Not a chance.

Right now, the Eagles hold a 5-5-1 record and are holding down 4th place in their division. I know the NFC East can be considered the toughest in the whole NFL, but enough with the excuses. I am fed up with McNabb, and I am fed up with Andy Reid

So often this year, I have watched my Eagles lose games due to poor play calling and today was no different. On several occasions today, I watched Andy Reid send in a play on 3rd-and-1. Pass...Pass...and Pass. Do we not have the biggest line in the entire NFL, can we not gain one yard on a running-back dive or a QB sneak?

No, instead, Reid decides to shock the world once again and throw it deep. Reid- you might think your surprising the defense by throwing on 3rd-and-1, but they aren't fooled at all. They've caught on to your foolish play calling.

If I was the Ravens' Defensive Coordinator, facing the Eagles on 3rd-and-1, I would call for a prevention defense, take everyone out of the box, and put five men in the secondary.

Despite trailing 22-7 at one point, the Eagles were certainly not out of it. In fact, the Eagles had their best drive of the game (with McNabb watching from the sidelines), and held the ball within the one-yard line.

On 2nd-and-goal from the half-yard line, Reid calls for a pass. Once again, I cannot believe it. The pass is intercepted by Ed Reed and returned 108 yards for the game clinching touchdown. Absolutely unreal. Once again, the Ravens recognized Reid's stupidity and knew they would not run the ball.

After losing three games in a row and more than likely missing out on the playoffs for the second year in a row, I make the case that McNabb and Reid must go immediately.
