The Knicks Have a Chance to Be Champs!

The New York Knicks acquired Forward Al Harrington from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Shooting Guard Jamal Crawford on Friday.

Later that day, the Knicks also sent Forward Zach Randolph and Point Guard Mardy Collins to the Los Angeles Clippers for Cuttino Mobley and former Knick, Tim Thomas.

This was clearly a move by the Knicks to compete for the barrel of superstars that will be available in 2009 including Carlos Boozer, Mehmet, Okur, and Kyle Korver who may all opt out of their contracts with the Utah Jazz, Ron Artest (I think), Rasheed Wallace, and Andre Miller.

Then, in 2010, the Knicks can choose from even more stars: Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Tyson Chandler, Manu Ginobili, Richard Jefferson, Joe Johnson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Steve Nash Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Redd, and most importantly, "King" LeBron James.

There are enough players available in the next two years for the Knicks to build an elite, championship team.

The Clippers and Warriors have a chance to make it to the playoffs this year, but they will never win a championship, especially with a player like Randolph, who is a complete drag on a team.

On the other hand, the Knicks have the opportunity to become the best team in the league by clearing up salary cap space to make way for some big contracts.

Imagine a team with Chris Duhon at point, Michael Redd at shooting guard, LeBron James at small forward, Chris Bosh at power forward, and Shaquille O'Neal at Center. A dream that is closer to reality than people imagine—I love it.

So Clippers and Warrior fans you can have the 08-09 season with (ha ha) Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph.

I have had to endure many seasons watching these losers play.
