UFC 98: What's Next??

After watching UFC 98 (which was surprisingly good), I sat back and thought. I always find myself thinking what is next for certain fighters. So instead of just thinking to myself, I decided to share with all of you. Enjoy!

Lyoto Machida

Obviously, he'll be taking on Rampage Jackson next. But my question is when? I've heard rumors of Rampage and Lyoto being the next coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.

I don't like that idea at all, the 205 pound division is the most stacked in the UFC. Why would you put the belt on hold (again) for seven months?

I'd like to see Lyoto and Rampage go at it at UFC 102 (which I'm attending). It makes sense, it's not like Lyoto sustained any damage against Rashad. Rampage would have plenty of time to get ready, so why not?

Rashad Evans

After suffering his first loss in his MMA career, Rashad is going to need a tune-up fight. I don't think he'll want an easy opponent.

I'd like to see him go against someone like Shogun or Thiago Silva. I think Rashad can still be a title contender, but it'll be interesting to see how he comes back from a brutal loss.

Matt Hughes

Matt Hughes pulled off a lackluster performance and gained a unanimous decision win over Matt Serra. I thought Hughes would retire, but it doesn't appear likely.

So with that being said, I think Matt Hughes's next opponent should be Brock Larson or Josh Koscheck.

Both men are contenders, but not top contenders. If Hughes somehow pulls a off a win over one of those two, then maybe he'll wash away talks of retirement.

Matt Serra

Matt Serra, although he lost, impressed me. He was always pushing the pace, and had Hughes in trouble a couple times. Serra is another fighter I hoped would retire after their UFC 98 fight, but again I'm let down.

I think since it looks like Serra will be sticking around, he should move down to 155. He'd benefit from it, he'll be bigger and stronger than his opponents.

If he chooses to stay at 170, I see him taking on someone like Carlos Condit or Marcus Davis.

Frankie Edgar

Frankie Edgar pulled out a great victory over Sean Sherk. I think that Edgar's next step should be or the loser of Guida/Sanchez.

The UFC is almost certain that the winner of Guida/Sanchez will take on the winner of Penn/Florian.

So I'd stick Edgar in there with the loser of that fight and see if he can handle himself, if he does then he may be next in line for a title shot.

I'd also like to see a rematch with him and Gray Maynard.

Sean Sherk

Sherk is 35 years old, but still in pretty good shape. He'll have to make another hike up the lightweight mountain.

I say he starts with Joe Stevenson, Stevenson is a legit gatekeeper. If Sherk wins he continues up, but if he loses then he takes a spot right beside Joe Daddy.

The Rest

Krzysztof Soszynski: I think he'll end up facing someone like Jon Jones or Brandon Vera. He's proving he has what it takes to win, now let's see him against a quality opponent.

Chael Sonnen:I say let him face someone in a comeback fight like Patrick Cote of Thales Leites. He'll be a gatekeeper for sure.

That is all folks, hope you enjoyed. As always, Leave Feedback!

What to Expect From UFC 98!

Without further delay, let's get into this fun fest!

Expect Rashad Evans and Lyoto Machida to have a great fight.

Expect that fight to end in the fourth or fifth round.

Expect Rashad Evans to still be champion.

Expect Matt Hughes to knock Matt Serra out in the second round.

Don't Expect either one to retire afterwards.

Expect Drew McFedries to win by unanimous decision.

Expect Dan Miller and Chael Sonnen to have a war.

Expect Dan Miller to be victorious and face Yushin Okami next.

Expect Sean Sherk and Frankie Edgar to open up the show with a bang.

Expect Sean Sherk to pull out a split decision.

Expect a Sherk/Diaz or Guida match next for the No.1 contender slot.

Expect Brock Larson to win, and then face Carlos Condit as his next opponent.

Expect Pat Berry to win (short & sweet).

Expect Phillipe Nover to get dominated in the first round, and then comeback to win (did somebody say Ultimate Comebacks 2).

Expect Krzysztof to win and shout out things no one cares about.

Expect Yoshiyuki Yoshida and Brandon Wolff to be very hesitant (for obvious reasons).

Expect Dave Kaplan's music choice to be suspect again.

Expect UFC 98 to be very entertaining.

Expect Mike Goldberg to say, "And let's not forget July, 11, 2009 the most historical day in MMA, UFC 100! Lesnar/Mir 2, Georges St.Pierre takes on Thaigo Alves, and the Ultimate fighter season nine coaches, Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson, do battle."

Wow I actually was in his mind frame, scary place!

That's all for now, thanks for reading as always.

Enjoy!

Fantasy Card: UFC Vs. StrikeForce

This is a question a lot of people ask, "What If the UFC put their best up against (Insert organization name here)'s best?"

I ask myself that question all the time. I know a lot of you do too, so that is why I'm putting together this fantasy card. I'll put the UFC's best against Strikeforce's best, and see who everyone thinks is going to win.

This will need votes to declare the winner, so if nobody votes, nobody wins.

These matchups are made by me,with some help by a few people, and a few comments. So enjoy.

UFC/StrikeForce

Brett Rogers Vs. Shane Carwin

Brett Rogers is 9-0, and is a top contender in Strikeforce's heavyweight division. He recently knocked his opponent Abongo Humphrey out in the second round of their fight. He is also rumored to be taking on Alistair Overeem for the Strikeforce heavyweight championship.

Rogers has a ton of power, but hasn't really faced any top competition.

Shane Carwin is a beast, who recently Knocked Gabriel Gonzaga out at UFC 96. He also has a ton of power, and is on course to fight for UFC's heavyweight title. Carwin has faced sub-par guys as well (other than Gonzaga) but is also in better shape, and looks crisper.

Carwin also has a ton of power and has faced average competition.

Gilbert Melendez Vs. Sean Sherk

Gilbert Melendez just won the interim-lightweight title at Strikeforce:Diaz v.s. Shamrock. He has a record of 15-2, with notable wins over Clay Guida, Gabe Lemley, Rodrigo Damm, and Tetsuji Kato. He is a soild striker, but best known for his ground game.He also has superb conditioning.

Gilbert Melendez is a well rounded fighter.

Sean Sherk is a tough MMA veteran, who has been in his fair share of wars. He also has great conditioning, and is pretty well rounded. He's fought top competition such as BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Georges St.Pierre, Kenny Florian, Nick Diaz, and Tyson Griffin. Sherk also has an incredible record of 33 wins and only three losses.

Sean Sherk is a well rounded veteran.

Frank Shamrock Vs. Wanderlei Silva

Frank Shamrock is nothing short of a legend in the sport of MMA. He's been fighting for 15 years, and has fought a lot of tough/big name fighters. His record currently stands at 23-10-2, his most recent fight with Nick Diaz ended with Frank being TKO'd in the second round. Shamrock is a submission specialist, with 14 of his 23 wins coming by way of a tap-out.

Frank Shamrock still has some fight left in him, and is a threat to anyone who is standing across the cage.

Wanderlei Silva is also a legend in the sport of MMA, and holds a record of 32 wins and 9 losses. 22 of those wins come by way of knockout. Silva has had numerous legendary wars, and no matter what the outcome has always put on a show.

Wanderlei is a legend with outrageous power, and will always be a game opponent.

Nick Diaz Vs. Michael Bisping

Nick Diaz is a veteran of the sport at age 25, and is a very dangerous and well rounded fighter. He recently TKO'd Frank Shamrock in April, and has 19 wins, 11 by way of knockout. 11 wins by knockout is impressive, but it's even more impressive because Nick Diaz is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt.

Nick Diaz is an extremely well rounded fighter, with a ton of potential.

Michael Bisping is a superstar in the UFC, and is one of the most loved/hated fighters. He is very talented, and has wins over Matt Hamill, Jason Day, and Chris Leben. Some say he is being babied by Dana White and the UFC, but he has a very tough test coming up against Dan Henderson.

Say what you want, but Michael Bisping is a good fighter.

Tito Ortiz Vs. Rashad Evans

Tito Ortiz is another one of those guys you love or hate. He is a pioneer in the sport of MMA, and put the UFC on the map of a lot of people. He has a record of 15-6-1, with the one draw coming from his UFC 73 fight with Rashad Evans.

Tito has recently has back surgery and said he is better than he ever was, so I'm excited to see how he fights in his next match.

Rashad Evans is the UFC light-heavyweight champion. He is undefeated with a record of 13-0-1, again with his draw coming from UFC 73. Rashad is a great wrestler, and recently has been a great striker, with two TKO victories in a row. Rashad is becoming more well rounded as his career goes on, and that is scary.

It's clear Rashad is the favorite now, but these two have unfinished business.

Quinton Jackson Vs. Renato Sobral

Renato Sobral or better known as Babalu is the current Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion. He is also a veteran, with wins over Chael Sonnen, Sokoudjou, Jeremy Horn, and Mauricio Rua. He is submission fighter with a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu. He has 32 wins, and a very dangerous ground game.

Quinton Jackson, better known as Rampage is the No. 1 contender in the UFC light-heavyweight division. He is also a veteran, and is extremely popular. He has 30 wins, 14 of which by knockout. He has faced almost every big name 205 pound fighter there is, and he is next in line to fight the winner of UFC 98.

Robbie Lawler Vs. Dan Henderson

Robbie Lawler is a powerful middleweight with a record of 18-4. 15 of his 18 wins are by knockout. He is fighting Jake Shields next in a super fight in June, he has beaten fighters like, Frank Trigg, Scott Smith, Chris Lytle, and Murilo Rua. Lawler is still only 27 years old, and hasn't lost any of his power.

Dan Henderson is a legend, and has competed against the best of the best. He's 24-7 with 10 of those wins coming from a knockout, he is an elite wrestler, and usually grinds his opponents out. Hendo has never been knocked out in his career, which is why I picked this matchup.

Jake Shields Vs. Georges St.Pierre

Jake Shields is mentioned among the best 170 pound fighters in the world. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, and has a record of 22-4. He has also beaten top talent such as Carlos Condit, Yushin Okami, and Nick Thompson. Jake has stated he would like to fight in the UFC, let's hope he does.

Georges St.Pierre is a man you can't say enough about. He is as well rounded of a fighter you can get. He is 18-2 with wins over names like Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Jason Miller, Sean Sherk, Jon Fitch, Matt Serra, Karo Parisyan, Frank Trigg, and Josh Koscheck. He is the blueprint for a MMA fighter. GSP is one of the most well-rounded fighters in MMA.

Anderson Silva Vs. Cung Le

This is a dream fight, both men are devastating strikers. This fight would be a war, both men are lethal on their feet, as well as with their feet (ba-dum*ching*).

Cung Le is a a very accomplished fighter, and boasts an undefeated MMA record. His most recent win is over Frank Shamrock, that win also won him the Strikeforce middleweight championship. He is undefeated in K-1, with a record of 3-0, and he is also undefeated in Sanshou with a record of 17-0.

Cung Le is one of the most feared strikers in MMA.

Anderson Silva is arguably the No. 1 pound for pound fighter in the world. He has nine consecutive wins in the octagon (a UFC record), and is the UFC middleweight champion. He has fought and destroyed everyone that was put in front of him. He is set to face Forrest Griffin at UFC 101.

Anderson Silva IS the most feared striker in MMA. (In my opinion)

Well folks that is it,thank you for reading!

As always, enjoy!

Random MMA News: Volume 3

It's been a crazy week thus far, and it's only Tuesday! Since I feel like writing, I'm going to give you some random MMA news. Enjoy!

UFC 101

UFC 101 is looking awesome with the addition of the most talked about bout in the last 24 hours, Forrest Griffin vs. Anderson Silva. It's definitely making me want to go watch it!

Anderson Silva can't come with any B.S. in this fight. Forrest won't pull a Thales and just lay around (knock on wood). It's Anderson's fight to lose, let's hope he doesn't!

WEC 41

Is it me or is WEC 41 looking awesome too!

Faber v. Brown II

Pulver's return, Cerrone's return, Cub Swanson, and the 145 division debut of Manny Gamburyan!

I for one hope that WEC doesn't go PPV anytime soon.

Tito Ortiz

I just listened to an interview with him at MMANEWS.com, pretty weird interview. You should check it out (if you are an Ortiz fan, like myself).

He is also close to a deal with Strikeforce, and is rumored to fight Babalu for the 205 pound title.

Strikeforce

Strikeforce's June card looks great as well. Diaz v. Smith and Shields v. Lawler. What more can you ask for?

I'm picking Smith in a dramatic finish in the third round, since that is his thing. First Pete Sell now Benji Radach.

I'm picking Shields by unanimous decision.

Wanderlei Silva

I just read an interview with Wanderlei Silva. He said he wants to fight for another five to seven years! Please, for his health, let that be false. Wanderlei has about two years maximum left in him.

Other Stuff

I've been toying with the idea of a fantasy card: UFC v. StrikeForce!

Anderson Silva v. Chung Le

Frank Shamrock v. Wanderlei Silva

Tito Ortiz v. Rashad Evans

Nick Diaz v. Michael Bisping

Jake Shields v. Georges St.Pierre

Quinton Jackson v. Renato Sobral

Robbie Lawler v. Demian Maia

BJ Penn v. Gilbert Melendez

Brock Lesnar v. Brett Rogers

Scott Smith v. Dan Henderson

Forrest Griffin v. Kimbo Slice

Gina Carano v. Sean Sherk

I'm playing with the last two (obviously)!

If you have any to add, feel free to do so in the comments section! I'm doing an article pretty soon. No votes yet, these are just rough draft matchups.

Well that is it for now, enjoy and leave feedback!

What's Next: What is the Future for These Fighters?

After watching UFC 97, I was speechless. Not because I was unsatisfied, but because I was so uncertain of what was to happen next for a few fighters. That got me to thinking (which is never a good thing), and then thinking got me to writing.

So enjoy!

Shogun Rua

Shogun is coming off of two big wins, I say big wins because they were much needed. At UFC 94 we saw him gas extremely early, and defeat a 44 year old Mark Coleman. At UFC 97 we seen him completely dominate a 39 year old Chuck Liddell. Is anyone noticing a pattern?

If his next fight is against someone above the age of 35, I'm done!

But I doubt he'll get another old opponent, I think he should get a chance to avenge his UFC 76 loss to Forrest Griffin. He's also stated he would like that fight as well.

Shogun is still a very dangerous fighter with the capability to be UFC Light-Heavy Weight champion. If he plans on fighting for the title anytime soon, he has to start fighting people who aren't almost in a retirement home (just joking of course).

I'd love to see Shogun face Forrest Griffin, or the loser of Machida/Evans.

Chuck Liddell

Chuck is almost certainly retired, but I can't see Chuck going out like that. I want to see him retire, but I think he might try to stick around for one last hurrah!

Maybe against an opponent like Keith Jardine? Or even a rematch with Wanderlei Silva? I know Wanderlei wants it.

I'm not saying Chuck Liddell is coming back, or should comeback. I'm just saying if he does, it'll be for one last fight with an opponent he could actually beat.

I'd love to see Chuck retire, but if he does comeback, face Wanderlei one last time.

Anderson Silva

After his fight with Thales Leites at UFC 97, he has to be hearing the backlash. Anderson has conquered almost everyone in the 185 division, with the exceptions of Michael Bisping and Demian Maia.

Now I'd love to see a Maia/Silva fight, but I'd put money up that it'd turn out just like UFC 97's fight with Thales Leites. Who wants to see that again? Then we have Bisping, but I would also put money up that Bisping wouldn't make it out of the 3rd round (if he makes it that far).

I for one want Silva to move up to 205 and face the guys they have up there. Just think what Rampage/Silva would look like, or even Forrest Griffin/Anderson Silva. There are so many possibilities, and it would have an even higher chance of happening if Lyoto Machida loses at UFC 98.

He'll probably face the winner of Bisping/Henderson, but I think a good matchup would be Wanderlei Silva. Everyone else at 185 is scared to stand with him, but I could almost guarantee that Wandy would be willing to trade.

I'd love to see Anderson face, Rampage Jackson, Forrest Griffin, or Wanderlei Silva.

Cheick Kongo

Cheick has been ever improving since his loss to Heath Herring at UFC 82, reeling off three straight TKO victories and two "unintentional" groin strikes. Granted two of those wins were against sub-par opponents, but a W is a W, right? Now after those three wins Kongo's cry for a title shot will get louder.

Does he deserve one? No.

I see him taking on Shane Carwin or Gabriel Gonzaga next. Then maybe if he wins against one of those two he can shove his way into the title picture. Or at-least fight for the No. 1 contender spot with the winner of Big Nog/Randy.

I'd love to see Cheick Kongo face, Shane Carwin.

Here are some simple fights I'd love to see from the fighters at UFC 97.

Brian Stann-Steve Cantwell

Steve Cantwell-Brian Stann

Luiz Cane- Brandon Vera,Keith Jardine

Denis Kang-Chris Leben,Kendall Grove

Please leave comments/feedback, or what you think is next!

What to Expect from UFC 97!

Less than a week away from "UFC 97: Redemption," so here it is.

Expect Anderson Silva to dominate Thales Leites.

Expect him to call out Demian Maia, not after the fight, but at the press conference.

Expect a win in the Shogun/Liddell fight, from whom, I don't know. This one is too close to call.

Expect it to be a KO. Again, from whom? I do not know, sorry guys.

Expect Brian Stann and Steve Cantwell to both win, and finally get that third fight out of the way.

Expect Chieck Kongo to win, but not before one "un-intentional" low blow.

Expect three of the undercard fights to be shown on the broadcast.

Expect chants of "G.S.P" to echo through the arena, even though he's not fighting.

Expect David Loiseau to win in his return to the octagon.

Expect Denis Kang to make a statement with his performance. What that statement will be, I don't know.

Expect Jason McDonald and Nate Quarry to put on a good show, with McDonald being declared the winner by an unanimous decision.

Expect Matt Wiman to submit Sam Stout, and then be booed heavily.

Expect UFC 97 to have very high energy, and be exciting to watch.

Expect, then, to reiterate the fact they are in Canada about 25 times.

Expect almost every fight to deliver, but the one(s) that don't, to be long and boring, or short and quick. :-)

EXPECT!!!

Sean's StrikeForce Review!

I just got done watching StrikeForce's Pay-Per-View and was impressed. It started off with Brett Rogers, who looked average in the first round and got a point deducted for grabbing his opponents dreadlocks. But then he came through and dominated in the second round, winning by TKO. Very good way to start off an event.

Then we had Cyborg V.S Girl Fight Monster (sounds like a Japanese horror film huh?). This was a very one-sided fight. Cris Cyborg out weighed Akana by eight pounds, the fight looked like a 10 year old throwing around an infant. But they showed Gina Carano, which is always a plus.

I think Gina could beat Cyborg, if she actually makes weight.

Then we had Scott Smith V.S Benji Radach. This fight was awesome; the majority of the fight Radach was dominated Smith, and busted him up pretty good. Then third round came and about three minutes into it, Smith hits him with a right that sent Radach crashing down. It was over, in typical Scott Smith dramatic fashion.

This was the best fight of the night.

Then we had Gilbert Melendez against Rodrigo Damm, this was another one-sided fight. Melendez dominated him for a round and a half. Midway through the second round, Melendez sent Damm crashing to the canvas (already out) and gave him some courtesy punches just to make sure the fight was over.

Nice KO, but very one sided.

Then it was the nights MAIN EVENT!

Frank "The Legend" Shamrock against Nick Diaz!

I was pretty excited about this one.

It started out with some dancing around, and then Frank tried a kick, but it was caught by Nick. After his kick was caught Frank pulled Nick into his guard. After a minute on the ground Frank stood back up, but Nick's boxing looked excellent. He gave Shamrock the gift of a bloody nose, and then the round ended.

The second round started off like the first one ended, Nick Diaz dominating Shammy, landing a lot of punches with average power. But it seemed to work, Nick landed a big punch and knocked Frank down.

He then power punched his way to a TKO victory in the second round. But in good fashion helped Frank up, held his arm up and showed him the respect he deserved.

The fight was pretty entertaining, but once again one sided.

The one thing that got on my nerves was the announce team. For future events, I'd advise StrikeForce to upgrade.

All in all it was an entertaining night of MMA. I'll gladly watch the next StrikeForce Pay-Per-View.

Thanks for reading enjoy!

Rogers wins- TKO round two

Cyborg wins- TKO round three

Smith wins-KO round three

Melendez wins- KO round two

Diaz wins- TKO round two

Schimling's Random MMA News: UFC 100, Anderson Silva,Thiago Alves, and More!

Alright after browsing around I came up with some interesting stuff. Enough to make into an article. So enjoy!

UFC 100 News

Looks like UFC 100 just got better (for me at least), my boy Jim Miller just got added! He's set to take on Mac Danzig, Dana must have read my last article.

Thiago Alves said he's ready to KO Georges St.Pierre. Here are his words: “I was born ready for this fight. I’m training hard for this one and this is the biggest fight of my career. I’m really excited to fight the baddest man on the earth and I can’t wait to knock him out. I’ve gotten so much better. I feel like the luckiest man in the world, fighting GSP, the toughest man on the planet, and fighting at UFC 100 is an honor.”

Looks like Thiago is ready!

Last but not least the Spike TV special countdown: UFC's 100 greatest fights. Will be a five part series. The voting begins May 1st, on spike.com. It will premiere on July 5th, and end on July 11th. I'm just taking a wild guess, and assuming the number one fight will be Forrest Griffin/Stephan Bonnar.

Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva has done some calling out recently. Here are his words: “How much do you weigh? So why are you going to get yourself in trouble?” Anderson asked of Wanderlei.

Anderson has his own answer to the question: He called Wanderlei’s move to 185 “pretentious.”

And then he called out Demian Maia! Here are those words: “Saying that you will beat me up or submit me is very easy, but there have been people trying to do that for some time and are not reaching their goal, Demian.”

Looks like Anderson is stirring the pot, everyone cross your fingers and hope for Silva/Maia at UFC 102 (which I'm will be attending, if it's in Portland)!

UFC Undisputed: The Video Game

I've seen a ton of video's and screen shots, and this game looks awesome! I would create Fedor, but again, the stats won't go up that high. No Randy Couture, Clay Guida, or Jim Miller. But they do have Tito!

T.U.F 9

The second episode rating were a 1.2. Which is still good, this season may revive the series. Did anyone else find the herpes bump gag inducing? Team U.S.A didn't really seem as strong as team U.K, but I'll still root for them!

Strikeforce

Saturday April 11,2009 (tomorrow) is the Strikeforce card. I'm going to Hooters and watching it. Here are my picks!

(Main Card Only)

Shamrock/Diaz- Diaz-TKO-Round 2

Melendez/Damm- Melendez-Submission-Round 1

Smith/Radach- Radach-Unanimous Dec.

Santos/Akano-Santos-KO-Round 1 (If it happens)

Rogers/Humphrey-Rogers-Unanimous Dec.

There you go, lock em' in!

Other Random Stuff

Jake Shields will appear this week on Bully Beat-down (my new favorite show). I think the bully might go home empty handed.

A Tim Sylvia/Ray Mercer boxing match will take place inside a MMA cage. This is why I hate Tim Sylvia!

Cyborg Santos weighed in six pounds over, she has until five o'clock pacific time to get down to 146. Let's hope she gets it done!

That's it for now, thanks for reading!

GO CARDINALS!

UFC 100: Epic Event or Just Another Average Pay-Per-View?

Let me start out by saying that I am in no way intending to bash UFC 100, I am just stating my opinion.

UFC 100 is supposed to be the UFC's most historic, stacked, entertaining fight card ever. It shows that the UFC has put on 100 pay-per-view events. That is quite impressive, considering they were almost bankrupt at one point.

This event was rumored to feature five title fights, Anderson Silva fighting GSP, and I've even heard rumors is was supposed to be free on Spike.

Those rumors got me excited, and I'm pretty sure it got most of you excited as well. I was so pumped for this event, it was unimaginable. The first fight I heard about was Georges St.Pierre against Thaigo Alves, which I wasn't upset about. It was a good match-up, and could be pretty exciting.

As match-up after match-up was announced, some true, some false. I got a little less excited, I then looked at the card as a whole and thought, "This is just another average card."

Yes, it does have two title bouts, and a fight between TUF 9 coaches Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping. But I was still dissatisfied.

I think the UFC could've done WAY more to make this card historic. They could've broken the mold just once. Maybe extend it from three hours to four, and add two more main card bouts.

They could've put together a card so stacked people would pay 100 dollars to order it. Instead we got two title fights, and a fight that is best suited for a co-main event at best.

Sure I'm excited to see Yoshihiro Akiyama's debut, but why not put him up against someone like Demian Maia? Challenge him! I'd love to see that fight!

Why not throw Rampage in there? Sure he was too banged up to fight at UFC 98, but who's to say he couldn't fight at UFC 100? Maybe a re-match with Forrest?

To me it seems that the UFC is playing it safe, putting three fights people want to see. Then putting on two average fights. This card is just like UFC 92.

In my mind it should've left UFC 92 in the dust. This card should be talked about for years.

I understand that they couldn't blow their whole load on one card, and then have the next two or three cards be weak, and then we'd complain. I'm just saying they could've done a little more with this card than they did.

If you put five or six good fights, you still have guys from UFC 96, 97, 98 to fill a couple cards after UFC 100.

If I had my ideal card it'd look like this:

Lesnar/Mir 2

St.Pierre/Alves

Bisping/Henderson

Rampage/Forrest 2

Akiyama/Maia

If I were to really get crazy with it, I'd throw in Penn/Florian. But I'll stay realistic!

Maybe I'm just ranting but someone out there has to feel the same.

Thanks for taking the time to read, I hope you enjoyed!

I gotta give credit to Tyler Grigg's article: The fight card announcement of UFC 100. That is what inspired me to write this little rant.

Five Off-the-Wall MMA Fights I Want To See, for Some Odd Reason...

The following five fights have no real reason behind them, but for some reason I want to see them. They are just random fights that appeal to me. Thank you, and enjoy!

5. BJ Penn V.S. Gray Maynard

This fight is on here simply because I want to see Maynard get his a$$ kicked. He is quickly climbing the ranks of 155 pounds, and may get his shot. I want to make sure this fight happens. When Maynard goes to lay and pray, BJ will put him in a submission and tap him.

This may have a little to do with Gray beating Jim Miller, but who cares. I think this would actually be a somewhat good fight (all bias aside). Do I think BJ will win? Yes! Do I think Gray would put up a good fight? Yes! Should this happen? In time.

4. Jon Jones V.S. Keith Jardine

This would be a good fight because both men have awkward styles. This would be the most confusing fight in UFC history (j/k). I think it would be an awesome fight.

Jardine is tough, and Bones is just a beast. This would a very tough test for Jones, and the same goes for Jardine. The real winner here is the fans!

I think if Jones gets past Jake O'Brien at UFC 100, this fight might not be too far off. Jardine's next opponent won't matter, win or lose Jones may be in his future.

3. Carlos Condit V.S. Anthony Johnson

This would be an awesome fight. Both men are exciting and need to keep climbing that stacked 170 pound ladder. Condit is coming off of a "loss" to Martin Kampmann, and Rumble is coming off of a win over Luigi Fioravanti. Both men are top contenders.

Both men are always entertaining and need a big win. This fight is one I hope happens sooner than later.

2. Anderson Silva V.S. Rashad Evans

I want to see this fight because of two reasons:

1. It would be awesome.

2. I want to see Rashad get his a$$ kicked.

This would also give Rashad a chance to beat Anderson Silva, who doesn't want to be the man to do that? If Rashad beats Lyoto than I see no reason why this won't happen. Anderson can avenge his friend's loss, and claim the 205 pound crown in one fight.

1. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson V.S. Brock Lesnar

Yeah, yeah I know this one will more than likely never happen, but just think of the possibilities. This would be a huge draw, and a great fight in general. I think this would be a classic fight!

Rampage Jackson, a very marketable, powerful, and great fighter. Against Brock Lesnar, a big, powerful, great fighter. I know 'page would be out-weighed, but who isn't out-weighed by Lesnar?

This could be an epic battle, now let's just hope somehow that it happens!

That is my list, it may not make sense, but like I said before they have no real reason behind them! I hope you enjoyed reading, leave feedback/comments!

What to Expect From Ultimate Fight Night 18

Yeah, I know, I usually do pay-per-views, but this card is pretty awesome, so....

Expect 3 Under-card fights to be shown on the broadcast.

Expect Carlos Condit to finish Kampmann. How? I don't know, but he'll finish him.

Expect Ryan Bader to win by a unanimous decision.

Expect Tyson Griffin to look great in his fight.

Expect Cole Miller and Junie Browning to earn fight of the night honors.

Expect Cole Miller to submit Junie in the third round.

Expect Junie to be hella depressed afterwards.

Expect Brock Larson to look great in his UFC re-introduction.

Expect Jeremy Stephens to KO Gleison Tibau.

Expect Nick Catone and Tim Credeur's fight to be boring.

Expect Matt Horwich to lose, but not without a fight.

Expect UFN 18 be another great free card, and not just because it was free.

Expect a video for UFC 2009: Undisputed, and everyone thinks, "Damn, that game looks sick!"

Expect an interview with Lyoto Machida.

Expect UFC 100 announcements.

Expect Joe Rogan to make a smart comment. (LOL)

Expect the above expectation to be wrong.

Expect Mike Goldberg to what he does every event, nothing.

Expect Expect Expect Expect.

Enjoy.....

Random MMA News

Bobby Lashley won a UD over Jason Guida, congrats?

Lyoto Machida stated in a recent interview he drinks his own urine. If drinking your own urine makes you as good and elusive as him, I'm going to start bottling mine up a.s.a.p.

Chuck Liddell has recently said he wants to re-gain the LHW belt. I say, please Chuck, just retire.

Just saw a video of UFC 2009: Undisputed, and, "Damn that game looks sick!" :-)

Floyd Mayweather's return,59.95.

UFC 100,44.95.

Fedor fighting on a cable network: priceless!

I'm watching UFC 100 and Fedor. Money Mayweather can kiss my a$$.

I'm off to Vegas, so, until March 31, see ya'll later!

I'm Joe Silva For One Event: UFC 103

UFC 103: Halloween Havoc

October 31, 2009

Las Vegas, NV — MGM Grand

Undercard

Paul Taylor vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida

This would be a good fight, Taylor is always exciting. Yoshida would need this fight to get back into his old form, and avoiding being "Koscheck-ed". Both men have fights before at 98 and 99, but could take this fight win or lose.

Chris Lytle vs. Dan Cramer

Lytle always puts on a great show, and Cramer has been good since stint in The Ultimate Fighter. This would be a great fight to gage where each fighter is in terms of their future in the UFC. Both men are recognized names, and will be sure to get the fans amped up.

Jake Rosholt vs. Ed Herman

No real reason behind this one, but I think it'd be an awesome fight. Does that count for much?

Dave Kaplan vs. Jeremy Stephens

I think Kaplan will win his fight with Roop, and this fight will actually test Kaplan. Stephens is a win away from main card status, this could be his moment. Both fighters would put up a good fight.

James Irvin vs. Alessio Sakara

Both guys are good strikers, and have KO power. This could be a the Fight of the Night winner, maybe even Knockout of the Night honors. Any one is fine by me.

Main Card

Dustin Hazelett vs. Brock Larson

McLovin' is gaining popularity, and Brock Larson is a well-known WEC top welterweight contender. This is a huge match for both men. I see this as a two-round war, with someone winning by submission.

Ryan Bader vs. Jason Brilz

Bader would be coming off of a win at UFN 18, and Brilz would be coming off a win over Tim Boetsch. Both men would need this win to prove they belong in the always tough light heavyweight division.

Thales Leites vs. Dan Miller

Both are top middleweight contenders, and both are looking for shots at title gold. A win here for both men would mean some serious climbing up the ladder. Miller and Leites is a great match-up.

Co-Main Event

Diego Sanchez vs. Sean Sherk

This would be for the No.1 contender for the 155 pound crown. It's also a great fight in general. Both men deserve a shot, and both are hungry. This would defiantly be a classic fight that a lot of people want to see.

Main Event

Rich Franklin vs. Chuck Liddell

A great fight no matter what happens in their next fights. Franklin is making the permanent move to 205, and Liddell is trying his hardest to keep fighting. Both men will be going for broke, and it should be an exciting fight.

R.I.P Charles "Mask" Lewis Jr. This Article Is for You!

On March 11, 2009 we lost a very special and unique person. Charles Lewis Jr., better known as "Mask," from the TapouT crew.

He was the founder of the TapouT clothing line, a true entrepreneur of MMA, and a colorful personality. He was pronounced dead after getting into an accident in New Port Beach, Calif.

When I found this news out, it hurt. Not because I knew the guy personally, but because his passion for MMA was so infectious I felt like I knew him.

He was a real person, I watched the TapouT show all the time, and saw how passionate he was, when a fighter needed to vent, he was there to listen.

He was a fun-loving guy who started selling t-shirts from the trunk of his car in 1997. His dream was to bring his TapouT brand to the public, and he achieved his goal though hard work and dedication.

In 1999 his company only made $30,0003, he kept it going, eventually he pushed his company over the $100 million mark in 2008.

Mask was a guy that seemed to get along with everyone; he seemed like he never took life to seriously, he just lived. His death was untimely and tragic; the MMA community as a whole lost a good person.

"COWBOYYYY!"

I will always remember him yelling that to Donald Cerrone in an episode of TapouT. now every-time I see Donald Cerrone fight, I can't help but to yell it also. He managed to make a mark on everyone's heart that watched the show.

Seeing how he acted, and reading about him through various websites, I feel he wouldn't want us to cry and be depressed (although it's hard not to feel that way). He'd want everyone to live in his memory and love MMA as he did. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

http://www.mmanews.com/other/Masks-Final-Interview-Before-Untimely-Death.html

Above is the link to his final interview before his death. It's him talking about how he got his start. A very good interview, I'd recommend taking some time and watching it.

He will be missed by all.

R.I.P Charles "Mask" Lewis Jr.

"At the end of the day, the world's going to know my dream." - ''Mask"

Below I've included some comments about him from various people on-line:

Mask was known for his kindness and willingness to help others who were less fortunate. He was a true example of the motto "That it is much better to give than it is to receive" and his life attests to this. He will be deeply missed and he will never be forgotten. He will go down as an MMA icon who gave his heart and soul to sponsoring the sport he so dearly loved -- MIXED MARTIAL ARTS!!!!! RIP my brother.(TerribleT)

Mask was an inspiration to all, and this is a great loss for MMA. He brought us entertainment, and had a great outlook on life itself. He will be missed. I'll never forget you man! (Gdubb3)

He was a pioneer, he and his crew were around when UFC was in single digits. He never gave up on the sport, or his dream. He'll forever be remembered. (Jstoner420)

Mask, thank you for being an inspirational figure. I watch your show every time it was on, always getting a good laugh because of you. You truly loved mixed martial arts, and it showed. I would just like to thank you for being so passionate, this is a great loss, not just for MMA but for the world. R.I.P. Charles. (BigBoy33)

What this guy did for the up and coming fighters, and for the sport in general was unbelievable. I once heard someone say that he was just as important to MMA has the 4 oz. gloves. A bold statement, but a true statement.

My favorite episode was when the crew traveled out to Hilo to see Albert Manners, a talented but troubled kid who BJ was almost ready to give up on. This kid had no place to stay, no food, no money, no family, no anything. Mask gave Albert some money for food, hooked him up with all the TapouT gear he could ever dream of, and even got him his own apartment. When they walked into the apartment and Mask said, "this is your new place," Albert was speechless.

I'll never forget the advice he gave Albert before leaving (not verbatim):

"Whether you make it to BJ's level or not, that isn't the most important thing. The most important thing is that you try. I don't know if I'll ever be Nike, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna try. I respect that you're trying to do something just like I'm trying to do something. Respect your opponent, respect yourself, and try."

Sweet stuff. (Flyin' Hawaiian)

Thanks for reading.

I'm Joe Silva for One Event: UFC 102

After Mr. Morris's fantastic UFC 101 card, I thought I'd try to follow up. So this is my card for UFC 102!

UFC 102: Proving Ground

Sept. 5, 2009

New York City

Madison Square Garden

Undercard

Jason MacDonald vs. Jason Day

This is a loser leaves the UFC-type fight. Two guys who are in need of a win and will leave it all in the octagon! Just the kind of fight you need to start off an event.

Tim Boetsch vs. Houston Alexander

Tim Boetsch just lost at UFC 96, and Alexander is always unpredictable. This fight would be entertaining and most likely end in a knock-out. Another one of those lose- and-your-on-the-way-out fights. Both men could use this win!

Jim Miller vs. Mac Danzig

Two guys who have recently lost. Yes, my boy Jim Miller was dominated at UFC 96, but he'll bounce back! Mac Danzig has also had some bad luck lately. Both men will have to do some under-card work before being put back on the main card.

This fight would be a great test for both men.

Chael Sonnen vs. Alan Belcher

Chael Sonnen could use a win, the former WEC middleweight champion lost to Demian Maia in his recent UFC bout. Alan Belcher, on the other hand, beat Denis Kang. Belcher is set to fight at UFC 99 against Alessio Sakara.

This fight could benefit both men. If Sonnen wins he's back in good graces. If Belcher wins, he is now on the map! This could be a very entertaining fight!

Vinicius Magalhaes vs. Stephan Bonnar

I know the possibility of Bonnar on the under-card is slim, but I'm Joe Silva, so shut up!

This could be a very good fight! Bonnar lost to Jon ''Bones" Jones in his last fight, and needs to have a tune-up bout. Vinny last fought Ryan Bader at the TUF 8 finale, and will need to make a statement.

Both men will be looking to make an impact. It could make for an entertaining fight!

Main Card

Carlos Condit vs. Jon Fitch

The former WEC welterweight champion is up against top contender Jon Fitch. The winner would most likely be fighting for the gold!

Condit would be coming off a win at UFN 18. Fitch would be coming off a win at UFC 94. Fitch and Condit would make a very entertaining fight, both men are machines! They'd test each other for three full rounds, definitely entertaining.

Keith Jardine vs. Matt Hamill

Why not? Throw a rising star (Hamill) against a tested gate-keeper (Jardine)!

This fight would tell us exactly where Hamill is at, and how Jardine handles his loss. Both men fought at UFC 96, and would be 100 percent ready! This could be a very exciting fight.

Yushin Okami vs. Patrick Cote

This is Cote's comeback fight, no tune-ups necessary!

Cote will be hungry for another title shot, who better to face than the man who's place he took at UFC 90.

Cote will be 100 percent by this time, and will want to fight someone who he can use to launch right back into title contention. Okami will be able to use this fight to launch him straight to a title fight! Both men have a win/win situation.

This fight should be entertaining, but yet could be boring! So I may have gambled with this one a little too much!

Co-Main Event

Mauricio Rua vs. Quinton Jackson

So this is what I'm thinking! Rampage won't be ready to fight at UFC 98, so they'll replace him with Lyoto Machida. That would leave Rampage to do some recovering and hang out with his family, also it would help his mental state.

So this would be his next fight!

Shogun will be coming off a win or loss to Liddell, and Rampage will be coming off a win at UFC 96! This is the fight that should've happened at UFC 86!

Both men will be looking for a title shot with a win (if Shogun beats Liddell). They are both dynamic strikers, and have KO power. Rampage will be looking to make a statement, as will Shogun. This is a likely "Fight Of The Night" winner, or "Knockout Of The Night Winner!"

This should be an exciting fight! (Just for the record, I pick Shogun over Liddell at UFC 97, but I'm saving that for What To Expect From UFC 97)!!!

Main Event

B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian (Lightweight Title Fight)

This is a highly anticipated fight between two top 155-pound fighters. B.J's last fight was at UFC 94, and Kenny's last fight was at UFC 91!

This should be a great fight! Kenny has improved greatly since his last title shot, at UFC 64, and B.J is a monster at 155!

This is a very exciting main event. B.J has solid stand-up and a solid ground game. So does Kenny, he also has those razor-sharp elbows!

I see this being a bloody war between two great fighters, and UFC 102 going down as one of the best PPV's of 2009!

UFC In 2008

2008 was a great year for UFC, and MMA as a whole. It was one of my favorites! I'm not one to live in the past, but I am one to remember it. So for my first slideshow, I choose to remember 2008!

in this slideshow I'll look back at every event UFC put on in '08. Fight Nights,Finales, and Pay Per Views.

Enjoy!
Begin Slideshow

What to Expect From UFC 96

Yes, it's that time again!

Enjoy!

Expect Quinton Jackson and Keith Jardine to have a quick and exciting fight, or a long and boring fight. No in between.

Expect Shane Carwin to pull off the upset, and beat Gabriel Gonzaga.

Expect Pete Sell to win knockout of the night, OR

Expect Matt Brown to win submission of the night.

Expect Matt Hamill to dominate Mark Munoz.

Expect Jim Miller to hand Gray Maynard his first loss.

Expect Jim Miller to face the winner of Sherk/Edgar.

Expect Kendall Grove's fight to be shown on air.

Expect Kendall Grove to win by unanimous decision.

Expect Brandon Vera to lose!

Expect Dana White (if Rampage wins) to announce Rampage/Rashad as the co-main event at UFC 100.

Expect Keith Jardine to give Rashad advice on Rampage.

Expect his advice to sound like this, "He hits really hard!" Or, "If I were you, I'd avoid his punches."

Expect Chuck Norris to visit the Virgin Islands, and after he leaves they re-name them The Islands.

Expect the loser of Carwin/Gonzaga to face the winner of Kongo/Hardonk.

Expect UFC 96 to be a good card, but only have like 350,000 buys.

Expect an Expect article for UFC 97.

BONUS

Random Thoughts & News

In case you haven't heard, Bobby Lashley will face Ken Shamrock at March Badness. This fight should be an easy win for Lashley. I predict Shamrock will "accidentally" cut himself before this fight.

WEC 39 was pretty exciting last night, I was satisfied.

Mike Brown looked good, Leonard Garcia looked bad.

Brown/Faber 2 is a sure thing. I hope for a five round war.

Jose Aldo looked good last night as well. Garcia/Aldo anyone?

Joe Stevenson's next opponent may be Mac Danzig in a loser gets walking papers match. (j/k) But both men need this win! Should be entertaining.

No GSP/Penn 3, thank God!

Lesnar/Mir 2 at UFC 98 has been made official! (Like we didn't already know.)

Anthony Johnson might face John Howard at the T.U.F 9 finale. Two explosive/exciting welterweights! Sounds good to me.

Chung Le wants to face Anderson Silva! *crossing fingers*

Wanderlei Silva said he wants to face Rampage before he retires. I guess some people can't let go. He doesn't want to accept the fact Rampage is better than him now.

Yoshihiro Akiyama has stated he'd like to fight Wanderlei Silva somewhere down the line. That could be a good fight. (Thoughts?)

That is all for now!

Hope you enjoyed!

My Top Five Fighters of the Future

The UFC is evolving, older guys like Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Mark Coleman, and Matt Hughes are quickly falling. While other younger guys are coming up. It happens in every sport, in the NBA Michael Jordan retired (finally) and let guys like Kobe and LeBron have the spotlight.

It happens in every sport! The UFC is no different....

The question is what new young talent will take over? We have the Forrest Griffin's, Quinton Jackson's, Rashad Evans's, Georges St.Pierre's, BJ Penn's, and Anderson Silva's. But what next? After this crop retires, who's next?

I can't tell you for sure, because I can't predict the future. But I can sure take a guess. So here are my top five fighters of the future.

Jon "Bones" Jones

Jon Jones burst on the scene in 2008, fighting seven times! Including three times in April alone! Not to mention he won all seven of those fights.

Eventually making in in the UFC at UFC 87, as a late replacement for Tomasz Drwal. He faced a tough test another new comer in Andre Gusmao, whom he beat by Unanimous Decision.

After his impressive showcase of unorthodox striking, and powerful take-downs, he was asked to comeback.

He then fought at UFC 94, this time against a fan favorite Stephan Bonnar. Jones was an underdog, but put an end to that after he dropped Bonnar in the first round with a spinning back elbow.

He again put on a show, throwing unorthodox strikes, and displaying powerful take-downs, he even suplexed Bonnar.

After he pulled of that upset he jumped on many peoples radar, including mine. Jones has a very bright future with the UFC, a future that may include UFC gold. He needs to improve his cardio, he gassed in the third round against Bonnar. As well as his striking, sometime unorthodox strikes get you TKO'd (just ask Urijah Faber).

But other than that Jon Jones has the looks of a superstar, but only time will tell.

Anthony "Rumble" Johnson

Anthony Johnson is more experienced than some, but is still not 100 percent ready.

He first made his presence known at Ultimate Fight Night 10, knocking out Chad Reiner in thirteen seconds. He was then put up against UFC veteran Rich Clementi. He was out-classed and submitted in the second round.

He was then matched up with TUF 6 runner-up Tommy Speer, whom he KO'd in 51 seconds.

After that fight he was paired with Kevin Burns. He controlled the majority of the fight, but was illegally poked in his eye, resulting in a TKO. This fight was highly controversial because Burns was warned several times about the eye pokes.

Johnson however remained calm in defeat, and took it in stride.

A rematch was set-up, Johnson ended up winning by TKO in the third round with a Rashad Evans like head kick.

He was then put up against Luigi Fioravanti, who he TKO'd in Round One. Johnson however was not happy with his performance and vowed to comeback even better.

Anthony Johnson will be a champion one day! Mark my words!!

Jim Miller

No surprise here!

Jim Miller made his way on the scene in 2005/2006. He was fighting in the Reality Fighting organization. He went 4-0 and won the Reality Fighting featherweight title. He lost it in his last fight for that organization against Frankie Edgar.

He then went on an eight fight winning streak (which is still going).

He cruised into the UFC at UFC 89, and faced David Baron. He was able to submit Baron in the third round by rear-naked choke.

After that he went on to face Matt Wiman at the UFC's fight for the troops event. He dominated Winman the whole fight and pulled off the unanimous decision victory.

He is now set to face Gray Maynard at UFC 96, which I expect him to win. After that I'd like to see a re-match with Frankie Edgar, so he can avenge that loss!

Jim Miller is 25 years old and keeps improving. He seems like he's destined for greatness! But maybe I'm a little biased? ;-)

Ben Saunders

Ben Saunders was introduced to us courtesy of TUF 6. While on the show he beat No.1 pick Dan Barrera, and then lost by decision to Tommy Speer. After the show he again faced Dan Barrera at the TUF 6 finale. Winning again by unanimous decision. In the fight he displayed superior striking.

He then fought at UFC 87 against Ryan Drew Thomas, in a bout which he won by second round submission (arm lock). He was praised again for his improving game.

At UFC's fight for the troops he faced Brandon Wolff. In this fight he demonstrated a clinch full of violent knees, and an array of high knees. His clinch reminded a lot of people of Anderson Silva!

He was then set to face Dustin Hazelett (remember that name) at UFC 96. But Hazelett was forced to pull out due to injury. Ryan Madigan was his replacement. But then Saunders was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury.

Hopefully they re-schedule this fight, it with certainly bring fireworks!

As for Ben Saunders, the sky is the limit!

Dustin Hazelett

Dustin Hazelett burst onto the scene at Shamrock/Ortiz 3:The Final Chapter, losing to Tony DeSouza (guess he didn't really burst on the scene...).

He rebounded at UFC 67, pulling off a unanimous decision against Diego Saraiva. He returned at UFC 72, winning with a anaconda choke in the first round.

At UFN 11 he faced a good opponent in Jonathan Goulet, pulling off an upset. He won by armbar in the first round.

Dana White was ready to test him, and put him up against Josh Koscheck at UFC 82. Koscheck proved to be too much for him, and beat him by TKO in the second round.

Since that fight Hazelett has pulled off two highlight reel submissions: a flying armbar against Josh Burkman, winning him his first submission-of-the-night award.

He repeated that feat at UFC 91 against Tamdan McCrory, pulling off a reverse armbar.

Like I said before he was supposed to fight Ben Saunders at UFC 96, but both parties were forced to pull out due to injury. Lets hope they re-schedule it!

Dustin Hazelett is 22, and has an extremely bright future.

Honorable Mentions

Dan Miller 11-1-1 (IFL Middleweight champion, 3-0 in the UFC, Jim Miller's older bro)

Jeremy Stephens 16-4 ( UFC veteran, 22 years old, willing to fight anyone/anywhere)

Josh Neer 25-7 ( Win over Mac Danzig, 25 years old, veteran, 2-1 in the UFC)

Alan Belcher 14-5 (Wins over Denis Kang and Ed Herman, 8 fights in the UFC)

Matthew Riddle (2-0 in the UFC, poweful hands, 23 years old)

A few notes

I'm not including names like Cain Velasquez, Joe Lauzon, Nate Diaz. Anyone who is already established.

FEEDBACK!!

What I Want To See from the UFC in 2009

Two months into 2009 and I'm still not seeing what I want from the UFC. I'm not complaining, but feel the need to rant. The UFC already screwed up major by not picking up any Pro-Elite contracts, now they have Strikeforce right behind them.

They need to acquire more talent. I know they've already begun the process, but they need to get a move on. Alistair Overeem could help them tremendously, they need to hurry up and get him signed!

I've heard the rumblings of Fedor and Dana talking in July. They need to kiss that man's ass! They need to do anything possible to get him in the octagon, just think of Lesnar vs. Fedor as a main event!

They need to come up with a new concept for TUF 10. I know they're trying, with the whole United States vs. United Kingdom thing. They need to sign guys like (hear me out) Bobby Lashley, Glover Teixeira, Satoshi Ishii, and Hasim Rahman. The winner gets a fight with Fedor (if they sign him), or even a title shot.

I know that it won't happen, but I'm just throwing it out there. None of those guys would agree to be in that house cooped up for six weeks, and they won't be ready to take on a force like Fedor, or a heavyweight champion.

The UFC should give Lyoto Machida his well deserved, and earned, title shot. The guy is undefeated and fights anyone you place in front of him. Although he may be boring to some, he still deserves his shot.

They also need to make Anderson Silva's last four fights (after UFC 97) count. Do not give him a single easy opponent. I say they make him face Demian Maia, then after the fight (win or lose) vacate the middleweight title and move him to light heavyweight.

Only super fights from there!

Maybe face Quinton Jackson, GSP (at a catch-weight), Fedor (if he signs), or Randy Couture.

They need to expand the places they hold events. I mean it's cool they're going over-seas and stuff, but I'd like to see an event in Washington. I've heard that UFC 101 is going to be in Portland. I'm definitely getting tickets if that's true!

They need to stop babying Michael Bisping!

He's facing Hendo (who is just a tad past him prime) and that's great, but he needs to step up and face some real contenders. I'm talking Nate Marquardt, Thales Leites, Demian Maia, etc.

Also they need to make a fight between Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida happen.

That's all for now, enjoy!

UFC: Hollywood (An Interactive Event)

I know we've all thought about our favorite celebrities duking it out. Who would win, what would happen? How much would I have to pay to see it?

I often wonder about that. As I'm watching a movie, thinking, "I wonder how he'd do in a fight?"

Well I thought of nine fights I'd like to see happen in the octagon. I call it UFC: Hollywood! I want you to cast your votes below, so we can finally declare winners!

Enjoy!

Gerard Butler vs. Russell Crowe

These two played similar roles, Butler played King Leonidas in 300. Crowe played Maximus in The Gladiator. Both roles involved them kicking a**, and taking names (until their death at the end of the movie).

Who would win in a fight?

Butler is the younger of the two, and seems to be in better shape. He did lead an army of 300 against thousands of Persians, so he's got that working for him. But does he have the same tenacity as King Leonidas? Only time will tell!

Russell Crowe has always has a bad-ass reputation. He played in one of my all-time favorite movies, The Gladiator. He also was parodied on an episode of South Park, he hosted a TV show called fightin' round the world. Although older, he did kill an evil king in an epic final battle, with an injury. Can he repeat?

Ashton Kutcher vs. Jamie Kennedy

These two don't like each other. Although it never gained much publicity, Jamie Kennedy always resented Ashton Kutcher for stealing his idea. Jamie Kennedy had the first big prank show on TV called The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. Then Ashton Kutcher came and stole it, and made it bigger and better.

Which prankster would emerge victorious?

Jamie Kennedy has had a longer career, but with less commercial success. He tried to be rapper, but failed miserably. Although he could have a comeback with a role in Scream 4, he has fallen out of the lime-light. Can he defeat Mr.Moore?

Ashton Kutcher made his splash on a TV show called That 70's Show. He then went on to make a prank show called Punk'd, which was ratings gold for MTV. His movie career was disappointing to some people, many thought he did too many "Chick" flicks. Could he prove them wrong?

Tim Allen vs. John Travolta

The battle of the Wild Hogs! No description necessary.

Tim Allen was made famous by a classic sitcom called Home Improvement. That translated into box office success, including a movie about fighting called Joe Somebody. Allen is old at 55, this could be a heavy load for the tool man. Can he prove the critics wrong?

John Travolta is one of my favorite actors, he's been in numerous classics. He is also 55 years of age, and has been in action movies involving violence such as Face/Off, Swordfish, Broken Arrow, and Domestic Disturbance. He recently lost his son (R.I.P) which could give him motivation. Could he be the punisher? :-)

Adam Sandler vs. Will Farrell

Two comedy kings go at it!

Adam Sandler is an established comedy king, and very funny guy. He has classic films like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy. He is also a platinum selling recording artist. Will he be able to reign over Farrell?

Will Farrell is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. He's been in classic movies such as Talledega Nights, Anchorman, Old School, Step Brothers, and Zoolander. He also stepped in as a replacement for Sandler on SNL. Can he emerge as the superstar?

Bret Michaels vs. Flava Flav

The battle for reality dating supremacy!

Bret Michaels was the lead singer of Poison, and is now rolling solo. He has had three dating shows on VH1, and has gained popularity from it. His last album Rock My World has sold quite well. Many argue his women are better looking than Flava Flav's. Can he Rock N Roll over Flava Flav?

Flava Flav is the original hype man, he was a part of Public Enemy. He also got into the reality show dating world, launching Flavor Of Love on VH1. He is 49 years old, but is still very active. Can he defeat Bret Michaels? (I had nothing)

Tobey McGuire vs. Christian Bale

Superhero showdown!

Tobey McGuire stars in Spiderman, he is Peter Parker. Young and in shape, he is set for his toughest test, Batman! Tobey has stated he works out daily, and has to stay fit for his role in the movie. Can he capture a win over Christian Bale?

Christian Bale has recently become Batman! His last film, The Dark Knight, is second all-time in the box office. He has also recently went on a rampage at the set of his up-coming movie, Terminator: Salvation. That's right, Terminator! Can he terminate Tobey McGuire?

Jennifer Aniston vs. Angelina Jolie

The fight everyone has been waiting on!

Jennifer Aniston was Brad Pitt's first wife, and a well-known cast member of Friends. This rivalry all started in 2005, when she was dumped for her opponent. She has went on to date John Mayer, but still feels the sting every time she reads the tabloids. Will revenge be sweet?

Angelina Jolie is Brad Pitts current girlfriend, and established actress. She linked up with him on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the rest was history. They now have like six kids and go around the world doing charity work. She's still hot to me! Will she be able to one-up Jennifer again?

Co-Main Event

Sylvester Stallone vs. Mickey Rourke

Rocky vs. The Wrestler

Sylvester Stallone gained popularity when he portrayed Rocky. He then went on to release five sequels and another popular movie franchise called Rambo. He usually plays in action packed movies, and has recently announced there will be a Rambo V. Can he do it one more time for Adrian?

Mickey Rourke began his career in the Steven Spielberg's film 1941, he then went on to have a promising career. Until 1991, he retired from acting to box, he held a record of 6-0-2.

He retired from that stating, "I'm too old to beat any top competitors." In 2005, he made a comeback starring in Sin City, and recently starring in The Wrestler. Can he box his way to a win?

Main Event

The Battle Of Sports Movie Legends

Dennis Quaid vs. Kevin Costner

Dennis Quaid has starred in classics such as Any Given Sunday, The Rookie, and The Express. He golfs on a regular basis, and is starring in the upcoming G.I. Joe movie! Dennis Quaid is still strong, works out, and is no stranger to pain. Can he gain an ad-vantage point on Costner?

Kevin Costner is a sports movie legend, and an average baseball player. He has starred in classics such as Bull Durham, Field Of Dreams, and For The Love Of The Game. He is still in great shape for his age (54), and still has some fight left in him. Can he disrupt Quaid's perfect world?

I will not be voting BUT will give my predictions!

Crowe Defeats Butler- TKO Round 3

Kutcher Defeats Kennedy-Split Decision

Travolta Defeats Allen- Rear Naked Choke Round 1

Farrell Defeats Sandler- KO Round 2

Flava Flav Defeats Michaels- Corner Stoppage Round 3

Bale Defeats McGuire- TKO Round 1

Jolie Defeats Aniston - TKO Round 3

Rourke Defeats Stallone- KO Round 1

Quaid Defeats Costner- Unanimous Decision Round 3

I hope you enjoy!

I will count votes on March 5!

5 Fighters I Want The UFC To Sign

The UFc has already missed out on a huge opportunity to sign Jake Shields, Robbie Lawler, Gina Carano, etc. But there are still fighters out there to be signed. The UFC should at-least try to match what Strikeforce did.

Here are my five fighters the UFC should sign.

5. Alistair Overeem

Alistair Overeem is a fighter who can bring some depth to the HW division. He is veteran fighter, and he is only 28 years old! his record of 29-11 shows that he has more experience than 95 percent of the fighters in the HW division.

I think he could come in and immediately stake his claim for the No.1 contender spot. He last loss in 2007 to Sergei Khartionov, since that fight he is 4-0-1, with wins over Paul Buentello and Mark Hunt. He has stated he wants to fight for the UFC, so the ball is in Dana's court now.

4. Dan Lauzon

Dan Lauzon is 12-2 in his MMA career. He has fought in the UFC once, at UFC 64. He lost his fight to Spencer Fisher, he was only 18 at the time. Fast forward two years, and you have a more complete dominating fighter.

I first seen Dan Lauzon on the show TapOut and decided to do some research on him (youtube, wikipedia, google, etc.). He fights at 155 pounds, the same as his brother Joe, which could cause problems. But then again, maybe they have a score to settle, who wouldn't like to see two brothers beat up on each-other?

Dan Lauzon is only 20 years old and full of potential. He recently made quick work of Bobby Green at Affliction:Day Of Reckoning. The UFC would be smart to offer this young star a contract.

3. Gegard Mousasi

Here is my *duh* pick. Gegard Mousasi is a very talented fighter from Armenia. In 2008 alone he went 6-0 in MMA, and 1-0 in K-1. He was thought by many to be a threat to be a top 5 middleweight, but that has changed.

Not because he has fallen off, but because he has decided to move up in weight. He is now going to fight at light-heavyweight or heavyweight. The UFC would hope for heavyweight, he could bulk up their shallow HW division. He would also be a great match for Frank Mir, Brock Lesnar, Randy Couture, Gabriel Gonzaga, etc.

Gegard Mousasi would be very, very, very welcomed addition to the UFC, in any division!

2. Paulo Filho

Yes, I said It, the UFC should sign Paulo Filho! Go head let the hate comments come!

He's had time to get things sorted out, and with Anderson's retirement looming the 185 pound division is up for grabs. I know he has had a lot of problems, but here is my solution.

Sign him to a one fight deal and see how he does. I mean you don't go 16-0 and become the WEC middleweight champion by accident. He has the skills and tools to become great, he just needs to become mentally stable. That last fight with Chael Sonnen was quite ridiculous.

There are numerous questiosn about him, but I believe with help he could return to greatness. I mean this guy was once mention on lists of fighters who could beat Anderson Silva. He was once considered a top 5 middleweight, that kind of talent doesn't just go away.

1. Muhammed Lawal

Muhammed Lawal is a 28 year old fighter, he is also known as "King Mo." He is known for his flashy entrances. Although he has only fought 3 times, he has made a name for himself. He is currently 3-0 with three TKO's.

He is young at 28 years of age, and has a ton of potential. Dana White could benefit from signing him. He is an entertainer, and would likely be a very popular fighter. Which means he would generate money, and we all know Dana, " LOOOOVES MONEY!!!" (In my best Entertainer voice)

Lawal may be inexperienced, but with help from Team Quest he should be ok. This makes sense for Lawal for a couple reasons.

1. He is currently fighting sub-par opponents in Japan, if he wants to really test himself the UFC has the best to offer.

2. He is an entertainer, and what bigger stage is there than the UFC? He could make a huge name for himself and become Dana's new ratings machine.

Most may not agree with my choices, but oh well. I think these fighters would help the UFC, and draw even more attention and fans to them.

Just for fun

Alistair Overeem vs. Frank Mir

Dan Lauzon vs. Diego Sanchez

Gegard Mousasi vs. Brock Lesnar

Paulo Filho vs. Nate Marquardt

Muhammed Lawal vs. Dan Henderson

Sounds good to me!

To Protest Getty Images, I will now accompany every article I write with a LARGE picture of Dana White, Enjoy!

I'm Joe Silva for One Event: Ultimate Fight Night 19!

Say you got the chance to be Joe Silva for a day. You could plan an entire UFC event, set the fights you want to see. I know every MMA/UFC fan has thought about it.

What I would like to do, is kind of set off a domino effect with this article. Maybe someone else would like to be Joe Silva for a day and plan an event? Maybe UFC 101? Who knows, I think it'd be fun, but it may end up just being me. Only time will tell!

Enjoy my Joe Silva event: Ultimate Fight Night 19!

Event: UFN 19

Place: Tacoma,Wa- Tacoma Dome (Yeah,Yeah I know)

Date: July 4

Time: 4:00pm (pacific time)

This would kind of serve as a warm-up for UFC 100! It'd be used to run promo, and other things.

Undercard

Matt Riddle V.S Jonathan Goulet

Good chance for Riddle to show what he's got, also a good chance for Goulet to show he's still got it. Should also be an exciting fight for the fans.

Matt Wiman vs. Kurt Pellegrino

Pellegrino is not slouch, and Wiman i always ready for a fight. Should be an exciting fight, and has "fight of the night" potential. Wiman could use this to get back in the win column. Pellegrino could use it to stay in it.

Elliot Marshall vs. Matt Hamill

This could shoot Matt Hamill back on track, as well as pay great dividends to Elliot Marshall if he wins. Both men are recognizable, and hungry. Fans would get a kick out of this fight, another "FOTN" candidate.

Dan Miller vs. Jason MacDonald

Great test for both men. Miller has tons of potential, and MacDonald is always dangerous, should an exciting fight.

Main Card

Before I start lets take into consideration this is one week before UFC 100, one of this biggest events in UFC history, and it is only a Fight Night!

Ben Saunders vs. Anthony Johnson

Two young stars, both men are exciting fighters.

Anthony Johnson is an explosive striker, and a dominant wrestler. He has all the tools to be a UFC champion in a couple years. This fight will be his toughest test yet.

Ben Saunders is a TUF 6 alum. His last fight had everyone remenising of Anderson Silva. He too has tons of potential, and could hold gold in the next couple years.

This fight should be an exciting one, and most likely won't last three rounds!

Junie Browning vs. Jim Miller

Great matchup!

My boy Jim Miller is a beast. I know he has a fight coming up with Gray Maynard, a win over him will catapult him into contention. But with Dana so in love with "Luny" Junie, he'd be glad to put this fight on.

Junie is an ever improving fighter, he does have the tools to be great, but does he have the mental stability? This fight would be great for Junie, it's a great competitor, and with a win, he could be thrown into the middle of the LW field.

Great fight for everyone!

Amir Sadollah vs. C.B. Dollaway (3?)

Yes a third fight (or second since the fight on the show technically doesn't count)!

These two fought for the T.U.F 7 crown, and Amir dominated. But since that fight C.B has vastly improved! While Amir has had numerous injuries.

C.B. has fought twice since their last fight, beating Jesse Taylor and Mike Massenzio, both in the first round. I know some may say this is unappealing, but I think this fight has potential.

Amir Sadollah has had bad luck (putting it mildly) lately. He has had two scheduled fight with Nick Cantone, but was forced to pull out of both due to injury. He should be 100% healed up by this time, and ready to fight. Why not throw him in there with a good fight, and someone he is confident he can beat?

It would also appeal to fans who are eager to see Amir in action!

Denis Kang vs. Chris Leben

Co-main event fight!

Denis Kang is the man the UFC signed in hopes he would one day challenge Anderson Silva. But was beaten by Alan Belcher, which derailed those plans quickly. Denis is still a dangerous fighter, and could benefit from this fight.

Chris Leben is a well known, and for the most part like-able fighter. He should coming off his suspension, and is a northwest fighter. Fans would be excited to see him fight again.

Kang/Leben, sounds good doesn't it?

Main Event

Nate Diaz vs. Joe Lauzon

Great fight between two LW submission machines.

Nate Diaz is a great fighter, and is extremely dangerous. He has great submission skills, and is comfortable in almost any position. Young, at 23 years old, he has the potential to be the 155 pound king one day.

Joe Lauzon is a popular fighter, with the skills to match. He is also dangerous, and comfortable in almost any position. He too has the skills to be the 155 pound king one day.

Did that sound the same? Yes! They are very close, and this fight has classic potential! Almost a given "Submission Of The Night" Winner.

Honorable Mentions

(Also known as fights that didn't make the cut)

Brian Stann vs. Steve Cantwell 3

and

Kendall Grove vs. Nate Quarry

I am trying to get a string of these Joe Silva for a day articles going, but if no one else is picking it up, I will continue!

Thanks for reading!

Feel free to leave comments, nice ones only!

What To Expect From UFC 95!!

Yes, it's that time again! Enjoy!

Expect Diego Sanchez to look extremely good in his fight with Joe Stevenson.

Expect their fight to be either long and end in a split decision, or be short and end in a TKO. Either way expect Diego Sanchez to be the winner.

Expect Dan Hardy to look impressive in his fight. Expect the crowd to be loud as hell while he's walking out.

Expect Nate Marquardt to win in the first round and then in his interview call out Anderson Silva for a rematch.

Expect Wilson Gouveia to be cut after his loss.

Expect Chael Sonnen and Demian Maia to get fight of the night honors. Expect Chael Sonnen to shock most people and win this fight.

Expect to see Marquardt/Sonnen, or Marquardt/Maia. (Catch my drift?)

Expect Kos to KO Paulo Thiago, and then we all remember his last fight. Poor Yoshiyuki Yoshida!

Expect to see Kos face Mike Swick or Marcus Davis next.

Expect Paul Kelly and Troy Mandaloniz's fight to aired during the broadcast. Expect Junior Dos Santos to win by UD. By UD, I mean Utter-Destruction.

Expect UFC 95 to be worth your money! (.....)

Expect people to think, "He knows UFC 95 is free right?"

Expect three people to totally disagree and say my articles are boring. (You know who you are.)

Expect UFC 96 to be shoved down our throats, in hopes of people seeing the advertisement enough times to buy it.

Expect about 50-plus UFC 100 articles to happen in the next two months! Two of them mine!

Expect UFC 99 to feature Big Nog and Randy fighting. Against each other? Maybe!

Expect a great night of fights on Spike!

Expect!

I mean...Enjoy! (It's been a long day.)

Random Thoughts Vol.2

Kenny Florian is flying to Canada to train with Georges St-Pierre for his upcoming fight with B.J. Penn. I know all the Penn fans are going to joke about him being greased up. Get over it!

Joe Lauzon recently said he wants fights Nate Diaz and Hermes Franca. I'd love to see Diaz/Lauzon at UFN 19!

The following are my predictions for the UFC 100 main card

Three title fights

Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves

Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida/Quinton Jackson, if he wins his fight at UFC 96.

B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian

Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin

Antonio Rodrigo Noguwiera vs. Mirko Cro Cop (My Wild Card pick)

Strike Force + ProElite fighters=Dana White crying himself to sleep. The UFC screwed up big time. They could've used all of those fighters. Fans know they had the money to purchase them, so why didn't they?

Some of these fighters are Jake Shields, Robbie Lawler, Gina Carano, and Nick Diaz. The UFC could've made it so no other organization is even close to them. Now they have Strike Force nipping at their heels.

World Extreme Cagefighting cut its welterweight division, and added a Flyweight one. This was a smart move, as they only had around three good welterweights anyway. Now the WEC can build 125-pound stars. If they get lucky and find a 125-pound Anderson Silva, they could setup a superfight with Miguel Torres.

Frank Shamrock is rumored to be fighting Nick Diaz on April 11th. This could be a good fight, I'll take Diaz by TKO.

Ken Shamrock vs. Tank Abbott? Why? SMH!

Here are some random fights I'd like to see happen in 2009

Anthony Johnson vs. Carlos Condit

Brock Larson vs. Jon Fitch

Cain Velasquez vs. Bobby Lashley (Wild Card match)

Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida

Jim Miller vs. Joe Lauzon

Jon Jones vs. Steve Cantwell

Thiago Silva vs. Wanderlei Silva

Nate Marquardt vs. Dan Henderson

Ben Saunders vs. Dustin Hazelett

Lyoto Machida vs. Quinton Jackson

Another UFC 94 Article

So I'm late, but as the saying goes, "Better late than never!"

After pitching in five bucks to order UFC 94 on my friends 65 inch HD TV. I settled down on the blue bean bag chair on the ground. Patiently waiting for the mega-event to start. After making a small wager with my brother (20 dollars) on the GSP/BJ Penn fight (of course I went with GSP) the event started.

Nate Diaz/Clay Guida, this fight had excitement written all over it. But I was left thinking man, it wasn't what I wanted it to be. It was a good fight, but not like I'd expected. So I chalked it up, and moved on.

I was extremely anxious to see Karo back in action. But again, I was left feeling unsatisfied. He got dominated the first round, but came back midway through the second to secure the victory. I was glad to see him win, but not pleased in the way he did it.

Then came my upset fight, I predicted Jon Jones was going to beat Stephan Bonnar. Although my friends looked at my like I was crazy, I was right.

Jon Jones is as old as me, and has a TON of potential. He is going to be a real problem if he keeps working hard and improving. He dominated Stephan Bonnar the whole fight. This fight actually met my expectations.

Then came the fight I was sure was gonna make it to a decision. Lyoto Machida/Thiago Silva.

It started was I thought, but ended surprisingly! Lyoto reminded us of what he can do. As soon as the fight was over I was reminded of the Lyoto Machida that savagely knocked Rich Franklin out.

It made me a Lyoto Machida fan for life. I've always liked him as a fighter, now I'm officially a fan. Let's hope he gets his shot!

Then it was the main-event, the "Biggest" fight in UFC history. St.Pierre/Penn II. We were all anxious and ready for it to start.

It went just how I seen it going. GSP dismantling BJ Penn in four rounds. Just as I Expected (What To Expect From UFC 94) go ahead, look at it.

GSP proved he is an elite fighter, and all this fight did was make me want to see Silva/St.Pierre.

To all those BJ Penn fan-boys who say the Vaseline helped GSP win. I've got this to say, "Shut the F*** Up!!" (Pardon my french)

That Vaseline did not do anything, BJ was getting throttled, he was nowhere near a submission, you are just using that as an excuse. Get a life, BJ Penn is a great 155 pound fighter, and an average 170 pounder.

Granted the corner man should be punished, but the Vaseline had NO effect on the outcome. BJ just needs an excuse why he got man-handled. Stop cryin' like a lil' baby.

This pay per view was average, I got my money worth (only paying five bucks, 10 if you include pizza money) and I wasn't disappointed. I was just a little unsatisfied!

Random Thoughts

Was it me or did the Steelers look like they paid the referee's again? J/K I'm a bitter Seahawks fan! Congrats Pittsburgh...

Jon Jones 205 pound champion 2012? Anyone? He does have the potential!

Stephan Bonnar was always average in my eyes, now he's a permanent gate-keeper.

Machida/Evans and St.Pierre/Alves as the UFC 100 headliners? Sounds good to me. Maybe throw Penn/Florian in?

I read the article about BJ Penn retiring.... All I have to say is,"WOW!" He lost to a great fighter at a higher weight class, why would he retire? He's not past his prime, he just not in the same class as GSP. He'll be ok after he KO's Ken-Flo.

Thiago Silva got KTFO! I was left thinking, "Good God Almighty! They Killed Him!" (In my best Jim Ross voice.)

Well that's all for me. Thanks for reading!

What to Expect from UFC 94

You knew it was coming, and here it is. This is what I expect from UFC 94:

Expect Georges St. Pierre to beat BJ Penn in a four-round war.

Expect Georges St. Pierre's next fight to be at UFC 100 against Thiago Alves.

Expect BJ Penn to officially be done competing at welterweight.

Expect BJ's next opponent to be Kenny Florian at UFC 99.

Expect Lyoto Machida to eke out another decision win.

Expect Machida to finally get his title shot.

Expect Thiago Silva to be extremely frustrated by Lyoto's fighting style.

Expect Stephan Bonnar to lose in his return.

Expect Jon Jones to get a higher-profile fighter in his next bout.

Expect Karo Parysian to impress in his return. Look for a second-round KO.

Expect Nick Diaz to submit Clay Guida in the second round.

Expect Nick Diaz to win submission of the night honors.

Expect Clay Guida to beat up Nick in the first two rounds.

Expect Jon Fitch to send a message in his fight. That message will be "F*** You, Dana!!"

Expect three people to disagree with me completely. One of those be my usual hater (no names)!

Expect Dana to announce UFC 98's main event to be Lesnar/Mir II, although we all knew it was.

Expect Carlos Condit to be in the crowd. (Condit/Kampmann at UFN 18!!!)

Expect Manny Gamburyan to lose by another first-round KO. He'll last longer than his previous bout.

Expect Matt Arroyo to submit Dan Cramer in the third round.

Expect GSP to be "Not Impressed By BJ's Performance!" Just kidding, but I love that quote.

QUICK RANDOM THOUGHTS

Is it me or is anyone else getting angry at Amir Sadollah?

UFN 17 went from awesome to average in one week.

Condit is now in the UFC!!!! Is anyone else as stoked as me?

UFC 100 is July 11, 2009. I'm glad they didn't do the whole Fourth of July idea. I'm a pyro and a UFC fan! I'd be torn!

Cerrone/Varner II! That fight was awesome. That lump on Cerrone's head was HUGE!

Jens Pulver, please retire. No disrespect, but you're done, my friend.

Urijah Faber looked impressive, but again, Jens is way past his prime.

If WEC is going to most likely cut their welterweight division, why not bring in a women's division?

Fedor/Barnett? Fedor actually looked human in that Arvloski fight. Then he snapped back into super-human mode and KO'd him.

Arvloski/Buentello II anyone?

Dan Lauzon needs to come into the UFC. I think he's a beast.

Garcia/Brown should be a great fight. As for the card, the jury is still out.

Matt Linland got destroyed by Vitor Belfort. It looks like he wouldn't have done so great against Anderson Silva.

GO CARDINALS!!!!

I'm Outro

That's all for now. Thanks for reading!

UFC 93: Random Thoughts

So I'm guessing about 95 percent of you watched UFC 93, right? So you know the results, right?

Oh well...Here are my thoughts on UFC 93!

Denis Kang looked impressive, until he got submitted. He'll most likely get the under-card treatment his next fight.

Alan Belcher, despite what he thinks, will NEVER be ready for a title shot.

Marcus Davis and Chris Lytle put on a good show, but I hoped for more. It did get "co-fight of the night" honors, but I was still unsatisfied.

Rousimar Palhares looked average in his bout against J.Horn. I was "Not Impressed by his performance!" Jeremy Horn is still a scrappy fighter, who would be trouble for anybody.

Mark "Sylvester Stallone" Coleman really put on a good performance. Even though he gassed about two minutes into the first round, he stuck it out and almost stole this fight. Was it just me or did he look like Sylvester Stallone bald? He even sounded like him in his interview!

Shogun Rua looked bad, so bad that I'm thinking Chuck might beat him at UFC 97. He gassed about as quick as Coleman did, which would be normal if Coleman wasn't 44 years old! Coleman/Rua III anybody?

Dan Henderson looked good last night, he managed to pull out a split decision win. They had a three round somewhat bloody war! (Not bragging or anything.)

Hendo utilized his wrestling, and his chin in this fight. Now he's one win away from his re-match with Anderson Silva, but first he must escape Michael Bisping.

Rich Franklin looked good as well, he has nothing to be ashamed of. He took it to Hendo, but it didn't go in his favor. Not like he wanted to coach on TUF 9 anyways right? Seriously, who wanted to see Franklin/Silva 3?

Ace will be back at UFC 100 fighting at 205, like he wants to. He's not past his prime, or washed up, he just got beat (arguably).

Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg didn't annoy me too much last night. But I think Goldie wanted to make out with that Johnny Cash Tattoo.

Did that judge that scored Franklin/Henderson 30-27 do crack before sitting down? I was watching the same fight he was and had it 29-28 Hendo.

UFC 97 Liddell/Rua? Hmm...I'll take Liddell third round TKO. Yeah I said it!

UFC 96 Jackson/Jardine? How does this make any sense? Jackson has nothing to gain, excpet this makes him the "legit" no.1 contender, and he'll still be able to fight at UFC 100! Smart yet stupid move. If Jardine pulls the upset will he get a shot? No, because him and Rashad won't fight each-other.

I'll take Jackson by first round MURDER!!!

UFC 93 was pretty satisfying, but I'm glad I only paid $5 for it (bunch of friends). I don't think it was worth 50!

In the words of Ron Burgundy," I'm...Ron Burgundy?"

What to Expect from UFC 93

You knew it was coming!!!

ENJOY!!!

Expect Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin to have a three-round war.

Expect it to be a bloody fight, and very exciting.

Expect Shogun Rua to look amazing.

Expect to realize he only looks amazing because he's fighting a 44-year-old man, whose last fight was in 2006 against FEDOR!!!!!!

Expect Shogun's next opponent to be Chuck Liddell.

Expect Mark Coleman to retire for good!

Expect Denis Kang to look good in his UFC debut.

Expect Marcus Davis and Chris Lytle to be fight of the night, or knockout of the night!

Expect Jeremy Horn to win, and Dana look pissed off.

Expect three undercard fights to be shown on T.V.

Expect five face shots of GSP and BJ Penn. Each!

Expect to see thousands of drunk MMA fighter wannabes yelling,"YAHHH!"

Expect Michael Bisping to be interviewed and say he doesn't care who wins.

Expect Dana White to make a "huge" announcement.

Expect three of my expectations to be wrong, but not too far off.

Expect Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg to bicker more than usual.

Expect Mike Goldberg to say,"Can he finish?" at least five times.

Expect Joe Rogan to shriek like a little girl at least twice.

Expect another "What to Expect" article in two weeks.

In the words of Evan Sherls, '' Peace and a bottle of hair grease, I'm out!"

BREAKING NEWS!!! Sean Is Back with More Random MMA News!

So I'm back from my hiatus, just to bring you news (that you probably already knew about). None the less, enjoy!!!

Word on the streets is that Dave Kaplan is dropping to 145...And he wants Faber, Pulver, Brown, and Garcia. Is it me, or is this dude nuts?

Looks like "Loony" Junie Browning will make his second appearance in the octagon at UFN 18. Along with Ryan Bader. No word is Efrain will be there as well, but I hope so.

David "The Crow" Loiseau is officially back in the octagon! He'll make his comeback at UFC 97. I know this story is old, but I'm excited!!! Anderson Silva/David Loiseau? Wait! I'm getting tired, let's move on.

Serra/Hughes is rumored to be happening May 23. Thank God! Maybe after they can both hug and retire!

Roger Huerta stated he's not entirely done fighting; he plans to comeback to the octagon after he's done. He's in the movie adaptation of Tekken! Let's hope he comes back, let's hope his acting skills are better than Randy Couture's! Huerta also stated he'd like his final fight in the octagon to be at UFC 97.

Keith Jardine/Luis Cane? I am not impressed by this performance!! (In my best GSP voice.)

WEC just added a flyweight division (125 pounds), it should make for exciting fights! Carlos Condit vs. Brock Larson II is scheduled for Mar., 1, 2009. That should be awesome!

The Unborn is the worst movie ever, don't waste your money! (Just thought I'd throw that in there.)

Getty Images is still terrible, unless you want 100's of pictures from an awards show. Or UFC 60...

Michael Bisping picked Rich Franklin to win at UFC 93. Let's hope he doesn't; I don't want to see Franklin/Silva 3. For Rich's sake.

Andrei Arvloski is insane! He tried calling out Fedor! Does he not know Fedor eats small children for lunch? (J/K)

Updates

It's rumored that Chuck Liddell's next opponent is Forrest Griffin!?! Don't know anymore than what was posted, but it makes no sense at all.

Rampage/Rashad is the rumored UFC 100 main-event! I'm not mad about that at all, other than the fact the LHW division will be put on hold until July!!!!

More Updates as the day goes by!!

That is all for now! In the words of Samuel L Jackson, " BYE MUTHA F*****!"

Whats New? Random MMA News!!!

While browsing the Internet at work today, I came across some MMA news that I thought I should share. Enjoy!!!

Dana White must read my articles! Dustin Hazelett is going to face Ben Saunders at UFC 96. A fight that I wished for in '09 (See my latest article " Odd Yet Interesting Fights: My 2009 MMA Wish-List vol.1).

Josh Koscheck's next opponent is Paulo Thiago. Sounds like he'd be good, right?

My boy Jim Miller is set to take on Gray Maynard at UFC 96. Dana must love me!

UFC 96 has four rumored fights so far: Hazelett/Saunders, Vera/Patt, Gonzaga/Carwin, and Jim Miller/Gray Maynard. Sounds good so far.

Wanderlei Silva is open to a middleweight drop. Before he does that he would like a re-match with Chuck Liddell.

UFC 95 is all but guaranteed to be airing on Spike T.V. As long as the money is right!

WEC announced that Miguel Torres and Brian Bowles is likely to happen in April. Can't wait for that one.

Dean Lister was cut by the UFC, thanks a lot Yushin Okami!

Carlos Condit recently did an interview posted on www.mmaweekly.com, go ahead and read it. Is it just me or does he seem ready for a jump to the UFC? In the interview he commented on: a possible re-match with Brock Larson, A re-match with Jake Shields(YES!!!), and the lack of contenders in the WEC's welterweight division. Go read it people!!

Shinya Aoki called out B.J. Penn. Let's hope this one goes down, I highly doubt it though.

DANA, if your reading this right now, GET IT DONE!!!!

Your welcome MMA fans.

In the words of Jim Rome,"I Am Out!"
