Texans Lose in Classic Texan Style

Sage Rosenfels had the job locked up. Houston fans were optimistic about thier season with three more home games in a row after defeating the Indianapolis Colts.

Then that all came crashing down with a game only the Houston Texans could find a way to lose. Steve Slaton was running wild and the Texans were just a field goal away from putting the game out of reach. It seems so simple; you ride your horse and drain the clock.

But that’s not what Gary Kubiak envisioned. The coach instead let the journeyman backup run a bootleg and what happened next was just a spiral effect, which led to another loss for the Texans.

Yes, blame Sage Rosenfels. But remember he is a backup and remember who put him in that position.

One week after Kubiak’s breakdown on Jacksonville's fake punt and two weeks after the Tennessee Titans rushed to the line of the scrimmage on an obvious challenge and Kubiak left the red flag in his pocket.

We have to wonder if Kubiak is anything more than a great offensive coordinator. There can’t be coaching breakdowns like we have witnessed week after week.

With a nucleous of Mario Williams and Demeco Ryans, it’s pretty easy to connect the dots on whose name our city will be begging for come December.

Mr. McNair, please pass over your blank check to Coach Cowher. The Honeymoon is over. Our city demands a winner.
