Gilbert Arenas Goes Down...Again!

Gilbert Arenas is having an arthroscopic procedure that will cause him to miss training camp entirely as well as the first month of the season. This is his third knee surgery within the last 17 months.

To top it off, he missed 69 games last season, and was sidelined in the playoffs because he was doing more bad than good for his ball club. All of this brings me to conclusion that Gilbert Arenas is not a franchise player in the NBA, and is not a leader either.

Gilbert chose to have this surgery three months into the summer, which appears to be quite selfish if you ask me. Had he had this surgery at the beginning of the summer, he would have had ample time for rehab and been ready for training camp. All of which proves that Gilbert has little regard for his team and their success.

Mr. Arenas also lacks class. He with full intention disregarded Jose Calderon as an All-Star-caliber point guard in the league, while he was on the bench with his career average of five assists a game that Jose was doubling on a daily basis.

Gilbert is not even the leader of his team—rather, Antwan Jamison carries this team emotionally while Gilbert is warming the bench for him with his designer suits.

The Wizards invested $110 million to their point guard this offseason—a point guard whom neglects his team and franchise by running with their money. Gilbert Arenas is no doubt one of the great scorers in this league. However, by no means is he a role model in the community, a team player or a franchise player.
