NFL Schedule: More Games?!

What is the league doing!? I don't know if everyone know but the NFL wants to extend the regular season to 19 weeks, I think this is... nuts!!! This is coming to you from a guy who doesn't leave his house on sundays and watches every single game on the NFL Sunday Ticket, seriously I have faught with my parents every single week so I can stay home and watch football.

This "extending the regular season" is something that would really affect the way fans watch football. I know its just 2 more weeks... but the beauty of football is that the season is so short so intense, that every game is worth a lot. A 3 game losing streak is something that can destroy a season, this is not baseball, I mean there are teams in baseball that go in 10 or 11 game losing streak and still make the playoffs, so that means that if you loose a game in May or June it doesn't matter that much, in football it's not that way. You loose a game in September, November or any other month and you may be out of the playoff race, in football you have to play every game at you best, with every thing you got, so its a more much competitive season.

If they expand the season, I think that you as a fan would not kill yourself that much to watch every single game because they wouldn't be so important, " so you loose a game... you still have 18 weeks... don't worry" I mean this would suck!!!. Plus teams that have already clinched their divisions or playoff spots would star resting their players in week 15.... ( I know they do it already but if you only have 2 weeks left you don't want to risk your players) and you would have to watch 4 boring weeks of football, I really don't want to see Sorgi playing 5 weeks ina year... or watching Jabbar Gaffney be the #1 receiver for Matt Cassel 5 weeks a year!!!. Man... that would really bum me out...

And a little extra reason why I don't want this: I'm a Raider fan... 19 weeks? I would cry!(Don't worry JaMarcus I still believe un you!!)

Why the Indianapolis Colts Will Win the Super Bowl

Yes, I know: the Pats are the best team ever. They are unstoppable. You can say tons of great and true things about Brady's team—but let us remember that there is a team that always puts up a good fight against the Pats.

Indeed, I am talking about the reigning champions of the NFL: The Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are playing the Chargers this week, a team who had difficulties beating the Titans at home. This should be an easy one for Tony Dungy's team.

This is a team that improved a lot from last season to this one—as hard as is to believe, last year they were the worst defense against the run, allowing 173 ypg. Can you believe they won the Super Bowl?

Now, with the defensive player of the year Bob Sanders aboard, these 2007 Colts have something they didn't have last season: an ability to stop the run. The were ranked #1 in overall defense this season.

Obviously we know about the explosive and smart offense that Peytonn Manning runs here—he yet again put up +4000 yds and +30 TDs, and that without their star reciever and Manning's favorite target Marvin Harrison, who is expected to be back for the playoffs.

However it honestly seemed like there were five Marvins on the field for the Colts this year, between pro-bowl reciever Reggie Wayne, tight end Dallas Clark, reciever Anthony Gonzalez, and runningback Joseph Addai.

I mean, I could go on and on about these recievers—but the point is: imagine all of these guys plus marvin Harrison. That is going to be a fun-to-watch offense.

If the Colts play the Patriots (and I think they'll play), the Colts are going to spread the recievers just like the Pats do, and I think they'll be as effective as Brady's five WR set—because let's face it, the Pats' CBs won't match the Colts' WR. The Colts also have a guy called Joseph Addai in the back field, and if the Indy offensive line can push and beat the New England d-Line, Addai will be able to run it on them all day long.

The Colts also have a great set of DBs, and even though they are not the best in the league, they'll play the Pats in their usual cover 2 defense and will play them close. Not to suggest that these Pats wide recievers aren't a threat, because they have proven it each and every week of the season—but the Colts' DBs will keep this close and physical.

The difficult side of this for the Colts is that they are playing in Foxborough, and man is that a tough stadium to lay in. Brady is just as good in the cold as in warmer climates, but Manning is getting used to this, so I think they will go to New England and beat them in a close one.

From there I think it's an easy run for the Lombardi trophy, because I really don't believe that the Cowboys or Packers or whomever they play have it in them to beat these red hot Colts.

Because after beating the Pats, who isn't red hot?
