Chris Jericho's Mystery Partner: Figuring It Out

Who could Chris Jericho's mystery partner be? Apparently no one on the internet knows.
Heck I don't think his partner even knows.
Chris Jericho is in a predicament. His Partner is injured and he is about to defend his Unified Tag Team Championships against a formidable advisory in Legacy.
He needs a partner, but who wants to be Chris Jericho's partner. As we all have seen, if you have been watching WWe, Jericho has not been so popular with the boys in the back.
The big question of the day though is this "Has Jericho burned too many bridges with his egotistical antics or has he just been toying with us all along"?
This article will breakdown all of the possibilities that are being discussed right now as to who Chris Jericho's mystery partner will be at the Night Of Champions.
With so many discussions going it is the least that can be done to help weed out all the rumors and even possibly create some new ones.
So many names are being thrown around, but no one has given good reason as to why. Hopefully this article will give some of those reasons without branching into pure speculating rumor.
Please take this journey with me as we embark on a long tedious journey through ten of the most prominent players in this debacle of a storyline.
If you think I'm wrong or missing someone let me know and tell me why. I won't be offended and I will actually commend those who do because that is what is is all about.
This is for discussion and that is what I hope comes of this is that people will read it and give their thoughts and then after Night Of Champions return and see if I got it right. If I get it right it's sweet and I've learned how to read the writers. If i get it wrong, maybe you proved me wrong, or maybe the WWe has me hooked again looking into the wondrous mystery of the swerve.
Curiosity might have killed the cat, but in this article curiosity fuels the discussion.
Begin Slideshow

The Current State Of WWE Tag Team Wrestling

As of right now, there are three dominant tag team forces.

The Colons (Carlito and Primo) are the Unified Tag Team Champions at this point. They have yet to be defeated in a Title match and are both second-generation wrestlers as well as formidable singles competitors.

Legacy (Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase or "Priceless" as I refer to them) are also generationed. Cody is second generation and Ted is a third generation superstar. They won the Raw Tag Team Titles in their first match as a Tag Team. Now they are 2/3's of Legacy.

The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith, along with Natalya) are also generation start. Kidd is not a generational star, but he is as close as it comes as he was the last student of "The Best There Was, The Best There Is, And The Best There Ever Will Be," Bret Hart.

These three teams are going to make for some of the greatest feuds in Tag Team history.

Then there are the two teams that have done nothing of late in this feuding tale.

The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) who are both prodigies of Kurt Angle and have both proven themselves as formidable opponents.

Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad) is compiled of two street thugs with decent skill in the ring and the ability to be speedy then have a huge big man shut you up.

The only problem is that these two Smackdown brand teams have done nothing at all with the Newly Unified Titles.

I've only seen Benjamin and Haas wrestle as a tag team twice in the past three months and Cryme Tyme only seems to do Internet spots as of late.

The saving grace of this style of wrestling right now are Legacy and The Hart Dynasty. If Legacy wins at The Bash then The Hart Dynasty will be right there waiting for their shot at gold.

This feud would be monumental and prove to the world audience that Tag Team wrestling is not dead just yet.

Hell, maybe this will even revive the enjoyment of being in a Tag Team, or should I even say the enjoyment of watching a Tag Team Title match.

Hopefully, Vince will not do the stupid thing, like he did with the Cruiserweight Division, and get rid of the whole program.

The Hardcore Revolution: A New Faction and The Build To Judgment Day

To start this weeks Revolution off I must say I have been impressed by all three shows lately.

Usually, I love Raw or ECW and hate Smackdown, but lately I have been infatuated with ECW, a little slacked by some Raw story lines, and enthralled with Smackdown.

It's going to be a thought provoking, but short one this time so lets get right into the meat of the subjects at hand!

Points Of Convo

1. A New Hart Foundation, Good Idea Or Bad?

I think that this is the greatest thing to happen to wrestling since Sliced Bread No. 2, sorry for my silly pun, but I had to do it. If you think this is bad, then you really need to change your viewing habits and leave wrestling to the big leaguers.

I am so proud of all three of these legends in the making. Tyson Kidd has the look and the skill to be the next Bret Hart and if they ever use Natalya to her full potential, she could be the best Diva ever seen in the business.

Now David Hart Smith, or DH Smith, depending on how you know him, is a freaking beast. Is it just me or did he beef up a lot from his Raw debut? These three will be ruling ECW for the next years.

Look for Tyson Kidd to be the next challenger for Christian's Gold, once Christian bests Swagger at Judgment Day that is.

2. What Build Has Been The Worst Going Into Judgment Day?

In my opinion, it is the Edge/Jeff Hardy build. The other two major title matches have a great build. The Christian/Swagger match looks like it might be the best build of the three cause it is just about the two of them: the cocky Champ and the overzealous challenger.

It might not be as epic as the Show/Cena match or the Orton/Batista match, but it has a good agenda with an ex-champ who has a blood lust and a current Champ who see's himself as the face of the brand.

The Orton/Batista build has been corrupted by the whole Shane McMahon stuff, but it at least has been brought back into play. And the whole segment of Raw this week sells it big time for the PPV.

All the Edge/Hardy build has for it is that it has progressed the Jericho/Mysterio storyline. Edge has looked horribly weak and Hardy just doesn't have the mic work yet to be a top tier guy.

He is the top face in the company's mind with Taker out, but come on there just has not been any real sustenance to this story line. No reason for hatred, no reason for wanting or needing the belt. It just feels weak to me.

Feel free to disagree or tell me your opinions of the matters at hand. Or if you feel like I have missed a Point of Conversation then let me know what you think I should discuss.

Like always: "Long Live ECW and Long Live The Extreme."

The Hardcore Revolution: The Aftermath of WrestleMania and the Draft

Welcome to the third installment of The Hardcore Revolution!

We will talk about WrestleMania, The Draft, and talk about some interesting points of conversation.

WrestleMania 25 has come and passed and we have become apart of history by witnessing one of the greatest if not the greatest match of WresleMania history, HBK v. The Undertaker.

We have also witnessed Santino Marella Dressed in Drag, John Bradshaw Layfield retiring, Two New Champions, and the worst main event in WrestleMania history!

The draft has also come and passed and the world of the WWe has been thrown into chaos, but that is not necessarily bad. There were good moves and bad moves. But over all it spread the talent around evenly and every brand came out of it for the better. The biggest issues with the draft that I had are my points of conversation this column.

Points Of Conversation

1. What impact will Vladimir Kozlov have on ECW?

Will he become a face of the brand or will he make the top stars look foolish.
My beef with Kozlov is that the WWe uses him as a battering ram and then put him on a show where they already have a competitor like that in Mark Henry.

His first match on ECW was a squash match, but he doesn’t need any more squash matches. He needs to face top competitors and give more strong competition to the already stacked main event card.

2. Why is The Great Khali the "Punjabi Playboy?"

Is the WWe really making him another Viscera? This is just terrible and is a poor way to deal with a competitor that once was champion of a brand. They need to make him dominant again or just let him go, cause his skills in the ring are very rough!

3. Bring back Ron Killings or K-Kwik and get rid of R-Truth.

Come on, this is just pathetic. His rhymes are weak and he is not interesting.
They need to let him work on his ring work and get less rusty and put him against better competition.

But the fact he came back from TNA pretty much seals the fate that he will not be successful again in the WWe.

4. Does anyone else think it was stupid to split up “Biscuits and Gravy?"

Cause Festus can’t even wrestle unless the bell is rung. They either need to remove the gimmick or give him a new handler. And for Jesse they need to figure out what they are going to use him as.

His single skills are sub par and unless he changes personas he will not be in the WWe come 2010.

5. I don’t think Primo Colon deserves to be a Unified Tag Team Champion.

Carlito is deserving and is over due the title of champion, but come on folks, Primo can’t even get the crowd excited. He’s flat in the ring and his finisher is pretty much Carlito’s.

6. Why is Sim Snuka still in the WWe?

He needs to either go back to the developmentals or come up with a new persona and a flashy finisher to get over, cause right now he is just dead weight in the WWe.

Enough ranting lets get down to the effects of the Draft and what I like to call the Brand Awards!!

Brand Awards!!

Best GM

And The Winner Is: Tiffany of ECW

Reason: There is no Drama and there is no use of Ebonics, just straightforward mic work. That’s all you need to earn my respect.

Best Announce Team

And The Winners Are: Jim Ross and Todd Grisham of Smackdown

Reason: It would have been ECW, but Josh Matthews just is not good enough. There is no talk of puppies, there is on the ball ring work calling and JR just makes it fun to watch Smackdown.

Best Divas

And The Winner Is: Smackdown

Reason: There is no Diva’s Championship. That belt is just horrifying. Also they have the best ring workers in Michelle McCool and Gail Kim. As well as the most flexible dive Melina. Oh my, I need to start watching more Smackdown.

Best Depth

And The Winner Is: ECW

Reason: No more HORNSWOGLE, as well as the fact that almost every character gets used on a weekly basis for the show. Pretty much two-thirds of the brand is top tier quality and they just drafted DH Smith and Natalya so look for a new Hart Foundation.

This will be a new part of The Hardcore Revolution I'll do each time.
I will start giving the Top 5 superstars on each brand (well my top 5 on each brand).

RAW
- HHH
- Randy Orton
- Batista (4)
- Matt Hardy
- The Big Show (7)
(HBK would be 3, but he is out And Mr. Kennedy would be 6, but he is also out)

Smackdown
- The Undertaker
- Chris Jericho
- Edge
- CM Punk
- Rey Mysterio

ECW
- Christian
- Jack Swagger
- Evan Bourne
- Tyson Kidd
- Shane “ Hurricane” Helms

Until next time "Long Live The Revolution and Long Live The Extreme"!!!

The Hardcore Revolution: ECW, WrestleMania, And More

Welcome back to the second column of "The Hardcore Revolution."

With WrestleMania just around the corner, ECW is forming its campaign for a great night on April 5.

The "Money In The Bank” Ladder Match is going to be phenomenal, with Christian, Mark Henry, and Finlay all vying for that precious briefcase.

Henry, the World's Strongest Man, is going to have a field day in this match. Only gravity can stop him. Finlay is going to have fun, too, with his shillelagh in hand and Hornswoggle running loose.

Christian is my front-runner to take the case. Former ECW Champion CM Punk also is in the match, but he shouldn't pose much of a threat.

As of right now, there is no ECW Championship match on the card, so we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

There are a lot of guys in ECW who still deserve a shot at the title, but look for Evan Bourne or Tyson Kid to get a shot at current ECW Champ Jack Swagger at WrestleMania.

ECW will also have a chance to hold the Unified Tag Team Titles when World Tag Team Champs The Miz and John Morrison take on WWE Tag Team title holders Carlito and Primo Colon. If The Miz and Morrison come out on top, it would show yet again why ECW is the best brand on TV.

ECW's biggest worry, however, comes a few short days after WrestleMania, when Raw hosts the WWE draft on April 13. We could lose an entire roster and gain an entirely new one in a single event.

ECW is just fine now, but I would enjoy one or two new tag teams to spice up the place. What I definitely don't want is to lose any of the current performers.

Too bad it's Vince McMahon's show to run.

One performer I won't miss is The Boogeyman. I wish him the best of luck in all in his future endeavors, but WWE does not need anymore 1990-style gimmick wrestlers.

Give us technical, extremely skilled wrestlers and we, the fans, will make every live event and house show a sellout.

Until next time, Long Live ECW and Long Live The Extreme!

ECW: "The Hardcore Revolution" Column 1

Welcome to the first column of ECW: "The Hardcore Revolution"!

This is so that I can make believers out of everyone that ECW is the greatest brand on WWE TV.

(As a side note I will be putting every superstar name in bold for those of you who only want to read about a specific ECW superstar.)

Not only does it have the best competitors, but it is the best written.

For starters lets look at the Last episode of ECW on 2/24/09.

Wow wow wow. Is it just me or is Tyson Kidd going to be an amazing superstar in the future and is already one of the best technical wrestlers I've seen in a while?

I hope to God that they bring up DH Smith to ECW after WrestleMania and begin to push Kidd, Smith, and Natalya as the "New Hart Foundation".

Kidd has an amazing look to him and is so cocky in the ring that it makes you want to watch him. He reminds me of a young Chris Jericho with a whole lot of Owen Hart.

His match vs the Jobber was great. Hi controlled the whole time and showed off alot of technical and submission skills. He also had an aura of cockiness that drew me to him. Also the way Natalya leads him to the ring is beautiful.

This kid is money and makes ECW 10 times better.

Next we have Jack Swagger. Who ever thought to push him needs a raise and a half, heck give him an executive job.

Swagger is the face of ECW for now and that is a good thing. He needs some work on his mic skills, but he has the charisma to keep you interested. His ring work is flawless and he is a beast.

I loved the angle they threw into the Christian match where Swagger just worked over that arm.

He's got the brains, the muscle, and the skill. I would say he is untouchable.

I'm so happy they did not take the title from Swagger and it seems they'll have him walk in to WrestleMania with the belt.

As I just mentioned Christian I'll go over him next.

What a good move by WWE creative to bring Christian to ECW. I know a lot of people think it is stupid, but where else is he a good fit. There is too much going on at the other shows and a good amount of their names are not even making the ring.

Christian came in like a bat out of hell and is starting to dwindle a bit, but he still looks really strong. His skill and charisma are keystones to this brand.

ECW needed a big name star to come in and help them breeze past the other brands and Finlay/Henry just will not do that for you.

Even though he lost to Swagger this week he still has did a lot of good and showed alot of heart.

The downfall of this match is the fact that Christian only has one big move and could not hit it to get the win, where as Swagger is just a beast of a man and can hit alot of power moves to put the hurt on you.

Overall, Christian is going to get back into the swing of things in the big leagues in ECW and will develop his game to be one of the bet in the business.

The best thing about ECW over all the other brands is the fact that they use almost every superstar on the roster.

The only ones not on this Episode were Finlay, Hornswoggle, Ricky Ortiz, The Miz & Morrison (who in their defense competed on Raw) and Evan Bourne (who is still out on injury).

Mark Henry showed why he is the worlds strongest man against DJ Gabriel this week. This was an over all great match with DJ making some good attempts, but just falling short at the hands of Henry.

DJ Gabriel is another great figure that ECW has and he has a good feel to him. His look is definite potential and he has a great manager in Alicia Fox.

The biggest part of this last episode is the fact that Tommy Dreamer won a match!

I thought for a second that Vince McMahon was going to completely continue to dump on him till June, but this gives me hope that he might yet have another title reign in him.

Paul Burchil looked good and is playing his feud with The Boogeyman well.

I thought a while back he had the ability to be the Intercontinental Champion on Raw, but yet again another good talent looked over for no reason.

Burchil and his sister Katie Lea are a great fit on ECW. Not only is it a third couple group on the brand, but their tenacity is really a driving force in their matches. A true homage to the old school.

Overall ECW is becoming the driving force of the WWE and though they do not have a HBK, a HHH, or a Taker they still have great talent that would be top tier on any of the other brands.

So in final thought Long Live ECW and Long live The Extreme!

                                                                                          The Extreme Columnist

                                                                                                         - Joshua Logan

My WrestleMania XXV Wishlist

Well, it is only a little bit over a month away.

I cannot believe that WrestleMania XXV is only seven weeks away on April 5.

We are starting to see matches develop, and I for one have a list of dream matches I want to see.

"The Dead Man" Undertaker vs.. "The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels.

- With this match I want to see alot of action and some crazy spots. I would love for Michaels to be so close to ending the streak only for Taker to kick out and just destroy him for the finish.

"Lionheart" Chris Jericho vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin w/ Ric Flair and other legends in his corner.

- The man who became the first undisputed champion by beating both Austin and The Rock in the same night against the most notable superstar of all time. This would be crazy if it actually happens. Jericho would definetely lose to the stunner, but Austin would most likely get hit by a code breaker and fall victim to the Walls of Jericho.

A ECW Rules Fatal Four-Way between "The Worlds Strongest Man" Mark Henry vs. "The Hardcore Icon" Tommy Dreamer vs. "The All-American American" Jack Swagger vs. "The Instant Classic" Christain for the ECW Championship.

- This would be the most amazing match in History. I would completely lose it if this happens especially if they would rub Dreamer to win at the greatest wrestling even in history.

WWE Champion Triple H w/ The McMahon family in his corner vs. "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton w/ Priceless in his.

- I want Orton to win this match so bad, but you know that H will destroy him. The best end to this would be McMahon turning on H and giving Orton the best push ever and McMahon being the final member of legacy.

The Money In The Bank Ladder Match is always money and I want to see Vladimir Kozlov, The Big Show, The Brian Kendrick, Mr. Kennedy, CM Punk, The Miz, and John Morrison.

- This will not happen this way at all. More then likely it will be Kofi with one or two other undeserving stars taking a proven wrestlers spot.

The match I really really want to see if John Cena vs Hulk Hogan.

- Thw WWe would never let this happen, one because Hogan is poison to the company and two it would show even more that Cena is the new Hogan. It would be the greatest match though cause the spots would be huge.

The State Of ECW

What is ECW thinking?

They have begun to build what looks to be one of the best ECW WrestleMania matches ever and now it's all going to be ruined.

I love the fact that Christian is on ECW and I believe he is going to be a huge factor for it's popularity, but why make a title match between him and Swagger before WrestleMania?

This is going to kill a build between Christian and Swagger if that is what WrestleMania holds for ECW!

Christian walking into WrestleMania as the champion and retaining is a weird idea, because no one will think he is going to lose.

He's got a new contract and the WWE are going to rub his feet a little bit.

If Christian walks into WrestleMania as the challenger, you've got gold.

Christian has two clean wins over Swagger, someone who has not seen defeat since coming into the WWE. It is likely that Christian will get his third win in three straight weeks and add a new title to his repertoire.

The only way that this match will possibly be a good thing is if there is mass interference and many more bids for the title.

Miz and Morrison need to get involved if Christian wins or they need to be the reason he loses.

Isn't Tommy Dreamer retiring if he doesn't win the ECW title by Wrestlemania?

He is going to be a key factor in the up and coming weeks.

Even if it is done right and there is a title change with the right people involved going into WrestleMania, the best thing right now for ECW is to have a Christian Vs. Jack Swagger WrestleManiam

Sadly, it doesn't look like this reporter is going to get his way anytime soon.

No Way Out '09 Predictions

It's only a few days away and I am so excited to see what the next step in the Road To Wrestlemania has to offer us.

So, let's look at the card matches:

First Match of the night: ECW Championship Match

Jack Swagger (Champion) vs Finlay

This match has potential to be a good match, but it's build has been way too small. Finlay is deserving of this match. I will admit that and I know it is going to have a good amount of technical work.

My only fear is that this match will not do ECW justice and will have a gimmick where Hornswoggle and the Irish Foreign Object get used. This will ruin the match and upset the majority of fans looking forward to a good match.

Finlay will not win as they are going to build Swagger/Christian for Wrestlemania.

Thank God for that as Mania will be amazing if that happens!

Winner and STILL Champion: Jack Swagger

Second Match of the night: No Holds Barred Match

Randy Orton vs Shame McMahon

If done right this will be by far Shane McMahon's best match in the WWe. Look for outside interference from Priceless and maybe a special appearence by a slew of McMahons (the rest of the family). Big spots will probably be an RKO countering a top rope move and look for Shane O' Mac's elbow onto an announce table.

Winner: Randy Orton

Third match and by far the worse match of the night: Raw Elimitation Chamber for the World Heavyweight championship.

John Cena (Champion) vs Chris Jericho vs Rey Mysterio vs Kane vs Mike Knox vs Kofi Kingston

Poorly planned match, enough said. Look for two or three big spots involving Rey Mysterio and Cena. The match will run longer than needed and will probably not meet your any expectations.

Winner and STILL Champion: John Cena

Fourth match: All Or Nothing Match

Shawn Michaels vs JBL

This will set the tone for the entire show. I hope it is not one of the first two matches, but knowing the WWe it probably will be. Look for JBL to have a strong showing being very dominant for the beginning then having HBK show why he is the Showstopper by taking the show to the next level.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Now for the Cou De Gras: Smackdown Elimination Chamber for the WWE Champiomship

Edge (Champion) vs Undertaker vs Big Show vs Triple H vs Jeff Hardy vs Vladimir Kozlov

I hope it starts off Taker/Show, but might be HHH/Kozlov. There are no words to explain how crazy this match is going to be.

Taker wants the gold and Edge wants revenge on Taker.

HHH wants to be on top and will stop at nothing to get there.

Hardy wants his title back.

Kozlov is there just to demand some better competition.

The Big Show wants a shot at the title and he's got it. He will do anything and everything to incompasitate everyone.

The cage will be filled with carnage by the end of this match and someone will be bleeding by the end. This match will build Wrestlemania. Hardy will not win because it will be a Hardy vs Hardy Wrestlemania. Kozlov wont win as well as Big Show wont win.

Taker, Edge, and HHH will be the last three in the cage with Taker most likely being screwed out of yet another title reign.

Winner and NEW Champion: HHH

Raw Elimination Chamber Breakdown

This is by far the worst Elimination Chamber the WWE has ever put together.

The Match in no way compares to Smackdown's and ECW seems to be more interesting at it's houseshows then this storyline.

Raw is the flagship show! So why then are three of their top guys, Shawn Michaels, JBL, and CM Punk, not in the chamber.

I know, I know the All or Nothing Storyline, but come on.

Ok, let's look at who is in it though. John Cena is walking in the Champ and the challengers are Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Mike Knox, and Kofi Kingston.

What is the Raw writing team thinking by putting this match together? Is this an attempt to early push young talents who aren't ready, or is it an attempt to sink their primetime show into horrible ratings?

Kofi Kingston and Mike Knox have no chance in hell at winning it.

Kofi is too inexperienced and I do not think he has proved himself as a top shelf competitor. He is a mid-carder at the most.

Yes he has held the Intercontinental and Tag Team Titles, but has he proven himself worthy of a World Heavyweight Title match?

I really like the choice of Knox though and the way they have built him for the match. Knox is a beast. He is going to do some damage to Kofi and Rey, but still does not deserve to be in the match.

Kane should get a push here and win, but he is still too caught up in the Rey storyline which should have ended a long long time ago and will most likely be eliminated by him.

Mike Knox along with Kane are going to be pushed into the Tag Team realm to give it more competition so neither of them are in my running to get the belt.

Jericho is going to be used at Wrestlemania verses some Legend or celebrity. So goodbye Jericho Title reign going into Wrestlemania. What a waste! Jericho is the hardest worker and by far the best wrestler on Raw with Punk being a close second. How can we pass up Jericho again and again for a title reign?

Rey Mysterio and John Cena are going to have a huge night.

Too bad for Mysterio, he will not sell out Wrestlemania. This means Rey Rey ain't gonna win the title. The 619 superstar will make himself known throughout the match, be the reason to watch it, even buy the pay per view, but won't be walking out the champion.

So sad, too bad.

Cena walks in dominant, takes a few minutes of beatings, walks out even more dominant and on the hot street to Wrestlemania.

Here is how the match is going to go.

It will start with either Knox and Kofi or Knox and Mysterio. The reason is to build the elimination of Knox once the other light-heavyweight enters.

After Knox is eliminated Kane will then enter and begin his destruction. Look for a lot of high flying moves from Mysterio off of the structures inside as well as Kane using everything and anything to inflict pain.

Cena will be the next as aid for the light-heavyweights and to give Kane some competition. Kane will have removed Kofi by this point and it will be Kane, Mysterio, and Cena.

This will be an exciting part of the match with a lot of Cena, Kane action going into the next big push when Jericho will be the last one in and will go right for Cena giving Kane and Mysterio the spotlight.

Look for Jericho to get an upper hand on Cena, but get disposed of after all of Cena's signatures and ending with the Attitude Adjustment (or the FU for those who don't know it got changed to better suit the PG image the WWe is looking for).

Mysterio will pin Kane after an incredibly high-risk 619 that will be talked about for the next 20 years.

This will lead to the inevitable Mysterio-Cena paring that everyone wants to see, especially me. It will be a good, fast-paced end with the finish coming after Mysterio gets caught after Cena cathes Mysterio's high risk move and feat of strength it into the Attitude Adjustment.

Winner and Still Champion: John Cena

Overall this is a bad and poorly built match, with some good spots, but will pale in comparison to the rest of the show.

This match is too easy to read and will not have any major surprises that will make you want to watch Raw the day after.
