Andruw Jones' Guide to Ruining a Career

After speaking with Andruw Jones, I have learned the secrets to ruining a great baseball career.

Andruw will turn 32 in April and he has already amassed some impresive career numbers. He has 371 HRs and 1131 RBIs. If it wasnt for the last two seasons, you might think this was a player who was on his way to the Hall of Fame.

While Jones has had some years when he has hit for a relatively high average he has never been known as a great hitter for average. Still, Jones kept his average respectable hitting around the .260 to .270 range. It wasnt that long ago that Jones was still an amazing defender in center field and having productive seasons at the plate. in 2006 he hit .262 with 41 HRs and 129 RBIs. Then everything went wrong. In 2007 he hit .222 with 26 HRs and 94 RBIs, followed by hitting .158 with 3HRs and 14 RBIs is 2008 in LA. So how did he do it?...
Begin Slideshow

NL East Preview

Sure the NL central looked good last year, but overall the NL East is the best division in the National League. 2009 shouldnt be any different, as once again the NL East looks the most ballanced and competitive division in the National League. Of course theres the World Championship Phillies, and the Mets are supposed to be good (but Ill believe it when I see it). However, there are some other talented and potentially dangerous teams in this division. Namely Im talking about the Marlins and Braves (sorry Nationals). So lets take a look at how the NL East could end up at the end of the season...
Begin Slideshow

Georgia Tech Basketball Thin This Year

Paul Hewitt's Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets face an unfamiliar situation this season. Instead of having a bench full of players, the Yellow Jackets have a relatively thin group of starters.

The Jackets lost three big time contributing seniors last year in Anthony Morrow, Jeremis Smith, and Matt Causey. The Jackets also lost their top sixth man recently when senior RaSean Dickey signed a pro basketball contract in Ukraine.

While this may not be a great year for Tech basketball, the Yellow Jackets will be a dangerous team as always—and there is hope for the future. Tech has two promising sophomores in PG Moe Miller and F Gani Lawal. Coach Hewitt also has a few good upperclassmen in D'Andre Bell, Lewis Clinch, and Zack Peacock.

Tech is also looking forward to bringing in a very talented and promising recruiting class for the 2009-2010 season.
