Tom Brady's Talk With Bill Bellicheck

Brady: Hey Coach! How you doin' this mornin'?

Bellicheck: Hey Tom, I'm good...You ready for full-padded practice?

Brady: Uhh, that's the thing...I'm kind of wondering if I can have the day off?

Bellicheck: Sure! Why not? You're my little SuperBowl Boy. Go head and have some fun. But, don't forget to study some plays while you're not at practice, OK?

Brady: Of course, Sir. Since you want me to study some plays, did you get to make me another copy of the Jets' training camp practices?

Bellicheck: I sure did. Why wouldn't I? That's all we know how to do. Meet me in my office.

Brett Favre Saga: (Un)Official Reply to Favre's Reinstatment Letter

Hey, Brett,

It's good to hear from you, I will be granting your reinstatement. You will now be the Packers' head water boy. You don't expect us to take a risk on you breaking your bones out there on the field do you? Just play it safe and give the guys their water when they get off the field.

Isn't this great news? Who gets paid $12 million to be a water boy? I know who...YOU DO, Mr. Favre! Lucky son of a gun, you.

Well, Iraq was pretty fun...Osi and I got to shoot a few camels, we even picked up a few "Where's Osama?" shirts at a local liquor store there. Gosh, it was great! Drew (Brees) came down with the flu there. I think his beef curry was rotten or something. The oddest thing about Iraq was that the local 7-11 stores are operated by white folks! It seemed as if the US and Iraq had it all backwards.

Well, I better end this letter here.. It's nice to have you back in the league, Mr. Favre.

Oh, and I was just with Adrian Peterson's mom, I'll text you the recipe for the beef stew you were asking for.

Mr. Roger Goodell

NFL's Top 10: Quarterbacks to watch for in 2008

Here's a list of the Top 10 QB's to watch for this upcoming season.

1.) Brett Favre -

With all the Brett Favre speculation going on, it's hard to say where he's gonna land, especially with Goodell and the whole Packers organization involved. Whether it's the Jets or the Bucs, you can be assured that Favre will come out firing.

Fueled by the Packers situation, Favre is easily the top QB to watch for in 2008 (*IF reinstated*).

2.) Eli Manning -

He comes in on this list at No. 2 simply on a "Free Pass". He's the defending champ's QB, who's to say that he wouldn't be amped up for a new season after winning a Super Bowl?.

3.) Tom Brady -

As much as I dislike this guy, you can't deny that there is talent in that throwing arm of his. The sour taste of a "Story Book" season getting destroyed by a WILD-CARD team is still in Brady's mouth. Look for big numbers this season, but nowhere near 50 TDs this time.

4.) Tavaris Jackson -

Although Jackson could only muster up nine TDs with 12 INTs last season, he reminds me of the healthy prime time Donovan McNabb or Daunte Culpepper. He's talented when rushed out of the pocket, and has the ability to put some power behind his throws.

5.) Peyton Manning -

Expect the same from this guy. He just doesn't know when to stop. He must like those trips to Hawaii every year.

6.) Donovan McNabb -

I expect McNabb to be close to his 2005 form. He's really been out of the scene with his sports hernia, tendinitis issues, etc. This year, he claims to be feeling a lot better about his previous injuries. I am a Philadelphia hopeful, and I'd love to see the Eagles back as a top contender, lead by McNabb.

7.) Drew Brees -

With Shockey now in the mix, expect opposing defense's to leave a few spot's open on the field for Brees & Co. This team was a playoff contender without Shockey, imagine them now.

8.) David Garrard -

18 TD with only three INT?. Yes, this guy is good. The transition from Leftwich to Garrard is paying off, and that will continue this upcoming season.

9.) Vince Young -

Even with being in a tough division, Young has still made this Titans offense one to be reckoned with. 17 INT's is a tough thing to get over, but we will see better number's come game day. Whether it's on the ground or in the air, Vince Young has proved that he can get it done.

10.) Ben Roethlisberger -

"BIG BEN" has proven himself time and time again. He's got a Super Bowl in his rookie season under his belt, and you can expect him to put up more gaudy numbers to follow his 32 TD season.

**HONORABLE MENTION/LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST**

Tony Romo

Philip Rivers

JaMarcus Russell

Derek Anderson

Matt Hasselbeck

Jason Campbell

Trent Edwards

Aaron Rodgers

NFL Quarterbacks: Who's the Worst of the Worst?

This is an article to cheer everyone up and feel better about their team's current quarterback situation. Truth is, you should be happy your team's starter isn't:

RYAN LEAF—Career numbers: 14 TDs, 36 INTs, 50.00 QB rating. (And this guy is a quarterback coach now?...You gotta be shittin' me.)

JP LOSMAN—Career numbers: 31 TDs, 29 INTs, 77.3 QB rating. (Thank God for Trent Edwards.)

JAY CUTLER—Career numbers: 29 TDs, 19 INTs, 88.0 QB rating.

REX GROSSMAN—Career numbers: 31 TDs, 33 INTs, 70.9 QB rating. (May be just as bad as Ryan Leaf.)

JOEY HARRINGTON—Career numbers: 79 TDs, 85 INTs, 69.4 QB rating (I'd put Bill Parcells in as my quarterback before Harrington even got to sip Gatorade on the sidelines.)

If your starting quarterback is listed on here, I hope your team finds a replacement soon!

2008 NFL Season: Top 10 Cornerback Tandems

Here is the list of the top 10 Cornerback Tandems to watch for in this upcoming 2008 season.

As much as this hurts to not have Philadelphia at the No. 1 spot, I must make an unbiased opinion. So here goes.

1) San Diego Chargers' Cromartie and Jammer

2) Baltimore Ravens Rolle and McAlister

3) Indianapolis Colts' Jackson and Hayden

4) Philadelphia Eagles' Samuel and Brown

5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Barber and Buchanon

6) Denver Broncos' Bailey and Bly

7) Dallas Cowboys' Newman and Henry

8) Seattle Seahawks' Trufant and Jennings

9) Carolina Panthers' Lucas and Marshall

10) Pittsburgh Steelers' Taylor and Townsend

Jason Taylor/Jeremy Shockey NFC Trades, Which Team Got the Better Player?

As everyone know's...

Jason Taylor has been traded from Miami to Washington and

Jeremy Shockey has been traded from NYG to New Orleans

Which team got the better player?

Lets start with Jeremy Shockey...

He was at one point one of the best tight ends that the NFL projected...as we seen in last years Super Bowl, it's now a different story..Seeing that he was injured lets give him the benefit of the doubt that he's still in good playing form...so here's his last season stats...

Rec-57 / Yds-619 / Avg 10.9 / Td's 3

Lets take a look at Tight Ends within the same caliber such as Antonio Gates. Gates triples Shockey's Td's, had 28 more receptions, 365 more yards and actually made a good asset to the Chargers team.

We don't know if Shockey can contribute those type of numbers to the New Orleans Saints. With McAllister, Bush, Colston, Patten, and now Shockey on the same roster opposing defenses will have their hand's full.

Can Shockey be in his "prime time" Giants form with this New Orleans Offense?

Now to Jason Taylor...

This Defensive End has been wanting out of Miami for quite some time now, and with last seasons Dolphins performance, who can blame him? The Redskins make an awesome move to get the dominant Defensive End.

Last Season Jason Taylor put up 56 Tackles, 11 Sacks, four Forced Fumbles, and one Interception. Those stats from last season mirror the stats of the retired Michael Strahan, and everyone knows Michael Strahan had a great season.

Depending where Shockey will line up, it'll be a good showdown when the Redskins take on the Saints Sept. 14.

To sum it all up, it's clear as day here that the Redskins definitely got the better player in this situation. Not taking anything away from Jeremy Shockey, BUT Jason Taylor in my eyes is the better contributor.

Reasons Why The Eagles Will Be a Top Contender In The NFC

Ok, I have seen everybody talking about their teams and why they will be big contenders in the season and in the playoffs.

Here are some of my thoughts on Philly.

First off, let's take a look at our playoff history.

We are 7-5 in the playoffs since 2001 and are 17-17 in playoff history. This club is obviously no stranger to NFC Championship games, let alone the playoffs. Andy Reid has done this team well.

Secondly, look at what we have on both sides of the ball.

Offense

While we lack HUGE star power (Tomlinson, Moss, Owens, Chad Johnson etc.), we still have:

A healthy Donovan McNabb, a great running back in Brian Westbrook, a good tight end in L.J. Smith, a hell of an offensive line in Tra Thomas, Todd Herremans, Jamaal Jackson, Shawn Andrews, and Jon Runyan, an underestimated speedy Kevin Curtis, a young, flashy DeSean Jackson, and a great target when called upon in Reggie Brown.

Defense

While losing Jevon Kearse and Takeo Spikes may hurt...we still have an impressive defense, with:

A young LB corps of Omar Gaither, Chris Gocong, and Stewart Bradley; the scariest (in my opinion) secondary in Brian Dawkins, Sheldon Brown, Quintin Mikell, and the INT king Asante Samuel; and D-linemen Trent Cole, Mike Patterson, Broderick Bunkley, and Juqua Parker are good enough to stand their ground.

Last but not least, thanks to our division rivals, the NY Giants, everyone can now see that the impossible/improbable is now probable.

You don't need a bunch of stars on your team to be Super Bowl Champs, all you need is to have a team that knows each other and knows how to make those key plays in the clutch. THAT'S IT.

If you don't believe me, look at Eli Manning managing to get out of a sack and bombing it to David Tyree, which put them in position to take over the game.

Eli Manning isn't a Tom Brady and David Tyree is no where near Randy Moss. But they knew how to make key plays in the clutch.

Philly knows how to do just that. If you don't believe me on this one, then go back to McNabb's 14-second scramble and completed pass to Freddie Mitchell vs. Dallas a few seasons ago.

Clutch plays, not stars.

That's all that matters.
