EA Sports Challenge: NASCAR '08

After starting the online PlayStation 2 NASCAR '08, me and a few of my boys chose to play it cool—we made a bet: Five seasons, all 36 races, points count, no Bud Shoot Out or All-Star race.

As of right now, we have seven people (the rest are computer animated). We have Cody, Bart, Ken, David, Mike, Sarah, and me.

Cody is racing as Martin Truex, Jr. (No. 1 car) , Bart is racing as Kurt Busch (No. 2 car) , Ken is racing as Denny Hamlin (No. 11 car), David is racing as Jeff Gordon (No. 24 car), Mike is racing as Bobby Labonte (No. 43 car), Sarah is racing as Dale Jarrett (No. 44 car), and I'm racing as Kyle Petty (No. 45 car).

So here are the first season's stats:

Cody: won no races, two top-fives, six top-tens, and finished third in points.

Bart: won two races, had three top-fives, three top-tens, but finished 22nd in points due to his not finishing many races.

Ken: won one race, two top-fives, three top-tens, and finished tenth in points.

David: won no races, two top-fives (including one runner-up at Bristol), three top-tens, and finished ninth in points.

Mike: won four races, six top-fives (including three runner-up finishes at Kansas, Lowe's, and Dover), a total of eight top-ten finishes, but still managed to finish second in points.

Sarah: won no races, got no top-fives, one top-ten, finished 43rd in points.

Me: I won one race, got two top-fives, seven top-tens, and finished sixth in points.

I will keep you updated once the next season is over.

East Hartford Devils: Champions

The East Hartford Devils took their first championship in five seasons. This is the eighth championship for the team.

The team's MVP, Quarterback, Wide Receiver Michael Voyer, and Chris Smith will be leaving the team at the end of this year, and this will truly kill this team, Mike has been the quarterback since 2003 when they won the championship for the fifth time ever.

East Hartford sports has been terrible since 2001, but the Devils have made some hope for this town. Mike has announced he will be leaving permanently, and will not return for any team. He quoted by saying "I want to have fun, yet this sport doesn't pay money, and to be honest I can't afford to work and not get paid, at least I'm an honest athlete and say, 'yes, it's all about money' (silly laugh) I love this team, but it's time to say 'good bye'".

Chris left to join the team that lost in the bowl, he said, "Mike is my main guy, so if I can't have him as a leader, it's time to go somewhere I can step up and be a leader."

Both players leave with more than two championships under their belt and said they wish the Devils the best.

By the way, the final score was:

East Hartford Devils- 35

Hartford Tiger- 24
