BCS Guys Consider This...

With the BCS all shook up this year, I think it is finally time to bring in some sort of a playoff system. There is too much uncertainty about which teams should go to which bowl, I believe I have come up with a way to solve everything.

The BCS should be on a point ranking system where the teams that beat quality teams should get more credibility than the teams that only play two or three decent teams a year. The system should have a ranking system as followed:

One point for every game won.

Two points if the team beats a team ranked in the top 50.

Three points if the team beats a team in the top 25.

Four points if the team blows out any team by at least 45 points.

Five points if the team beats a team ranked in the top 10.

Six points if the team beats a team ranked No. 1.

By using a type of system like the one above, the BCS could add the points accumulated in the system to rank the teams. This system could be used to have the best teams at the end of the season.

After the regular season is over, the top 10 ranked teams on this system therefore should go into a 10-team playoff. The No. 1 ranked team would play the No. 10 ranked team and so on and so forth.

This way we can have the best teams at the end of the season and have a playoff for the national championship and actually have the best teams playing for the championship.

The 5-0 Titans Are A Force to Be Reckoned With

The Tennessee Titans are 5-0 and have the top-ranked defense in the league. And yet nobody believes they are all that good. Well, bud, if you're one of those nonbelievers, I've got news for you: They are that good, and here is why.

1. The Entire Tennessee Titans Defense

They are just an outstanding group of guys. With the leadership of guys like Keith Bulluck, it seems like they can do no wrong. Albert Haynesworth, Kyle Vanden Bosch, and Jevon Kearse give the Titans the strong inside presence they need.

2. Coach Jeff Fisher

What can I say? The guy is a genius. He has taken a wild card team and transformed them into a championship-caliber one. Great job, coach!

3. The duo of Chris Johnson and LenDale White

Man, this is the type of duo every team in the NFL wishes it could acquire. The fastest man in the NFL with Johnson and a bruising running back with White. White does the beating with his size and Johnson burns them with his 4.24-second 40 speed.

4. Kerry Collins

He is the guy with the arm that has kept the offense rolling. He's completed 64-of-115 passes for 740 yards this season, with three touchdowns to show for it. Doesn't hurt that he has all the experience you could ask for in a quarterback.

5. Jim Schwartz and the coaches that have brought this hard-hitting Titans defense together

They say defense wins championships. If that is the case, the Titans are a sure-in for the Super Bowl. Keep up the good work, guys, all of the TRUE TITAN FANS appreciate everything you do.

Not enough reasons for you? Tune in and watch the Titans play the Kansas City Chiefs Oct. 19. The Titans' play is self-explanatory. Get a cold one, some Johnsonville brats, and find a good, comfortable seat, because I guarantee you will not want to miss a minute of the action.

GO TENNESSEE TITANS! THEY MAY ONLY BE 10 YEARS OLD, BUT THEY WILL BEAT YOUR TEAM ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

NASCAR: Are You Really Giving Tony Stewart That Win?

COME ON NASCAR, HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU GIVE TONY STEWART THAT WIN SUNDAY? I KNOW HE HASN'T WON IN A LONG TIME, BUT COME ON.

REGAN SMITH DOESN'T EVER GET AN OPPORTUNITY LIKE HE HAD SUNDAY IN THE AMP ENERGY 500.

HE RACED CLEANER THAN ANYONE IN THE ENTIRE FIELD. HE GAVE EVERYBODY ROOM AND IN MY BOOK EARNED A LOT OF RESPECT FROM HIS FELLOW COMPETITORS.

HE WENT TO MAKE A CLEAN PASS ON STEWART COMING TO THE FINISH. STEWART CAME DOWN ON HIM AND FORCED HIM UNDER THE YELLOW LINE. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. STEWART EVEN ADMITTED IT FOLLOWING THE RACE!

REGAN SMITH COULD HAVE STAYED IN HIS LINE AND CAUSED A 15 CAR PILE-UP AND GUESS WHO WOULD HAVE WON. PROBABLY THE LIKES OF A JOE NEMECHEK OR A KENNY WALLACE. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEEN THAT!

BUT GET REAL. HOW DO YOU TAKE A WIN AWAY FROM A GOOD OLE BOY LIKE SMITH? EVEN WORSE THAN THAT, HOW DO YOU PLACE HIM 18TH IN THE RACE?

NASCAR, REGAN SMITH DID NASCAR A HUGE FAVOR BY NOT TAKING STEWART OUT. HE SAVED JOE GIBBS AND OTHER TEAMS A LOT OF MONEY. HE ALSO SAVED THE CLEAN UP GUYS FROM HAVING TO CLEAN UP A HUGE MESS AFTER THE RACE AND KEPT THE CHAMPIONSHIP DREAMS OF TONY 'SMOKE' STEWART ALIVE.

GO REGAN SMITH, YOU JUST EARNED YOURSELF A FAN.

The Race for the Chase: Let the Games Begin!

With the last race before the chase just days away, the question is when the chase begins will Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards take each other out of the chase?

I think not, that is, until it gets down to the wire with just a handful of races left. I'm predicting now that they will both stay away from each other until one runs into the other. As soon as that happens, let the games begin.

It will be a beatin' and bangin' bash all the way to Homestead. But there is one fellow to look out for in the rear view mirror: Jimmie Johnson. Yeah, I said it, it looks like he is peaking at the right time. As the two-time defending champion he knows what it takes.

But the real sleeper is Kevin Harvick. With a few consistent top 10 finishes over the last few weeks, it looks like that team may have a say so in the Race for the Chase. The deciding factor may even be the pit crews. Who knows?

Man, I can’t wait. Let the games begin!
