Brett Favre Mulling a Comeback?

Yeesh. Like a bad line out of “There’s Something About Mary”, Brett…Fav-re has been rumored to be considering a return to the NFL. If this does happen, it’s possible he could be traded to a team like Carolina seeking a rent-a-quarterback, despite the fact that this may be news to Carolina. Unfortunately for the Packers, the two [...]

Men's Golf: Tiger Woods “Puts the Ball in the Hole” Despite Knee Injury

It’s not often that we use some of sports’ greatest adjectives to describe a golfer.

I mean, the “whack the ball, go to the ball” mentality is something we all toy with in our heads, and most people who don’t play golf wouldn’t call the sport “athletic.”

Sure it takes work; in fact, it’s by far one of the most frustrating games in all of sports. It turns even the most reverent of men into cussing, angry, club-throwing animals. The mechanics of the swing are so intricate, that even the slightest variation in motion can cause a complete breakdown in your result. If you’ve played, you know how futile your efforts can be to hit the ball straight, let alone with any distance.

Now, imagine trying to do that on one leg.

Tiger Woods is the uncontested number one golfer on the planet. Try and deny it, and you’re met with an unimaginable barrage of statistics that forces you to cry “uncle” quicker than a Hogan choke hold.

If you missed the highlights of the third round of the U.S. Open today, you have quite possibly missed the best sports moment this year. Seriously, I know sports writers use those terms all the time. “Epic”, “Extraordinary”, “Unbelievable”…seems like those words get tossed around quite a bit. But when I saw the video of Tiger’s performance, I was stunned.

It was a literal “hey mouth, meet floor” moment. The proof is in the video. Tiger, still in obvious pain from a knee injury, more ridiculous shots in one day than most men can hope to make in their entire career.

What’s even more miraculous is the way in which Tiger played it down during his post round press conference. He admitted the knee caused him trouble, but he said he was “just trying to put the ball in the hole.”

So, let me sum it up for you. Tiger is a freak. He lives up to his childhood nickname, and I am, honest to God, going to watch as much of tomorrow’s U.S. Open as I possibly can. That’s right…I said it.

I’m going to watch golf on T.V.

I just got the chills.

Milton Bradley: “I’m Tired of People Bringing Me Down”

The sultan of American board games continued his feud with Kansas City Royals broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre, who made some comments that Milton Bradley considered offensive.

If this isn’t the pot calling the kettle black, I’m not sure what is.

Bradley is known for his frequent temper tantrums and run-ins with other players. He has been in at least one altercation with a fan, throwing a water bottle after it landed in the outfield grass. He also tore his ACL last season while with the Padres during an incident with an umpire. To his credit (I guess) I’ve seen the video, as has the rest of America, and it looks like Bradley may have been provoked. The umpire in question was suspended five games, and he did not ump any post-season matchups.

Alright, enough with the Cliff Notes. Fast forward to Wednesday night:

After the Rangers victory against the Royals, Bradley was apparently watching his own at-bat when he heard the comments made by Lefebvre (for the record, I have no idea what was actually said, and several searches on YouTube and Veoh yielded nothing).

Well, upon hearing these comments, Bradley told the media the next day that he wanted to ‘introduce’ himself to Ryan Lefebvre.

According to the articles mentioned above, Bradley was pretty emotional during a press conference:

"I’m tired of people bringing me down, it wears on you. I love you guys, all you guys. I’m strong, but I’m not that strong. All I want to do is play baseball and make a better life for my kid than I had."

Listen, I’m not saying I have a theoretical problem with what Milton Bradley’s reaction. Most people would feel the same way. It’s just really strange. He sort of reminds me of that one friend in your circle who pulls pranks all the time. You know the type: putting worms in your food, making fun of you in public, that sort of thing.

Well, what happens when you finally get him back? He gets all crazy emotional and starts filling your head with the reasons why calling him names has psychological repercussions. Come on Milton, I know people probably called you Monopoly Guy all the time, constantly pushing you and telling you they were “Sorry!”, but this is unbelievable. You crying in a press conference carries about as much weight as Rafael Palmiero’s Congressional testimony.

Terrell Owens and the Pee Cup: Soon To Be the Best of Friends

Hopefully, Terrell Owens doesn’t have any trouble peeing under pressure. After failing to appear at a random drug test, in what he called a “miscommunication”, Owens was placed on the league’s “probable-cause” list.

Really? You mean this has everything to do with a missed test, and is not at all related to the fact that...
