Cristiano Ronaldo Is Number One in Champions League Final

Cristiano Ronaldo is number one! Has football hit an all time low?

The Champions league final has eliminated all doubt. Manchester United is the best team in Europe and Cristiano Ronaldo must surely be considered the best player in the world.

The question again is whether the EPL has hit a high or if European football has lost its way.

Are we really expected to believe that Cristiano's header, ten minutes or so of objective football, often pointless passes, lack of control and of course yet another missed penalty are supposed to represent as good as it gets?

Perhaps with the real Ronaldo spending more of his efforts on the babes or whatevers, Ronaldinho chasing after the mighty buck instead of the ball, Kaka on a break from excellence, the eternally injured Messi and the star Riquelme hidden in a closet... all we have left is Cristiano.

Is it that football has progressed or has the bar been lowered?

Manchester United vs Chelsea had its moments of great football and Cristiano did appear to show signs of talent on rare occasions. Drugba was efficient and so were many others. However no team nor player truly entertained.

There was a lack of continued constructive football with the match often degenerating into scrappy or something reminiscent of a third division brawl.

All that can save the sport now is the FIFA world club championship where other brands of football will come up against that which currently represents Europe.

We can only hope and pray that everyone will be allowed to play with specific emphasis on Juan Roman Riquelme who might just be the last reminder of what football really looks like currently playing.

Fan Violence: Should Glasgow Rangers Be Banned?

Yet another sad display by Rangers' fans has done damage to our beautiful game once more.

Zenit displayed great skill in dispatching the lackluster and violent Glasgow team.

Having lost against the Russians' violence was the only other thing for the Rangers to resort to on and off the field.

There were rough tackles, which did little to deter Zenit from winning 2-0 and dominating most the match with beautiful football.

What followed was a display of the only thing Rangers are famous for which is senseless violence and mayhem.

This team has little to contribute to the sport other than the ugly side and therefore should be banned from international football.

They could remain playing in the Scottish league because this sort of thing there seems to be widely accepted, but they have no place in with the rest of the civilised football community.

Lets make a move to keep our beloved sport beautiful.
