New York Rangers Fight Back But Fall to Pittsburgh Penguins in OT

After staving off elimination on Thursday, the New York Rangers lost to the Penguins 3-2 in overtime.

Almost nobody can say this was unexpected. Though the Rangers did make a good comeback, they didn't have what it takes to take to force a game six.

Trailing 2-0 after two periods of play, two young players got the Rangers a chance. Lauri Korpikoposki and Nigel Dawes scored with less than four minutes into the third.

After that it was mainly the Penguins on the offsense, but the Rangers played excellent defense for almost the remainder of the game.

What killed them was that Chris Drury gave a high stick, which caused a four minute power play and dragged on to OT.

During the power play, the Rangers couldn't mount any offense which led to a game winning goal.

Oh well, there's always next year.

Wanted: Leader in the Mets' Clubhouse

Teams need leaders. In football nine times out of ten, it's the quarterback. In ice hockey, it's the captain.

In baseball almost all teams have some type of leader. But not the Mets.

Everyone is looking to David Wright to be the new leader. News flash—he's not a leader. At least not now.

The team doesn't need someone who says, "Okay, we had a bad day," like Willie Randolph does constantly.

The Mets need someone to yell at the players and go nuts about the mental mistakes that occur far too often.

I really miss Lo Duca. He was one of the best leaders.

I'm glad Wagner has started to speak up and talk about Perez's terrible job on Wednesday. The thing is, he's not an every day player.

Willie needs to put some type of swagger into the team's momentum. Otherwise they are going to play just like last year.
