Fantasy Football Update: Ben Roethlisberger Out For Week 12, and More

Due to headaches stemming from his concussion he received in Week 11, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not compete in Week 12 's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

FOX's Jay Glazer has reported, via Twitter, that Roethlisberger will miss this week's action due to exercise-induced headaches, which has prompted the coaching staff to give him an extra week for recovery.

Given the effects concussions have had on other stars such as Clinton Portis and Brian Westbrook this season, the Pittsburgh management chose to be extra careful with their franchise quarterback.

Fantasy Perspective: This is bad news for the Pittsburgh passing offense, which was slated for a big day against a very vulnerable Ravens pass defense. However, former third string quarterback Dennis Dixon will assume the starting duties. Back-up Charlie Batch sustained a wrist injury (out 3-6 weeks) in last week's game, forcing the second year quarterback into the role.

This move will also increase the value of Rashard Mendenhall, as he will be leaned on even more than usual, despite facing a very solid Baltimore rush defense.

Read on for other updates on player injuries around the league :

Steven Jackson Iffy For Sunday

Jackson missed three straight practices this week, and despite reporting via Twitter that his sore back is "getting better", he's still expected to be a full-blown game-time decision on Sunday.

Jackson makes for a great play (as usual) against Seattle this week, but the Rams signing of Chris Ogbonnaya off their practice squad should raise some eyebrows.

If you have an even remotely decent RB option available, we suggest sitting S-Jax this week instead of facing the possibility of him landing you a goose egg.

Julius Jones to be a Game-time Decision

We're getting behind Justin Forsett completely this week, as we don't trust Julius Jones and his bothersome injured ribs. Jones has reportedly been dealing with a bruised lung as well, and considering Forsett's solid performances the past two weeks, his role is expected to be great enough to give him solid value going forward, regardless of Jones' status.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Player Breakdowns

If you haven't had the chance, be sure to check out this week's Start/Sit column, as well as our player rankings. For quick matchup analysis, read on for Week 12 's player breakdowns:

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

QB Chad Henne: Has looked good, but Miami will run all day. **
RB Ricky Williams: Should see another big load, and Bills run defense is lousy. *****
RB Lex Hilliard: Should see more carries, but still barely a Flex play. **
WR Davone Bess: Gets a good amount of looks, but not the week to use him. **
WR Greg Camarillo: Too unreliable, and facing decent pass defense. **
WR Ted Ginn: Role isn't established, mostly only has value on returns. **
WR Brian Hartline: Only good for two catches per game, so weak play. *

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick: Looked ok last week, and Miami pass defense nothing special. **
RB Fred Jackson: Role is growing again, and Lynch is dealing with injuries. ***
RB Marshawn Lynch: Check his status, but role hasn't been great. **
WR Terrell Owens: Blew up last week, so the potential is definitely there. ***
WR Lee Evans: Has been quiet, but Fitzpatrick normally loves him. ***

Carolina Panthers @ New York Jets

QB Jake Delhomme: They should look to run the ball a ton, and he's no safe bet. **
RB DeAngelo Williams: Should be extremely active and Jets run defense has been weak. *****
RB Jonathan Stewart: Didn't do much last week, so hard to expect fireworks this week. **
WR Steve Smith: Should see a lot of the Jets top corner, but he's been on fire. ***
WR Muhsin Muhammad: Could see some looks if Smith is shut down. **

QB Mark Sanchez: Not a good option, especially with ultra-stingy Carolina pass defense. *
RB Thomas Jones: Panthers can be run on and Jones should have big workload. *****
RB Shonn Greene: Role has been small, but it's a good matchup. **
WR Jerricho Cotchery: Not a horrible play, but Carolina pass defense is very good. ***
WR Braylon Edwards: Has big-play potential, but can't love the matchup. **
TE Dustin Keller: Could be active as a dump-off guy, but low ceiling this week. **

Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals

QB Brady Quinn: Was sharp last week and Bengals pass defense has been only so-so lately. **
RB Jamal Lewis: Should get enough touches to do some damage, but matchup looks tough. **
RB Chris Jennings: Has been involved, but can't expect much against a solid defense. *
WR Mohamed Massaqoui: Suddenly Quinn's go-to guy, or just another one-game wonder? **
WR Chansi Stuckey: Still can't be relied upon, and matchup doesn't help. *
WR Josh Cribbs: Can do some serious damage with returns, and role is ok. **

QB Carson Palmer: Matthew Stafford went off against them, so his chances are good. *****
RB Bernard Scott: Value dips if Benson plays, but Browns stink against run, so solid play. ****
RB Cedric Benson: If he plays he should get some good run with a nice matchup. ***
RB Brian Leonard: Has low-end Flex value if Benson is out again. **
WR Chad Ochocinco: Could have a huge day against very spotty secondary. ****
WR Laveranues Coles: Has a low ceiling, but matchup is fantastic. ***
WR Andre Caldwell: Not a viable fantasy option. *

Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans

QB Peyton Manning: No reason to expect anything but elite numbers. *****
RB Joseph Addai: Remains very active and keeps scoring, so run with him. ****
RB Donald Brown: Doesn't have a great role, so not a good play. *
WR Reggie Wayne: Always a great play, so start him with confidence. *****
WR Pierre Garcon: Is good for some shots deep, so worth a play. ***
WR Austin Collie: Role has been weak lately, but not a bad matchup. **
TE Dallas Clark: Best tight end in football and Manning loves him. *****

QB Matt Schaub: Colts secondary is banged up, so he has a chance. ***
RB Steve Slaton: Still the starter, but role is uncertain. **
RB Chris Brown: Had the bulk of the carries last week, so has value. **
RB Ryan Moats: Didn't touch the ball last week, so not a great play. *
WR Andre Johnson: Always a must-start, but not the best match up. ****
WR Kevin Walter: Hasn't been doing much, but potential is there. **
WR David Anderson: Did well last week, and could be active underneath. **
TE James Casey: Could start working into a bigger role. **

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons

QB Josh Freeman: Falcons pass defense stinks, so he's worth a shot. ***
RB Carnell Williams: Falcons can't stop the run either, so solid play. ***
RB Derrick Ward: Bucs say they'll use all three backs, so some value here. **
RB Earnest Graham: Ditto. **
WR Antonio Bryant: Is healthy again, so has a chance at success this week. ***
WR Sammie Stroughter: Not very reliable, but has a good matchup. **
TE Kellen Winslow: Has a solid role and Falcons are terrible against tight ends. ****

QB Matt Ryan: Bucs can't stop anyone, and Ryan looked better last week. ****
RB Michael Turner: Will be a game-time decision, but too much of a risk this week. ***
RB Jason Snelling: Should be the starter, and matchup is rock solid. ****
RB Jerious Norwood: Could have a bigger role this week, but not reliable. **
WR Roddy White: Should be back to normal against weak Bucs secondary. *****
WR Michael Jenkins: Could find a big play or two against poor secondary. **
TE Tony Gonzalez: Always a solid option, especially with nice matchup. *****

Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles

QB Jason Campbell: Eagles pass defense solid last week, so not a good play. **
RB Rock Cartwright: Will get all the touches, but tough matchup. ***
WR Santana Moss: Has the potential, but has been very unreliable. **
TE Fred Davis: Is Redskins second best option, so should get some looks. **

QB Donovan McNabb: Redskins pass defense is solid, so not an elite play. ***
RB LeSean McCoy: Should get solid amount of carries, and 'Skins run D weakening. ***
WR DeSean Jackson: Tough matchup, but always a big-play threat. ***
WR Jeremy Maclin: Has been very consistent, but nothing special. ***
TE Brent Celek: A very solid TE1, but matchup isn't great. ***

Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams

QB Matt Hasselbeck: Look for Hass to bounce back against excellent matchup. ****
RB Justin Forsett: Will likely start and should have a huge role in the offense. ****
RB Julius Jones: Game-time decision and not a good bet this week. *
WR Nate Burleson: Should be fairly active in nice matchup. ****
WR TJ Housh: Has been a disappointment, but it's a good matchup. ***
TE John Carlson: Shredded them for 7/97/2 last meeting, so nice play. ****

QB Kyle Boller: Matchup isn't horrible, but he is. *
RB Steven Jackson: Should get the ball a ton. *****
WR Donnie Avery: Check his status, and is a very iffy play this week. *
WR Brandon Gibson: Should see a lot of targets, but own ceiling with Boller in. **

Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers

QB Matt Cassel: He should be very active late in the game, so not a horrible play. ***
RB Jamaal Charles: Chargers can be run on, and he has good potential. **
WR Chris Chambers: Could go off against former team. ***
WR Lance Long: Hasn't done anything lately, but could do some damage this week. **

QB Phillip Rivers: Chiefs secondary is weak, so expect big day. ****
RB LaDainian Tomlinson: Usually finds success against Chiefs, and has looked good. ****
RB Darren Sproles: Not a huge role, but useful in return leagues. **
WR Vincent Jackson: Has been quiet, but could explode this week. *****
WR Malcom Floyd: Over-hyped and very unreliable. **
TE Antonio Gates: He hasn't been great, but potential and matchup bodes well. ***

Jacksonville Jaguars @ San Francisco 49ers

QB David Garrard: 49ers can be shredded, and Garrard has looked solid. ***
RB Maurice Jones-Drew: A must-start. *****
WR Mike Sims-Walker: Always a solid play, and 49ers secondary not playing well. ****
WR Torry Holt: Hasn't scored all season, and production is dipping. **
TE Marcedes Lewis: Very unreliable role, but matchup could help. **

QB Alex Smith: Solid matchup, and Smith looked good last week. ***
RB Frank Gore: Jags can be run on, and Gore should get plenty of carries. *****
WR Michael Crabtree: Should be fairly active, and matchup is nice. ***
WR Josh Morgan: Unreliable, but Jags secondary is vulnerable to big play. **
TE Vernon Davis: Great game last week and potential is always there. *****

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

QB Jay Cutler: Minnesota pass defense can be beat, and he'll be throwing all day. ***
RB Matt Forte: He's no match for the Williams Wall. **
WR Devin Hester: Should be active with Bears throwing a ton. ***
WR Earl Bennett: Could be active, but is inconsistent. **
WR Johnny Knox: Big play ability is there, and matchup is ok. **
TE Greg Olsen: Great matchup, as Vikes stink against tight ends. ****

QB Brett Favre: Bears pass defense stinks, so expect solid numbers. *****
RB Adrian Peterson: Bears aren't horrible against the run, but he should be fine. *****
WR Sidney Rice: Could torch Chicago corners, and is absolutely on fire. *****
WR Percy Harvin: Always a solid WR3, so a solid play this week. ***
WR Bernard Berrian: Not as involved as you would like, but has a good matchup. **
TE Visanthe Shiancoe: Always a threat in the red-zone, so decent play. ***

Arizona Cardinals @ Tennessee Titans

QB Kurt Warner: Head appears to be fine, and should pass a ton. ****
RB Tim Hightower: Titans stop the run well, so don't expect the usual. ***
RB Chris Wells: Should see the usual carries, but matchup not great. ***
WR Larry Fitzgerald: Always a great play, and should be very active. *****
WR Anquan Boldin: Looked good last week, and should play big role again. ****
WR Steve Breaston: Role has been solid, so decent play this week. ***

QB Vince Young: Cardinals pass defense stinks, but he won't be too active. ***
RB Chris Johnson: Has been awesome, and matchup is decent. *****
RB Lendale White: Scored last week, so could see some run this week. **
WR Justin Gage: Still out with a back injury.
WR Kenny Britt: Has been starting and playing ok, so decent option this week. ***
WR Nate Washington: Solid matchup, so not a horrible WR3 this week. **
TE Bo Scaife: Role has been small, so find another option. *

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens

QB Ben Roethlisberger: Check his status, but matchup bodes well. *****
RB Rashard Mendenhall: Ravens stop the run well, so not a great play. ***
WR Hines Ward: Should be very active, and matchup bodes well. ****
WR Santonio Holmes: Hasn't scored since week one, so this could be the week. ****
WR Mike Wallace: Could see solid amount of targets with nice matchup. ***
TE Heath Miller: Was very active last week, so solid play against Ravens. ****

QB Joe Flacco: Steelers can be passed on, and he should throw a lot. ***
RB Ray Rice: Could still be active through screens, but Steelers stop the run well. ***
RB Willis MGahee: Only has value near the goalline. *
WR Derrick Mason: Should be active, so solid WR3 this week. ***
WR Mark Clayton: Very unreliable, but Ravens will have to pass. **
TE Todd Heap: Not a big role, and just not very explosive. **

New England Patriots @ New Orleans Saints

QB Tom Brady: Should be fine in a huge matchup. ****
RB Laurence Maroney: Saints can't stop the run, so good play. ****
WR Randy Moss: Saints will have trouble with him early and often. *****
WR Wes Welker: Will be extremely active as usual. *****
WR Julian Edelman: Role fairly small, but potential is there. **
TE Ben Watson: Hasn't done much lately, so not a great play. **

QB Drew Brees: Patriots can be passed on, and he'll be needed. *****
RB Pierre Thomas: Should be active early, but Pats are decent against run. ***
RB Mike Bell: Had a good game last week, so should have decent role. ***
RB Reggie Bush: Iffy this week, but role is inconsistent, anyways. **
WR Marques Colston: A solid start in a huge game, and was active last week. ***
WR Devery Henderson: Hasn't been very good lately, but potential is there. **
WR Robert Meachem: Has scored in three straight, so a solid WR3. ***
TE Jeremy Shockey: Hasn't done much lately, so only a so-so play. **

Week 12 Fantasy Football Versus: Coin Flip

Even with all the Start/Sit and Waiver Wire advice in the world, sometimes fantasy owners are left to be frantic, panicking over their decisions going into Sunday's games .

In Fantasy Coin Flip, we take a look at three different positions and a possible matchup between two players of solid value that could be fighting it out for a spot in your team's line-up this week. Read on for some information and analysis that could help push you in the right direction:

Donovan McNabb , QB, PHI (vs. WAS) VS. Matt Ryan, QB, ATL (vs. TB)

This is an interesting matchup, as McNabb would be the usual consensus pick, but with his last performance against a reasonably tough Washington pass defense in mind, Matt Ryan definitely deserves his argument to be heard here.

McNabb had a great day against the San Diego Chargers two weeks ago and had another solid performance against the Chicago Bears, but after seeing how the Redskins held Tony Romo and the Cowboys passing offense in check for almost four quarters, we're not in love with McNabb's chances.

His inconsistency, past performance, and the Redskins defensive potential beg us to consider all options.

Ryan, on the other hand, has been progressing in recent weeks, and was solid last week in a loss to the New York Giants. His stud receiver, Roddy White, looks to be fully healthy, and his star running back, Michael Turner, could possibly return this week.

Verdict: Regardless of their individual arguments, Ryan is going up against a still pathetic Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, and has to be the play this week, making him a "coin flip" suggestion for the second week in a row.

Cedric Benson, RB, CIN (vs. CLE) VS. Michael Turner, RB, ATL (vs. TB)

It's the battle of the injured studs . The question isn't necessarily which will perform better against his scheduled cakewalk match-up, but more, which will play? And even if both play this Sunday, which can we expect to have a bigger role?

Benson is reportedly "ready to play", while head coach Marvin Lewis seems unwilling to commit to a status for the star running back for Week 12. Benson's hip figures to be almost (if not completely) 100 percent, but with an easy opponent like the Cleveland Browns, it wouldn't shock us to see the Bengals sit him for the second consecutive week.

As for Michael Turner, while he hasn't practiced all week, his high ankle sprain is reportedly healing faster than expected, although head coach Mike Smith isn't saying anything about it.

The word is that Jason Snelling is going to be the starter this week, especially considering the Falcons haven't even begun to discuss a timetable for Turner's return.

Verdict: Both running backs hold good value if they play this week, and both have a decent shot at a return. However, we're leaning toward the guy that has the hip injury, and not an ankle injury that can easily be re- injured. Run with Benson if you must.

Lee Evans, WR, BUF (vs. MIA) VS. Terrell Owens, WR, BUF (vs. MIA)

This is the matchup between the Bills top two receivers, pitting the guy Ryan Fitzpatrick used to be enamored with (Evans), against the guy he hooked-up with constantly in Week 11. Will Evans get the bulk of the looks like usual, or has T.O. truly broken out?

The noodle-armed Ryan Fitzpatrick was unwilling to go deep to Terrell Owens when he first took over as the starter two weeks ago, and it was the same story in spot duty before that. However, he and Owens connected on a 98-yard scoring strike last week, while Owens ended the game with 197 yards receiving.

Verdict: We like Evans to garner some more attention due to his better catching ability and Fitzpatrick's tendency to throw shorter passes, but Owens' potential should have him being your choice as an elite WR3 this week.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Wide Receiver Rankings

For the top five this week , we're giving Reggie Wayne the nod over Larry Fitzgerald. The Titans defense has been improving, especially their secondary, while Wayne is facing a very beatable Houston pass defense.

The remaining top 10 choices this week are all excellent WR2's, and most could fit in your line-up as a WR1.

For the rest of this week's rankings , followed by some notes, read on:

1. Reggie Wayne @ HOU
2. Larry Fitzgerald @ TEN
3. Randy Moss @ NO
4. Andre Johnson vs. IND
5. Roddy White vs. TB (Check Status)
6. Wes Welker @ NO
7. Chad Ochocinco vs. CLE
8. Vincent Jackson vs. KC (Sit )
10. Sidney Rice vs. CHI
11. Mike Sims-Walker @ SF (Start )
12. Anquan Boldin @ TEN
13. DeSean Jackson vs. WAS
14. Marques Colston vs. NE
15. Santonio Holmes @ BAL
16. Hines Ward @ BAL
17. Steve Smith @ NYJ
18. Nate Burleson @ STL
19. Derrick Mason vs. PIT
20. Devin Hester @ MN
21. T.J. Houshmandzadeh @ STL
22. Percy Harvin vs. CHI
23. Chris Chambers @ SD
24. Terrell Owens vs. MIA
25. Michael Crabtree vs. JAC
26. Jerricho Cotchery vs. CAR
27. Steve Breaston @ TEN
28. Pierre Garcon @ HOU
29. Brandon Gibson vs. SEA
30. Earl Bennett @ MN
31. Lee Evans vs. MIA
32. Donnie Avery vs. SEA (Check Status)
33. Jeremy Maclin vs. WAS
34. Kevin Walter vs. IND
35. Santana Moss @ PHI
36. Malcom Floyd vs. KC
37. Braylon Edwards vs. CAR
38. Laveranues Coles vs. CLE
39. Devery Henderson vs. NE
40. Lance Long @ SD

Notes: Don't buy into Sidney Rice's hot streak ending anytime soon. The Chicago Bears' pass defense is atrocious, and Brett Favre and the Minnesota passing offense shows no signs of lowing down.

We like all Seattle receivers this week, and even like Brandon Gibson's chances against the Seahawks (if you're desperate), considering his 17 looks he got last week, at least you'll know he should be involved in the offense.

Our bottom five this week is made-up of the over-hyped Floyd (don't use him), three other guys who haven't done anything recently (and likely won't), and Lance Long, who we actually like going forward.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Tight End Rankings

After we saw some real dud performances out of the tight end position over Thanksgiving, there's still some hope with a solid crop left for Sunday and Monday.

Read on to see where the top options rank , followed by some quick notes :

1. Dallas Clark @ HOU
2. Antonio Gates vs. KC
3. Tony Gonzalez vs. TB
4. Vernon Davis vs. JAC
5. Kellen Winslow @ ATL
6. Brent Celek vs. WAS
7. Greg Olsen @ MN (Start )
8. Heath Miller @ BAL
9. Visanthe Shiancoe vs. CHI
10. John Carlson @ STL
11. Dustin Keller vs. CAR
12. Jeremy Shockey vs. NE
13. James Casey vs. IND
14. Fred Davis @ PHI
15. Marcedes Lewis @ SF

Notes: The top four need no explanation, but Kellen Winslow could even be argued as a better option than Vernon Davis this week, as he's facing a weak Atlanta secondary that has been terrible against tight ends in 2009.

Ditto for Greg Olsen going against the Minnesota Vikings, who can't seem to stop any tight ends they face, save for shutting John Carlson down last week.

Speaking of Carlson, the last time he faced the St. Louis Rams, he and Matt Hasselbeck connected on seven passes for 97 yards and two scores. Despite a poor couple of games lately, we like his chances this week.

Last but not least, we're still quietly vouching for James Casey on the Texans. He only totaled 33 yards off of two catches last week, but showed his playmaking ability with a 32-yard catch. We like his chances at some solid opportunities in what could be a shootout against the Colts.

Thanksgiving Special: Fantasy Football Week 12 Player Breakdowns

If you haven't had the chance, be sure to check out this week's Start/Sit column, as well as our player rankings. For quick match-up analysis, read on for Week 12's player breakdowns:

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

QB Aaron Rodgers: Just look what Brady Quinn did last week. Enough said. *****

RB Ryan Gant: Has been running hard and has a great match-up. *****

WR Greg Jennings: Broke-out last week and should kill on Thursday. *****

WR Donald Driver: Tasty match-up, so great play. ****

WR James Jones: Could get some looks underneath. **

WR Jordy Nelson: Scored last week, so should be involved. **

TE Jermichael Finley: Has a decent role and nice match-up helps. ***

QB Matthew Stafford: Is a game-time decision and not a great match-up. **

QB Daunte Culpepper: Likely the starter, but not a good play at all. *

RB Kevin Smith: Won't go very far against solid run defense. **

WR Calvin Johnson: An iffy play, but could do some damage if he's a go. ***

WR Bryant Johnson: Should see solid targets if CJ can't go. **

TE Brandon Pettigrew: Doesn't do much, and Green Bay stuff tight ends. *

Oakland Raiders at Dallas Cowboys

QB Bruce Gradkowski: Looked decent, but was horrible last time he played on Thanksgiving. **

RB Michael Bush: In a big RBBC, but running is Oakland's only chance. **

RB Darren McFadden: Best potential out of group, and his role is growing. ***

RB Justin Fargas: Had most carries last week, but role is uncertain. **

WR Darrius Heyward-Bey: He nor no other Oakland receivers are worthy owning. *

TE Zach Miller: Value rises with Gradkowski, but ceiling still limited. ***

QB Tony Romo: Not a great threat against very stingy secondary. **

RB Marion Barber: Should pound the rock against horrible run defense. ****

RB Felix Jones: Could be active, but Barbers is getting the ball more. **

RB Tashard Choice: Ditto. **

WR Miles Austin: Has been quiet, but there's hope for a big play or two. ***

WR Roy Williams: Could see some looks, but doesn't offer a ton of optimism. **

TE Jason Witten: Might not even play, and match-up stinks. **

New York Giants at Denver Broncos

QB Eli Manning: Has looked very good the past two weeks, and Broncos are reeling. ****

RB Brandon Jacobs: Should be all by himself and Denver hasn't been stopping the run. ****

RB Ahmad Bradshaw: Out.

RB Danny Ware: Should see increased role, but how much? *

WR Steve Smith: Is a solid WR2 and could see solid production this week. ****

WR Hakeem Nicks: Very inconsistent lately, but WR3 potential is always there. **

WR Mario Manningham: Has been very involved lately, so a decent play. ***

TE Kevin Boss: Has scored four times in last three games, so worth a shot. ***

QB Kyle Orton: Giants leaky secondary could be his cure for awful stretch. ***

RB Knowshon Moreno: Giants can be run on, and he's looked solid. ***

RB Correll Buckhalter: Inconsistent role, but is facing beatable defense. **

WR Brandon Marshall: Was terrible last week, but should get back on track. ****

WR Eddie Royal: Too inconsistent to rely on. **

WR Jabar Gaffney: Ditto. *

NFL Fantasy Football Week 12 Running Back Rankings

Chris Johnson has a tougher matchup than usual against a decent Cardinals defense, but you simply can't bet against this guy right now. He's a must-start every week.

However, outside of him, there are choices to be made :

1. Chris Johnson vs. AZ
2. Adrian Peterson vs. CHI
3. Maurice Jones-Drew @ SF
4. Steven Jackson vs. SEA
5. Frank Gore vs. JAC
6. DeAngelo Williams @ NYJ
7. Ricky Williams @ BUF
8. Ray Rice vs. PIT (Sit )
9. Bernard Scott vs. CLE
10. Thomas Jones vs. CAR
11. Ryan Grant @ DET
12. Marion Barber vs. OAK
13. Pierre Thomas vs. NE
14. Brandon Jacobs @ DEN
15. Joseph Addai @ HOU
16. Jason Snelling vs. TB (Start )
17. LaDainian Tomlinson vs. KC
18. Justin Forsett @ STL
19. LeSean McCoy vs. WAS
20. Knowshon Moreno vs. NYG
21. Matt Forte @ MN
22. Rashard Mendenhall @ BAL
23. Laurence Maroney @ NO
24. Jamaal Charles @ SD
25. Rock Cartwright @ PHI (Waiver Wire )
26. Steve Slaton vs. IND
27. Kevin Smith vs. GB
28. Chris Wells @ TEN
29. Mike Bell vs. NE (Waiver Wire )
30. Tim Hightower @ TEN
31. Carnell Williams @ ATL
32. Jonathan Stewart @ NYJ
33. Jamal Lewis @ CIN (Waiver Wire )
34. Fred Jackson vs. MIA
35. Darren Sproles vs. KC
36. Marshawn Lynch vs. MIA (Check Status)
37. Felix Jones vs. OAK
38. Donald Brown @ HOU
39. Shonn Greene vs. CAR
40. Cedric Benson vs. CLE (Check Status)

Notes: Be aware of tough matchups for studs like Rashard Mendenhall and Ray Rice, and don't take a chance on Matt Forte this week. The elite run defenses all three players are facing don't bode well for their fantasy production.

We like Justin Forsett this week, so much so that we've ranked him 18th, and we're not even ranking Julius Jones, who is set to return this week. Forsett should still have a big role and is likely to be much more effective, while a tasty matchup with the St. Louis Rams is hard to ignore.

The bottom five consists of backs with solid potential that don't see the ball enough, as well as Cedric Benson, who is looking more and more like a strong candidate to miss Week 12's action. With Bernard Scott looking so solid last week, we advise just benching Benson and taking a chance on him next week.

Be sure to check out the Quarterback , Wide Receiver, and Tight End rankings for Week 12.

NFL Fantasy Football Week 12 Quarterback Rankings

It's unlikely that you have the choice between Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning at the top two spots, but if you do, Rodgers is the guy this week.

Brady Quinn destroyed this Lions' pass defense for 304 passing yards and four scores. Expect the same for Rodgers.

1. Aaron Rodgers @ DET
2. Peyton Manning @ HOU
3. Drew Brees vs. NE (Game Preview )
4. Tom Brady @ NO
5. Philip Rivers vs. KC
6. Brett Favre vs. CHI
7. Matt Schaub vs. IND
8. Kurt Warner @ TEN (Check Status)
9. Carson Palmer vs. CLE
10. Ben Roethlisberger @ BAL (Check Status)
11. Matt Ryan vs. TB (Start)
12. Matt Hasselbeck @ STL
13. Eli Manning @ DEN
14. Tony Romo vs. OAK (Sit )
15. Donovan McNabb vs. WAS (Sit )
16. Jay Cutler @ MN
17. Matt Cassel @ SD
18. Joe Flacco vs. PIT
19. Alex Smith vs. JAC
20. Josh Freeman @ ATL
21. Vince Young vs. AZ
22. Kyle Orton vs. NYG (Check Status)
23. David Garrard @ SF (Start )
24. Brady Quinn @ CIN
25. Chad Henne @ BUF
26. Jason Campbell @ PHI
27. Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. MIA
28. Jake Delhomme @ NYJ
29. Matthew Stafford vs. GB (Game-Time Decision)
30. Kyle Boller vs. SEA
31. Bruce Gradkowski @ DAL
32. Mark Sanchez vs. CAR

Notes: Our top 10 this week should all produce at a very high level, as they are either running offenses that are red-hot, facing cupcake defenses, or both. The only questions in the top 10 are Kurt Warner and Ben Roethlisberger (head injuries), but both are expected to play on Sunday.

We're vouching for Matt Ryan this week in our Start/Sit column, so take a look at why, as well as our other player promotions.

We like Alex Smith against a very beatable Jacksonville pass defense, especially if the 49ers show more of the spread offense that worked so well against the Green Bay Packers in the second half last week.

Our bottom five quarterbacks are virtually untouchable and should not be in your starting lineup for any reason, but if Matthew Stafford makes the start, we actually like him to have some decent success against the Packers, especially if his top receiver, Calvin Johnson, is also available.

Stay tuned for the Running Backs, Wide Receiver, and Tight End rankings for Week 12.

NFL Week 12 Picks: Are the Saints in Trouble?

Week 12 figures to be another interesting and exciting week in the 2009 NFL season, but considering our solid 12-4 record with last week's picks, it appears we have a solid grasp on what to expect from this year's teams.

Forgive us for not calling upset specials like Kansas City over Pittsburgh and Oakland over Cincinnati.

For all your upsets and predicted scores , read on.

Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions

The Lions could be without Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, which is some pretty awful news, considering the last time they were both out they lost to the St. Louis Rams. It probably wouldn't matter either way, though, as Aaron Rodgers is likely to do what Brady Quinn did to them, times 10.

Packers 44, Lions 17

Oakland Raiders @ Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo and the Cowboys' passing game have been in a funk for the second time this season, which should put further emphasis on Dallas running the ball. If they do that, they will eliminate Oakland's only true threat (their pass defense), and they should win this one easily.

Cowboys 24, Raiders 9

New York Giants @ Denver Broncos

The Giants just ended their own four-game skid, and now the Broncos are attempting to do the same. We're going with the team that got it together last week, rather than the one that looks completely lost.

Giants 31, Broncos 21

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

Ricky Williams looked a little worn down last week after a huge carry increase, but that will happen when you're 32 and not used to being a featured back. Forget about that and embrace what Miami is doing on offense, as Williams and co. will run all over the Bills' awful run defense.

Dolphins 27, Bills 17

Carolina Panthers @ New York Jets

The Jets' only real chance in this game is to get Thomas Jones and the rushing attack going early and then allow Mark Sanchez to play pressure-free football. They can't have Sanchez flinging passes around against Carolina's elite pass defense.

Panthers 24, Jets 21

Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals

The Browns showed the world that Brady Quinn might be special and that, as bad as they may be, there is a little bit of optimism in this offense. Sadly for them, however, the Bengals already dropped a stink to the Raiders last week and will be too focused to do it again.

Bengals 30, Browns 17

Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans

Upset special, numero uno. The Texans are two Kris Brown missed field goals away from potentially being 7-3 and are facing a 10-0 Colts team that is just begging to lose a game. The Texans win a wild one.

Texans 36, Colts 34

For our other upsets and picks for Week 12, go here .

Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Watch

Every week, we take a look at the best available options due to injuries, roster status, and weekly matchups that could potentially be available to you in your league.

It's important to be constantly on the watch for gems that slip through the cracks, especially with injuries knocking out key players for the season such as Owen Daniels and Ronnie Brown, and other players like Michael Turner and Cedric Benson nursing injuries.

Take a look at this week's Waiver Wire Watch, where we show you the best options that are available in over 50 percent of all Yahoo! Sports leagues:

Alex Smith, QB, San Francisco 49ers (Available in 81 Percent of Leagues )

Smith jumped back into the fantasy spotlight with three touchdown passes, all in the second half, against the Packers last week.

While the 49ers have only been able to win one game with Smith under center, there's no doubt that his strong arm and style of play have made the 49ers a more capable and exciting offense.

He has a nice matchup this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and could be a solid option to turn to if you don't like your other options.

Vince Young, QB, Tennessee Titans (82 Percent)

Young hasn't dazzled with touchdowns or passing yardage (and likely won't), but he's been trustworthy and fairly dependable during the Titans' four-game winning streak. He has thrown three touchdowns to just one interception over that span, and even added 73 yards rushing on the ground in Week 11.

If you need a dual-threat passer who can get you safe points without losing the game on turnovers, Young could be worth a look.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions (87 Percent)

Stafford broke-out against the Cleveland Browns last week throwing for 422 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winning score. True, it was the Browns, but Stafford's poise and play-making ability has improved steadily over the course of the season.

While he's not guaranteed to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, we still suggest you pick him up, as his potential could make for a solid stretch run to end the season.

Chad Henne, QB, Miami Dolphins (90 Percent)

Henne isn't asked to do much, as Miami runs the ball and dumps short passes off to running backs and receivers. But for a second-year guy basically playing his rookie season, Henne is putting up solid numbers.

He has scored six touchdowns in his last seven games, while topping 170 yards passing in five of those contests. Like Vince Young, he's not going to win your game for you each week, but he's a better alternative to Kyle Boller or Bruce Gradkowski.

Brady Quinn, QB, Cleveland Browns (95 Percent)

Quinn had a huge game against the Detroit Lions last week, passing for 304 yards and four touchdowns, giving him his best game as a pro, and offering a ton of optimism toward the future.

Sure, it was against a horrible Lions pass defense, but if what we saw last week is the beginning of something special, Quinn definitely deserves a roster spot.

His matchup against a solid Cincinnati pass defense this week isn't envious, but considering Bruce Gradkowski didn't look bad against them, Quinn still has a shot at making something happen.

For the rest of the positions/players to consider picking up this week, head over to NFLSoup.com

Fantasy Football Start and Sit: Week 12

We had a great showing last week, giving you the right calls more often than not, while posting an 11-4 record for Week 11.

We suggested that you start Eli Manning and Ricky Williams, two moves that paid off big time, while a few of our sit calls, Carson Palmer, Chad Ochocinco, and Jay Cutler also helped your teams if you followed our advice.

Read on for the five guys to start, the five to leave on the bench, and the five to keep an eye on heading into Week 12:

Start

Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons

Ryan looked much better than he has over the past few weeks in a tough battle with the New York Giants, and should continue to improve with the nice matchup with Tampa Bay this week.

Prediction: 24-34, 296 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT

Justin Forsett, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Forsett ran hard against the Minnesota Vikings' elite run defense, but finished with just nine yards on nine carries. However, his athleticism and play-making ability allowed him to reel off 80 yards on eight receptions, and he was even able to find a rushing touchdown late in the game.

Julius Jones is expected to make his return this week, but even if he does, we expect Forsett to remain a big part of what Seattle's offense is doing, especially with a soft matchup against the St. Louis Rams.

Prediction: 10 att, 65 yds, 0 TD, 6 rec, 63 yds, 1 TD

Jason Snelling, RB, Atlanta Falcons

After pounding out 80-plus total yards and two scores against the Giants, it looks like Snelling will get another start with Michael Turner likely sitting out for the second straight week.

It's obvious that Snelling can put up solid production behind Atlanta's big offensive line, and with a nice matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, you just can't sit the guy.

Prediction: 17 att, 81 yds, 1 TD, 4 rec, 35 yds, 0 TD

Ryan Grant, RB, Green Bay Packers

Jamal Lewis and Chris Jennings ran all over the Detroit Lions, so what makes anyone think the improving Ryan Grant won't be able to? Grant has been very impressive in recent weeks, averaging more than 101 total yards per game in his last three outings.

The Lions won't be able to stop anything the Packers throw at them, so don't even think about this one: Put him in your lineup.

Prediction: 19 att, 112 yds, 1 TD, 3 rec, 29 yds, 0 TD

John Carlson, TE, Seattle Seahawks

Carlson has been very disappointing lately, catching just one pass in his last two games, while getting blanked against the Minnesota Vikings. We could stay down on him and suggest a sit, but he's facing the Rams this week, and the last time he faced them in the season opener he went off for 95 yards and two scores.

Even if he doesn't duplicate those numbers, he should put up respectable stats this week.

Prediction: 5 rec, 62 yds, 1 TD

Sit

Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

It took Romo almost the entire game last week against the Redskins to throw a touchdown pass, and the past few weeks have shown us that he just isn't getting it done. Opposing defenses are figuring out how to stop Miles Austin, and it is directly impacting Romo's production. He shouldn't fare much better with a tough matchup against the Oakland Raiders and their stingy pass defense.

Prediction: 23-37, 278 yds, 2 TD, 4 INT

Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears

The one (and only) thing to like about Matt Forte in 2009 is that his role in the Bears offense is extremely dependable. He will always get the touches to give him the chance to be a stud back, but with tough opponents and a horrible offensive line, his production will be no better than average.

Forte has just one 100-plus yard rushing day on the season, but has totaled 100-plus yards five times, simply because he remains so active as a receiver. There's always promise with Forte, but not this week, as he'll face a staunch Minnesota run defense.

Prediction: 11 att, 35 yds, 0 TD, 6 rec, 44 yds, 0 TD

Tim Hightower/Chris Wells, RB, Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have really done a great job at committing to the ground game and making their offense a well-balanced machine. However, regardless of the progress of both Hightower and Wells, they go up against a stiff Tennessee run defense this week, and considering they were borderline Flex plays or low-end RB2's anyways, they don't make for good starts this week.

Hightower Prediction: 11 att, 33 yds, 1 TD, 3 rec, 19 yds, 0 TD
Wells Prediction: 8 att, 42 yds, 0 TD, 2 rec, 9 yds, 0 TD

Kevin Smith, RB, Detroit Lions

Smith is coming off of a weak rushing effort, but was heavily involved in the passing game in Detroit's victory over the Cleveland Browns, registering more than 100 receiving yards and a score.

However, with the possibility that both Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson could miss the Thanksgiving game, and the fact that the Green Bay Packers have been solid against the run, this doesn't look to be the best week to use Smith.

Prediction: 15 att, 40 yds, 0 TD, 3 rec, 40 yds, 0 TD

Malcom Floyd, WR, San Diego Chargers

Floyd has been getting an unbelievable amount of hype since entering the starting lineup on a full-time basis, but for no good reason. He hasn't caught more than three balls in a game all season, and regardless of his size and potential, simply isn't a big factor in San Diego's offense.

Prediction: 3 rec, 47 yds, 0 TD

Sleeper

Chad Henne, QB, Miami Dolphins

Henne hasn't been dazzling since taking over for the injured Chad Pennington, but he definitely has a fine hold on how to manage the Dolphins offense. As long as Ricky Williams and the rest of the Wildcat is working effectively, Henne has a chance on any given day to help you out in a pinch.

Prediction: 14-22, 177 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

Rock Cartwright, RB, Washington Redskins

With both Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts injured, Cartwright will step into action as the Redskins start this week. After solid production against a steady Cowboys defense (140 total yards), Cartwright makes for a good Flex play in Week 12, despite going up against a stout Eagles run defense.

Prediction: 14 att, 54 yds, 1 TD, 4 rec, 43 yds, 0 TD

Jordy Nelson, WR, Green Bay Packers

Nelson returned from a knee injury against the 49ers to catch four passes for 32 yards, including a touchdown. He and teammate James Jones are risky fantasy plays, considering they share time at the third receiver spot, but both have value, and Nelson is one to keep your eye on.

Prediction: 4 rec, 56 yds, 1 TD

Mohamed Massaqoui, WR, Cleveland Browns

He's not a suggested start by any means, but as Brady Quinn's top option and a decent down-field threat, Massaquoi will at the very worst continue to get opportunities to succeed. He'll have a tough time against a solid Bengals pass defense this week, but he could be a decent Flex play for the stretch run if you're looking for a receiver with good potential.

Prediction: 4 rec, 75 yds, 0 TD

James Casey, TE, Houston Texans

Casey wasn't phenomenal in his first real attempt at replacing Owen Daniels (IR), but he did catch two passes for 33 yards, with one being an impressive 32-yarder. As he gets more comfortable within the offense and builds his chemistry with Matt Schaub, it's only a matter of time until he's putting up solid numbers.

With the Colts pass defense dealing with loads of injuries, Week 12's matchup could have him finding success sooner rather than later.

Prediction: 5 rec, 62 yds, 1 TD

NFL Week 12: Five Things To Watch For

We are now 11 weeks into the 2009 NFL season, and we are still waiting for the first losses from the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts. In fact, many fans and experts are beginning to wonder if either teams will lose.

Well, with reasonably tough match-ups in Week 12 , this writer is hoping to finally nail the prediction we've all been chasing after.

Read on for some analysis on the Colts/Saints games, as well three more things to keep an eye on in this Week 12's Five Things to Watch For :

5. Can the Green Bay Packers Continue Their Hot Streak?

The title says it's hot, and for the Packers in 2009, it'll have to do. The Packers have won two straight, one with a great defensive effort, and another by the arm of Aaron Rodgers and the legs of Ryan Grant.

Normally when a team loses two star defensive players, in this case Aaron Kampman and Al Harris, you'd think a winning streak would come to an end. But, not when you face the Detroit Lions, and especially not when Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson are both doubtful for the game.

Packers 34, Lions 10

4. Will the Denver Broncos End Their Slide?

The AFC's version of the New York Giants will take their own disappointing four-game skid into a match-up with the Giants, who got off the schneid with their first win in five games in Week 11.

We're going with the team that has looked fairly solid in two straight games, rather than the one that has look absolutely atrocious for four straight.

Giants 26, Broncos 23

3. Will Chris Johnson Keep his Streak, and the Titans' Alive?

Johnson has been on an absolute tear, running for 100+ yards in five straight games, while guiding the Titans to four straight wins. The Titans appear to be for real on both sides of the ball, as their pass defense has gotten stingy and their offense has played smart football during their streak.

They face a decent Arizona Cardinals run defense this week, but can we really start betting against CJ and Vince Young now? We wouldn't.

Titans 24, Cardinals 20

2. Can the New England Patriots Expose the New Orleans Saints?

Every other team not named the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can, so why not?

The Patriots have made a strong commitment to getting their ground attack going in recent weeks, and they've done a very good job of running against their opponents. The Saints, while also stalwarts at rushing the ball, have no answer for the opposition's ground attack, which in turn negatively effects their usually stellar pass defense.

Plain and simple: If the Saints are going to lose in the regular season, this is as safe a bet as any.

Patriots 31, Saints 27

1. Can the Houston Texans Bounce-Back and Get Their Revenge on the Indianapolis Colts?

I believe they can. They put up a decent fight against an inspired Tennessee team and a star running back (Chris Johnson) that simply will not be denied.

It doesn't say a whole lot for their own resilience, but they still could be looking at a 7-3 record, instead of being 5-5, if their kicker (Kris Brown) could have sent them into overtime in their first game against the Colts, as well as last week's game against the Titans.

Indy has to lose sometime, and this is a must-win week for Houston if they're serious about making a run at the playoffs .

Texans 27, Colts 24

NFL Power Rankings Week 12: Colts Can't Be Rattled

The Colts and Saints (ranked first and second last week) remain in the top two spots, as they should, while some unlikely upsets have shaken the rest of the rankings up a bit.

Week 12 will start to open things up a bit with Indianapolis being tested by a hungry Houston team, while New Orleans will face quite arguably it's toughest test in the New England Patriots.

Read on to see where your team ranks in Week 12's NFL Power Rankings:

1. Indianapolis Colts (10-0)

They aren't winning games by decisive margins at all, and this week's was particularly ugly, but winning is winning, and undefeated is still undefeated .

2. New Orleans Saints (10-0)

They looked fantastic against a bad team, so that doesn't tell us a whole lot. They're still undefeated and easily among the elite in football, but they need to regain some consistency, and a good start would be by beating a worthy opponent in New England this week.

3. Minnesota Vikings (9-1)

They've been hearing from experts that their schedule has been soft, and that's why they are where they are. Perhaps, but if they weren't as good as they look, they would have lost more games by now. It's time everyone starts believing the Brett Favre MVP hype .

4. New England Patriots (7-3)

They destroyed the Jets and made Rex Ryan call them out for throwing the ball near the end of the game. They're in a nice spot, but the true test will be this week against the undefeated Saints on Monday Night Football.

5. San Diego Chargers (7-3)

They showed who the boss of the AFC West was with a truly dominant performance over the Broncos. They're finally beginning to realize their potential.

6. Arizona Cardinals (7-3)

Kurt Warner's head injury probably isn't serious, so the Cardinals can sit back and relax with a 7-3 record. Even if they finished 9-7 again, this division is still likely theirs.

7. Cincinnati Bengals (7-3)

Just when they convince everyone that they're an elite team, they go and lose to the Raiders. They're right back where they were before they finished sweeping the Steelers.

8. Dallas Cowboys (7-3)

Have you seen a more pathetic win this season? Tony Romo and this offense need to get it going again, and fast.

9. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)

They could have kept pace with the Bengals for the division, but after blowing a game against the Chiefs, there's a decent chance they could miss the playoffs.

10. Philadelphia Eagles (6-4)

They staved off a desperate Chicago team and are back in the thick of things. Hopefully they learned in Week 11 that running the ball is something they can be very good at if they simply commit to it.

11. Green Bay Packers (6-4)

Just when this team is gaining momentum, they lose two key defensive players. They might have the depth to replace Aaron Kampman, but their already suspect secondary takes a huge hit with Al Harris gone.

12. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4)

It looks like Jack Del Rio finally has his team back, and while the opponents haven't been overly impressive, at least this team is in the position to do some damage for the stretch run.

13. New York Giants (6-4)

One win doesn't make them a good football team, but with their fast start in the first five games, it surely keeps them in the mix for the playoffs, as well as their division.

14. Baltimore Ravens (5-5)

They played hard and barely lost to a very good Indianapolis club. But you could say that for the majority of their losses this season. They're definitely a good football team. They just don't know how to finish games.

15. Denver Broncos (6-4)

Boy, they really had everyone fooled, didn't they? They are officially the AFC's version of the New York Giants. Is it any coincidence that they'll be facing that same Giants team in Week 12?

16. Miami Dolphins (5-5)

Ricky Williams showed in one game that, as much of a stud that Ronnie Brown was, he can definitely be replaced. If they can keep winning and the Patriots fall to the Saints this week, they still have a shot at this division.

17. Houston Texans (5-5)

Chalk that up as the second game kicker Kris Brown has blown for this team.

18. Atlanta Falcons (5-5)

They ran into a Giants team that was absolutely reeling and simply wanted a win more. Now they're the team that needs to fight their way out of mediocrity.

19. Tennessee Titans (4-6)

You just can't say enough about the resilience of this Titans team. Vince Young is definitely in the running for Comeback Player of the Year award, and Chris Johnson is strongly urging everyone to second-guess anointing Adrian Peterson as the best running back in the league.

20. New York Jets (4-6)

Mark Sanchez can't be benched, but clearly he can't be coached, either. That, or whoever is coaching him isn't doing his job. If the kid just settles down and limits the mistakes, this is still a good football team. Still, it's hard not to like his (and the Jets) future.

21. San Francisco 49ers (4-6)

Alex Smith may have ignited a fire in this offense, and contrary to popular belief, he still is not the issue. This defense is not as good as it was in the first four weeks, and it's clear they're still a year or two away from the playoffs.

22. Carolina Panthers (4-6)

We've learned over the past few weeks that Jake Delhomme can manage games just fine if his team backs him and his running game is on fire. But when the game has to be in his hands, he's among the league's worst.

23. Chicago Bears (4-6)

People will continue to lay the blame on Jay Cutler, but until this offensive line figures out how to protect him and move the ball on the ground, this team will just keep losing games. It doesn't get any easier against Minnesota this week.

24. Kansas City Chiefs (3-7)

As I said last week, this team has all the makings of a late-season run, and could be very competitive next year. Matt Cassel looked more comfortable in Week 11, which is very scary for the rest of the league considering his opponent.

25. Seattle Seahawks (3-7)

We knew the Vikings were the better team, but their offensive effort was just pitiful. I'm starting to really question the big-money Seattle invested in T.J. Houshmandzadeh. On a lighter note, is that Justin Forsett kid good, or what?

26. Buffalo Bills (3-7)

Dick Jauron is fired and Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starting quarterback, yet nothing has truly changed in Buffalo. At least T.O. put on a show for one game this season.

27. Oakland Raiders (3-7)

Good-bye, JaMarcus Russell. I know Bruce Gradkowski probably isn't the long-term solution in Oakland (or anywhere else), but what he did on Sunday was show Al Davis what a competent quarterback with average skills can do.

28. Washington Redskins (3-7)

They led for the entire game and fought hard, despite losing yet another player to injury. How much more bad luck can this team handle?

29. St. Louis Rams (1-9)

The Rams continue to play hard, and they're playing the game the right way. Their strides may take a hit with the loss of Marc Bulger for 3-4 weeks, however.

30. Detroit Lions (2-8)

Matthew Stafford's 422 yards and five touchdowns were very impressive. The guts it took to play through pain and throw a game-winning touchdown pass were even more impressive.

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-9)

I take back my assessment on Raheem Morris. He shouldn't be back for 2010.

32. Cleveland Browns (1-9)

Not so fast, Brady Quinn critics. This very well could be just an example of how bad the Detroit Lions pass defense is, but I've got a feeling it also showed us that there is some light at the end of the tunnel for Quinn, after all.

As It Stands, Brett Favre Is NFL's MVP

If we remove all biases and opinions, I feel that we have finally come to the point in the NFL season" target="_blank">2009 NFL season , at least for now, that Brett Favre is without a doubt the front-runner for the MVP award.

You can hate him. You can love him. You can respect him, and you can be sick to death of hearing his name.

But one things is for certain—you can't ignore the season he and his team are having.

You can make arguments for his teammate, Adrian Peterson. You could easily say that Peyton Manning is deserving, that Drew Brees has been solid, and that because Favre isn't undefeated, he can't win the award over either of the aforementioned quarterbacks.

Hell, when it's all said and done, if Aaron Rodgers can will his Green Bay Packers into the playoffs, as well as keep his ridiculous numbers up, perhaps he will be the league's MVP .

Or if Chris Johnson can keep doing what he's done, maybe he's the guy.

Perhaps. Maybe. Let's wonder about it.

But it's Week 12. This is right now. I'm talking about which guy in this league makes his team the best; who's team would be lost without him.

Surely, you can make a strong case for any of the mentioned stars, and there are likely another handful of strong candidates. But in a numbers league, Favre is crushing everybody.

Before you scoff at my proposal and litter the world with petty comments about a 40-year old quarterback being an insane MVP nominee, take notice of the facts at hand.

Brett Favre and his Minnesota Vikings are 9-1. That makes for the second-best record in the entire league, with the Vikings only loss coming to the very respectable (and reigning NFL champion) Pittsburgh Steelers.

So, just for argument's sake, let's lay down the ground rules.

MVP Qualifications

-Team has to have a winning record

-Player has to be having a great statistical season

-Player has to be MVP of own team before being considered for league

Check, check, and check. Again, you can debate for Peterson, but without Favre, at least considering the magical performances his team needed to win in a few games, this team would have a very different identity.

Alas, I digress.

Favre is second in the league with 21 touchdown passes, just one away from Drew Brees.

Favre is second in the league in completion percentage (barely), falling just .1 percentage shy of Peyton Manning at 69.7 percent.

Favre also ranks in the top 15 in passing yards, yards per completion average, attempts, and completions.

He ranks near the middle of the league in sacks taken, and leads all starting quarterbacks who have thrown over 200 passes in 2009 with just three interceptions, while also losing just one fumble all season.

While all these numbers are great and easily put Favre in the conversation of being MVP for the fourth time, it's his passer rating that leaves the greatest impression.

His 112.1 passer rating is tops in the league, beating out Drew Brees by seven points, and Manning by 10.

Enough now? Well, after looking at Favre's team record, his stats, and his performance rating, it's very logical to still, once again, point back to Manning and Brees being very close to Favre in the main categories, while also having their teams at 10-0.

But we're not taking everything into consideration , are we?

That little thing that Favre always got in trouble for (turnovers), aren't weighing him (or his team) down this season, while Manning and Brees have both thrown nine interceptions a piece, and Brees has lost four fumbles on the season.

And if this information hasn't proven Favre's case, consider the manner and style in which he and his team have performed over the course of the season:

-Favre's game-winner against the San Francisco 49ers

-His happy-go-lucky style of play

-His two emotional wins over his former team, the Green Bay Packers

While everyone is promoting Tom Brady, Cedric Benson, and others for Comeback Player of the Year, and many others are looking over Favre for the MVP consideration, I suggest a serious glance at old number four for both .

In a season, and career, where Favre has made a habit of over-coming odds, breaking records, and shocking his fans and haters, why stop now ?

NFL Fantasy Football Injury Update: The Opportunity Maker/Taker

This article takes a close look at the effect of injuries on the players that sustain them, as well as the supporting cast around them.

Take a look at the key injuries affecting several teams for Week 12 :

Marc Bulger, QB, St. Louis Rams

Bulger has sustained his second injury of the season, but this it's time one that will keep him out for up to a month and possibly the entire season .

Bulger has a broken tibia, and, considering his timetable is a very friendly three to six weeks, he's likely to go on IR.

The Good:

This means the Rams will likely pound the rock even more with Steven Jackson, and it also means that rookie Keith Null (QB) could get a crack at proving himself if Kyle Boller struggles (he will).

The Bad:

The increased role for Jackson will be welcomed by all fantasy owners, but we can't say the same for the increased focus defense will have on stopping S-Jax. Without a competent quarterback (not that Bulger was amazing) keeping the offense balanced, there is the real possibility that Jackson struggles down the stretch.

The Rams receivers who have very minimal value as is—Donnie Avery, Brandon Gibson, and Danny Amendola—will almost certainly see their production take a hit.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions

There's nothing official, but reports are already coming out of Detroit that Stafford will not be able to make Thursday's Thanksgiving match against the Green Bay Packers.

The rookie quarterback has a minor injury to his non-throwing shoulder, but he is in enough pain to possibly keep him out of Week 12's action.

The Good:

Daunte Culpepper makes his third start of the year, and, judging by his awful results, that is almost solely good for his ego and nothing else.

However, Calvin Johnson is back in top form (but also dealing with injuries ), and, with the Packers losing both OLD Aaron Kampman and star CB Al Harris for the season, the Green Bay defense won't be at full force. Culpepper is a sketchy play regardless, but Megatron still carries loads of potential in this matchup.

The Bad:

The Packers already do a solid job of stopping the run, and, even without Kampman and Harris, will likely be able to key-in on Kevin Smith and co. with Culpepper struggling.

Culpepper knows the Packers and he could shine with Green Bay's secondary banged-up, but we wouldn't bet on it, especially with him preparing in a short week.

Ladell Betts/Clinton Portis, RB, Washington Redskins

Betts is out for the season with torn knee ligaments, and Portis has already been ruled out for the third straight week.

This leaves Rock Cartwright and whomever (if anyone) the Redskins decide to pick-up off the street. Where's that Larry Johnson when you need him?

The Good:

Cartwright becomes an actual decent flex play and borderline RB2 for the first time in his career, while Jason Campbell and Santana Moss will likely be leaned on even more than usual with a lack of experience and depth in their running game.

The Bad:

If Washington can't find the right balance on offense, they'll inevitably be lost and ineffective against a solid Philadelphia Eagles defense. The Eagles would be the favorites, even if the Redskins had Clinton Portis and Chris Cooley healthy. It could be ugly.

Fabian Washington, CB, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens second cornerback sustained an ACL injury and is lost for the remainder of the 2009 season, killing the already weak depth Baltimore's secondary had.

Add his name to the list, along with Terrell Suggs from last week, and this Ravens' defense (and team) is officially falling apart .

The Good:

The only good thing about this is that the Ravens have a solid rookie prospect in Lardarius Webb, but even his promise and stellar play in spot duty will likely be cancelled out by the depth hit this gives the secondary.

The Bad:

For Baltimore, this probably means even worse pass defense, which in turn won't do their run defense any favors. This means great things for the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive players in Week 12, and if Ben Roethlisberger is fully healthy (he's expected to be), you can expect something to the tune of his 380+ yards last week.

Fantasy Football: Monday Night Sleepers

If you're still struggling over who may give you your best shot at getting those final five-15 points to steal your Week 11 contest in your fantasy league, this is the article for you.

Obviously if you're in the rare situation where you still have an open spot or still haven't decided between some lesser-known Monday night options, it's time to get some information on who is your best bet to rescue you this week.

With guys like Matt Schaub, Chris Johnson, Steve Slaton, and Andre Johnson on other teams or already must-start's in your line-up, here are the guys that could help you out that are either on your bench, or could be available in the waiver wire:

James Casey, TE, HOU VS. Bo Scaife, TE, TEN

We're voting for Casey to be the Houston dark-horse for tonight, as well as a huge sleeper pick for the rest of the season. Casey is still going to be coming off the bench behind the current starter, Joel Dreesen, simply because he isn't an elite blocker.

However, Casey is fully recovered from a knee injury that held him out of Houston's last contest, and head coach Gary Kubiak has vouched for him, saying that he'll be a big part of what Houston is trying to do for the stretch run.

Scaife is beyond average, and is really only a candidate for 2-3 catches in any given week. Go with Casey's upside, as he should begin his attempt to take over for the injured Owen Daniels in front of the nation.

Kenny Britt, WR, TEN, VS. Kevin Walter, WR, HOU

Walter saw his looks and production increase in his last game, and considering his five catches were the most he's had since his first game of the season.

He'll obviously be more involved as the season goes on, but with tempting rookie tight end James Casey expected to take over Owen Daniels' role in the offense, it's a safe bet that Walter's production will still remain fairly inconsistent.

We like him this week, but we don't love him, and even more importantly, we refuse to vouch for him.

Kenny Britt, on the other hand, had 55 yards last week as the starter with Justin gage missing action with a back injury. Gage is out again, and with Houston's pass defense lacking great depth, Britt could see some positive results much like he experienced earlier in the season. Go with Britt this week over the inconsistent Walter.

For the remaining options for Monday Night's game, go here.

NFL News and Notes (Nov. 23rd)

Packers Lose Kampman, Harris For Season

Green Bay lost their star outside linebacker Aaron Kampman and cornerback Al Harris, to knee injuries. Both players are expected to miss the remainder of the 2009 season .

Kampman looks to be fairly replaceable with either Brandon Chillar or Brady Poppinga, who are both quicker and more athletic, making them more suitable for the outside.

Harris, however, despite being 34 and obviously losing a step, will be far more difficult to replace. His only serious replacement option is third year cornerback, Tramon Williams, while the inept Jarrett Bush remains their second-best option.

Needless to say, a Packers defense that was just getting adjusted, will have to learn on the fly and re-establish it's chemistry.

Ladell Betts Done For Season for the Redskins

Betts reportedly has a torn ACL and MCL, which will effectively end his season.

With Clinton Portis already ruled out for week 12, back-up Rock Cartwright, who ran all over the Atlanta Falcons and gained over 100 total yards on Sunday,is suddenly a bit of a hot commodity.

The Redskins are reportedly searching for another running back to bring aboard, suddenly will be awaiting Portis's return more eager than before.

Look for Cartwright to be the feature back in week 12 and be a solid flex play, but also keep up with reports dealing with a possible signing of an extra back.

Big Ben Uncertain For Week 12

Ben Roethlisberger is dealing with a concussion that could threaten his status for week 12, but reports suggest that he is doing fine and looks as if he could still be a go against the Baltimore Ravens.

However, with an injury to back-up quarterback Charlie Batch as well, the Steelers have inquired about the possible services of veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia .

Dennis Dixon is currently the only other option behind the injured Roethsliberger, so this is a story you should follow if you are a Roethslisbeger owner.

Kurt Warner Confident He'll Play in Week 12

Warner left week 11's game against the St. Louis Rams with a head injury and was relieved by back-up Matt Leinart, who was 10-14 for 84 yards passing.

Warner isn't necessarily expected to miss any action, but if you own him, picking up Leinart (if you haven't already), is strongly encouraged.

Matthew Stafford Iffy for Thanksgiving Day

After an explosion for 400+ yards passing and five touchdowns Sunday (including the game-winner), Stafford is questionable heading into Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers with a non-throwing arm shoulder injury.

Green Bay Packers Lose Aaron Kampman, Al Harris for Season

Green Bay escaped with a close 30-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11, but not without some serious casualties on defense.

The Packers improving defense lost both OLB Aaron Kampman and CB Al Harris to ACL tears on Sunday, and both players are expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Both of these potentially catastrophic injuries will test the Packers new 3-4 defense, and could decimate a defense that shined in a win over the Dallas Cowboys last week.

Kampman was having a down year after switching from the defensive line to the outside as a linebacker. The 34-year-old Harris was regarded as "slowing down," despite being the Packers second-best cover corner.

The injuries could likely thrust either Brandon Chillar or Brady Poppinga into the starting lineup. Either could be interesting IDP plays, particularly the crafty and athletic Chillar.

Harris will likely be replaced by Tramon Williams, while Jarrett Bush will likely be in the mix.

Steve Slaton Retains Starting Job: Fantasy Impact

Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak has re-named Steve Slaton as the starting running back for Monday night's game against the Tennessee Titans, according to Nick Scurfield, via Twitter.

Slaton was benched three weeks ago after fumbling for the third time in three games, and left the Texans victory over the Buffalo Bills with just three total touches for 11 yards.

Back-up Ryan Moats stepped in after Slaton's exit and proceeded to run for over 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns, prompting Kubiak to name Moats the starter for Week 10's match against the Indianapolis Colts .

Despite being listed as the back-up, Slaton still found his way to nine touches, but as only able to rack up 29 yards, while also scoring one touchdown on the ground.

Fantasy Perspective: This is a huge fuss about nothing, as we saw last week that being the starting running back in Houston doesn't exactly mean you get all the carries.

Houston basically just rides the hot hand, and Slaton is still a risky play, especially with a very tough matchup against a solid Tennessee Titans run defense.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Tight End Rankings

After touching base with the quarterbacks , running backs , and wide receivers for this week, we end Week 11's rankings with the tight ends:

1. Dallas Clark @ BAL
2. Antonio Gates @ DEN
3. Tony Gonzalez @ NYG
4. Vernon Davis @ GB
5. Brent Celek @ CHI
6. Kellen Winslow vs. NO
7. Jason Witten vs. WAS
8. Greg Olsen vs. PHI
9. John Carlson @ MN
10. Jeremy Shockey @ TB
11. Visanthe Shiancoe vs. SEA
12. Heath Miller @ KC
13. Dustin Keller @ NE
14. Kevin Boss vs. ATL (Sit )
15. Zach Miller vs. CIN
17. Fred Davis @ DAL
18. James Casey vs. TEN
19. Brandon Pettigrew vs. CLE
20. Marcedes Lewis vs. BUF

Notes: Tony Gonzalez should be a bit more active than usual, and regardless of the Giants defensive history over the past few years, they simply aren't an elite unit right now. He gets the nod over Vernon Davis by a hair due to Green Bay's ability to stop tight ends this year.

John Carlson and Visanthe Shiancoe will be playing in the same game, and both could have solid days. Carlson caught his first touchdown last week in what seems like forever, and he's facing a Minnesota defense that gives up points to tight ends. Seattle, on the other hand, has given up an average of seven catches per game to tight ends through their last three games.

James Casey is our darkhorse at tight end this week, as he returns from minor knee surgery to attempt to take over for Owen Daniels. He won't be starting, but head coach Gary Kubiak voiced his pleasure with Casey, and said he'll be a big part of the offense going forward. Look for him to do some damage as Tennessee concentrates on Andre Johnson.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Wide Receiver Rankings

We've already covered the Quarterbacks and Running Backs rankings this week, so read on for the rankings and some selected analysis for Week 11, and then go check out the Tight End rankings:

Steve Smith vs. ATL
20. Devin Hester vs. PHI
21. Miles Austin vs. WAS
22. Steve Breaston @ STL
23. Jerricho Cotchery @ NE
24. Donald Driver vs. SF
25. Nate Burleson @ MN
26. Jeremy Maclin @ CHI
27. T.J. Houshmandzadeh @ MN (Sit )
28. Chris Chambers vs. PIT
29. Austin Collie @ BAL
30. Derrick Mason vs. IND
31. Kevin Walter vs. TEN
32. Percy Harvin vs. SEA
33. Hakeem Nicks vs. ATL
34. Braylon Edwards @ NE
35. Michael Crabtree @ GB
36. Pierre Garcon @ BAL
37. Roy Williams vs. WAS
38. Santana Moss @ DAL
39. Lee Evans @ JAC
40. Malcom Floyd @ DEN
41. Devery Henderson @ TB
42. Donnie Avery vs. AZ
43. Lance Long vs. PIT
44. Earl Bennett vs. PHI
45. Bernard Berrian vs. SEA

Notes: The top ten this week are fairly interchangeable, although we caution some severe match-ups for Randy Moss and Andre Johnson. We by no means suggest sitting these guys, but we do warn you that they could be in for some average performances.

We like the receiver match-ups in the Pittsburgh vs. Kansas City game. The Chiefs corners are slow, so we like Santonio Holmes to score for the first time since week one, while Hines Ward continues his nice 2009 ride. As for the Chiefs, we're quietly promoting Lance Long , while urging you to at least try Chris Chambers as a Flex play. The Steelers are missing Troy Polamalu this week, and we all know the Chiefs won't be moving the ball on the ground.

All Colts receivers are a go, so that means you can play Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon without feeling guilty about leaving Santana Moss or Lee Evans on your bench. The Ravens should do a nice job stifling the Colts average rushing attack, so all Colts receiving options should be fairly busy against a weak Baltimore secondary.

The Sidney Rice "explosion watch" should continue, as Rice has now topped 130 yard receiving in three of his last four, and it shouldn't stop against a rather weak Seattle secondary. Just look at what the Cardinals receivers did to them last week.

On another note out of Minnesota, we're ranking Bernard Berrian this week at the final spot, with the thought that he simply isn't getting it done. Still, with his speed and talent (and Favre throwing him the ball), he could be due a big game. Sadly, we feel his hamstring injury will be there all season.

For more analysis, check out Week 11's Fantasy Player Breakdowns .

Reggie Bush Ruled Out For Week 11: Fantasy Impact

New Orleans Saints star running back Reggie Bush will not travel with the team to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers, and thus has been ruled out for Week 11.

The team is likely being extra cautious with his surgically-repaired knee , one that seems to flare up near the end of every season.

Bush is coming off of a sensational game in which he topped 80 yards rushing off of just five carries while scoring two touchdowns, one on the ground and another through the air.

Fantasy Perspective:

Bush would still have only been a Flex play at best, as his touches and role in the offense wasn’t concrete enough to fully rely on. However, he has been scoring at a consistent rate this season, and is definitely roster worthy in almost every league.

His absence should clear any doubt about Pierre Thomas being a beast this week, as the Buccaneers can’t stop the run at all, and now Thomas will only be splitting carries with Mike Bell. In direct connections, Bush’s absence should get Bell back to his usual 10+ carry load, while making him a solid Flex play, as well.

If you're struggling to find a replacement for Bush this week, take a look at our Waiver Wire Watch , and check out this week's Fantasy Risers .

NFL Injury Update: Anthony Gonzalez Could Be Back for Week 12

NFL.com's Jason La Confora is reporting that Indianapolis Colts' receiver Anthony Gonzalez could be nearing a return to the field.

After having surgery on his knee just three weeks ago, Gonzalez has been ruled out for Week 11's game against the Baltimore Ravens, but has been given the green light to begin practicing with the team next week, and could see action as early as next Sunday.

The Colts have been and should continue to be extremely cautious with their young receiver, as his return is not necessarily needed with the offense operating at a high level, while two other young receivers, Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon, have performed admirably

Fantasy Perspective: The return of Gonzalez means very little for your fantasy playoff hopes, other than makes you look a little less foolish for keeping him on your roster for this long.

Regardless, the fact that he'll be returning next week (possibly) could mean he could be inserted back into the starting line-up as early as Week 13, which could have him playing effective football by the time most fantasy league's begin their playoffs.

Stay tuned for more information regarding Gonzalez's status and fantasy value.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Running Back Rankings

We already got a taste of fantasy success if we had DeAngelo Williams or (better yet) Ricky Williams in our line-up on Thursday night.

However, injuries and roster shake-ups constantly change our fantasy perspectives every week, so take a look where we rank the top 35 running backs for Week 11 :

1. Chris Johnson @ HOU
2. Maurice Jones-Drew vs. BUF
3. Adrian Peterson vs. SEA
4. Ray Rice vs. IND
5. Rashard Mendenhall @ KC
6. Frank Gore @ GB
7. Steven Jackson vs. AZ
8. Brandon Jacobs vs. ATL
9. Kevin Smith vs. CLE
10. LaDainian Tomlinson @ DEN (Fantasy Riser)
11. Pierre Thomas @ TB
12. Cedric Benson @ OAK
13. Joseph Addai @ BAL
14. Matt Forte vs. PHI
15. Marion Barber vs. WAS
16. Ryan Grant vs. SF
17. Thomas Jones @ NE
18. LeSean McCoy @ CHI
19. Justin Forsett @ MN
20. Jason Snelling @ NYG
21. Ahmad Bradshaw vs. ATL
22. Knowshon Moreno vs. SD
23. Bernard Scott @ OAK
24. Ladell Betts @ DAL
25. Chris Wells @ STL
26. Marshawn Lynch @ JAC
27. Tim Hightower @ STL
28. Carnell Williams vs. NO
29. Jamal Lewis @ DET
30. Mike Bell @ TB
31. Jamaal Charles vs. PIT
32. Laurence Maroney vs. NYJ
33. Reggie Bush @ TB (Ruled Out)
34. Ryan Moats vs. TEN
35. Steve Slaton vs. TEN (Upgrade)

These rankings are highly dependent on how several player's injury statuses go come game-day. Cedric Benson has declared himself a game-time decision, which should tease some hopeful owners for the next two days, and then even if he plays, we can't be certain of his or any other Bengals running backs' roles.

We're highly promoting both Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw this week, as we like the overall match-up for the Giants offense, and it's finally time New York got serious about establishing its ground attack again. A soft Atlanta run defense will do it's best to help out.

Kevin Smith and Jamal Lewis should both see a ton of action as the Lions and Browns both have awful run defenses. Both Cleveland and Detroit could vie to throw the ball on equally pathetic pass defenses, and really, this could be the week for both lackluster offense to reach their ceiling for the season.

Ryan Moats and Steve Slaton individually are top 10 talents in this offense, but the Texans do struggle with the run at times, and facing a tough run defense in Tennessee doesn't help the value of two backs that are sharing the rock with each other and Chris Brown.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Quarterback Rankings

Thursday's game brought us a decent performance from Chad Henne, and even Jake Delhomme dropped in some sold yardage and a score. With one game out of the way, here's a look at where the other 30 quarterbacks rank heading into Sunday's action .

Monitor Kyle Orton's status leading up to game time, and against our better judgment, play Matthew Stafford, David Garrard, and Matt Cassel ahead of him (or Chris Simms):

1. Drew Brees @ T.B.
2. Peyton Manning @ BAL
3. Tom Brady vs. NYJ
4. Kurt Warner @ STL
5. Ben Roethlisberger @ K.C.
6. Matt Schaub vs. TEN
7. Aaron Rodgers vs. S.F.
8. Philip Rivers @ DEN
9. Donovan McNabb @ CHI
10. Brett Favre vs. SEA
11. Tony Romo vs. WAS
12. Eli Manning vs. ATL
13. Matt Ryan @ NYG
14. Carson Palmer @ OAK
15. Jay Cutler vs. PHI
16. Matt Hasselbeck @ MN
17. Joe Flacco vs. IND
18. Vince Young @ HOU
19. David Garrard vs. BUF
20. Brady Quinn @ DET
21. Matt Cassel vs. PIT
22. Matthew Stafford vs. CLE
23. Kyle Orton vs. S.D.
24. Josh Freeman vs. N.O.
25. Alex Smith @ G.B.
26. Marc Bulger vs. AZ
27. Jason Campbell @ DAL
28. Mark Sanchez @ N.E.
29. Ryan Fitzpatrick @ JAC
30. Bruce Gradkowski vs. CIN

Notes: The top 10 are fairly self-explanatory and all are quality starts, regardless if they have questionable matchups.

Tony Romo struggled last week and Washington's pass defense is normally solid, but they were exposed last week, so look for the Cowboys to strike early with the deep ball.

Matt Cassel and the Chiefs will undoubtedly get beat up by the Steelers early, but if you follow trends, you'll know that Cassel doesn't catch fire until after halftime. Bank on some nice yardage as the Chiefs work their way back from a hefty deficit.

Brady Quinn makes the top 20 based solely on his fantastic matchup, although we haven't seen enough to truly expect him to do anything that should make him worth owning. Still, it's the Lions, so he's worth a shot if you're desperate.

For further analysis on each starting quarterback for Week 11 , check out NFL Soup 's weekly fantasy player breakdowns .

Friday Fantasy Football Injury Round-Up (Nov. 20)

If you were a Ronnie Brown owner scrapping at the waiver wire heap before Thursday's action, or biting your finger nails over DeAngelo Williams's status, you can take a deep breath and relax for the next two days.

You have just under 48 hours to figure out your lineup, and with a large amount of injuries to some key players, there can never be enough information on their status, or the player's that could potentially replace them.

This article takes all the information from around the web and condenses it into short headlines, letting you in on player's statuses, and giving you an option or two if they are unable to go on Sunday.

Take a look at all the pressing concerns for the majority of fantasy owner's this week:

No Timetable For Michael Turner's Return

No timetable means no action for Week 11 . Falcons coaches and players won't admit it, because they want the Giants on their toes, but they'l be running without their "burner" this week, so you better start preparing for it.

Prognosis: Out for Week 11 .

Replacement Option: It's best to just keep the replacement from within, as the Falcons still love to run the ball and they've been doing it extremely well as of late. In related news, back-up Jerious Norwood has begun practicing again, but isn't a guarantee to play this week, and wouldn't be a safe bet for major action, either.

We're shooting for Jason Snelling to continue where he left off last week and pound the rock as the starter. He faces a fairly beatable Giants run defense. Other options to consider in lieu of losing Turner for the week are Justin Forsett, Ladell Betts, and Jamal Lewis. Lewis is on many waiver wires and faces a tasty match-up with the Detroit Lions.

Cedric Benson Unlikely To Face Oakland Raiders

Benson's injury wasn't so severe that he couldn't have played if the playoffs started today, but his hip is bad enough that Marvin Lewis doesn't mind resting him against an opponent that the Bengals probably don't need him to defeat.

Prognosis: Leave him on your bench

Replacement Option: There have been quiet rumors that Larry Johnson has been getting a solid amount of practice reps, but we don't buy it. Bernard Scott looked decent last week, and RB/FB Brian Leonard should get a few more carries, in addition to the help he gives as a receiver out of the backfield. Scott should be the main ball-carrier this week.

Kyle Orton Still Uncertain for Week 11

Head coach Josh McDaniels' really isn't leaning either way, citing Orton as a game-time decision, despite recent progress with a bum ankle.

Orton has played particularly well lately, and didn't fare too well when he played through injury last year, either.

Prognosis: Probable, but find another option .

Replacement Option: The Kansas City Chiefs won't be able to run against a stout Pittsburgh Steelers defense, so we like Matt Cassel to throw a ton, giving you a nice option outside of Orton. Matt Ryan should have to throw a lot with Michael Turner out, as well, so consider player him, despite a lackluster past few weeks.

Of course, there's always Chris Simms if there aren't any solid alternatives on your roster or available on the waiver wire.

Clinton Portis to Miss Second Straight Game

Washington is playing it very safe with Portis, and he has officially been ruled out for Week 11. He has an outside chances at returning for Week 12, but we'll give you updates on that later next week.

Prognosis: Out for Week 11 .

Replacement Option: Stick with the Redskins main guy, Ladell Betts, who topped 100 rushing yards and a score last week. The Dallas Cowboys won't make it easy on him this week, but if he can do that much damage against the Broncos solid run defense, he has a chance. He makes for a quality RB2 this week.

Correll Buckhalter Misses Thursday's Practice

This doesn't mean for sure that he won't play in Week 11, and we'll need to see how he does today (if he practices), but we're leaning towards a "sit" call.

Prognosis: Questionable, but sit him.

Replacement Option: Knowshon Moreno should be your starter out of the two , anyways, but if you're struggling to find another RB2 or a Flex play, see if you can't find Justin Forsett, Jason Snelling, or Ladell Betts left on the waiver wire. It doesn't sound like they'd be available, but believe us, crazier things have happened.

NFL Week 11: Five Things to Watch for

It gets repetitive, but if you're a true NFL fan, it never gets old. The 2009 NFL season continues to be one of the more exciting, story-line filled seasons, and through 10 weeks we still have two teams that are undefeated.

They both have endured several close calls, including a game-saving interception for the Saints and a last-second touchdown for the Colts, and are facing teams attempting to be the first to knock them off every week. Obviously two of the things we'll all be looking for is if either of these two teams will finally fall.

Read on for the remaining hot topics in this Week 11's Five Things to Watch for:

5. Can Ricky Williams Be an Elite Starting RB?

Is there any question? All the 32-year-old does is make plays, and despite losing his partner in crime, Ronnie Brown, he should still keep on trucking as the Miami Dolphins continue their dominance in the rushing attack.

There's no guarantee his jump to the elite level will mean Miami beats Carolina this week, or goes on to make the playoffs, but there's little doubt that he'll be making several fantasy owners very happy.

4. Can the Patriots Bounce Back?

Definitely. Head coach Bill Belichick made a tough call last week and basically gave the Indianapolis Colts their ninth win in 2009. But it was a gutsy call, and one that showed that he does not waiver in confidence in regards to his defense.

Look for the offense to continue its rampage on opposing defenses against a depleted and shaky New York Jets team that has gone 1-4 in its last five games.

Rex Ryan will be crying all week long.

Patriots 41, Jets 17

3. Will the Saints Keep Winning?

Let's be honest. Did anyone with a football brain, that has watched this team this year, actually smell a possible upset against St. Louis? No, probably not, but they should have.

Any team that is smart enough to run up the gut against this lousy Saints run defense will be able to compete with them, regardless of their overall talent level. On a lighter note, if Drew Brees and Co. can ever find their mojo again, it likely won't matter. Still, this defense is missing Sedrick Ellis like no one's business.

The Buccaneers will try their damnedest, but the Saints pass defense will be good enough to keep Josh Freeman from getting his second win.

Saints 31, Buccaneers 21

2. Are the Packers Playoff Contenders?

Considering they face the 49ers, and San Francisco is likely being asked the same question, we're about to find out. Both teams take pride in their defense, but really have only made strides in that department in the past week.

Unfortunately for football fans, instead of an offensive explosion between two former first round quarterbacks, we're more likely to see something like the 10-6 game the 49ers played against the Chicago Bears. Same ugly style, same ugly result.

49ers 16, Packers 13

1. Can the Cardiac Colts Continue the Streak?

It's been a remarkable ride, and as much as some experts want to believe the Baltimore Ravens are turning a corner after their shut-out against the Cleveland Browns, it's more likely that they're not.

The Colts did need a gimme fourth down call from the Patriots to enter Week 11 as 9-0 and the arguable best team in the league, but they are still undefeated, and are on a much higher level than the Ravens.

Baltimore's run defense should help their offense keep it close, but it'll be the same old mediocre ending for a disappointing Ravens team.

Colts 34, Ravens 24

NFL Week 11 Fantasy Football Player Breakdowns

Every week we take a look at every team's key players and their matchups for fantasy football. Check out some quick analysis on some possible studs, as well as some guys to avoid. Using the five-star rating to get a good idea on who to start and sit, in addition to the comments:

Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers

QB Chad Henne: Miami should run the ball a ton and Carolina pass defense is tops. *
QB Pat White: He should be in the mix more with the loss of Ronnie Brown for the season. **
RB Ricky Williams: Panthers run defense is soft and he should get the rock a ton now. *****
WR Davone Bess: Gets a decent amount of looks, but doesn't do a ton. **
WR Ted Ginn: Started last week and had zero catches. Not much optimism this week. *

QB Jake Delhomme: Carolina will run the ball a lot, but he should be OK against rookie corners. **
RB DeAngelo Williams: Check his status, but if he's active, he's too good to pass up. *****
RB Jonathan Stewart: Value rises if Williams is out. Solid matchup. ****
WR Steve Smith: Definitely has a chance at some success this week. ***
WR Muhsin Muhammad: Had a nice effort last week, and should get a few looks. **

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Kansas City Chiefs

QB Ben Roethlisberger: Chiefs corners are slow, so Big Ben could be in for a big day. *****
RB Rashard Mendenhall: Should be in for a solid bounce-back game. ***
WR Hines Ward: Matchup is great and he has been consistent all season. ****
WR Santonio Holmes: Still looking for that second score of the year, but good matchup. ****
WR Mike Wallace: Always a sneaky play, as he gets solid amount of targets. ***
TE Heath Miller: He's been quiet the past three weeks, so he's due for a solid game. ***

QB Matt Cassel: Chiefs will have to throw the ball, so he'll at least be busy. **
RB Jamaal Charles: Has almost no chance against Steelers run defense, so not a good play. **
WR Chris Chambers: Should see a ton more targets with Bowe out . ****
WR Lance Long: Value also rises with Bowe out. ***

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

QB Drew Brees: He hasn't had a truly elite game in a while. This is the one. *****
RB Pierre Thomas: Sharing the ball a lot, but bad defense still makes him a RB2. ****
RB Mike Bell: Carries have been inconsistent, and production hasn't been there. **
RB Reggie Bush: Looked very explosive last week, so nice potential this week. ***
WR Marques Colston: Has been quiet, so this could be a nice week to break-out. ****
WR Devery Henderson: Has been losing some deep targets to Meachem, so questionable play. **
WR Robert Meachem: Has scored in two straight games, and Tampa secondary is bad. ***
TE Jeremy Shockey: Has caught at least three balls in every game, so he's active. ***

QB Josh Freeman: His running game will have to get going for him to have a chance. *
RB Carnell Williams: Saints can't stop the run, so not a horrible play this week. ***
RB Derrick Ward: Shares the ball, but has looked OK. Nice matchup this week. **
WR Sammie Stroughter: Saints pass defense is solid, so not a good play. *
WR Antonio Bryant: Should be back this week, but still not a great matchup. **
TE Kellen Winslow: Freeman loves him, and he'll need him in this one. ***

Atlanta Falcons @ New York Giants

QB Matt Ryan: Giants pass defense is so-so and they'll need to pass in this one. ***
RB Jason Snelling: Even if he doesn't start, he'll get a lot of touches. ***
RB Michael Turner: Hasn't ruled himself out yet, but unlikely to play. **
RB Jerious Norwood: Is trying to come back, but not for certain this week. *
WR Roddy White: Should be active all day with a banged-up rush offense. ****
WR Michael Jenkins: Could see more targets than usual with Turner likely out. **
TE Tony Gonzalez: Nice matchup and he had 11 targets last week. Great play. ****

QB Eli Manning: Atlanta's pass defense is weak and Manning looked good last game. ****
RB Brandon Jacobs: Falcons' run defense is atrocious, so he might finally get going . ****
RB Ahmad Bradshaw: Ditto . ***
WR Steve Smith: Looked better last week, and should go as Manning goes. ****
WR Hakeem Nicks: Shares time with Manningham, but is a decent WR3. ***
WR Mario Manningham: Great matchup, so worth a shot. ***
TE Kevin Boss: Has scored in two straight and great matchup. ***

Buffalo Bills @ Jacksonville Jaguars

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick: Jaguars can be beat, but probably not by him. *
RB Marshawn Lynch: Is splitting carries, but Bills should try to run early. ***
RB Fred Jackson: Sharing the ball, so it still relevant. **
WR Lee Evans: Fitzpatrick loves him, so not a bad play this week. ***
WR Terrell Owens: Fitzpatrick kills his potential. **

QB David Garrard: Bills are solid against the pass, and Jaguars will run all day. **
RB Maurice Jones-Drew: Always a must-start, especially against this horrid run D. *****
WR Mike Sims-Walker: Jags might not pass a ton, but could still have a good day. ***
WR Torry Holt: Once again, when will this guy finally score a touchdown? **
TE Marcedes Lewis: Not a great matchup and not heavily involved. *

Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens

QB Peyton Manning: Ravens can be passed on, and Manning is on fire as usual. *****
RB Joseph Addai: Will have a tough time, but has been showing up. ***
RB Donald Brown: Role isn't what it used to be, so not a good play. *
WR Reggie Wayne: Best receiver in football should put up nice numbers again. *****
WR Austin Collie: Should be fairly active underneath. ***
WR Pierre Garcon: If he can catch the ball, he can get solid numbers. ***
TE Dallas Clark: Manning loves him, so you have to play him. *****

QB Joe Flacco: Colts' pass defense is beginning to crumble, so not a bad play. ***
RB Ray Rice: Could dominate only so-so Colts run defense. ****
RB Willis McGahee: Won't be used enough to depend on. *
WR Derrick Mason: Could get back into a groove if needed. ***
WR Mark Clayton: Hasn't done anything lately, so don't expect much. **
WR Kelley Washington: Hasn't been active at all, so don't hope for much. *
TE Todd Heap: He's a little banged up this week, but he's been mildly active: **

Seattle Seahawks @ Minnesota Vikings

QB Matt Hasselbeck: He'll have to pass all day, so numbers could be there. ***
RB Justin Forsett: The Williams Wall should be feared, but he could go all "Ray Rice " on them. **
WR Nate Burleson: Had zero catches last week, so should bounce back against former team. ***
WR TJ Housh: Has been decent, and should be active this week. ***
TE John Carlson: Scored last week and Minnesota struggles against tight ends. ***

QB Brett Favre: Seahawks don't do anything special, and he's playing great football. ****
RB Adrian Peterson: Seattle couldn't stop Hightower and Wells, so do the math. *****
WR Sidney Rice: Has had one weak game in his last four, and the matchup bodes well. ****
WR Bernard Berrian: Has been slowed by injuries all season but potential is still there. **
WR Percy Harvin: Stays involved on offense and is a monster in return leagues. ***
TE Visanthe Shiancoe: Seattle is getting killed by tight ends, so there's a chance. ***

Cleveland Browns @ Detroit Lions

QB Brady Quinn: Detroit can't stop the pass, so believe it or not, there's hope. ***
RB Jamal Lewis: Should be fairly active against weak overall defense. ***
WR Mohamed Massaquoi: Isn't reliable, but matchup could work. **
WR Mike Furrey: Was very active last week, and faces former team. **
WR Josh Cribbs: A little banged up, but should be ready for nice matchup. **

QB Matthew Stafford: Lions are likely to pound it with the run, but not a bad matchup. ***
RB Kevin Smith: Could be in for a huge workload against awful run defense *****
WR Calvin Johnson: Should see a couple targets deep. ****
WR Bryant Johnson: As long as he stays active, he's not a horrible play this week. **
TE Brandon Pettigrew: Hasn't done jack lately, but the matchup is nice. ***

For the final eight match-ups with fantasy analysis, go here .

Buffalo Bills Reportedly Interested in Mike Shanahan

After firing head coach Dick Jauron earlier this week and naming Ryan Fitzpatrick the new starting quarterback, as well as naming Perry Fewell the interim coach, the Buffalo Bills are now reportedly pursuing former Denver Broncos head coach, Mike Shanahan.

At least they've got the right idea.

When you fail to crack .500 football for the fourth straight year under the same coach, it's inevitable to want to change the tires of the system, and like most NFL team overhauls, that change usually starts with the coaching.

NFL.com's Vic Carucci is reporting that the Bills will meet with Shanahan sometime next week, and that the two-time Super Bowl champion is their "number one" head coaching target.

The Bills have been said to be willing to pay Shanahan any amount of money, while it appears they would also be willing to relinquish any and all power and decision making to Shanahan upon hiring him.

The Bills have made two more questionable calls since canning Jauron, as they've named Ryan Fitzpatrick the new starting quarterback over supposed "franchise quarterback" Trent Edwards and recently signed former second round pick, Brian Brohm.

Regardless of any moves or success the Bills have for the remainder of the season, there is little doubt that more changes need to be made, and the early line of thinking is that Shanahan is just the man for the job.

NFL Quick Hits (Nov. 18th): The Benching Of Jamarcus Russell, and More

Ronnie Brown Out For Season

Brown has reportedly been ruled out for the remainder of the 2009 season with an apparent Lisfranc fracture. This is a huge blow to Miami's strong rushing attack, but should open the door for the 32-year old Ricky Williams to become, once again, one of the league's premiere backs.

Williams may be up there in age, but he doesn't have a ton of tread on his tires and has been playing elite football all season long. Click your heels and hope that you already owned him if Ronnie Brown was on your roster.

Brian Westbrook Expected to Make Full Recovery

Doctors administered several tests and came to the conclusion that Westbrook was already making steady progress, and while he won't be returning to action any time soon, his career does not appear to be in jeopardy.

His 2009, however, doesn't hold as much certainty. Westbrook is expected to be out until follow-up tests are administered in 2-3 weeks, so unless the Eagles are in the thick of the NFC playoff race by then, his season could be a wash.

DeAngelo Williams Misses Wednesday Practice

He's supposedly listed as "questionable" this early in the week, but considering the same thing was being said all the way up to gameday and he still made the start (and played well), this needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Carolina will rest him all week, but he's still a safe bet to be deployed against the Miami Dolphins in a must-win game this week.

Jamarcus Russell Officially Benched

Russell has been atrocious all season long, as he's thrown just two touchdowns to nine interceptions. Josh Freeman already looks leaps and bounds better than this guy, and he's only played two NFL games.

Bruce Gradkowski will start in his place, and despite being a mild upgrade, he is nowhere near a fantasy option.

Julius Jones Ruled Out For Week 11

This was expected, especially after Justin Forsett's extremely impressive 120+ rushing yard and one touchdown day in Week 10. The tiny speedster really made a name for himself after Jones went down, and with even a decent showing this week against a tough Minnesota run defense, could carve himself a nice role going forward.

His shifty play-making ability and threat to rack up yards by both catching and running make him a solid Flex play this week.

Jerious Norwood Not a Safe Bet to Face Giants

The Falcons probably want to rush him back because of the recent injury to Michael Turner, but it'd be best to let both him and Turner rest this week and let Jason Snelling give it a go.

Snelling isn't terrible (and actually is a nice fantasy option this week), but the Falcons have to be feeling pretty nervous about their chances against the Giants without their top two running backs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick to Start For Bills

The noodle arm is back at full force, whatever that means. You know times are rough when Trent Edwards is no longer a team's best option over a guy like Fitzpatrick. Needless to say, Terrell Owens' value takes a huge hit with Fitz behind center, while Lee Evans actually stands pat as a decent WR3.

Note: Fitzpatrick likes throwing shorter routes to Evans.

For more fantasy updates, go here .
