Two Runs In Two Games Will Not Win Ball Games

Although I did not see the whole game today or yesterday, I did not need to.

Who wants to watch two games when your team only scores an average of a run a game? Awesome. Great pitching can only get you so far. But I'm sorry; if you can't score any runs, you will not win ball games. Period.

If there is any player on the Cubs that has been giving them a chance to win games, it's Fukudome. He hits homers. He's patient. He takes his walks. And he hits the ball when he needs to hit the ball. He is a great lead-off man. I don't know how Soriano ever got a lead-off position when Fukudome does what he does everyday and when Soriano spells 'walk' S-T-R-I-K-E-O-U-T.

If the Cubs ever want to make something of this season, Fukudome needs to stay in that lead-off position. We can all learn a few things from that outfielder. If the Cubs could learn a couple things from him, I believe it would make our offense much more productive.

The Cubs have all the players to be an All-Star team. But the All-Stars need to get hot. They need to stay hot. And it's gotta happen soon. Because Cubs pitching is going to be there the rest of the year. And the hitting...?

Cubs...You know what to do. Damn it. Do it.
