Did Jay Cutler Save All of Chicago Sports?

Is Jay Cutler the reason Chicago sports fans should be screaming? Should Chicago fans be proud to be Chicago sports fans for the first time since the Jordan era? I really think that we should be proud to have Jay Cutler because of how much he has symbolized over the past week.

Jay Cutler has indirectly helped Chicago in a lot of ways. First of all, he has saved the Bears from another bad season. Because of the trade for Cutler, the Bears seem to be the best team in the NFC North.

Also, the trade for Cutler has made the Bears a top contender for an NFC championship. In addition, Cutler is probably going to get one other big name wide receiver to come to Chicago, or maybe make one rookie wide receiver that the Bears draft into a star.

Cutler has also been helping out other teams in Chicago as well. The Bulls have been playing some amazing basketball since Cutler's arrival. They are 4-0, averaging about 108 points per game while picking up a quality win over a great 76ers team.

With Cutler's arrival, the Bulls seem to be also picking up the sixth seed over the 76ers, going from a 8th to a 6th seed in one week .

An example of the Chicago Bulls success with Cutler is their individual play. Ben Gordon has been averaging 24.5 points a game while Derrick Rose is averaging 18 points and 6.5 assist a game since Cutlers arrival.

The Blackhawks are also a team benefiting from Cutler. Since Cutler has been here, they have gone 5-1 with the only loss coming in overtime. The Blackhawks have also been playing like a team ready to make a run at the Stanley Cup with two quality wins over the Red Wings. With Cutler's arrival, the Blackhawks have been playing like a fierce team with the 4th seed in the playoffs.

The last thing Cutler can help Chicago with is the Olympics. As a fellow Chicagoan, I feel as if we should be trying our best to get the Olympics in this magnificent city.

Cutler's arrival has boosted up my self-esteem and has brought me faith in Chicago sports. He has given Bears fans more faith in their team, and has given me a sense that winning should be the number one priority; and that should include winning to get the Olympics in this city.

Over the past week, all I've heard from Chicago radio stations are positive things, and that gets me excited to hopefully get the Olympics here in Chicago.

The finishing touch to Cutler's arrival will hopefully be an NBA championship, a Stanley Cup, a Super Bowl, and lastly the Olympics in 2016.

From learning about what has happened in this crazy week of Chicago sports, I have concluded that the Jay Cutler trade has been the best thing that has ever happened to Chicago sports since Michael Jordan was here.

Cutler is probably the one player in the country making an impact in mostly all sports in a big city like Chicago. He is a great player and a great contributor to all of Chicago sports.

The 2008-09 All-NBA First Team

The All-NBA first team is a team of individuals who play great basketball each game. The all-NBA first team this year should go to the players who played some of the best basketball of their careers. The list is determined by how well each player has led their individual team this season.
The All-NBA team is also a list of players who master their position and play exceptional basketball at that position. The All-NBA team has two guards, two forwards, and one center. In my opinion, these 5 individuals deserve the award to be on the All-NBA first team.
Begin Slideshow

Top Five Ohio State Players To Watch For In 2009

With the loss of many starters to the NFL draft, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be trying to rebound and try to make the most of their top three recruiting class. This year they must try to work their way to the top with many new and young players.

This list is going to help with finding the five most important players and the five players that Buckeye fans need to watch in the 2009 season.

#5 LG Jim Cordle (6-4, 297, Sr.) No. 64

This senior is the most experienced Buckeye offensive lineman. If he does well on the offensive line, then the run game will be a lot better.

He must also show the new sophomore center Michael Brewster how to play physical in this tough Big Ten defense because of Cordle's experience at playing center.

Cordle has exceptional quickness and plays low with power. His versatility and athleticism allows Ohio State to open up the running game, installing pulling plays designed to feature his mobility.

#4 DB Chimdi Chekwa (6' 0", 188, Jr.)

With the loss of Michael Jenkins in the secondary, Chekwa must fill in the role of the All-American defensive back.

Chekwa must play good defense against the pass with all these great new WR's in the Big Ten. He must play well against the fast and good USC WR's in the second game of the season. He is a fast DB and is going to help the secondary of this Buckeye team.

#3 ILB Etienne Sabino (6-3, 232, So.) No. 11

Not many Buckeye fans know about Sabino because of how rarely he played on the defensive side of the ball. Sabino played a special team role in the 2008 season and now he must step up as the starting LB for the 2009 season with Laurinaitis and Freeman gone.

Sabino is going to need to play a tough physical game each time he steps on the field to fill in for the missing Buckeyes at LB.

#2 RB Daniel Herron (5-10,193,So.) No. 1

Herron is the RB that will be taking over Chris Wells position. Herron is going to help the Buckeyes because of how well he played last season, having an average of 4.9 yards per carry, including a 49-yard touchdown against Michigan.

Herron will be a great running back for the young Buckeyes and will be a threat against teams. Herron possesses great versatility and strength and is a tough between-the-tackles runner.

#1 QB Terrelle Pryor (6-6,235,So.) No. 2

The number one Buckeye to watch for is No. 2 Terrelle Pryor. The speedy Buckeye will be the key for Ohio States success.

He must make sure that Ohio State's pass game is going to be a threat as well as the run game. The only improvement he needs to make is on his pass game and that is to be a smarter passer compared to his last performance against Texas.

Pryor will be the most experienced offensive player and will learn from his mistakes. Expect him to a breakout year and lead the Buckeyes to a good record.

Top Four Players in the Final Four

This is a list of the top four players in the final four. The list contains one player from each team and why this player is going to control how well their team does in each game. I based this on which player is the most important to each teams success throughout the tournament. I also thought these players would be the key players to how each team will play in the next game. The Final Four will be based on how well each of these players will play in the next game.
Begin Slideshow
