Wilkin Castillo: Reds' Utility Man Out for Season

The Cincinnati Reds have announced that utility man Wilkin Castillo will be placed on the disabled list and is out for the remainder of the season with a torn right labrum in his right shoulder.

Castillo was acquired last season from Arizona, along with pitchers Micah Owings and Dallas Buck, for Adam Dunn.

Wilkin Castillo has had two stints for the Reds this season and appeared in four games.

Breaking News: Richard Jefferson Headed to San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have traded Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto in exchange for Richard Jefferson, according to a source from ESPN.

Adding Jefferson bolsters San Antonio's roster and will be a great compliment to superstars Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili and should make the Spurs one of the favorites already in the NBA.

This move saves the Bucks around $3 million this year and $15 million next season.

This trade also makes sense for the Bucks, because Bowen, Thomas, and Oberto are all going into the final year of their contacts. They also add veteran help and will fill holes on Milwaukee’s roster.

Edinsion Volquez and Brandon Phillips Help the Reds Destroy the Marlins 7-0

Behind the superb pitching by starting pitcher Edinsion Volquez, and the big day at the plate by Brandon Phillips, the Reds down the Marlins 7-0 and pitch their sixth shutout of the season.

Edinsion Volquez (4-2) pitched eight innings, giving up only three hits while striking out seven with four walks in the shutout. Volquez was in trouble a few times in the game but showed great composure by getting out of trouble.

Brandon Phillips continued to get back on track by going 3-5 with six RBI including a three run monster shot in the top of the seventh to make the score 7-0.

Joey Votto also continued to produce by getting on base all five times up, going 2-2 with a RBI and walking three times. Votto is off to a very hot start with a batting average of .378.

Catcher Ramon Hernandez and Shortstop Jerry Hairston Jr. also added two hits each going 2-4 respectably.

This marks the sixth shutout of the year for Cincy and matches the number of shutouts the Red legs had all season last year.

The Reds are now 14-12 and will head back home to host the Brew Crew as Reds starter Bronson Arroyo (4-1) takes on Brewers starter Manny Parra (0-4) at 7:05 ET Wednesday.

Reds Fans Give Chris Dickerson a Chance

Reds outfielder Chris Dickerson may not have had the start some expected, but fans in Cincinnati shouldn't panic quite yet.

If the Reds would try Dickerson out as an everyday outfielder instead of manager Dusty Baker's "platoon" man, everyone would see different results. It is hard to get into a rhythm while sharing duties in the outfield.

Dickerson proved in only 31 games (102 at-bats) last year that he deserves a shot at being the everyday outfielder. He batted .304 with six home runs—belting one homer every 17 at-bats.

With a rare combo of power and speed, Dickerson is by far our best player as our third outfielder. Jerry Hairston Jr., Lance Nix, and Darnell McDonald are decent bench players, but none possesses the skills that Dickerson does.

I wouldn’t panic at all about the way the season has started for Dickerson. In a limited role, he has only played 17 games with just 44 at-bats. He also suffered a head injury Monday during a collision diving into second base, but this shouldn't cause too much of a set back

Baker needs to give Dickerson a shot at being our everyday outfielder so he can show why he needs to be an everyday starter for the Reds and quiet the critics.

Be patient, Reds fans. It's only been a month and there is a lot of baseball left to be played.

Reds Vs. Astros: Votto Smashes Cincinnati Past Houston 4-3

The Reds ended their series against Houston Monday night, taking the series 3-1 by winning last night's game 4-3.

Starter Bronson Arroyo (3-0) pitched solid, going seven innings and giving up nine hits and allowing three earned runs with two Ks and no walks. Reliever Arthur Rhodes shone when he had the bases loaded with two outs in the eighth inning by striking out Hunter Pence looking on a full count.

Closer Francisco Cordero closed out the ninth to earn his fifth save of the season.

Edwin Encarnacion put the Reds ahead early on 2-0 in the first when he singled in Willy Taveras and Joey Votto.

The Reds were down 3-2 after Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee clobbered back-to-back jacks off Bronson Arroyo in the bottom of the seventh, but the Reds answered right back in the top of the eighth.

Votto smashed a double that just missed being a homer that drove in two runs and ended up being the game winner. Votto is on a roll, and that’s just what the Reds need heading to Chicago.

The Reds are 5-2 so far on this 10-game road trip and a half game out of first place. They will travel to Chicago to take on the Cubbies at Wrigley Field tonight at 8:05 ET.

Micah Owings (0-1) will try to rebound as he takes on Chicago's talented pitcher Rich Harden (0-1).

Reds-Astros: Owings Two RBI Double Helps Down Houston 4-2

Reds starter Edinson Volquez (2-1) had a little problem with his control, but didn't pitch badly and got the the victory. Volquez worked six innings of four-hit, one-run baseball while striking out seven and walking five.

Reliever Arthur Rhodes got into some trouble in the seventh after an error by Joey Votto, but forced a double play and got the other out to escape without giving up any runs.

David Weathers pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the eighth inning to protect the lead.

Closer Francisco Cordero got his third save of the season, but not before making it interesting by walking two and giving up a run.

The Reds batters started how they left off as AAA call-up Felipe Paulinio worked six innings of three-hit ball with zero runs while striking out six Reds and walking only two.

The Reds got it going in the seventh off Houston relievers when Jerry Hariston Jr. scored on a RBI single by Catcher Ramon Hernandez to tie the game at 1-1.

Later in the inning, PH Micah Owings crushed a two RBI double off the wall that just missed being a three run homer to put the Reds out in front for good.

In the top of the ninth, PH Darnell McDonald hit a stand up triple which would result in the final run for the Reds, as Willy Taveras hit a SAC fly to score McDonald.

The Reds are now 6-5 and will play Houston tomorrow at 8:05 ET to close out the series.

Cincinnati's Bronson Arroyo (2-0) will take on Houston's veteran pitcher Mike Hampton (1-1)

Reds-Astros: Aaron Harang, Jared Burton Pitch Poorly as Reds Are Shut Out 7-0

The Cincinnati Reds couldn't find any offensive spark, as Houston starter Wandy Rodriguez had an easy day on the hill.

Reds starter Aaron Harang worked six plus innings giving up five earned runs while striking out six and walking one on 10 hits in the loss.

Reliever Jared Burton came in to work the sixth after Aaron Harang was in trouble and was rocked once again giving up two earned on three hits.

Houston's starter Wandy Rodriguez pitched a career day working seven innings giving up two hits with 10 strikeouts (five in a row at one point) and two walks.

There isn't much to say about the Reds offense, and they didn't show up on this Saturday getting embarrassed with only having two hits each singles by Joey Votto and Willy Taveras.

The Reds offense could be in for a long season if they somehow cannot get some kind of pop.

The Reds are now 5-5 and take on Houston tomorrow afternoon as Reds pitcher Edinson Volquez takes on Felipe Paulino, fresh up from AAA.

Reds Vs Astros: Hernandez 9th Inning Homer Downs Houston 2-1.

Reds Catcher Ramon Hernandez finally got a little redemption for his poor start this season in the top of the ninth with a two run homer to lead Cincinnati over Houston 2-1.

Hernandez was facing Houston's Jose Valverde with one out and Edwin Encarnation on base. Hernandez delivered with his first home run as a member of the Reds.

Starter Johnny Cueto had an up and down day pitching 4 2/3 innings, giving up one run on two hits, and six walks. Cueto had three walks in the fifth, and also walked in a run that gave manager Dusty Baker no choice but to rely on the bullpen.

Relievers Mike Lincoln, Daniel Ray Hererra and Nick Maseet (Win 1-0) pitched scoreless, and mere perfect, innings in relief work.

Closer Francisco Cordero made it interesting in the bottom of the ninth by giving up two hits with one out before getting a Jason Smith game ending double play to claim victory, and earn "Coco" his third save.

Houston's Roy Oswalt (no decision) continued to be dominate against the Reds (23-1 in his career) pitching six scoreless with five hits, and retired the last 10 out of 11 batters he faced before being taken out.

The Reds record stands at 5-4, and one and a half games out in the Central.

Up next, the Reds ace Aaron Harang (1-1) takes on Houston's Wandy Rodriquez (0-1) at 7:05 ET at Minute Maid Park.

Reds-Brewers: Owings and Burton Stuggle As the Reds Lose 9-3

Making his first start as a Cincinnati Red Micah Owings (0-1) looked rusty as he took the loss given up four earned runs in five innings. Micah also had two walks and two strikeouts.

Owings hasn't pitched in 10 days due to getting his start pushed back due to a game being cancelled due to weather and it showed. Micah never looked very comfortable and he gave up two homers also.

Jared Burton came into relief in the bottom of the sixth in place of Owings with a 3-3 tie and a man on second with no outs to give up five runs to seal the deal for Milwaukee.

Nick Masset came in to work to innings of fine relief work pitching two inning and giving up one run.

The Reds bats didn't do much today as the middle of the lineup (Votto, Phillips, and Bruce) went a combined 1-for-11.

Alex Gonzalez ended his 17-game hitless streaks with a fifth inning RBI double.

Chris Dickerson got the game tied up for a short lived time in the top of the sixth with a two run homer.

Center Fielder Willy Taveras got on base three times for the second night with two base hits and getting hit by a pitch.

The Reds are now 4-4 for the season.

Up next the Reds head to Minute Maid Park to face the Houston Astros.

Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto (0-1) goes against Houston's ace Roy Oswalt (0-2) Friday at 8:05 ET.

Cleveland Browns Current Draft and Offseason Talk

With the NFL Draft only a few weeks away there have been numerous trade rumors swirling along with a vast number of different predictions on who and or what the Browns will do with the number 5 overall pick.

First off let’s talk about all of the trade talk and rumors that are going around at this time.

Braylon Edwards has been one of the hottest names being mentioned in possibly being dealt to the New York Giants along with some a few people saying that the Eagles and a dark horse Kansas City Chiefs may have some interest also.

I believe that this rumor has a great chance of being reality if the price is right.

The Giants seem to be the best fit for Edwards since they have extra picks, a 2nd and 5th from the Saints for Jeremy Shockey, and an abundance of young wide outs.

There was a rumor that the Giants contacted the Browns about Braylon Edwards and offered the 2nd and 5th round picks they received from New Orleans and their choice of WR Dominick Hixon or WR Mario Manningham.

The Browns were said to counter with former USC standout wide out Steve Smith instead of Hixon or Manningham but the Giants declined.

These talks started before the Giants release of troubled WR Plaxico Burress and have heated up as the draft inches closer.

The Giants are in desperate need of a big play type player as Edwards has shown in the past he can be. With the loss of Burress and lifetime Giant Amani Toomer there is a big void at the receivers spot. I think that this trade has a great chance of happening before the draft with the Giants being the number one front runner.

There is a very slim chance the Eagles could get involved late offering draft picks.

I believe the Giants will pull of this trade somehow and land Edwards before the draft or on draft day.

Brady Quinn has had a very uncertain offseason with his name being mentioned in a number a trades.

The newest trade rumors is Quinn going to Denver for picks and a few whispers that Detroit may be interested in trading the number 20 overall pick to the Browns for Quinn so they could fill other needs at the number 1 spot.

If any trade rumor involving Quinn becomes true the Browns will probably be asking a high price with so much invested in him.

It would not make any sense at all for the Browns to trade Quinn after they invested two first round picks for him and a second without really giving him a shot but Eric Mangini seems to like the big arm of Derek Anderson and will do whatever it takes to better the team.

Pro Bowl DT Shaun Rodgers name has also been in quite a few trade scenarios to numerous teams. Bottom line is this will not happen period.

Rodgers is currently working out with Cleveland and seems to have buried the hatchet with head coach Eric Mangini.

To add to that it would financially not make sense since former GM Phil Savage gave Shaun Rodgers a brand new contract with guarantees.

Former Pro Bowler Derek Anderson would seem to be the odd man out if they Browns commit to Brady Quinn and would likely want out anyways.

The Browns in my opinion the Browns should move Derek Anderson before the draft even though they will take a nice cap hit. My reasoning is that it will be bad for either QB that doesn’t win the starting spot and that would most likely cause more of a controversy,

The bottom line is that Cleveland needs to decide before the draft who they believe is going to be the franchise quarterback and deal the other while the still have value.

Derek Anderson could fit in well in Detroit, and maybe even Minnesota.

If any team has any remote interest in Anderson I believe he will be dealt for a possible third round pick or a combo of second day picks.

The Browns have currently three picks in the first 50 selections and have many options.

One option is that the Brownies could try to trade down and collect multiple picks. If this were to happen there could be a chance of seeing players like LB Rey Mauluga, Brandon Crushing, and Clay Mathews Jr. from USC or Beanie Wells being selected by Cleveland. It really depends who is there when the Browns are on the clock and the best available when the Browns were to make their first selection.

If the Browns are stuck keeping the fifth overall pick they will have an interesting route to go.

Many mock drafts have the Browns selecting in the first round players like LB Aaron
WR Curry from Wake Forrest, CB Malcolm Jenkins from Ohio State, DE Brian Orakpo out of Texas, Michael Crabtree from Texas Tech to name a few.

Look for the Browns to take WR Michael Crabtree with their number five overall pick. I believe that WR Braylon Edwards will be traded and if Crabtree is still there. I do not see Cleveland passing up on arguably the most talented player in the draft unless they are able to trade down.

One other player that is also arguable is DE Brian Orakpo from Texas assuming Aaron Curry is off the board as projected. Orakpo gives me some question marks at such a high spot to pick. Mangini may be reminded of Vernon Gholston who was drafted high last year when he coached the Jets. Some believe Orakpo might be a workout warrior and a gamble with making the transition from defensive end to linebacker like Gholston and not a worth risking the number five overall pick on.

With the NFL Draft counting down anything is possible in Cleveland. Look for a few big moves to be made prior to or on draft day. The Browns front office will look to do whatever they think will help the team and there no player safe in the locker room.

Browns fans better hope that they don’t have another Butch Davis era and that’s Eric Mangini and GM George Kokinos know what they are doing.

Browns faithful there is only ten days of suspense and rumors left and anything could happen so brace yourselves for an interesting next ten days.

Willy Taveras had a good day getting on base his last three times in a row up with two walks and a single while stealing two bases.

This win marks the third win in a row for the Reds, whose record is now 4-3.

Up next the Reds go for the sweep at Miller Park as Micah Owings makes his much awaited Reds pitching debut as he takes on Brewers pitcher Braden Looper at 8:05 ET.

Cincinnati Reds vs Pittsburgh Pirates: Aaron Harang Blanks the Buccos 2-0

Reds ace Aaron Harang pitched the best Reds fans have seen him in quite a few starts as he looked dominate.

Harang (1-1) pitched a great day going the distance throwing a complete game shutout.

Aaron Harang gave up a mere three hits while striking out nine and walking none.

Second basemen Brandon Phillips cranked at 411 foot home run in the bottom of the first to drive in the only runs of the game.

Center Fielder Willy Taveras had the only multi hit day as he went 2-3 including a double.

Cather Ramon Hernandez really having a hard time s a Reds so far as he had another hitless game and his batting average so far this year is a .067.

This is definitely not what the Reds thought them getting out of Hernandez since acquiring him from Baltimore for popular outfielder Ryan Freel and two prospects. The season is early yet but it’s still brings a little concern in my opinion.

With the win today the Reds are now 2-5 and now head to Miller Park to play the Brew Crew as Edinson Volquez takes on Milwaukee’s Yovani Gallardo at 8:05 ET.

Reds-Pirates: Johnny Cueto Struggles as Reds Lose, 10-2

The Cincinnatti Reds' bats were quiet today at Great American Ballpark, and the Pirates' pitcher Paul Maholm had an easy day at the office.

The Reds, as a unit, only mustered six hits, with the only extra base hit being a double by pinch hitter Micah Owings.

Brandon Phillips went 2-3 with a pair a singles.

Jay Bruce belted an RBI single in the ninth and he was also credited with an RBI on a fielder’s choice in the seventh that scored Brandon Phillips.

Starting pitcher Johnny Cueto got into trouble early on, giving up a two-run HR to Nate McLouth in the top of the first.

Cueto calmed down, but it was too late as the damage was done.

Johnny Cueto (0-1) pitched six innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits while throwing nine strikeouts and one walk in the loss.

Mike Lincoln came in to pitch the ninth and was hammered, giving up five earned runs on three hits and walking three. This included two homers: a grand slam by Ryan Doumit and a solo shot by Andy LaRoche.

The Reds' record is now 1-3.

Up next, the Reds will play a 1:05 pm rematch with the Pirates on Easter Sunday as ace Aaron Harang (0-1) goes for the Reds against Buccos starter Ian Snell.

Reds-Mets: Votto Shines As The Reds Avoid The Sweep, 8-6

Joey Votto was clutch, again, this afternoon as the Reds got their first win of the season and avoided a sweep.

As the Reds trailed, 0-3, the Mets started the bottom of the third as Center fielder, Willy Taveras, drew a two out walk to and Darnell McDonald followed with a RBI single.

Joey Votto came up next to destroy a 0-1 slider that appeared to hang more than Oliver Perez' wanted to take the lead 4-3 on a three run shot (2).

It was tied at four in the bottom of the fifth with when Joey Votto smashed a RBI single that scored Willy Taveras to reclaim the lead.

Brandon Phillips had a SAC fly and Shortstop Paul Janish added a RBI single added insurance to secure the Reds first win of the season.

Bronson Arroyo (1-0) wasn't at his best but he did enough to get the win. Bronson pitched six innings giving up eight hits, five earned runs. Arroyo recorded four strikeouts to two walks.

Jared Burton worked the top of the seventh and worked 0.1 of an inning giving up to hits and one earned.

David Weathers came in later in the seventh to bail out Burton with a perfect finish of the inning.

Arthur Rhodes pitched a perfect eight with two K's as he has looked very strong early on.

Francisco Cordero (sv-1) worked the ninth to strikeout the side for a 1, 2, 3 game ending save.

The past two games have gave the Reds offense going scoring 15 runs.

Reds Vs Futures: Reds Get Revenge and Win 9-6

Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto pitched well in the final warm up before the regular season begins. Cueto looked dominant as he pitched four innings giving up only one run and four hits while he walked one and struck out one.

Daniel Ray Hererra added yet another scoreless inning to end a very pleasant spring and surprising many.

Reds pitcher Pedro Viola gave the Futures team some hope as he gave up five runs on six hits including two dingers in the 8th.

Josh Roenickie worked the end of the 8th and the 9th for the save.

Pitching for the Futures Jordan Smith gave up all six runs on seven hits and also giving up two homers.

Batting the Reds finally found some spark to get the offense going.

Jerry Harriston Jr. was 2-3 with two RBI's with a two run homer and a double as he looked very good at the dish.

Edwin Encarnacion and Luis Bolivar each had two run homers of their own to put the Reds ahead for good.

Chris Dickerson had a tough triple in 8th which he would later score on a Sac Fly.

For the Futures they didn’t really have much going until the 8th when Chris Valaika hit a three run shot off of Pedro Viola. Todd Frasier added a two run homer off Viola in the same inning to make the score 8-6 but that as close as they would come.

The Reds now will work out at Great American Ballpark Sunday from 1-3 ET as they gear up to do battle Monday against the New York Mets for Opening Day

Reds Vs Reds' Futures: Reds Blown Out By Minors

Reds starter Bronson Arroyo, and high priced closer Francisco Cordero, pitched very poorly again this preseason, as the Reds embarrassed themselves against the Futures team.

Bronson Arroyo pitched only three innings, and gave up six runs and seven hits (2 home runs). Arroyo had four strikeouts and two walks.

Closer Coco Cordero pitched very poorly this afternoon. Cordero worked two innings of relief, giving up four runs (three earned) and a homer.

Mike Lincoln gave up four hits and a run, to add to the whooping, in one inning of work.

For the Futures, Dallas Buck pitched very well until he found some trouble fifth. Buck pitched five innings with three hits and two earned, while striking out six and walking three.

The Reds offense showed again why they need a "BIG BAT" in the middle of the lineup, as the only managed four hits as a team.

Chris Dickerson hit a solo homer in the fifth, to finally get the Reds on the scoreboard.

Johnny Gomes, Adam Rosales and Darnell McDonald all had doubles in the game, and Jerry Harriston Jr. and Johnny Gomes also had a RBI each.

The Reds first round pick last year, Yonder Alonso, made the play right away in the first by hitting a three-run bomb of Bronson Arroyo. Alonso went 2-2 at the dish.

Highly regarded Minor Leaguer Juan Francisco had a huge game with two home runs (one inside the park) and five RBI, going 2-2.

Chris Valiaka went 4-5 with a RBI, and Chris Heisey was a perfect 3-3.

This is the sixth game in a row that the Reds have lost.

The Reds travel to Dayton, OH tomorrow for a 3:05 exhibition game against Minor League All-Stars from Single A through Triple A, for their final tune-up before Opening Day Monday.

As the Reds said goodbye to Ed Smith Stadium Pittsburgh sent the away with another loss to end their spring in Sarasota Florida.

All-Star pitcher Edinson Volquez struggled as he gave up three runs (two earned runs) and walked three and gave up five hits in 3.2 innings pitched. Volquez had four K's.

Daniel Ray Hererra make his case again to be on the 25 man roster come Opening day by pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball again. Herrera has pitched 8 2/3 innings with three hits and eight K's.

Reds-Astros: Bailey Throws Eight K's as Reds Fall Late

Astros 7, Reds 2

The Cincinnati Reds lose again, dropping four straight games heading into their final game tomorrow.

Reds pitcher Homer Bailey looked very impressive, as he pitched six innings of four hit ball with two earned. Bailey had eight K's to only one walk.

Mike Lincoln came in the seventh inning and gave up two runs on two hits.

Relief Bill Bray came in and gave up two runs, followed by Jared Burton, who gave up one more run.

At the dish, infielder Adam Rosales had a HR off Roy Oswalt in the fourth and a two hit and two RBI day.

Homer Bailey also had a double and a single and later scored on a Rosales single.

The Reds' bats came up short again this spring, making it time to start to wonder a little bit if the Reds are lacking a player in the lineup who is a power hitter and has some pop.

The Reds are now 13-19 for the spring.

The Reds head to Ed Smith Stadium to play the Pirates in the final game there, as the Pirates move to Arizona for 2010.

The game kicks off at 1:05 and is the Reds' final spring training game.

Red Edinson Volquez will take on Bucs fellow righty Ian Snell.

Reds Jeff Keppinger Traded To Houston Astros

The Cincinnati Reds have traded infielder Jeff Keppinger to the Houston Astros for a player to be named later.

Houston will have Keppinger in the mix for the third base position. This now reduces the Reds roster to 32 with opening day on Monday.

I will have more information on this deal when it is released.

Reds-Yankees: Jay Bruce Error Kills Reds

Micah Owings was on the mound as he pitched his last game to audition for the No. 5 spot in the starting rotation. Owings pitched into the sixth, but was pulled out with the bases loaded. He gave up four runs (one earned), five K's, three walks, and six hits. A Jay Bruce three-run error in the fourth with two outs buried the Reds' hopes for good.

Nick Masset pitched up and down in two innings of work.

Josh Roenickie and Francisco Cordero pitched well, as they worked one inning each of scoreless relief.

Jay Bruce and Joey Votto both had two hits and an RBI each, as the Reds' bats were quiet once again. Catcher Ramon Hernandez also chipped in with an RBI single.

The Reds are on a three-game losing skid and they are now a mediocre 13-18 for spring.

Up next, the Reds head to Kissimmee, FL to take on the Houston Astros for their final game of the 2009 spring.

Reds Cut Three From Their Spring Roster

The Reds made three more roster moves today, cutting outfielders Jacque Jones and Norris Hopper and young pitcher Daryl Thompson. They were all re-assigned to Class AAA Louisville.

Jones was by far the biggest name on the list, as he was previously a leading candidate for playing time in the outfield. But he batted very poorly (a lousy .089 in 45 at-bats) this spring.

Norris Hopper also lacked offense, batting only .185 (5-for-37) with three steals. He played very little last year while battling injuries.

Thompson never really got a shot due to the depth in the Cincy rotation and 'pen. He made just one appearance this spring, pitching two scoreless innings.

This puts the Reds down to 33 players on the roster, with six days till opening day. The roster will have to be down to 25 by then.

With seven players left to get the "red tag," it will be interesting to see who makes Cincinnati's final squad.

Johnny Cueto Pitches Well But Reds Fall to Pirates in Late Innings

Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto pitched very well but the bullpen couldn’t secure the win as they gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose consecutive games.

Cueto looked in mid-season form as he pitched five innings of three-hit, one-run baseball with two strikeouts and four walks. Cueto got the no decision and improved on his 1.57 ERA.

David Weathers pitched a scoreless sixth and Mike Lincoln followed with another scoreless seventh inning.

Reds Closer Francisco Cordero followed with a scoreless inning of work in the eighth.

Josh Roenike took the loss as he gave two earned runs.

Daniel Ray Hererra worked only against one batter to try to clean up Roenicke's mess but was unsuccessful.

At the plate Adam Rosales hit two doubles in consecutive at-bats to have a nice two-hit and two RBI day.

Lance Nix also had a two-hit day, including a double to add to the Reds 10-hit attack.

The Reds Spring Tanning Record now stands at 13-17

Next game for the Reds is tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. vs. the New York Yankees in Sarasota, FL.

Micha Owings will make his last attempt to win the fifth spot as he does battle with Yankees Joba Chamberlain.

Cincinnati Reds-Tampa Bay Rays: Reds Get Clobbered in Rematch

The Cincinnati Reds played a rematch of yesterday’s game against Tampa Bay and had very different results.

The final score was the Reds 2, Tampa Bay 11.

Jay Bruce connected for a two-run HR of Scott Kazmir in the bottom of the third and that would be the only runs scored by the Reds on this day. The Reds as a team only had a total of five hits as the offense struggled badly on this windy rainy day.

On the hill, starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo pitched very poorly. In four and two-thirds innings Arroyo gave up 14 hits with two walks and three K's. An eight-run eighth didn't help matters either.

Bronson's ERA currently is at a 5.95 for the spring Pedro Viola, Bill Bray, Arthur Rhodes, and Jared Burton pitched well as they helped this game into being really ugly.

The Reds Spring Training record now stands at 13-16.

Under the Radar Reds: Up-and-Coming Pitcher Daniel Ray Herrera

For the first time in many seasons, the Reds have a very solid and deep pitching staff to excite the fan base.

Most of the baseball world forgets that Cincinnati received Daniel Ray Herrera with Edinson Volquez in the Josh Hamilton trade before last season. As it happened, Herrera was actually the deciding factor in the deal with the Texas Rangers.

D-Ray saw action in only seven games last season, but he quickly gave us a glimpse of waht's to come for this very talented and hard-working player. Though he's just 24 years old, we can clearly see that the man's future is bright.

Herrera has pitched almost perfectly this spring, as he has retired a very impressive 25 of 26 batters in 7.2 innings of work in eight appearances this spring. D-Ray also has a very nice eight K to zero BB, and a brilliant 0.00 ERA.

I believe that Daniel Ray Hererra should make the 25-Man Opening Day roster for 'Nati, and he has showed why with his pitching this spring. Herrera has very nasty stuff and can fool hitters at the major league level with his mechanics.

GM Walt Jocketty and manager Dusty Baker have a no-brainer here and need give little thought to the matter: Just get him.

If you’re not a Reds fan, you may not know who Daniel Ray Herrera is or what he brings, but it won’t take long for the sporting nation to see one of the hidden gems of the Bigs.

Reds-Rays: Edinson Volquez Looks Great as the Reds Get the Win, 5-1

The Reds' only All-Star representative, Edinson Volquez, dominated once again as he helped Cincinnati beat the American League Champion Rays.

Volquez pitched five innings and gave up his first run of the spring, but only let up one earned run while striking out three, walking four, and allowing only four hits. Volquez has a very low ERA of 0.47 and his record is 2-0 for the spring.

Relief pitchers Bill Bray and Jared Burton each pitched a scoreless inning, and Nick Masset pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth inning for the save.

Outfielder Jay Bruce singled in two runs in the sixth inning and had a two-hit game with a steal to put the Reds in front for good.

Joey Votto added salt to the wound as he blasted a solo home run in the blast in the eighth inning. Backup catcher Ryan Hanigan added a solo shot in the ninth. Willy Taveres also had a RBI single in the game.

The Reds' record now stands at 13-15.

Next up the Reds head back home to Sarasota to play the Tampa Bay Rays at 1:05 pm ET. Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo will battle against the Rays' talented pitcher, Scott Kazmir.

Top 25 Most Memorable WrestleMania Moments of All Time

The historic 25th Wrestlemania is only days away and with so many memorable moments I put together the top 25 moments in Wrestlemania history.

(25). W.M. XIX- Brock Lesenar's Shooting star press goes wrong.

Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Title against VS Kurt Angle. During this match Brock Lesnar attempted a Shooting Star press off the top rope (which he perfected all week in practice) and didn’t fully flip and he landed straight on his head.

Lesnar went on to shake that off and retain his WWE Championship.

(24). W.M. VII- Virgil defeat The "Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiases.

After years of being in the shadow and as The Million Dollar Man's shadow Virgil got his chance to get back at him after all the years of being pushed around.

The match ended by Rowdy Roddy Piper pulling down the rope on Ted DiBiases when the Ref wasn't paying attention and that knocked him out causing him to lose by count out.

(23). W.M. II- William “Refrigerator” Perry Cost Big John Studd in the NFL VS the WWE Battle Royal.

After Big John Stud eliminated "The Fridge", William Perry got even by pulling out Studd over the top rope and costing him a chance to win the match.

(22). W.M. IV- Andre The Giant Chokes Bob Uecker.

During a pre-match interview the famous Baseball announcer Bob Uecker was guest interviewing Andre The Giant.

Andre had his hand on Bob's shoulder during the interview and Uecker made the joke "Get you foot of my shoulder" which upset Andre and he picked up Bob Uecker by his neck with both hands while chocking him.

(21). W.M. X7 Shane McMahon goes Coast to Coast on Vince McMahon.

This was of the most hardcore matches ever involving the McMahons as the Father and Son combo squared off. The most remembered part is when Shane went from one corner of the ring to the other to hit the Coast to Coast with a trash can on his Father Vince.

(20). W.M. VII- Jake The Snake Vs Rick Martel in a Blindfold match.

The stipulation in this match was a blindfold because a few weeks prior Rick Martel sprayed perfume into the eyes of Jake Roberts’s eyes temporary blinding him. Jake stalked Martel the whole match and finally found The Model for his patented DDT for the victory.

Sid and Papa Shango continued to beat Hulk Hogan when to the shock of everyone (including) Hogan The Ultimate Warriors music hit and he helped out the Hulkster and cleaned house.

This was a huge surprise since The Warrior wasn’t seen by the fans in months prior.

(17). W.M. 2000- Jeff Hardy does a huge Swanton Bomb on Bubba Ray off a huge ladder.

At one point in the match Jeff Hardy finds an Extremly large ladder and Bubba Ray Dudley is on the receiving end of a Swanton Bomb off the ladder through a table.

(15). W.M. III Hulk Hogan Slams Andre The Giant.

HBK made a grand entrance as he came from the roof of the sold out crown on a zip-line down to the ring.

This match had to have Sudden Death Overtime as HBK connected with Sweet Chin Music to defeat Bret Heart and become the WWE Champion for the first time in his illustrious career.

(2). W.M. X7 The Rock VS "Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

This was the biggest shock to me because no one saw this coming. The Rock Defended his WWE Title against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

When the referee was out this gave Mr. McMahon the chance to come down to ringside and he did the unthinkable by handing Stone Cold a chair and helping Stone Cold win the WWE Championship and doing the unthinkable by aligning himself with his former No. 1 rival Stone Cold Steve Austin and shocking the wrestling world.

With so many Wrestlemania moments to choose from it was difficult to come up with just 25. With many more Wrestlemainia's in store for us I can't wait to see more history in the making as Wrestlemania always delivers the best matches and the best world class wrestling talent in the world.

Daniel Ray Herrera pitched another nice day working a run free seventh inning followed a two-strikeout and run-free eighth inning for reliever Mike Lincoln.

The Reds' record is now 12-15 for the spring.

The Reds will be heading tomorrow to Port Charlotte, FL to play The Tampa Bay Rays. All-Star Edinson Volquez will take the mound for the Reds as he faces Jason Hammel at 1:05 p.m. ET.

2009 NFL Draft Running Back Preview

As the NFL Draft approaches, there are plenty of good running backs available.

There is a lot of different style running backs to choose from and I and going to breakdown the top orospects in this Aprils' draft.

I believe the most talented running back in this year’s Draft is junior RB Chris "Beanie" Wells out of The Ohio State. Beanie Wells is a standout playmaker who has the ability to take it to the house on any given play, which he showcased during his career at OSU.

Wells rushed for 1,197 yards on 207 attempts with eight touchdowns. Beanie ran a 4.53 40-yard dash and had a very impressive NFL Combine.

Durability has been the biggest question mark for Wells but he will overcome that in the pros.

Look for Wells to be the first RB off the board in the mid-first round.

The second can’t miss RB in the 2009 draft is Georgia red-shirt sophomore Knowshon Moreno.

The 5'10" 210-pound speedster also makes a strong argument as the top runner in the upcoming draft.

Knowshon rushed for 1,400 yards on 250 carries and had 16 rushing TD. Knowshon can come in and make an immediate impact in the NFL. During the annual NFL combine, Knowshon has great speed, a great field-presence and incredible vision.

Look for Moreno to go off the board in the mid-first round.

The third best RB is Connecticut junior Donald Brown.

This RB has all the tools to be a productive NFL runner as he has great speed, superb hands and is very durable.

Brown rushed for 2,083 yards on 367 carries and 18 scores.

Look for Brown to slide off the board in the late first round.

The fourth most talent RB prospect is Iowa's 5'11" 235-pound junior Shonn Greene.

Greene was under the radar pretty much all season, rushing over 100 yards in every game in 2008 for the Hawkeyes.

Shonn rushed for 1,850 yards with 20 Touchdowns on 308 attempts. Greene was arguably was the most durable and dependable player on a mediocre Iowa team.

Look for this player to hear his name called early in the second round.

The fifth best player available in the NFL Draft is Pittsburgh sophomore Lesean McCoy.

This is another underclassman that rounds off the top RB in the 2009 Draft.

The 5'11" 210-pound Lesean McCoy rushed for 1,403 yards on 284 carries with 21 TD in 2008.

McCoy was the main part of the offense for Pittsburgh for the past two seasons.

He has great speed and is a great playmaker.

Lesean McCoy will find out which NFL city he will call home in the mid-second round.

The talent in this year’s draft is headlined by underclassmen, and it will be interesting to see which teams these fine prospects will play for next season.

Watch out for sleepers, which include RB Javon Ringer of Michigan State and P.J. Hill from Wisconsin.

Ohio State's Top Five Freshman of 2009

Jim Tressel is at it again with another superb recruiting class and here is the Top Five freshman who will make an impact for the Buckeyes right away in 2009.

The No. 1 impact freshman is running back Jaamal Berry. Berry is an explosive, fast-paced back who will play as a freshman and help ease the loss of Chris "Beanie" Wells and help carry the workload with Daniel "Boom" Herron and Brandon Saine.

Berry, out of Miami Palmetto High School, ran an amazing 4.31 40-yard-dash. Look to see this 5'11", 185 pound freshman make an immediate name for himself, fitting in perfect during option plays with running QB Terelle Pryor.

The No. 2 impact freshman is outside linebacker Dorian Bell out of Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville, PA.

At 6'0", 200 pounds, some say Bell might not have the ideal size but quickly makes up for it with his toughness and hard hitting playmaking skills. His athleticism will help him play right away from the voids of NFL bound linebackers James Laurinaitis and Marcus Freeman. Bell will play right away and have the opportunity to showcase his skills.

The No. 3 impact freshman is wide receiver Corey Brown from Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville, PA.

Brown is a huge threat at 6'1", 180 pounds, All-State playmaker who can read defenses and has great speed and route running ability. After losing Brian Robiskie and Brian Hartline to the NFL Draft, he will be a nice fit since there are a few open spots at wide receiver.

The No. 4 impact freshman is 6'1", 175 pound corner C.J. Barnett out of Northmont Senior High School in Dayton, OH.

The heavily recruited corner also received offers from Florida, Miami (FL), Stanford, and Cincinnati.

Barnett plans to enroll early and should play right away with the loss of seniors Malcolm Jenkins and Donald Washington. Barnett brings a lot to the table and is a physical corner that is great in man and zone coverages.

The No. 5 impact player is wide receiver Duron Cater out of Saint Thomas Aquinas School in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Similar to Brown, he will help out Pryor and his pass game a lot.

At 6'3", 183 pounds Carter's height and soft hands stand out a lot, and it doesn’t hurt that he learned from his father, former OSU and NFL great Wide out Cris Carter. Carter has great ability to make tough catches, make defenders miss, and break tackles.

The Buckeyes have lost a lot of great talent to the NFL Draft but Tressel is prepared once again and cannot wait to show the NCAA what he is got in store for the 2009 season. It seems like every year Tressel doesn't rebuild he reloads.

In my mind, these five players will play right away and give Buckeye fans some excitement this season.
