Come on Hank Steinbrenner, Give It Up and Accept the Yankees Are Junk

When will this guy give up and accept the fact that the Yankees are an average team with a big paycheck?

I read on ESPN.com that Hank Steinbrenner believes Joba Chamberlain is a waste of talent because he is a set-up man that throws 100-mph and he wants him in the rotation.

Steinbrenner even went as far to say, "You just don't do that. You have to be an idiot to do that."

This is where things get really comical to me. The man refers to himself and the New York Yankees organization as a bunch of idiots!

Ever since Hank Steinbrenner has taken over the responsibilities as head honcho of the Yankees, he has made a mockery of what use to be the dynasty of the New York Yankees.

His reign of humility started with a preseason spit fest by calling Red Sox Nation a bunch of fakes and declaring that the Yankees were rulers of the universe. Right, let me know when this happens so I can be sure to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. This guy's intelligence level has got to be somewhere along the same lines as a grapefruit.

The real issue here is that Steinbrenner is scared his Yankees are falling quickly out of the spotlight because they have taken a back seat to the more impressive Boston Red Sox. His jealous ego and loud mouth is destroying the legacy that the Yankees have managed to sustain for the past century.

Every time I see Hanky in the headlines, I get so excited because I know that I will be provided with a new source of humor for a good long while.

So to you Hank, thank you for the comedy and I can't wait to hear what garbage you can come up with next.

Red Sox-A's: Recovering From Two Strange Mornings

I am new to Bleacher Report, but I have heard a great deal of wonderful things about the site. With that out, I figured that it was time that I jumped aboard the Bleacher Bandwagon.

Red Sox...what are they to me? Of course, they are a team. Yes, they are the defending World Series Champions. And by the way, they do have the second-highest payroll in baseball. To me, they are the reason that I woke up two consecutive mornings at 5 a.m. (CT) to watch a live broadcast of Opening Day 2008 from Japan.

The idea of baseball in the morning is wonderful. Wake up, turn on the coffee, turn on the TV and dissolve away into the universe of baseball. Not such a bad deal, right? Well, I thought the same thing until my last two morning encounters of "Breakfast and Baseball.”

Tuesday morning: ESPN2’s coverage of the Red Sox-A's was supposed to begin at 5 a.m.

Viewers across America quickly learned that this scheduled television program of Good Morning Red Sox Nation was really Good Night Blackout. After battling with MLB.com, I (along with many other Red Sox faithful) found myself watching the game in the top of the fourth inning through MLB.TV. Things got interesting…10 innings...Sox Win, Paps gets the save.

Wednesday morning: ESPN2’s coverage of the Red Sox vs. A's finally comes through after 24-hour delay from Tuesday. Ha! That is the only thought that I can really come up with when trying to describe any feelings towards the display of competitive baseball that was supposed to be exhibited by the Red Sox on Wednesday morning.

I find it quite appalling when Manny Ramirez is the only player on the Sox that is getting anything done.

After two mornings of 5 a.m. Red Sox baseball, I came to the conclusion that Major League Baseball should be confined to North America and Bud Selig should be slapped in the face with a trout for coming up with an idea like this. I want my sleep back and most of all I want my Sox back in the United States.
