The 1/2/2012 promos have had the IWC abuzz with excitement.
Is it Chris Jericho? Is it Shane and Stephanie McMahon? Is it Brock Lesnar? Is it the start of John Cena's heel turn?
Although most clues point towards the return of Y2J (with the most blatant pointer being the notebook with the name "Chris" scored out by a CM Punk-esque "X"), no one is 100 percent certain of what wrestler will make his presence felt on tonight's RAW.
However, I for one think that the start of a heel run by John Cena could be in the works.
The WWE have been teasing it for weeks, with Roddy Piper, Mick Foley and, most recently, Kane all having segments attempting to push Cena over the edge.
Even Cena's absence from the recent TLC event seemed to be a test of whether CM Punk and the rest of the roster could carry a PPV without their No.1 man.
But having said that, I don't believe that Vince McMahon would risk turning his top draw 180 degrees in an attempt to please the baying IWC masses.
So then, is Chris Jericho the man coming to claim what is rightfully his in the new year?
Despite all the talk of the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla returning, the Fozzy frontman has denied everything WWE-related that has come his way via his Twitter account.
Last week, he flat-out said he was done with wrestling.
But really, would Y2J actually admit to his thousands of followers that he was coming back to the squared circle? That would totally ruin the suspense and surprise of it all.
Even Brock Lesnar's sudden retirement throws his name into the mix.
The former WWE superstar left the company in 2004, but it has long been speculated that the big man would return in the future.
Which leads me to the question of this article—would I rather see Cena turn heel, Brock Lesnar or Chris Jericho?
Although a Cena heel turn opens up dozens of possibilities, and Lesnar would be a massive draw, I think I'd rather see Jericho.
Sure, I'm not Cena's biggest fan, but I'm not going to be that disappointed if he continues with the same bland, kid-pleasing character that he's portraying now.
In fact, since Cena hasn't been all that prominent on RAW of late, I'm already slightly happier.
If Lesnar returned, I'd be incredibly surprised and also very happy, although I can't see him returning full time to the business and this somewhat dampens my enthusiasm.
However, I would be almost ecstatic if Jericho was to return.
As someone who grew up in the Attitude Era, I saw a lot of Y2J, and he quickly became one of my favourite wrestlers.
Like many of his fans worldwide, I was gutted and slightly angry when he left the company to pursue a career as a rock star.
Nevertheless, each time he comes back to the WWE, all is quickly forgiven.
So what do you think? Cena? Lesnar? Jericho? Or someone else? Sound off in the comments below.
But one thing's for sure—tonight's RAW is going to be a must-watch episode.
And that's the bottom line, cos Colin Stone said so!
