Michelle McCool Is a Heel...Now What?

Christi LottCorrespondent IJanuary 2, 2009

After losing the Divas title to Maryse, McCool finally completed a teased heel turn in attacking her former friend Maria. So, Michelle's a heel. O-okay.

The question now becomes what will this accomplish. She is entangled in a feud with Maria, keeping her eye away from the title, which I believe is personally a good thing. But the feud can only last for so long, so what then?

According to some reports, being a heel hasn't stopped McCool from attacking her "allies" Victoria, Natalya and Maryse. For me, I'm still seeing the same Michelle, she's just an outright bitch now. I still see her as being made to be better than the rest of the divas on the SD! roster who only loses when distracted. Technically the only ones to outright beat her cleanly are Maryse and Maria.

My biggest complaint of Michelle comes in the personality and chairsma department, which she has never been to in the Diva Superstore. Although it's early, she seems to be having the same problems whether as a face or heel and that's with making people care enough whether to like her or hate her beyond being a face or heel.

It will also be interesting to see what this does to the roster. The face side is now seriously weak with Maria and The Bellas being the only faces. SD! is now the opposite of RAW in that sense. Gail's eventual debut will definitely even things out, but I wonder if someone will be turned as well. My personal choice would be Victoria.

Whether she admits it or not, a retirement is inevitable, sooner rather than later. With McCool's sudden turn, Victoria could become the savior. The roster's oldest and longest tenured Diva could be the true savior and also go after Maryse's title, getting a final title run.

Whatever happens, it should be interesting. I'll say this though, heel McCool is much more interesting than face McCool in at least one sense: I can outright boo her now with no problems.
