The Chicago Bears weren't great this season, but they were able to struggle to a 9-7 season and had a few bright spots.
Some of the close players that won't be mentioned are...
Devin Hester for becoming a wide receiver. Although he didn't return any to the house, he was a good receiver and showed potential.
Lance Briggs for being the only Bear to make the Pro Bowl. He had over 100 tackles and officially took over for Brian Urlacher as the best linebacker.
And Robbie Gould for being a nerdy kicker who still gets the job done. He made 26-of-29 attempts this season and was perfect from under 40 yards.
But who is the player that meant the most to the Bears this season? Who is the MVB?
Matt Forte was the rock of the Bears offense this season, and he was great at carrying the rock.
He had over 1,700 total yards and 12 touchdowns, and he was a great blocker as well. Once Chris Williams got back from injury, Forte played even better, and gives the Bears hope for next season.
Daniel Manning helped the Bears avoid a lackluster special teams season by taking over for Devin Hester on kick return duties and he was spectacular.
He returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown against the Saints and he gave the Bears great field position on almost every return.
Alex Brown took over for Tommie Harris as the anchor of the defensive line late in the season.
He had six sacks, only an average amount, but still more than any other Bear had.
He was always there on timely stops and he blocked the field goal to save the Bears season hopes against the Packers.
Greg Olsen was one of just two players to be mentioned for the Pro Bowl, as he made it as an alternate.
He was second on the Bears in receiving yards and first on the Bears in receiving touchdowns. It is looking like he was worth the first round pick he received.
Forte was a great player for the Bears and one of the only reasons that the Bears were able to stay in contention. With more stability at the quarterback position and a healthy offensive line, look for Forte to be even better next season.
