According to a tweet this morning from ESPN's Buster Olney, former San Francisco Giants outfielder Cody Ross is close to signing a free-agent deal with the Colorado Rockies.

Ross, 31, became a fan favorite in San Fran after his heroics in the 2010 postseason when he batted .294/.390/.686 (1.076 OPS) with 5 HR and 10 RBI in 15 games. Two of his homers came against Phillies ace Roy Halladay, prompting fans to note that Cody Ross spelled backwards is Sorry Doc.

A move to Denver means Ross would stay in the National League West.

What will you do, Giants fans, when The Boss steps up to the plate at AT&T Park in a Rockies uniform?
