The United States will take the ice tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern time to kick off their tournament play in Group B of the 2012 World Junior Championship.

Team USA is considered to be one of the favorites in this year's tournament, and a quick look at their roster gives a handful of reasons why. Let's take a look at the best American players in the 2012 WJC.

Jack Campbell - Jack Campbell is the best player for the United States in the 2012 World Junior Championship. He was a big part of the bronze medal team in 2011, and has only improved on his game since then. The Stars' prospect will get his chance to shine in 2012. Campbell also has a pair of talented backups in Andy Iles and John Gibson, giving the U.S. the best group of goaltenders in the tournament.

Jacob Trouba - Jacob Trouba is likely a top ten pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, and he'll get a chance to improve his stock playing against some of the world's best prospects in this tournament. The 6-foot-2-inch defenseman is one of the strongest players on the United States National Development Team Program Under-18 Team.

Charlie Coyle - Charlie Coyle has the potential to be the very best forward in the entire WJC this year. He'll get to play alongside Nick Bjugstad, so they both should be fun to watch.
