The Miz and 7 WWE Superstars That'll Be Hated in 2012

0 of 8

I was watching The Miz's video package from WrestleMania this year, and I started watching a few videos with the song "Hate Me Now." Then it occurred to me that Miz is not the only superstar to "hate." Especially not as 2012 rolls in and so many stars are destined for a big payoff if all goes well.

Some of these names will shock you and some won't, but more than likely, these superstars will get a cult following of people to bash them.

I'm not saying I dislike the people on this list. I actually do like some of these people, and some of these people I don't like. (See? It's already starting.) The point is, I've no doubt, for one reason or another, the following superstars will be getting a lot of heat, if not from the public, then from members of the IWC.

John Cena

1 of 8

John Cena is a no-brainer for a list like this, and honestly, he should have been the one playing that video package at Mania with the way he's been treated the past few years.

It doesn't matter who he's facing—CM Punk, The Miz, The Rock or Alberto Del Rio—Cena just can't catch a break like he used to, and it's now more evident than ever. Honestly, unless Cena, at the very least, tweaks the character he has now, he's probably going to be a permanent feature as far as hated superstar lists go.

Dolph

Honestly, this is one of the guys I'm already starting to dislike. But that's good, 'cause he gets that good kind of heel heat from me, instead of X-Pac heat.

When you have a nickname like the Show-Off and, to make matters worse, one you gave yourself, it's not too hard to imagine you're gonna get people to hate you. But luckily for Dolph, he's a minor annoyance as far as his gimmick goes, and his in-ring ability gives him enough leeway to be a show-off.

Doesn't mean people aren't going to hate this guy come 2012, especially with so many people pushing for him to feud with CM Punk. That's gonna get really annoying.

Alicia Fox

Despite her popularity with the casual fans, after reading an article regarding plans to push Alicia Fox, it's hard to imagine she won't get hate. Especially considering she's beaten/injured the IWC golden girl, Beth Phoenix.

Personally, I'm a fan of A-Fox. I'll be the first to admit she's not perfect, but nobody is and we can all have an off week. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see a cascade of negative reviews if Alicia comes to take the title off Ms. Phoenix at some point come 2012.

CM Punk

4 of 8

The ever incomparable CM Punk will be one superstar who'll be getting a lot of heat in the coming year, especially if he is to walk into Mania with the WWE Championship. I'll admit it: I'm not a fan. Some of that heat will be coming from yours truly, and I'm not ashamed to say that I don't get the hype.

CM Punk is considered by many to be the new face of the WWE. That alone draws massive heat, considering how just about every top star gets hated on, and if this current trend with Punk as focal point continues, things will be no different.

The Miz

5 of 8

The man without whom this article probably wouldn't have come to fruition and the man who most people have actually come to love to hate would surely have to be on this list, right? I mean, he's been given credit for taking out not only R-Truth but John Morrison as well.

Aside from that, as rumor goes, Miz is being groomed for another run with the WWE Championship, and I can't help but think that's gonna PO a lot of people. Honestly, it amazes me how far The Miz has come, and yet it doesn't shock me how much hate Miz garners and will continue to garner come 2012.

Zack Ryder

6 of 8

The current United States Champion, Internet Champion and my personal favorite superstar is one superstar who's already getting the heat that comes with success. A lot of it may stem from misconceptions.

People don't get the "Woo Woo Woo," the "Broskis" and Zack Ryder in general. They may write him off as a Jersey Shore joke (ironic, considering he was doing this gimmick before JS was on TV).

Regardless of the reason, his success, like many others', is more than enough reason to garner hate. Woo Woo Woo. You Know It.

R-Truth

7 of 8

This one's a bit out of left field, I know, but rumor has it that R-Truth is in for an even bigger year in 2012 than he had in 2011, and if there's one common denominator when it comes to hate, it's success.

R-Truth is arguably one of the best WWE superstars in the ring and on the mic to not have held a World Title, and nothing makes people more mad than when they perceive an old guy (Truth being about 40) taking the spot of a younger superstar.

With his suspension over, Truth will likely pickup where he left off, and that's getting in the face of The Miz. Remember when I said Miz was being groomed for another WWE Championship? I wonder who would be a good choice to take the belt from him? Any ideas?

The End

So, what did you think? Any surprises on my list? Too predictable? Anyone you think I left off?

Honestly, this wasn't a complete list. I know Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and, hell, even Christian will get some hate this year. Sin Cara isn't immune either, and neither is Sheamus.

This was just a short list of people who'll be successful this upcoming year.

It's sad, really, how success brings out the worst in those around us. Nobody hates anyone until they make it big. John Cena, CM Punk and Zack Ryder are all perfect examples.

    Oh well.

Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading.
