Rumors & Realities: January's Back!

It is January again and Rumors & Realities stood drowsy and drunk just like a Juande Ramos on any day at White Hart Lane and shouted "open sesame" for the transfer window as the clock hit 12 on New Year's eve.

Big News One: It is January again! But that is easy-to-get news—unless you don't have a calendar at home.

But the real big news is that Arsene Wenger is being touted as the favorite to resolve the drunken decision of appointing Juande Ramos at Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Will Arsene Wenger quit The Gunners after 12-and-a half years of success? It remains to be seen, but with a reported offer of £25million contract, Wenger should really consider starting to love cash. If it were Wenger, R-R would move on.

Jermaine Pennant is a wanted man-and not only to warm the benches at Anfield. Pennant is a January target for Real Madrid, Wigan and now, Hull City!

Hull manager Phil Brown is ready to take Pennant permanently—if the price is right. The Hull bids should start from pennies to £3m.

With crazy news being thrown around, it really does feel like January!

According to crazy reports R-R keeps getting, Michael Owen is an Inter target. Knowing Mourinho, the Portuguese manager is unlikely to want a Kezman-like figure with a Ronaldo-like history with injuries.

The Mirror says Liverpool are ready to cut their losses on Andrea Dossena.

The £7m-rated Italian full back would be interested to get the first ticket for a flight back to Italy. The 27 year-old might be ready to break the policy at "30-plus year-olds only club", Milan.

Milan are interested to close the gaps in their leaky defense. Carlo Ancelotti has already tried covering the holes with his fingers, but that didn't work. Surprisingly?

Milan's £8m bid for Liverpool's Daniel Agger, 24, has been turned down.

However, the Milan giants have made a £4m offer for Arsenal's William Gallas, 31. And he fits more, doesn't he?

While Kolo Toure's transfer request has been turned down which means City should spend on an undeserving target instead.

Meanwhile in Manchester, the quiet Red Devils are watching the Citizens go chaotic. Manchester City have a wish-list that has overwhelmed even Santa Claus.

According to credible sources this time, City are close to landing Chelsea's Wayne Bridge for £12m. This should be good news for Chelsea fans as Luiz Felipe Scolari will then have £12m to spend.

Scolari is tracking Roma and Brazil star Cicinho. He should have an extra £5m to get a striker (Insert sarcastic comment here).

While in London, Arsenal are tracking an R-R favorite Alessandro Rosina. The Italian is the creative heart at Torino. Wenger wants him on loan with a view to sealing a permanent deal in the future should Wenger have a future in London.

Portsmouth are lining up a three million Euro bid for Lyon and France midfielder Sidney Govou. Hasn't Tony Adams watched the Euros? What's next Bafetimbi Gomis to Real?

Finally, the soap opera that refuses to fade away!

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is happy in Manchester and will not be joining Real Madrid!

With the Ronaldo and the Beautiful soap opera, R-R comes to a close.

Until next time,

Rumors & Realities is a series about the latest transfer buzz in the football world.
