Chelsea hopes to take all three points against Fulham on the day after Christmas, as the club has drawn its two previous matches to Wigan and Tottenham.

Missed scoring chances cost them a draw at White Hart Lane on Thursday, and now, Chelsea must win their next few matches, or their Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool, will catch them in the league table.

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the table with 32 points.

Fulham, on the other hand, have struggled this season, and are in the middle of a grueling stretch of matches that has them face Manchester United, the Blues and Arsenal in a four-match period.

Fulham were thrashed by United, 5-0, on Wednesday, and really need a positive result against Chelsea to avoid dropping near the relegation zone.

Let's look at everything you need to know about this exciting matchup that is important to both clubs.

Daniel Sturridge's goal for Chelsea against Tottenham on Thursday helped the Blues earn a draw in a match they should have won, but the Englishman's continued success is certainly a welcomed sight.

Sturridge has been in sensational form in recent weeks, and now has 10 goals in Premier League play this season.

His speed and goal scoring ability is really creating problems for opposing clubs this season, and he is the only striker that has been consistent for Chelsea in recent matches.

He will definitely be a player to watch for Chelsea on Monday.

Player to watch for Fulham: Clint Dempsey

The American midfielder is one of Fulham's best players, and his performance in the center of the pitch will be important for his club's chances of upsetting Chelsea and taking a much-needed three points on Monday.

Dempsey can score goals but he is also a quality playmaker, and his job against the Blues will be to create scoring chances for his teammates.

Key Matchup: Fulham attack versus Chelsea back four

The Chelsea defense has been hit with injuries and poor play this season. Center back David Luiz has been poor in defending at times and recently received a yellow-card ban, while Brazilian teammate Alex hasn't played much of a role at all this season.

Captain John Terry has to deal with the worry of a criminal charge for racism, and Branislav Ivanovic was substituted with an injury against Tottenham on Thursday.

Chelsea must keep their composure at the back and make sure they don't allow Fulham to have too many scoring chances.

What They're Saying

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has had a disappointing season thus far, and he recently shared some of his thoughts on his exit from Anfield this past January.

"They made promises that they didn't keep and I left because I realised I didn't have time to be part of a project that would take years. I have nothing against the Liverpool fans. I didn't want to leave Liverpool the way I did but the club lied. I was let down and I don't understand why the fans hate me."

Prediction: Chelsea win 3-0

Fulham struggled to keep Manchester United from dominating them on Wednesday, and against a Chelsea side with more attacking talent than the Red Devils, Fulham will again be defeated by a top Premier League club.

Fulham has scored just 18 goals in the league this season, and do not have any match winners capable of beating Chelsea.

The Blues attack is too strong, and with Sturridge and possibly Fernando Torres up front, Chelsea will have little problem beating Fulham on Monday.
