TNA News: "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan Lands Heavyweight Title
For all of the fans that have waited and waited to see "The DNA of TNA" get his due, your time has come.
According to wrestlingnewssource.com, TNA's new India promotion "Ring Ka King" aka wait for it...King of the Ring held a taping on December 20th. Those in attendance witnessed Matt Morgan defeat Scott Steiner to become the first Ring Ka King champion.
Even though this is TNA's India project it's still a positive step for Morgan's career. Not only did Morgan land gold in India, so did former WWE stars Chavo Guerrero and DH Smith, who were crowned tag-champs during the event. Unfortunately, I have been unable to obtain a pic of the newly crowned champions and their titles.
This is pretty big for TNA as they had a lot of former WWE stars on this India roster. Currently their roster boasts former WWE stars like Chris Masters, Nick Dinsmore, Luke Gallows, Trevor Murdoch, and Sheik Abdul Bashir.
These guys were certainly not main-eventers, but they definitely established themselves over the years. Hopefully, this market will take off for TNA as they have appeared to have tapped into a market that the WWE currently does not dominate.
So let me know your thoughts: Is this a good move for Morgan or will this title run not benefit him in the long run?
