It is that time of year. The NFL Year End Awards have already begun with the Offensive Rookie and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards going out. Also Comeback Player of the Year was awarded this afternoon.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan and New England Patriots LB Jerod Mayo have been the first two to take home the hardware. Then Miami Dolphins QB Chad Pennington followed up with his second NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.

Now we wait to see how will take home the MVP, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year Awards.

Bleacher Report held voting for each award. Over the weeks the votes poured in and the results have gone final. Here are the 2008 NFL Regular Season Awards result, as voted on by the talented Bleacher Report writers.

Offensive Rookie of the Year: QB Matt Ryan

As stated earlier, the Associated Press has already voted Matt Ryan as Offensive Rookie of the Year. Well, our writers here agreed with that pick.

Matt Ryan won Bleacher Reports Offensive Rookie of the Year with 43 percent of the votes.

Ryan has lead the Falcons to an 11-5 record after they went just 4-12 in 2007. They are now geared up to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Runner Up: Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (20 percent)

Defensive Rookie of the Year: LB Jerod Mayo

Again, this award has already been handed out by the Associated Press to New England Patriots LB Jerod Mayo. Again, the Bleacher Report Writers agreed.

Jerod Mayo received 54 percent of the vote to win Bleacher Report's Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Mayo helped lead this Patriots defense to an 11-5 record, despite coming up short of the playoffs.

Runner Up: Washington Redskins Safety Chris Horton (27 percent)

NFL Comeback Player of the Year: QB Chad Pennington

This one has just gone final as well, with the Associated Press awarding Pennington his second Comeback Player of the Year award.

Wow, our writers sure know how to pick them, agian they agree as Miami Dolphins QB Chad Pennington has won Bleacher Report's NFL Comeback Player of the Year award with 53 percent of the vote.

Pennington has lead the 1-15 Dolphins from a year ago to 11-5 and a division title. What a turnaround!

Runner Up: Tennessee Ttians QB Kerry Collins (17 percent)

NFL Coach of the Year: Tony Sparano

The Associated Press' winner of the award has not been announced yet, but it our writers have already made their selection.

Miami Dolphins Head Coach Tony Sparano has won the Bleacher Report's NFL Coach of the Year award with 58 percent of the votes.

Like Pennington, this is Sparano's first season with the Dolphins and his first as a head coach. This a very deserving pick, even with the stiff competition.

Runner Up: Tie, Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin and Tennessee Titans' Jeff Fisher (12 percent)

Offensive Player of the Year: QB Drew Brees

It was a disappointing season for the New Orleans Saints, but you can't take away from the number Drew Brees has put up.

You voted and Drew Brees is Bleacher Report's Offensive Player of the Year with 39 percent of the vote in one of the closer races.

Brees came within 16 yards of breaking Dan Marino's single-season passing record. He had the chance to do it on the last play of week 17's game, but instead he aired it out down the field for an incompletion. Still a great statistical season for the QB.

Runner Up: Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (26 percent)

Defensive Player of the Year: Safety Ed Reed

The early votes had Cowboys DeMarcus Ware as the projected winner, but as the last two games came to a close, one player stepped it up.

Baltimore Ravens Safety Ed Reed is Bleacher Report's Defensive Player of the Year with 52 percent of the votes.

Reed has remained a staple of the Ravens' defense and looks to help them back to the Super Bowl.

Runner Up: Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware (27 percent)

2008 NFL MVP: QB Peyton Manning

No one can deny the leader this man is. With the Colts season looking to be a long one after a shaky start, Manning rallied the troops and there has been no looking back.

Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning is Bleacher Report's 2008 NFL MVP winner with 57 percent of the votes and the biggest margin of victory over any other award.

Runner Up: Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner (9 percent)

A Quick Thank You

I would like to take the time to thank Bleacher Report for asking me to run this voting process.

Without the help of fellow writers Andrew Kneeland, Sean Crowe, Max Techyan, and all of you, this would not have been possible. We had a great response in voting and it was a great experience.

Let the Playoffs begin!

Thank you and Happy New Year!
