When word broke last season that Jaromir Jagr was thinking about returning to the NHL, it brought mixed emotions among hockey fans everywhere.

Jagr last played in the NHL in the 2007-08 season. He played all 82 games for the New York Rangers, and tallied 25 goals and 46 assists. After the season concluded, he took off for the KHL, where he played with Avangard Omsk for the last three seasons.

When the Boston Bruins took home the Stanley Cup last season, the rumors began to swirl as to where exactly Jagr might end up. Reports had Jaromir going back to finish up his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and to play alongside hockey great Sidney Crosby. It was the most logical scenario, as Mario Lemieux is now the owner of the Penguins, and it wasn't much of a secret that the two were buddies.

Other reports had Jagr going to Detroit, which had Red Wings fans pretty excited. The reports were going back and forth, and nobody was sure exactly where he would end up. Days before free agency, there had been a rumor circulating that there was a third team involved, but most people could not confirm who it was. Who would have thought that mystery team would have been the Philadelphia Flyers?

On July 1, 2011, Jagr signed a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, to the shock of hockey fans everywhere. While most people were a bit upset with the amount spent on Jagr, it sure seems as though he's living up to his contract.

Pittsburgh fans felt betrayed, and for good reason. After all, he did play 11 seasons with the Penguins over the course of his career. They felt as though it was a lock that Jagr would come back to play for his old team, but that was not the case. There were even some reports that he was on a plane to Pittsburgh just days before he signed his contract.

Now, Jagr is a fan favorite in Philly, and happy where he is. But the real question is, what happens after this season?

I'm sure the Flyers would like to lock him up for a few more years, but does Jagr want to remain with Philadelphia? From the way he acts and talks, it seems as though he is happy in Philadelphia, but does he want to remain a Flyer? Is this where he wants to finish his career?

If you ask me, I think it's just a matter of time before the Flyers lock up Jagr to an extension, but I can't help but feeling they may take a pass on him given their cap situation at the end of the year. Nothing is certain yet, but I'm sure Philly fans would love to have him here for a while.

So, what do you think? Do you want Jagr to finish his career in Philadelphia? Do you think he will?
