Tim Tebow just did not have enough fourth-quarter magic to make a comeback.
Denver made a lot mistakes through the game. Between fumbling the ball three times and having seven penalties, there was just too much ground for Tebow to make up.
A big letdown for the Broncos was their defense.
After the first quarter, the Patriots scored 34 unanswered points. Patriots QB Tom Brady threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Brady even ran a for a touchdown.
While Denver was able to hold down Rob Gronkowski, only allowing four catches for 53 yards, another tight end stepped up for New England. Aaron Hernandez caught nine passes for 129 yards and one touchdown.
What about Tim Tebow?
He fumbled twice in the game while showing flashes of greatness. In the end, he was sacked for 29 yards trying to make a play on fourth down. Tebow threw for 194 yards, but no touchdowns or interceptions passes. He did rush for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
While many people will want to say Tebow proved he can't play quarterback, I disagree. He still needs time to develop like any young quarterback.
Tebow made some great throws that drove the New England secondary crazy. He also made some big mistakes with fumbles and a 29-yard sack. Those moments should just be reminders that he is basically a rookie quarterback. The Broncos could not work with Tebow in the offseason to work his skills like they will this upcoming offseason.
Tebow will develop with time. I feel that it is not time to judge him now. I want to see how he finishes this season off.
The Broncos can win the AFC West and head to the playoffs. Remember, the playoffs have games where anything can happen. We'll see what Tebow can do if he gets his chance.
