USA vs. the World: Hot Female Athletes Edition

Everyone knows the best looking women in the world come from the United States, right? We might have this guy on our side, but at least we have some major league hotties.

Think about it. The USA is home to beauties such as Kate Upton, Jessica Biel, Cindy Crawford, Olivia Munn, and Megan Fox. They even have women from other countries migrating here just to make a buck. It would be hard to say that the country with the sexiest women was not the US, unless we narrowed it down to women in sports.

This is where the deficit is reduced to a dot. The World comes crawling back into the forefront of the race when we talk about the beauties of the sports world. 

So who wins? In a battle that pits the USA against the World, who has the hotter sports hotties?

30. Kim Couture: USA

Kim Couture took the long road to stardom. She was married to UFC legend Randy Couture before becoming a competitive female mixed martial arts fighter herself.

She has not been too impressive in the octagon but that hardly matters with a name like Couture and a body like whoa.

29. Kim Yu-Na: South Korea

The news that Kim Jong Il died has to be good news for South Korea, right?

I am not too interested in politics, note to readers, but I do understand that with his death comes a chance for peace between North and South Korea. If not, the consolation prize is that South Korea has the better looking women thanks to figure skater Kim Yu-Na.

28. Jenny Fletcher: Canada

Jenny Fletcher is a female "gym Junkie" and loves to model. She has been modeling and training since she was 15 years old.

Kenny Powers said it best when talking about triathlons, "I do SPORTS. Not try to be the best at exercising."

As long as Jenny looks the way she does, she can exercise all the live long day.

27. Danica Patrick: USA

Does anyone have Danica Patrick overload? Have we gotten to a point in time where enough is enough with the female NASCAR driver?

Most people would say yes but I say no way. With her incredibly sexy looks and downright determination to win at anything she does, she will always hold a spot in these lists. Especially when she represents the USA.

26. Christina Vukicevic: Norway

The first time I spoke about Christina Vukicevic, I had trouble getting out my words. It might have had something to do with her last name.

This time, although I still cannot pronounce her last name, I would rather spend time telling you that the beautiful Norwegian hurdler is set to be in the next Olympics. Time to get my new DVR.

25. Hilary Knight: USA

When I first begin to research these lists, I rarely come across female hockey players that, for lack of a better analogy, did not look like lumberjacks. 

Hilary Knight is not only a beautiful woman but she is also not a lumberjack. She is far from it. She is the beginning of a new trend in hockey, beautiful hockey women. It could happen.

24. Maria Kirilenko: Russia

Tennis anyone? If I only had a chance to redo my life, I would take up tennis when I was three years old. I try to play now and all I end up doing is hitting the tennis ball 900 feet in the air.

It is hardly likely that I would have ever been as good as Maria Kirilenko, but who knows. I would have been a lot closer than I am today.

23. Alizee Paradis: Canada

Alizee Paradis is the hidden gem of Canada. She is hardly a secret to me, but for most of my readers, this is the first time they are hearing about her.

She is a retired tennis player from the University of Cincinnati that has decided to take up modeling as her profession. Not a bad call from the looks of things.

22. Alana Blanchard: USA

Alana Blanchard is bringing American female surfing to a whole new level of hotness. She is making sure that she gets respect on the waves but is also noticed in the magazines or on television.

Over the past year her fame has grown thanks to the release of the movie Soul Surfer, the surfing flick about Bethany Hamilton.

21. Stephanie Rice: Australia

Stephanie Rice, who recently had arthroscopic surgery on her right shoulder, has to push back her Olympic practices a few weeks. I had that exact same surgery on my shoulder and it took me a lot longer to use my arm, but she will be coming back to train for the Olympics? She is a soldier.

No need to worry though, she will still be in London come August. 

20. Kimiko Zakreski: Canada

Snowboarding in Canada is not just a sport, it is a lifestyle choice. Kimiko Zakreski understood that and chose to snowboard at an early age.

She now represents Canada at the Winter Olympics. She was in Vancouver in 2010 and will be in Sochi in 2014 as well.

19. Natalie Gulbis: USA

If Natalie Gulbis does not make another list, I would not be a happy camper. If this is the last time she is ever mentioned in a list of sexy athletes, I will be angry. 

She revolutionized being sexy and talented at the same time. She might not have been the first but she was one of the original women we can remember for giving us a reason to watch women's golf.

Can you recall any other female golfer before Gulbis? Exactly.

18. Anastasia Ashley: USA

Grab a surfboard and hit the water if you want to meet the beautiful Anastasia Ashley. Chances are she is out in the water, hitting the waves.

She looks good in a bikini, so we all love her passion for the sport. I suggest we all watch female surfing a little more in 2012. It could be something you thank me for in the future.

17. Chelsie Jorgensen: USA

Become a model? Check

Pose for Playboy? Check

Play football in lingerie? Check

What else is needed? Maybe she should be the Republican nominee for President. That would help fill out her resume.

16. Bianca Cruz: USA

She never left us; she was never forgotten; she was always around. 

Bianca Cruz popped up in a few of my older articles last year and seemingly fell off the map. She is a former Arizona State softball player and current WAG to Jason Pridie. So, worst case scenario, she gave up on the softball and is now joining the WAGs.

15. Hope Solo: USA

The first time I watched women's soccer was in 2007 when I watched Team USA play in the FIFA Women's World Cup. I noticed a goalie with and incredibly gorgeous smile and a visual appeal that had me staring.

I did not care too much for the sport until then so, just like most men in America, we can all thank Hope Solo for our love for the game of women's soccer. I am now a big fan and love to watch them play.

14. Darya Klishina: Russia

Darya Klishina is Russian. She is also tall, skinny, beautiful, and a great long jumper. 

She once jumped a distance of over seven meters. In America, that would be 21 feet. She jumped 21 feet! If you cannot imagine how far that is, use a suburban driveway for comparison. She would have jumped almost completely off of one, starting from the front door.

13. Joey Davenport: USA

And you thought the Lingerie Football League was a bad idea. How bad of a call was that?

The LFL features women, like model Joey Davenport, hitting other women of the same level of hotness just like a real football player would do. It is as great a sport to watch as the NFL.

If you do not like the LFL, that is ok. You can always watch Antiques Roadshow.

12. Claudia Toth: Austria

A friend of mine was arguing with me about curling. He said it was not a real sport and did not deserve to be called an Olympic event. It should be removed from the list of sports featured at the Olympics and people should quit playing it.

I then showed him a picture of Claudia Toth and told him that she was a curling player from Austria. He no longer speaks ill of a sport he does not understand.

11. Partridge Twins: USA

If there is ever a time when a set of twins do not make one of my lists, let me know. Especially when they are as hot as the Partridge Twins.

I know what you are thinking, "but there is only one woman here." Ok, there are two of her in this world. Two!

10. Gina Carano: USA

I almost said that Gina Carano was the sexiest female fighter in the world. I forgot about the other female fighter that has yet to be seen here. If you keep reading, you will see who I am talking about.

Gina is still one of the sexiest women alive and thankfully she is from the USA. That can only help us in this argument.

9. Blair O'Neal: USA

Blair O'Neal is not your typical-looking female golfer. At first glance, she comes across as a woman on a mission. The mission? Be a supermodel.

However, Blair is not only a good professional golfer, she is a former Lingerie Football League player. So she can throw on some football pads and hit someone, too. She might be tiny but she can hit like Brian Urlacher. If he was a woman.

8. Ana Ivanovic: Serbia

2011 has not been the year of Ana. She dropped in the rankings to 141 and only won one tournament, the Tournament of Champions.

That does not change the fact that she is our favorite tennis player in the world, based on her beauty alone. Her game has not been the same since 2008 but her looks have done nothing but go north of sizzling.

7. Melanie Adams: Australia

Does pole vaulting have to be that difficult? 

Melanie Adams is an Australian pole vaulter that makes using a pole to vault over things look easy. The fact that she is a perfect ten, that just adds to her likability meter. 

6. Sara Galimberti: Italy

There are only a few women in this world that can be both a super hot model and track star. Sara Galimberti is one of them.

The Italian Allison Stokke can run long distances on the track during the day and hit a catwalk in the evening. It will not be long before...wait, I was just handed a link. Here is a boatload of her sexy pictures.

5. Miesha Tate: USA

Miesha Tate, where have you been all my life?

I started working in this industry a few years back and never have I spotted a female with as much raw sexual appeal as Tate. I did not even know it a year ago but I included her in one of my articles, actually several, and forgot about her. 

Well, Miesha, this is my apology. Welcome back.

4. Kiira Korpi: Finland

I am either the last person to the party or I am so early that no one else has arrived. Either way, Kiira Korpi needs to be shown a little more love by the media.

She is the next big thing in the world of female athletes. I promise you this, by the end of 2012, and maybe even 2011, Kiira will have at least been mentioned around 43,239 times. By me.

3. Sophie Horn: Great Britain

Sophie Horn is not just another beautiful female athlete with a sexy calendar coming out for 2012. She is much more. 

She is a personal trainer, golfer, model (she has her own belts), columnist, and certified ninja. Oh wait, I was not supposed to talk about the last part. Forget I said that. Erase it from your minds. 

2. Bia and Branca Feres: Brazil

Twins. Twins. Twins.

Is there ever a need to argue the fact that hot twins trump everything else?

1. Alex Morgan: USA

She might not be the first female soccer player from the USA to be named hottest female in the world, but she is definitely the best.

Alex Morgan brings a certain flare to the game of soccer that we have all come to love. It does not hurt that she is also tall and beautiful. That is just a bonus.
