With college football's bowl season under way, a lot of teams are fully in "There’s always next year" mode. After all, not every fanbase is content with its current situation, and hope springs eternal.

But which teams have the most to look forward to in 2012? I’m B/R College Football Analyst John Greely, and these are my projections for the preseason Top 10.

You probably won’t be surprised by many of the picks, as there are a lot of traditional powers and currently elite teams that will still be elite. And obviously, I can’t know for sure which star players are returning and which are going pro. This isn’t a finished list, but I think it should serve as a road map to see which teams will start among the nation’s best.
