You don't have to be an avid volleyball fan to realize this is one epic point. There were enough spikes, digs and blocks in this point to last an entire match, let alone one point.

When it was all said and done, the point last lasted an incredible one minute and eight seconds.

You would be hard-pressed to find another point in another match that could equal this one. There were kill shots by both sides that should have ended this one on numerous occasions.

And, get this, it was the final point in the fifth set of the NCAA semifinals!

In the end, Illinois won the point and the match. They defeated USC 3-2 with scores of 25-27, 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 15-10. This was a hard fought and back-and-forth match, and it all culminated with this remarkable last point.

Both teams were determined not to lose this point. The result was some unbelievable digs. Both sides were accurate with their sets and powerful with their kills, but the other team refused to let the ball hit the ground.

Illinois will now advance to take on UCLA for the championship.

This was Illinois' first trip to the national semifinal since 1988. They are the tournament's No. 3 seed. For the seventh-seeded, Trojans it is their second consecutive loss in the national semifinals.

At least the Trojans can say they did not go down without a fight.
