Rookie point guard Russell Westbrook is getting better. Hopefully the Thunder will follow suit. Westbrook had 31 points against Phoenix on Monday night.

The first quarter looked good for the Thunder, with Westbrook controlling the game and hitting big shots. The NBA newcomer hit several threes and had some good assists.

Scott Brooks even made a point of it, saying that Westbrook would "get better every day, every month, every year."

The youngster had his best game of the season, but still has some big problems. Turnovers allowed the Suns to overrun the Thunder. As the point guard, that is Westbrook's responsibility.

He looked a lot better Monday night. If he continues to get better, the Thunder might pull off a couple good wins, and that is something they desperately need.

Westbrook is still learning, but at least he is getting better.
